Benjamin L. Carp describes the fierce information war that followed the fire as both sides vied for public and international opinion. Figures like Benjamin Franklin and Robert Morris worked to protect the American reputation by insisting the fire was accidental. Conversely, the British used local newspapers to brand the rebels as arsonists and criminals. Curiously, formal correspondence between Generals Washington and Howe largely avoided the topic of the fire. This silence may reflect a "gentlemanly" code of the era, where neither commander wished to level such grave accusations without irrefutable proof, despite the ongoing propaganda battle. (6)1776

This is an excerpt from Chapter 5 of “Biblical & Social Justice: What Is It?,” entitled “A Nation Founded on Christian Principles?” Listening to the stories of Christian nationalists, one might become persuaded that the United States descended from heaven. Any assertion that the United States was founded on Biblical and Christian principles must also concede that slavery was part and parcel of an unbiblical and unChristian version of so-called Biblical and Christian principles. It is not necessary to attribute the founding of the nation to the Bible or an organized Christian effort. Any review of the actual history of the founding of the United States, absent spiritualized narratives, shows that highly educated and brilliant men were responsible for debating, working, and creating the founding philosophies and documents. All the Framers were informed by their education, experiences, and faith. They were also informed by selfish motivations and economic interests. It is noteworthy that the Framers decided not to include Scripture in the founding documents. This is consistent with their objective to avoid creating a nation controlled by the church or by religion. Below is a summary of the Framers: Almost all of the 55 Framers had taken part in the Revolution, with at least 29 having served in the Continental forces, most in positions of command. All but two or three had served in colonial or state government during their careers. The vast majority (about 75%) of the delegates were or had been members of the Confederation Congress, and many had been members of the Continental Congress during the Revolution. 25 had been state governors. More than half of the delegates had trained as lawyers (several had even been judges), although only about a quarter had practiced law as their principal means of business. Others were merchants, manufacturers, shippers, land speculators, bankers, or financiers. Several were physicians or small farmers, and one was a minister. Of the 25 who owned fellow humans, 16 depended on slave labor to run the plantations or other businesses that formed the mainstay of their income. Most of the delegates were landowners with substantial holdings, and most, except for Roger Sherman and William Few, were very comfortably wealthy. George Washington and Robert Morris were among the wealthiest men in the entire country. Much of that wealth was built through the unpaid labor of enslaved persons. Of the 55 Framers, only one was a Christian minister. Regarding the religious faith of the Framers: Of the 55 delegates to the 1787 Constitutional Convention, 28 were Anglicans, 21 were other Protestants, and two were Roman Catholics (D. Carroll and Fitzsimons). Among the Protestant delegates to the Constitutional Convention, eight were Presbyterians, seven were Congregationalists, two were Lutherans, two were Dutch Reformed, and two were Methodists. A few prominent Founding Fathers were anti-clerical notably Jefferson. It is a reach of imagination and romanticism to believe the 55 Framers acted as a group of Christians in consultation with the Scriptures and prayer. The work of the Framers, as is the case with most good work, owes to the skill of the persons working, whether Christian or non-Christian. One very significant factor argues against the rosy Christian nationalist perspective about our nation's founding: SLAVERY. For many of us, celebrating our nation's founding as a triumph of the Bible and Christianity is offensive given the treatment and property status of our ancestors. To be sure, the formation of the United States, developing the governing documents, and organizing independent colonies was a triumph of human enterprise and self-governing. The telling of history cannot overlook owning, selling, and abusing humans in the service of other humans used to build their economy, was decidedly ungodly. It was not something Jesus would have done. The historic facts regarding the formation of the nation are compelling reading without the hyperbole of a Christian nationalist narrative. The facts are far more interesting than the fabrications. -
For today's episode, Ed Dodson leads a discussion on Robert Morris, an American patriot in Revolutionary America. The origin story of the United States of America is filled with numerous twists and turns. The fact that the people and leaders of the 13 British colonies managed to earn their independence from the 18th century's most powerful naval and land power was anything but certain. However, winning independence required an army and a navy, as well as the capacity to provide all the goods necessary to match the enemy. In this lecture series, we present and discuss the role of Robert Morris, an American patriot who made it his life mission to coordinate and mobilize resources even when cooperation among the 13 States was difficult. To check out more of our content, including our research and policy tools, visit our website: https://www.hgsss.org/

