Monday, June 8, 2026Brock welcomes his longtime best friend Josh Satterfield back into the studio for a full-on throwback episode packed with old radio memories, ridiculous breakup excuses, random facts, and classic Brock-and-Josh chemistry. The two reminisce about their college radio days on Jibber Jabber, their old show Nap Time, and how this version of Brock in the Morning is “the real deal” on Sam's Furniture Radio. The trending topic of the day is the most unhinged breakup excuse you've ever heard, and the answers do not disappoint. From “my mom doesn't think you're right for me” even though the mom had passed away years earlier, to “my therapist says I need someone who matches my moon phase,” to the classic “God told me we need to break up,” Brock and Josh dig into the wild, awkward, and hilarious ways people try to end relationships. The show also covers plenty of “What the Heck” moments, including new Hot Pocket Snack Breaks, an Olive Garden server allegedly being denied a $700 tip, a fistfight breaking out at a kindergarten graduation, and a priest in Detroit going full crime-fighter mode after chasing down a suspected car thief. Brock and Josh mix in random facts about zebras, gladiators, Russell Crowe, The Bahamas, The North Face, and the original lyrics to “Escape,” better known as the Pina Colada song.In the 7 AM Challenge, Josh plays “Answer Wrong and Win,” leading to some beautifully dumb answers involving chocolate milk, grocery shopping, and Olympic seasons. Later, the guys dive into dad rock, ranking bands like Weezer, The Offspring, Linkin Park, Korn, Incubus, Green Day, Foo Fighters, Fall Out Boy, Creed, and Blink-182 as the new soundtrack of fatherhood. That naturally leads to memories of concerts, college, Mr. T commercials, Prince, Randy Travis, Lainey Wilson, donuts, and the kind of nostalgic chaos only best friends can create. The episode wraps with Brock and Josh talking about Modern Mission laser tag, wild cruise cabin plumbing disasters, terrible breakup excuses, celebrity gossip, and one last college-radio-style goodbye with a little Russ Taff energy. It is a funny, nostalgic, and all-over-the-place Monday show with best-friend banter at the center.

Laughing in the Dark: Suicide Prevention, Comedy, and Hope with Frank King In this episode, Kevin sits down with Frank King, a suicide prevention speaker, comedian, and former writer for The Tonight Show. Frank spent 20 years writing for late night television and has been a full time speaker and comedian for more than 40 years. Frank's work is deeply personal. His speaking is shaped by his lifelong experience with Major Depressive Disorder and Chronic Suicidal Ideation, including moments where he came close enough to ending his life that he can speak honestly and powerfully about what that darkness feels like. Instead of hiding that story, Frank has turned his long, dark journey of the soul into lifesaving work. He has delivered 13 TEDx Talks and shares his insights with corporations, associations, and audiences across the country to help people understand suicide prevention, mental health, and the power of honest conversation. Over the course of his career, Frank has shared the stage with legendary comedians and entertainers including Jeff Foxworthy, Adam Sandler, Jerry Seinfeld, Dr. Ken Jeong, Ellen DeGeneres, Dennis Miller, Lou Rawls, The Beach Boys, and Randy Travis. And somehow, on top of all that, Frank has survived two aortic valve replacements, a double bypass, a heart attack, and losing to a puppet on the original Star Search. And yes, he's lived to joke about it all. This conversation is honest, meaningful, surprisingly funny, and deeply human. Frank brings a rare mix of comedy, courage, and lived experience to one of the most important conversations we can have. In This Episode Kevin and Frank talk about: • Suicide prevention and mental health • Living with Major Depressive Disorder • Chronic Suicidal Ideation • Why humor can help open hard conversations • Turning pain into purpose • Frank's journey as a comedian, speaker, and TEDx presenter • What people often misunderstand about suicidal thoughts • How honest conversations can save lives About Frank King Frank King is a suicide prevention speaker, comedian, and former writer for The Tonight Show. He has been a full time speaker and comedian for 40 years and has delivered 13 TEDx Talks. His work is informed by his lived experience with Major Depressive Disorder and Chronic Suicidal Ideation, and he now uses comedy and storytelling to help organizations have lifesaving conversations around mental health and suicide prevention.

