Scott Meier (@scott.meier.87) is on a mission to help others. But that mission started by helping the one person who needed his help the most: himself. When his brother got married in 2020, Scott was weighing in at 367 pounds. He still doesn't like looking at the wedding photos from the day. It's too painful. But that was his “line in the sand” moment

On Episode 8 I sit down with Scott Meier of Farmington High School. We discuss a lot of different factors surrounding the effective development of athletes. We discussed his starting point and things that he looks to develop early. We also talked about the role of specificity in training with his various athletic teams that he serves. We discuss the traditional lay out of Triphasic training, how he implements differing auxiliary movements during that time, and how he implements speed and agility training as well. We examine the rationale behind triphasic training and the many different benefits an athletic population can derive from this methodology. We also discussed how he utilizes his free lap timing system and some of the realizations he has had about speed training with his freelap. Overall, its a great conversation covering a lot of real estate around Triphasic. Scott is an experienced and great Athletic prep coach, so there's a lot of good information to take away from this podcast.

Gio and Jack are joined by Andy Weiseneck to promote The White Party a biennial charitable event hosted by local philanthropic orthodontist, Dr. Scott Meier. The 10th rendition of the White Party will take place at Dr. Meier's home on February 17, 2018 and the net proceeds will benefit Nicklaus Children's Health Care Foundation and Jupiter Tequesta Athletic Association (JTAA). Based on our previous experience, it is expected that over 500 local professionals (doctors and other medical professionals, lawyers, financial advisors, publicists, athletes, local celebrities and other charitable professionals) will be in attendance. With the anticipated attendance and your potential sponsorship dollars, our goal for 2018 is to raise in excess of $100,000 for these two great charities ($89,000 was raised in 2016!).

I talk with Scott Meier from the Farmington Tigers located in Farmington Minnesota in the Midwest. Farmington high is in one of the toughest conferences in Minnesota and Coach Meier knows he has to have his athletes ready for every sport because of this high level of competition. Coach Meier has a lot of great things to share in this interview and he goes into depth about the tiger strength and conditioning program and I am sure you will be able to pull more than a few nuggets of info out of it to help mold and refine your own program. Scott Meier will be starting his 18th year at Farmington this fall, and was the head Strength & Conditioning coach at Lakeville High School two years prior to that while working as a personal trainer. Scott has a B.S. in Exercise & Sport Science from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse, and did his graduate work and teacher licensure at the University of Minnesota. His additional certifications have included: Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), Certified Personal Trainer (ACE), and USA Weightlifting Certified Club Coach (Level 1). Scott coached the successful Farmington weightlifting team for 8 years and is a nationally ranked masters-level sprinter. Lots of great things to hear from coach Meier, so listen up!