Tara and Lee break down AOC's controversial history comments, escalating rhetoric online, and growing concerns over Iran and global instability. HOOK Did the American Revolution happen because Americans hated “billionaires”? Tara says Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just rewrote American history — and the fallout is exploding online. DESCRIPTION Today's AMPERWAVE DAILY dives into a firestorm surrounding comments from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez about the American Revolution and wealth in early America. Tara and Lee push back on claims that the Revolution was fundamentally a revolt against “billionaires,” pointing instead to figures like George Washington and financier Robert Morris, both wealthy supporters of independence. The conversation then shifts into growing concern over increasingly extreme political rhetoric online, including social media trends that critics say flirt with calls for political violence against Donald Trump. Tara and Lee examine the broader climate surrounding political anger, online radicalization, and reactions to former FBI Director James Comey. Later in the show, the hosts discuss escalating tensions involving Iran, attacks on shipping routes and U.S. interests in the Middle East, and frustrations among Trump supporters over foreign policy decisions and military responses. KEY TOPICS AOC controversy over American Revolution comments George Washington and Revolutionary War history Political rhetoric and online extremism Social media trends involving Trump James Comey controversy Concerns about political violence Iran tensions and U.S. military response Strait of Hormuz shipping threats MAGA frustrations over foreign policy SEGMENTS SEGMENT 1 — “AOC Rewrites American History?” Tara reacts to comments from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claiming the American Revolution was a fight against the “billionaires” of the era. The discussion focuses on Revolutionary War history and the role wealthy founders played in financing and leading the movement for independence. SEGMENT 2 — “George Washington vs. Modern Politics” The hosts highlight the legacy of George Washington, arguing that America's founding principles centered on resisting centralized government power and taxation rather than class warfare. SEGMENT 3 — “The Rise of Dangerous Political Rhetoric” Attention turns to increasingly aggressive online political messaging surrounding Donald Trump. Tara and Lee discuss social media trends, normalization of violent rhetoric, and concerns over how political discourse is escalating nationwide. SEGMENT 4 — “Iran, Trump & Foreign Policy Frustration” The episode closes with a heated discussion about Iran, attacks involving shipping lanes and U.S. assets, and uncertainty surrounding America's strategy in the Middle East. Tara questions whether the administration's current approach is sustainable as tensions continue rising. We all know about the perverse and repulsive behavior of the liberal-Biden administration, especially their seeming interest in exploiting children. However the saviors of the youth, MAGA Republicans, are not much better. They may even be worse. The Trump administration has actively protected sexual deviants in the name of exposing them. Data from the FBI and DOJ indicates that operations to save children under both of the recent White House administrations were standard procedure, and yet the Biden team actually prosecuted more people and saved more children according to the numbers. From Craig Long, Robert Morris and Rj May to Pete Hegseth, Linda McMahon, Laura Loomer, and Steve Bannon to the President himself, the entire MAGA movement is filled with some of the lowest life in the country -- nothing short of the Biden or Obama administrations, or Bush and Clinton. *The is the FREE archive, which includes advertisements. Bill hosts historian Rick Atkinson, Pulitzer Prize–winning author of a WWII trilogy and a new American Revolution trilogy, with two volumes out (The British Are Coming and The Fate of the Day) and a third he hopes to finish by 2031. Atkinson describes his archival research approach and argues the Revolution became an eight-year global war and an American civil war, turning especially brutal in the South. He highlights key turning points including Trenton/Princeton, Saratoga's role in bringing decisive French alliance, and French indispensability at Yorktown. He assesses Washington's early missteps and growth, Benedict Arnold's battlefield brilliance and festering grievances, Robert Morris's critical wartime financing, and women's essential roles. He discusses enslaved and Indigenous peoples' tragic outcomes, black participation on both sides, and concludes the Revolution's democratic aspirations remain unfinished and must be renewed to prevent future tyrannies. Yinz Are Good shares the *good* news going on out there and celebrates the good people who are making it happen: The people who are lifting others up, who are taking care of their neighbors, the people who are saying, “What can I do today to make our world a better place?".“I'd love to offer up a conversation with Dan Chiaverini, known to Robert Morris University students simply as “Chef Dan.” Dan has become something of a campus legend: a Harley-riding, Italian-raised chef who spends as much time talking with students in the dining hall as he does in the kitchen. Under his leadership, RMU Dining has become one of the most student-centered dining programs in Pennsylvania — recognized by Niche for its quality and community focus. Chef Dan leads a local food sourcing efforts program, works with doctors to create personalized meal plans for students with dietary needs and even teaches pasta-making and campfire cooking classes. At his core, Chef Dan embodies what Yinz Are Good celebrates — people who make Pittsburgh better through connection, care and community. His story blends food, mentorship and hometown pride, and his impact reaches far beyond the dining hall.” We received this email several weeks ago and it made our day. We talk a lot on this show about recognizing how we can each use our unique skillset to support others and build community, and Chef Dan is a prime example of that. He goes above and beyond for the students - these young adults who are away from home for the first time - and it means so much not only to them, but to their families too.Tressa sat down with Chef Dan in one of RMU's Academic Media Center recording studios and chatted about his journey, his Italian family, and, of course, about all he's doing at Robert Morris. The Dean's List with Host Dean Bowen – I bring students into a moment of curiosity and uncover the overlooked courage of Robert Morris and Charles Willing. I show how their fortunes fueled the Revolution, revealing that liberty depends not only on bold leaders, but on quiet sacrifice, character, and a willingness to risk everything for a greater cause...
