On today's explosive episode of Wake Up America, Austin Petersen dives deep into the Epstein cover-up backlash and how it's now hitting Trump's own inner circle. After years of fueling the populist right with conspiracy theories — from birtherism to deep state coups — the Trump movement is suddenly telling its followers to “trust the DOJ” when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein. But MAGA influencers like Laura Loomer and Alex Jones aren't buying it. Is this the final straw for conspiracy culture? Or just the beginning of the Conspiracy Boomerang?

The Law's Boomerang: When Protection Becomes Weaponry

Mahmoud Khalil spent over 100 days locked in a Louisiana detention center. Why? Not for breaking the law, but because the law—designed to protect people like him—was turned against him. He's a Palestinian grad student, a green card holder, and he led pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University. For that, he was swept up under an obscure Cold War statute originally meant to keep Soviet spies out of the U.S. The government called him a “foreign threat.” He was yanked from his life, his wife, and his newborn child—and stuffed into ICE's LaSalle facility like a piece of evidence. That law—along with speech codes, hate crime statutes, and campus safety mandates—wasn't supposed to be used like this. It was born from the trauma of the Holocaust, the brutality of Jim Crow, and the moral reckoning of the Civil Rights Movement. It was forged to shield Black Americans, Jewish Americans, women, queer people, immigrants, and yes—people like Mahmoud—from harm. But laws don't remember why they were written. They only remember that they can be enforced.Laws are like blades forged in fire. They emerge sharp, blunt, sometimes beautiful—but always dangerous. Once crafted, anyone can pick them up. And that's what's happened. We spent decades expanding the definition of harm: from physical to emotional, from violence to words. We created speech codes, safe spaces, trigger warnings, anti-hate language. We said “words are violence.” And in many cases, we were right. But those same frameworks now allow the government to treat protest signs like terrorism. They empower campus administrators to punish dissent. And they justify deporting green card holders for saying the wrong thing at the wrong rally. The law didn't ask whether Mahmoud Khalil's signs were hateful. It asked whether they could be interpreted that way. The same logic used to ban homophobic preachers from campus is now being used to silence pro-Palestinian students.Jewish students say chants like “From the river to the sea” make them feel unsafe. And the state listens—just as it once did when LGBTQ+ students complained about hate groups on the quad. And now, activists are shocked to see their own weapons used against them. That's the boomerang. You throw it in the name of protection—and it comes back around with someone else's hand on it.This isn't a glitch. It's not a betrayal of justice. It's exactly what happens when you build a legal system so powerful, so expansive, so morally coded that it can't distinguish between righteous protection and strategic repression. You can't invent a nuclear bomb and act surprised when someone else sets it off.You can't create hate crime laws and assume they'll only ever defend your people, your narrative, your trauma. You built the system. Someone else inherited the keys. The forge doesn't care who picks up the hammer. It only cares that it's hot enough to burn.TL;DRThe provided text argues that anti-hate laws, initially crafted to safeguard vulnerable groups and promote civil rights, have been misappropriated and weaponized. The author contends that these laws, once seen as progressive tools, are now being used to suppress dissent and activism, particularly against pro-Palestinian voices, as exemplified by the case of Mahmoud Khalil. The text uses the metaphor of a "forge" to illustrate how laws, though forged with good intentions, become neutral tools that can be wielded by any political side. Ultimately, the source suggests that the broadening of what constitutes "harmful speech" has created a "boomerang effect," where legal frameworks designed to protect are now being used to silence those they were originally intended to help.

Target Market Insights: Multifamily Real Estate Marketing Tips

Michael Blank is a real estate investor, author, speaker, and CEO of Nighthawk Equity. He's one of the leading authorities on apartment investing and financial freedom through multifamily real estate. With over $300 million in assets under management and author of Financial Freedom with Real Estate Investing, Michael helps investors and aspiring entrepreneurs escape the W-2 grind by acquiring multifamily properties and building sustainable income streams.     Make sure to download our free guide, 7 Questions Every Passive Investor Should Ask, here. Key Takeaways Michael transitioned from tech to restaurants to real estate after early business setbacks during the 2000 and 2008 market crashes. Multifamily real estate offers superior risk-adjusted returns due to forced appreciation and operational control compared to single-family homes. Market sentiment is often wrong—investors must look past fear-based headlines and focus on long-term fundamentals. Today's market offers lower leverage, better pricing, and a strong long-term demand outlook for multifamily housing. Education and building sophistication as an investor is critical to identifying real opportunities, especially in volatile markets.     Topics Michael's Journey into Multifamily Started in corporate software; was part of a major IPO just before the 2000 tech bubble crash. Lost significant capital in restaurant franchises during the 2008 recession. Began flipping houses before discovering multifamily through a 12-unit deal in DC that eventually sparked his passion for apartments. Built Nighthawk Equity and an education platform to help others achieve financial freedom through apartment investing. Understanding Risk-Adjusted Returns Multifamily offers superior downside protection compared to many other asset classes. Operational risk (property management) can be mitigated by using professional managers. Market risk can be managed by focusing on NOI-driven valuation rather than relying on market appreciation like single-family. Investors must evaluate underwriting assumptions—rent growth, vacancy, CapEx reserves, and debt terms—to fully assess risk. Why Multifamily is Attractively Priced Today Current deals are 30% below 2021 peak prices. Leverage is lower and more conservative, reducing financial risk. Interest rates are flat or declining, improving the outlook for new acquisitions. Long-term demand remains strong due to the lack of new affordable housing supply. Investor Sentiment and Sophistication Market sentiment swings often don't reflect true investment fundamentals. Sophisticated investors like institutions are returning to the market now while many retail investors remain fearful. Successful investing requires becoming a student of the market and evaluating data beyond media headlines. Raising Capital in Today's Market Focuses heavily on education to help investors understand why now may be a great buying window. Transparency, data-driven insights, and regular communication are key to re-engaging cautious investors. Building long-term relationships and trust remains critical to capital raising success.