Chad just got back from Tennessee, and he's not over it yet. Good luck getting him over it. Nashville first, from Barrett Hobbs, the Scoreboard, the Nashville Palace, dinner at the Detroit Cowboy with Chef Marino throwing down on steaks and lobster, then straight to Kid Rock's Honky Tonk with a VIP section right above the band. That's how you do Music City. Then Lynchburg. The Jack Daniel's distillery. Barrel selection with 24 people, the biggest group selection Clint Bailey and Josh Phillips had ever done. Drilling straight into a nine-year-old barrel in a rickhouse, lunch at Miss Mary Bobo's, shopping at the hardware store, and a sunset dinner on the hill with cigars and rocking chairs made from actual barrel wood. Hank Jr., Waylon, Randy Travis, and Don Williams playing softly in the background straight from his friend's guitars. Chad also gets into the single-barrel program and why you should seriously look into getting one for your family, your company, and your legacy. The details on that are worth the listen alone. This one's a trip. Pour something good and come along for it. Only a small slice of podcasts ever makes it to 100 episodes, so we wanted this one to feel like a real toast, not a victory lap. We talk honestly about how Try That in a Small Town started, why it mattered to us, and what it still means when the world tries to turn a simple message into something else. The heart of it is still the same: look out for your neighbor, stand up for people who can't defend themselves, and don't forget where you came from.We also rewind through the messy behind-the-scenes stuff that comes with building a weekly show while living in the music business, from our early “phone on the table” pilot to the deals that almost happened and the grind that never really turns off. If you've ever felt like your job follows you home, you'll understand this conversation about sacrifice, pressure, and why a great song can still light you back up.Then we have some fun with a question that instantly exposes every country fan's bias: the Mount Rushmore of male country singers. Dwight Yoakam, George Strait, Randy Travis, Waylon, Hank Jr., Garth, Morgan Wallen and more get name-checked, argued over, and defended like it's a barroom court case. We wrap by sharing what we've learned about each other over 100 episodes, shouting out a listener story of the week, and thanking the people who've kept the lights on, including Patriot Mobile, eSpaces, Peacemaker Coffee, and Original Glory. Don and Dude keep the “I Love the 80s” journey rolling into 1987's country and rock lanes, where Nashville went back to basics even as rock bands turned studios into high-gloss laboratories. One of us drops the needle on a neotraditional country smash that helped reset the genre for a new generation, while the other cranks an arena-rock juggernaut whose stacked vocals and surgically polished guitars defined late 80s rock radio. The AlbumsRandy Travis – Always & Forever (1987)Randy Travis doubles down on his rich baritone and back-to-basics storytelling on a second LP that helped cement the neotraditional country revival. Two-step shuffles and tear-stained ballads sit side by side, all framed by warm acoustic guitars, steel, and fiddle rather than synth gloss. “Too Gone Too Long” opens with an easy, bar-band groove and a quietly resolute goodbye, while “Forever and Ever, Amen” turns a simple melody and everyday images of aging into one of country's most enduring love vows. Deep cuts like “Good Intentions” and “Tonight We're Gonna Tear Down the Walls” dig into regret, moral slippage, and emotional distance, proving Travis could be both radio-friendly and emotionally grown-up without ever leaving the honky-tonk.Def Leppard – Hysteria (1987)Def Leppard spend years and a small fortune turning hard rock into studio-sculpted pop metal on a record where every chorus seems built for a stadium chant. Guitars are layered into a seamless wall of melody, vocals are stacked into huge gang-choir hooks, and Rick Allen's hybrid drum sound hits with machine-like precision. Singles like “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Animal,” and “Love Bites” make the album feel like a greatest-hits set, while deeper cuts reveal just how carefully every riff, harmony, and drum hit was placed. By the time the title track and “Hysteria” fade out, the band has turned maximalist production into its own kind of songwriting, defining what late 80s rock excess could sound like without losing the tunes.Diggin' AlbumsU2 – Days of Ash (2026)A surprise six-track EP finds U2 returning with taut, reflective rock that grapples with grief, injustice, and persistence in the face of loss. The band leans on atmospheric guitars, steady grooves, and Bono's searching vocals, treating each song like a vignette for lives cut short and the resilience that follows.U2 – The Joshua Tree (1987)U2's fifth album turns American deserts and city streets into a spiritual and political song cycle built on chiming guitar and big, open-hearted melodies. “Where the Streets Have No Name,” “I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For,” and “With or Without You” anchor a set that pushes from