In this episode of The More Freedom Foundation Podcast, host Robert Morris sits down with his sister, Gillian Morris, to explore a bold and increasingly relevant idea: could communal living help solve America's housing and loneliness crises?Drawing from her experience living in shared communities and her work as a published writer in The New York Times, Gillian unpacks the concept of “supernuclear living” a modern take on age-old communal lifestyles. She shares real-world examples, including thriving co-living spaces where families share resources, childcare, and daily life in ways that dramatically reduce costs and increase quality of life. The conversation dives into how the United States shifted away from community-oriented housing, why the current model is failing many people, and how intentional communities could reshape everything from parenting to affordability. Gillian also addresses the biggest concerns people have about communal living—conflict, privacy, and long-term sustainability—and explains why, despite the challenges, more people are starting to reconsider what “home” really means. If you've ever felt the strain of rising housing costs, isolation, or the pressures of modern family life, this episode offers a compelling look at an alternative that might just be part of the solution.Follow Gillian's work on her Substack SuperNuclearRob's links:SubstackPatreonWebsiteBooksTwitterTikTok
“Washington and Hamilton were governed by Willing.” — John Adams, 1813Thomas Willing voted against the Declaration of Independence. He was the wealthiest man in Philadelphia, the largest merchant trader in North America, an Anglican slave trader printing money. So he saw little reason to declare independence from Britain. Especially since the renegades — the poor Scots-Irish Presbyterians flooding into the country, the MAGA people of their day — had no love of wealthy aristocrats like himself. And then Willing did something that took everyone, even perhaps himself, by surprise: he financed the very revolution he'd voted against. In The Banker Who Made America, the financial historian Richard Vague tells a story that reframes the Founding. After Bunker Hill, Willing financed the smuggling of gunpowder via the Caribbean at a critical moment in the struggle against the British. He and his partner Robert Morris became the principal suppliers of finance and other essential materiel for the revolution. When the Continental Currency collapsed in inflationary chaos, it was Willing's bank that financed the second half of the war. The purpose of America's first bank, like the Bank of England before it, was to fund war. Without it, there would have been no successful revolution. But the real revelation in the Willing story is political. Pennsylvania radicals created the most democratic constitution in American history — an annually elected lower house, neither an upper house nor a governor with veto power. Willing and his fellow financial elites like George Washington and Alexander Hamilton hated this form of people's democracy. So when they showed up in 1787 to write the US Constitution, they'd learned their lesson: too much democracy is dangerous to the wealthy. The result — an unelected Senate, an unelected president, judges appointed for life — was, as Vague puts it, “a counterrevolution against democracy.” Even Thomas Paine ended up on Willing's payroll. This Philadelphia story became the American story. Follow the money. Five Takeaways• Thomas Willing Voted Against Independence — Then Financed It: The wealthiest man in Philadelphia, the largest merchant trader in North America, an Anglican coastal elite making money hand over fist. He voted against the Declaration of Independence on July 2, 1776. Then he smuggled gunpowder through the Caribbean, funded the Continental Army, and created America's first bank to finance the back half of the war. John Adams wrote that Washington and Hamilton were “governed by Willing.” Nobody knows his name.• The Constitution Was a Counterrevolution Against Democracy: Pennsylvania radicals created the most democratic constitution in American history — annually elected lower house, no upper house, no governor with veto power. Willing and the financial elites clawed it back. The 1787 US Constitution gave America an unelected Senate, an unelected president, and judges appointed for life. Vague calls it a counterrevolution. The tension between money and democracy has never stopped shaping American politics.• Even Thomas Paine Ended Up on Willing's Payroll: The great radical pamphleteer, author of Common Sense, defender of the rights of man — working for the financial elite he should have loathed. Man's gotta eat. It tells you everything about the relationship between money and idealism in the American founding.