In this episode, Dave and Jamison answer these questions: Mr A. N. Onymous says, Hi Dave and Jamison, Long time listened, second time caller! I wrote a little while back with a common new-manager question about how to handle one of my reports who was at the lower end performance wise, but at the top end on the pay scale. I'd been trying to manage it by getting raises for the rest of the team in order to balance things out a bit (and make the rest of the team happy). I did consider Limogeage but having them on the team was better than a vacancy. Fast forward a year or so, and the problem resolved itself when this team member left - or so I thought. We've had a few months gap before opening recruitment again, and it turns out this team member wasn't happy at their new role and has applied to come back. Given they negotiated well with us the first time I'm guessing they've had a healthy pay bump at their new role. What should I do? On the one hand I know their performance, they do deliver well and I'm happy working with them and managing them. Would it be rude to offer them to come back at their previous salary (assuming they're the “best” person when we interview)? Will they be offended if we don't offer them the role? We haven't had interviews yet - so help me Dave and Jamison, you're my only hope! AI has taken over my team mate's brain. HELP! I work for a ~10ish or so team building a B2B finances related app for several platforms (mobile, web, backend, etc). On the Web team, there's only two of us. I've been on this team for around 4 years now, and during this times I've had several coworkers (the previous ones have either left the company voluntarily or involuntarily, moved to other teams, or completely left the field). I'm 100% convinced it's not because of me, so let's take that out of the question right away :-). All of this to say is that I tend to be the person that knows the most about our (quite large) codebase. We work on a ten-year-old React application with some technical debt, but overall I think it's pretty good. My coworker comes from Android development. While he's a great developer and has AMAZING soft skills (probably a listener of this podcast!, or maybe not because he has not quit yet?) he's a little bit lacking on the general “Web Stuff (TM)” knowledge and many of the specifics details of our codebase. A bigger problem is that he seems to have totally given up on learning web skills or understanding our codebase and is instead just tab-tab-tab-ing autocompleted AI crap all over the codebase. His code works as expected, but when reviewing his PRs I feel like a slave of the AI. I'm not reviewing another human's work, but just what some AI model is doing. While it works, it's terrible code for another human to maintain. For example, there's lots of “inline” crap that we already have utility functions or libraries for, regexes everywhere, custom CSS all over the place instead of using our design system, abuse of the CSS cascade instead of using our CSS-inJS solution, large files with lots of code repeating existing logic that's already somewhere else, and code comments every 2 lines or so which provide no value, but that's what AI does to explain things. I'm not against AI (I also have explicitly to say this to prevent it killing me in the future). I use it for explaining things to me, writing utility functions, suggesting improvements, or as a google search replacement that saves a lot of time. But leaving AI to do your work mindlessly while you sip orange juice and watch how it codes is wrong. We're not there yet. These PRs work and are difficult to reject because management wants to ship fast. However, they are harming the codebase. We'll get to the point where only AI will be able to touch it due to the amount of repetition, duplication and overall non-human friendly code. How do I tell this person “Please stop doing this and instead learn things properly, and use AI as a tool and stop you being the tool of the AI” without hurting any feelings, and without being seen as the AI grinch? Thanks for your help! Love the podcast, and why scroll keeps jumping up when writing on this form? Seems like AI is boycotting me.

