​⁠​ @Notevend2 talks with Robert Morris' head coach, Andrew Toole on this week's episode. Coach Toole is entering his 16th year as RMU's head coach after spending three seasons on the Colonians staff. Coach Toole was recognized as the 2025 Horizon League Coach of the Year for the first time of his career. Robert Morris also won their first Horizon League championship and earned their third automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.Toole has led the Colonials during the athletic departments transition from the NEC to the Horizon League. In 2020, RMU won the NEC championship and made it to the NCAA tournament a few days before the tournament would get cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. That summer Robert Morris announced their move to the Horizon League. Five years later, Toole has brought RMU to the top of the conference.RMU has been to seven national postseason appearances under Coach Toole's guidance. Toole also played in two NCAA tournaments during his playing days at the University of Pennsylvania. Learn why understanding the Declaration of Independence is important especially in these tumultuous times when patriotism is at an all time low. Discover why the Second Continental Congress decided to have a Declaration of Independence and how a committee of five of Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman and Robert Livingston were chosen to draft it. Explore why John Adams insisted that Thomas Jefferson draft it, and how the Committee and the Second Continental Congress changed Jefferson's draft. Hear the entire Declaration of Independence, the most profound words written in the English language that were approved by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.Most Americans have never read the entire Declaration of Independence and have a elementary grade level understanding of it. Most remember the soaring words of the second paragraph (“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among the are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness”), and maybe the last clause (“we mutually pledge our to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor”), and have not reviewed in any detail the remainder of the 1320 words. The rest is not just taxation without representation. At a public meeting on June 12, the judicial commission of the Central Florida Presbytery announced the decision. The defense told the commission it plans to appeal. Natasha: What was he convicted of? Warren: Specifically, Parsons was unanimously found guilty on three charges of “being harsh, ungentle, and unkind to those under his care or with whom he interacts”; “not being a humble servant leader but instead ‘lording it over others' (i.e, autocratic) and being domineering, contentious, and quarrelsome/pugnacious in his leadership so that those in his care and in his ‘leadership orbit' were intimidated, bullied, and/or afraid”; and “slandering and/or demeaning other servants and churches of our Lord.” He was found not guilty on two other charges, which were not specifically listed in the report. Natasha: According to the judicial commission's report, Parsons' trial was held between May 12 and 28 and included over 55 witnesses and 45 hours of proceedings. Warren: Parsons is indefinitely suspended from his duties as a teaching elder, including preaching, teaching, administering the sacraments, and participating in church courts.

A woman who said she was sexually abused as a child by Gateway Church founder Robert Morris has sued him and the church, alleging she was defamed by statements categorizing the abuse as an “inappropriate relationship.” In other news, developer Ruel Hamilton, who was convicted in 2021 for paying two Dallas City Council members to advance his housing projects, was acquitted on all federal counts Thursday. Hamilton was originally found guilty in 2021 by a Dallas jury and sentenced to eight years in federal prison; Gov. Greg Abbott announced Thursday that he deployed over 2,000 troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and more than 5,000 Texas National Guard soldiers across the state ahead of the planned protests on Saturday; and Garland dad Greg Artkop was sitting at Smokey Joe's BBQ in southern Dallas recently, it was his first stop on a quest to eat at Texas' 50 best barbecue joints. Now standing at 6-foot-3, Jawor brings size, reach, and a calming presence to the crease—traits that are quickly turning heads in his second collegiate season.Jawor made his college debut in 2024, seeing time in six games as a freshman. And, the Department of Justice is suing a city in Idaho for discriminating against Christ the Redeemer Church—a church plant of Doug Wilson's Christ Church. The church has been seeking a permit to meet in an old bank building—a request the city has denied. We'll take a look. Plus, Gereld Duane Rollins—who sued SBC legend Paul Pressler for sexual abuse—has died. His lawsuit sparked a Southern Baptist abuse reckoning. But first, Fuller Seminary reaffirms its stance on biblical sexuality. The board of Fuller, a leading evangelical seminary voted to affirm its long-standing stance on biblical marriage and human sexuality during its May meeting. But an email to supporters May 22 caused confusion. The email defined the biblical and historical understanding of biblical sexuality as “a union between a man and a woman and sexual intimacy within the context of that union.” But in the same email, the seminary's president also acknowledged that some “faithful” Christian denominations “have come to affirm other covenantal forms of relationship,” an unusual stance for an evangelical seminary. In his eponymous new biography of Sumner, Tameez portrays Sumner as a model of "moral ambition" who sacrificed a promising corporate law career to fight for racial justice.