• The Revolution Wasn't About High Taxes: Americans' tax burden was lighter than Britain's. The real causes were financial: George Washington wanted to speculate on land west of the Appalachians. Willing wanted to start a bank. The British prevented both. The revolution was capitalism demanding permission to operate. Follow the money, Vague argues, and most history that's written without its financial dimension is incomplete.• Some Things Never Change: The purpose of America's first bank was to fund war. The Bank of England was created for the same reason in 1694. The Pentagon is seeking $200 billion for Iran as we speak. American debt has grown to $39 trillion. Willing was the only person ever to turn down the US government for a loan — and he did it twice. We could use a Willing now. About the GuestRichard Vague is a businessman, banker, and commentator on economics. He is the former Secretary of Banking and Securities for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. His books include The Banker Who Made America (Polity, 2026), The Case for a Debt Jubilee, and The Paradox of Debt.References:• The Banker Who Made America by Richard Vague (Polity, 2026) — the book under discussion.• Adam Gopnik, “Who Bankrolled the American Revolution?” — The New Yorker review referenced in the conversation.• Episode 2842: Symbolic Capitalism vs. Symbolic Democracy — yesterday's TWTW on whether capitalism permits democracy or the reverse. Willing is the proof.• Philadelphia Citizen excerpt — an excerpt from the book covering Willing's vote against independence.About Keen On AmericaNobody asks more awkward questions than the Anglo-American writer and filmmaker Andrew Keen. Over six decades and counting, the postmodern choreographer and dancer Lucinda Childs has built an exceptional, category-defining body of work grounded in a style that draws as much from “pedestrian,” everyday movements as it does from her foundational ballet training. Emerging out of the 1960s Judson Dance Theater in New York City, Childs founded her namesake company in 1973 and has created more than 50 works since. This year will see two major New York presentations of her pieces—the first, from March 14–15 at the Guggenheim, will restage five of her early dances, most of them silent; the second, titled “Momentary Reprise,” will be showcased at Bard College's Fisher Center from June 26–28 and include her collaborations with the likes of Frank Gehry, Philip Glass, and Robert Wilson. On this episode—our Season 13 opener—Childs reflects on her various experimental collaborations with Glass and Wilson; her profound perspectives on time through the lens of choreography and performance; and how she has remained unapologetically steadfast in refining her highly distinctive approach to dance. Special thanks to our Season 13 presenting partner, L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts. RMU men's basketball coach Andy Toole joined the show. RMU had 3,500 fans last night against YSU with a very loud atmosphere. It took a little bit for his guys to settle in. RMU had a much better second half than first. Last year's team was more athletic than this season and this year's team is about helping each other and make the right decisions. RMU is two wins away from the NCAA Tournament.

Andy got into the pace of the Horizon League and how his team has adjusted as the season has progressed. Andy told the guys about a few players that helped form this year's team, after losing a ton of players from the team that made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2025. March doesn't feel as fun when Pitt basketball is at such a low point. The Panthers are at risk of missing the ACC tournament, which only requires you to be a top 15 team in the conference. The women's coach just fired its coach, which looks like another bad hire made by Heather Lyke. How did all of these coaches get such good job security? Somehow Lyke is continuing to get and be up for jobs in sports. Robert Morris men's basketball coach Andy Toole joined the show. On today's program, a judge has denied the request of two Gateway Church elders who were seeking to be dismissed from a defamation lawsuit filed by Robert Morris' sexual abuse victim, Cindy Clemishire. We'll have details. Also, three seminaries and one Christian college have partnered with Kanakuk Institute to train Christian leaders—but abuse advocates are crying foul, saying the partnership could send the wrong message, potentially glossing over Kanakuk's checkered past. Plus, a new study shows that despite federal funding cuts, most nonprofits are still reporting a revenue increase. And, Best Christian Workplaces champions 310 faith-based organizations. But first, another Christian college has announced that it's closing its doors at the end of this school year. Until next time, may God bless you.
Facing backlash for visiting disgraced pastor Robert Morris in prison and declaring him forgiven by God, Mercy Culture Pastor Landon Schott unleashed on critics. In this podcast, we examine whether Schott's response aligns with Scripture or could be described as spiritual abuse.