She earned her bachelor's degree in science from the University of Queensland—one of the world's top-ranked universities—before launching her career in banking and finance at one of Australia's leading financial institutions. Her life took a surprising turn in 2010 while vacationing in San Diego, where she met her now-husband crossing the street. One year later, they were married. Over the next few years, they lived in San Diego, Cleveland (her husband's hometown), and Atlanta, welcoming their first two children along the way. It was during her first stint in Cleveland that Simone noticed something striking about the U.S. housing market—unlike in Australia, cash-flowing rental properties were a real opportunity here. That insight led to their first real estate purchase in 2012: a duplex where they lived on one side and rented out the other, letting the tenant cover their mortgage and expenses. Simone made herself a promise: if they ever moved back to Cleveland, she'd dive into real estate full time. Fast forward to 2016, when the family relocated to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia. There, Simone started a healthcare business that quickly took off, growing to nearly $5 million in annual revenue in just four years. Her husband joined the venture, and in the midst of scaling the company, they welcomed their third child. In 2021, they sold the business and returned to Cleveland. Simone kept her promise. In just over three years, she's completed seven full renovations and manages a growing portfolio of rental properties under her company, Moza Homes. Her most recent project, Boomerang Ranch, turned a tired mid-century home in Moreland Hills into a high-design showcase that went under contract shortly after listing. Through Moza Homes, Simone wears many hats—owner, general contractor, licensed real estate agent, and designer. Her approach is hands-on and highly intentional. “Moza Homes was born from the idea that real estate investment could be both artistic and profitable,” she says. With a strategy focused on uncovering hidden potential in prime neighborhoods, Simone is building something special—one beautifully reimagined home at a time.   “There's a story in every home,” Simone says. “My job is to reveal it.”   Social Media Links: (17) Facebook Instagram (25) SIMONE LESKO | LinkedIn   Website: Home | Moza Homes   To learn more about Jen Josey, visit www.TheRealJenJosey.com To join REIGN, visit www.REIGNmastermind.com Stuff Jen Josey Loves: https://www.reignmastermind.com/resources Buy Jen Josey's Book: From Beginner to Badass: https://a.co/d/bstKlby

JoJo Siwa is Rosebud's youngest ever guest - she's only 22 years old. But she's been famous since she was 9, and a megastar since she was 12, when her first single "Boomerang" went viral. In this conversation - the only podcast interview JoJo is doing in the UK - JoJo talks about her early years, growing up in Nebraska and competing and winning dance competitions under the tutelage of her mom, and Abby-Lee Miller, her dance instructor. She talks about the fire she had to succeed, and about how it felt to become super famous at 12. She talks about discovering her sexuality, and tells Gyles an amazing story about falling in love with her first girlfriend on a cruise ship. And then she talks about now: about her recent experience in Celebrity Big Brother, and how she met and fell in love with the reality star Chris Hughes while she was in the house. JoJo shows Gyles her tattoos. And Gyles and JoJo talk about the origin of the word "serendipity".JoJo's single "Bulletproof" is available to stream now. Waymo's self-driving service is scaling at a staggering pace, reshaping rider habits and leaving competitors scrambling to catch up.The ride-hailing company passed 10 million cumulative rides, with 20 million projected by year's end. Weekly rides jumped from 10K in 2023 to over 250K by mid-2025.March alone saw a 27% spike in San Francisco usage—a major behavioral shift.Expansion continues in Phoenix, LA, SF, and Austin; plus, Waymo is mapping 10+ new cities including Tokyo.Tesla is set to launch its own robotaxi service, using a camera-only, AI-first approach—far cheaper but less tested than Waymo's sensor-heavy, safety-first model.“This isn't science fiction. It's not the future. It's happening now,” said Co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana. As economic uncertainty lingers, both workers and employers are turning to familiarity. The share of new hires who are former employees—aka boomerang workers—is climbing again, especially in tech and media.March data shows that 35% of hires were returning employees, particularly in the information sector.Employers value boomerangs for cultural fit, performance history, and quick onboarding.Job seekers face longer searches and more layoffs—making old employers more appealing.Experts say your exit matters—managers increasingly view resignations as a potential pause, not a goodbye.“You want to get the best bang for your buck, and often it's a returning employee,” said ADP Chief Economist Nela RichardsonJoin Paul J Daly and Kyle Mountsier every morning for the Automotive State of the Union podcast as they connect the dots across car dealerships, retail trends, emerging tech like AI, and cultural shifts—bringing clarity, speed, and people-first insight to automotive leaders navigating a rapidly changing industry.Get the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/