intimate doubt to widescreen protest. The Charlatans – We Are Love (2025)The long-running English indie band returns after a long studio break with a set that blends jangly guitars, warm keys, and a reflective late-career calm. Themes of memory, renewal, and, yes, love run through songs that feel both lived-in and quietly hopeful. It plays less like a reinvention and more like a confident, seasoned band stretching out with nothing left to prove.Elvis Presley – EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert (2026 film)A concert documentary built from restored late-60s and 70s performance footage drops viewers into peak-era Elvis onstage. It is designed as an immersive big-screen experience, somewhere between live album, biography, and time machine.Follow & SupportFollow the show on Instagram, Facebook, Threads, and Bluesky @albumnerds, and support by subscribing, rating, reviewing, and sharing.“They pull a knife, you pull a gun. Totally 80s and 90s Recall

Dust off the rhinestones and fire up the jukebox, because 1980s country was where neon lights met steel guitars. The decade kicked off with outlaw grit still echoing from the 70s, but soon the airwaves filled with the polished swagger of artists like George Strait and Reba McEntire, who balanced tradition with arena-sized confidence. Bands like Alabama turned country into a crossover powerhouse, stacking harmonies as tall as their tour buses, while storytellers such as Randy Travis steered the genre back toward its roots with rich baritone ballads that felt carved from oak At the same time, legends like Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers continued to shape the landscape, proving that authenticity never goes out of style. Sister duos like The Judds brought heart-tugging harmonies to the charts, and by the decade's end, a young Garth Brooks was loading the launchpad for the 90s country explosion. From honky-tonk tearjerkers to glossy radio anthems, 80s country was a decade of big hooks, bigger hair, and songs that still two-step straight into your memory Pandora: https://pandora.app.link/iq8iShjXOLb   Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/totally-80s-and-90s-recall/id1662282694    Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/11dk5TUoLUk4euD1Te1EYG?si=b37496eb6e784408    Amazon Music: https://music.amazon.com/podcasts/1960c8f9-158d-43ac-89a6-d868ea1fe077/totally-80s-and-90s-recall    YouTube Podcasts: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLH9lGakNgCDZUkkHMUu88uXYMJu_33Rab&si=xo0EEVJRSwS68mWZ   Playlists Spotify:   Apple:   Amazon: https://music.amazon.com/user-playlists/16b4813b839c4477b822cc845919f00esune?marketplaceId=ATVPDKIKX0DER&musicTerritory=US&ref=dm_sh_CMNR3rn7LH8c9RkLizlPyaZlt Contact Us: Website: https://totally80s90srecall.podbean.com/  Email: 80s90srecall@gmail.com   LinkTree:https://linktr.ee/80s90srecall

Outside of the Jai Paul Anniversary alt version bangers at the end, that Randy Travis 45 record slowed and throwed was my favorite portion of this wicked hawt installment and I'm all hot and bothered about it. To this day, the original test pressing of Styx's Mr. Roboto remains my favorite 45 record in my collection to slow and throw, but these slowed country tunes are so sick. Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain by Willie, Take Me by George Jones and now this one by Randy Travis just to name a few. I looked for Randy Travis slowed and throwed on the internet and found one example but it sounded like trash so this is the only place serving up a nice slice of game like that. The only game around town. I did get approached while shopping today by the president of a local 37 and under arena football organization. A put together, well spoken man that was naturally drawn to the aura of myself and my friend. He kindly introduced himself along with his cause, being that of keeping middle aged men off of the streets and doing the most to prepare them for the next level, seeking donation to help his cause and to benefit the grand scheme of his local football league. Little did he know, he was speaking with the best quarterback prospect in the building, with possibly an expandable radius of within 2 square miles, and the best long snapper/pocket protector in the Tri State area. I throw darts, people. An all-out aerial assault disguised as an unassuming local internet disc jockey. My friend that was with me can Olympic squat a mid size SUV and I've seen him do morally questionable things that let me know for sure, he is the perfect candidate to cover the blind side and let Juan Don go absolute Uncle Rico in the pocket and put on showtime for the masses. If I go on to have a famed local career in the arena football league, don't say I didn't call it. George Herman Ruthless in the pocket firing quick dirty cheese into the flat. Other than daydreaming about scrambling for first downs in the 37U league, I did manage to pickup more Pokemon cards today like a complete degenerate. It's embarrassing that I'm balling out this hard on Pokemon but I guess I could be doing worse things. God bless the person that reads this whole thing. Until next week.. Your Host with the MostTrill Belichick