RMU men's basketball coach Andy Toole joined the show. RMU is starting to hit its stride in the Horizon League. RMU has one guy from its team a year ago that almost beat Alabama. Players are always trying to move up and play at the highest level, or high major players moving down to mid majors to put up better stats. Toole addressed how frustrating it was that one of their players was point shaving and the lack of respect for the game.
America’s revolutionary war would have almost certainly been lost if not for the colony’s wealthiest merchant. Thomas Willing was a prominent Philadelphia merchant and financier who, in partnership with Robert Morris, operated one of the colonies' most successful importing and exporting firms, specializing in goods such as flour, lumber, tobacco, and sugar, while later using his wealth and mercantile connections to supply the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. After the War, he brought sanity to the unstable early American economy. America was suffocating under a massive, unmanageable national debt owed to foreign lenders, domestic soldiers, and creditors, and lacking the power to tax effectively under the Articles of Confederation. The currency situation was disastrous, with various state-issued paper monies having depreciated drastically—leading to inflation and a widespread lack of confidence in the financial stability of the new republic. Thomas Willing stabilized the nascent American economy by serving as the first president of both the Bank of North America and the First Bank of the United States, where his conservative fiscal leadership established the nation’s credit and transformed the central bank into the "great regulating wheel" of the country's financial system. Today’s guest is Richard Vague, author of “The Banker Who Made America: Thomas Willing and the Rise of the American Financial Aristocracy.” We discuss how Willing bankrolled–and in the process helped save–the American Revolution, and then shaped the financial architecture of our young Republic. So powerful was Willing that President John Adams complained that George Washington and Alexander Hamilton were governed by him.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We open the show by roasting the Super Bowl halftime outrage, Trump's remarks about Bad Bunny just days after a racist monkey meme video, and of course, we roast the strange silence around far more serious stories dominating the news cycle, like the "Epstein Files"Then we dive into our main story of the episode:Was Landon Schott's response after visiting Robert Morris in prison truly biblical, or did something about it feel off and out of touch?Join us on "The Rip" as Zach Rippey unpacks the controversy surrounding Pastor Landon Schott's prison visit with Robert Morris, affirming that mercy, forgiveness, and prison ministry are clearly biblical. But I also wrestle honestly with what happens when mercy goes public, critics are labeled “demonic,” and the voices of victims feel sidelined in the conversation. We watch Landon's response video and this isn't a cancel culture rant or a hit piece; it's a real-time processing of leadership, accountability, and how the Church navigates abuse, repentance, and restoration in front of a watching world... even when they don't go to "Your church." Again, I like a lot of what Landon Schott does, but this one just felt off, arrogant, and prideful when I believe he knew people would be triggered by his prison visit. It's like poking a beehive and getting mad when the bees start buzzing around you. Except these Bees don't like it when Pastors sexually abuse children... We close the show by zooming out to cultural leadership failures outside of the church, from Trump's halftime comments to tone-deaf accountability... asking how Christians should respond when power, ego, and poor judgment collide. Welcome back to Hardcore Penn State Football, the go-to podcast for hardcore analysis, recruiting scoops, and unapologetic takes on the Nittany Lions! In this episode – dropping January 28, 2026 – hosts Shawn Kane and Cory Lestochi unpack a massive week in Happy Valley as the Matt Campbell era ramps up. We're diving into the freshly released 2026 Big Ten schedule, the transfer portal's chaotic close with key wins and losses, Beaver Stadium's transformation into a hockey haven, and the flurry of offers to the 2027 class following a pivotal visit weekend. From on-field projections to offseason buzz, this episode sets the stage for PSU's bounce-back year – don't miss it! The wait is over – the Big Ten drops the 2026 football slate, and Penn State's path looks primed for contention under Campbell! Shawn breaks down the full lineup: Non-con openers vs. Marshall (Sept. 5, home), at Temple (Sept. 12), and vs. Buffalo (Sept. 19, home); Big Ten kicks off with Wisconsin (Sept. 26, home - potential Stripeout), at Northwestern (Oct. 3), USC (Oct. 10, home - Whiteout candidate), at Michigan (Oct. 17), bye (Oct. 24), Purdue (Oct. 31, home), at Washington (Nov. 7), Minnesota (Nov. 14, home), at Rutgers (Nov. 21), and Maryland (Nov. 