Due to the heavy tax burden, the company is planning a "disciplined approach" to investment and expects to pay a significant amount in windfall tax in June 2025. Enquest argues that the UK is the only country levying a windfall tax on its domestic energy producers where no windfall profits exist, further impacting competitiveness. The boss of Enquest has slammed the windfall tax on oil and gas firms as doing “irreversible damage” to the industry and “driving job losses across the sector”. It is designed to tax the extra profits these companies made due to surging energy prices after Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Energy prices affect everyone, but especially those who earn less. Trump's policies helped the poor in his first term, and they clearly will again. All the experts seemed shocked and surprised that inflation soared when Biden set out to destroy all oil, gas, and natural gas companies. His research reveals the complex relationship between our habitual work practices and the neural pathways that form our cultural thinking patterns.• Culture consists of millions of schemas or tacit knowledge structures that reside in our brains• Approximately 75% of business transformations fail to achieve their stated objectives• What we do all day long indelibly shapes how we think - we are what we do• Industrial companies develop risk-averse mindsets that extend beyond their core products• The nature of our daily tasks creates "dominant logics" that influence all organizational thinking• The paradox of culture: although culture lives in the brain, you change it through practices, not people• Most organizations attempt culture change through training, values, or hiring but keep business practices the same• Effective transformation requires rethinking fundamental business practices like planning and budgeting• Leaders should develop pattern recognition skills to identify habitual thinking in their organizations• Boomerang employees often have unique ability to recognize entrenched patterns and cultural modelsFor more insights, check out David's book "Disrupting Corporate Culture" which explores how cognitive science can transform organizational change efforts. To stay connected and continue the conversation, be sure to follow us on LinkedIn. Jon calls out the hypocrisy of passing massive omnibus bills after years of GOP outcry against bloated legislation, and warns of hidden land sales, student loan overhauls, and potential CO2 pipeline power grabs. He also dives into the crumbling narrative around Biden's stage 4 prostate cancer diagnosis, questioning the timing and transparency of the White House amid rising speculation of elder abuse and political cover-up. From Trump's renewed attacks on Kamala Harris's celebrity endorsements to rising tension with Netanyahu over Gaza, the episode unpacks domestic and foreign drama with characteristic wit and skepticism. Other stories include Elon Musk's scaled-back political spending, potential full-scale civil war in Syria, DOJ investigations into Chicago's hiring practices, and a damning bribery conviction of a top Navy admiral. His ten previous books have received wide critical acclaim for the tight pacing and twisty plots, as well as for their complex, layered characters who often grapple with ethical dilemmas.   Bailey's eleventh thriller, THE BOOMERANG, is somewhatof a departure for the celebrated writer. It's a political, conspiracy thrillerfeaturing a breakneck road trip from the White House to the dusty plains of rural New Mexico. It's also his most deeply personal book to date, as the story was inspired by his experience having a ringside seat in 2017 to two battles against cancer—fought by his father, who passed away, and his wife, who survived, thankfully.    ABOUT ROBERT BAILEYRobert Bailey is the Wall Street Journal bestsellingauthor of the Jason Rich series, which includes Rich Justice, Rich Waters, and Rich Blood; the Bocephus Haynes series, which includes The Wrong Side and Legacy of Lies; and the award-winning McMurtrie and Drake legal thriller series, including The Final Reckoning, The Last Trial, Between Black and White, and The Professor. He also wrote the inspirational novel, The Golfer's Carol. The author lives in Huntsville, Alabama, with his wife, Dixie, and they are the proud parents of three children, two dogs, and two cats.  Website: www.robertbaileybooks.com Facebook:@RobertBaileyBooks Instagram: @rbailey32

Have you ever thought about collaborating with other brands as part of your business and brand? It's definitely something I've been exploring and today on the podcast, I'm chatting to Phoebe Sherman, who I actually met through working with Adobe. In this episode, Phoebe shares her wealth of experience working with a variety of brands, how it has fitted into her business, and her top tips for finding collaborations, building relationships, and working successfully with brands. If you've been thinking about brand partnerships, or are just curious about how they work, I really hope you enjoy this episode! Key Takeaways Having multiple revenue streams can help your business navigate uncertainty and changes in consumer behaviour. Brand partnerships can be a significant revenue stream and you don't need a million followers or a service-based business to pursue them. Be prepared to pitch to brands, follow up multiple times (initial email and two follow-ups), and don't be afraid to negotiate your rates, especially regarding usage rights for your content. Finding brands to partner with involves understanding your audience, paying attention to the ads you see, and researching who to contact within a company (marketing manager, social media manager, PR email). It's important to align yourself with brands that share your values, but also be aware that this can be complicated and may change over time; trusting your intuition and being willing to say no to opportunities that aren't the right fit is key. Episode Highlights 00:01:07 - Phoebe shares the origin story of Girl Gang Craft and its evolution. 00:05:05 - Discussing the challenges of letting go of aspects of the business that are no longer working. 00:08:46 - Phoebe reveals the significant revenue generated from brand deals and her future goals. 00:12:58 - Practical advice on how to find and pitch to potential brand partners. 00:21:54 - Tips and insights on negotiating fees and understanding usage rights in brand collaborations. I prezzi medi: benzina self a 1,702 €/l, diesel self a 1,595 €/l.