28, home). Cory analyzes tough road tests (Michigan, Washington) vs. favorable home draws, early win projections (9-3 floor?), and how Campbell's schemes exploit matchups. We debate fan themes, travel logistics, and playoff implications in the expanded CFP era. The winter portal slammed shut on January 16, capping a wild rebuild for PSU with over 40 departures but a massive influx of talent – including 39 transfers and 11 high school signees for over 50 newcomers! Cory spotlights additions like edge rusher Elijah Reeder (late 2026 signee from New Jersey), seven new defensive linemen for trench depth, and RB Cam Wallace's portal withdrawal for a return. Shawn covers losses like DE Chaz Coleman and QB Ethan Grunkemeyer, mixed grades (strong Iowa State pipeline but underwhelming elsewhere), early enrollees, and how this reshapes the roster for spring ball. We discuss NIL impacts, retention successes, and Big Ten comparisons. Happy Valley's iconic venue goes winter wonderland! Beaver Stadium hosts Penn State men's hockey vs. Michigan State on January 31 at 1 PM, with public skating kicking off today (Jan. 28) and women's hockey vs. Robert Morris the day before. Shawn shares the time-lapse of the ice rink setup, ticket info, and fan excitement for this historic outdoor clash. Cory discusses the games, weather prep, and how it boosts PSU's multi-sport vibe – plus, crossover appeal for football fans tailgating in the snow! KDKA TV's Bob Pompeani joined the show. The guys gave Pomp credit for picking the Penguins to make the playoffs before the season, which is looking quite good right now. Bob isn't in favor of the Steelers trying for another retread at QB and hopes Will Howard gets the reigns in 2026. Pomp doesn't want to go down the Kyler Murray well, referencing the work ethic concern. Pomp thanked his parents for his lifelong hard work. Bob gave a shout to Robert Morris and Duquesne hoops for a little revival and dealing with the current format of college sports. Bob wondered how the Penguins are going to deal with the goaltender situation looming down the road. Bob let the guys know he is still on Tik Tok, but doesn't like the editing process. He hopes that he has a sit-down with Mike McCarthy soon.
Nick Farabaugh told Donny on Monday night that Mike McCarthy ‘likes' Kyler Murray and his game. Would he be a real option as the Steelers next QB? Does his work ethic worry you? Does his ability worry you? The guys think there are some real questions with Murray's game all-around. He has real talent, but could be a classic case of talent that lacks hard work. Is McCarthy the man to unlock it? Poni said he would be interested with this move if the Cardinals ate some of his money and it didn't require a high draft pick. He also noted that we have seen QBs in the last few years that were drafted highly one place and finally flourished elsewhere, like Sam Darnold. Chris pointed out that Murray is oddly better outdoors than indoors. KDKA TV's Bob Pompeani joined the show. DIPLOMATIC COUPS AND THE WEAK CONFEDERATION Colleague Joseph Ellis. John Jay secured a diplomatic triumph by defying instructions to consult the French, negotiating directly with Britain to establish the Mississippi River as the western border. Post-war, the government was a loose confederation of sovereign states rather than a unified nation, leaving it ill-equipped to handle slavery or indigenous rights. Robert Morris, the "Financier," personally funded the army's demobilization when Congress failed to pay the troops. NUMBER 71821
On today's special year-end episode, Natasha Cowden and Warren Smith look at the top 25 stories of the year as voted on by you, the MinistryWatch reader. These are the stories that got the top number of page views for the year. Of course, the number of page views is not the only way to measure the impact of a story. So Warren will be sprinkling in some commentary throughout the episode that we hope will put some of these stories in a larger context. We'll also talk about a few surprises in this year's list. For example, the Robert Morris story did not make this list at all. We did a lot of reporting on Robert Morris this year, but the most read story on Morris came in at #48 on our list. Also, the Dave Ramsey story – our number one story — got more than 200,000 page views, which is by far the most page views an individual story has ever gotten here at MinistryWatch. Speaking of numbers, we have some metrics related to MinistryWatch. Our website got four million page views this year. That is by far the most page views we have seen in our 26-year history. I also wanted to mention that Kim Roberts wrote eleven of the 25 stories on this year's list, and I wanted to commend her for her excellent reporting this year. Christina Darnell, our managing editor, edited every single one of the nearly 900 stories that went on our website this year, and she compiled this year's Top 25 list. The producer for today's program is Jeff McIntosh. To see this complete list, along with links to the original stories, just go to MinistryWatch.com. Until next year, may God bless you.
