Leaving the comfort zone of a 9-5 job and entering the business world is no bed of roses, and if anyone would know this, it is Fiona Grayson from She Can She did. Fi has dedicated the past four years of her career to interviewing women business-owners in their twenties and thirties, getting a front-row seat to the ups and downs of running your own business. In one of my most authentic conversations to date, Fi shares with me her personal journey of leaving the 9-5 world at the age of 25 and the ups and downs of running her own business. We also discuss what it takes to keep going when times get tough, what she’s learnt from interviewing so many inspiring women and why it’s so important to know your ‘why’. This episode is for you if you have been contemplating setting up your own thing, wanting to follow a dream, or just love listening in to a good natter. I've always admired the way Fi has built She Can She Did, giving it her all and making really strong relationships along the way. In this week's episode of Winging It I'm talking to Fiona Grayson from She Can She Did all about what it's really like to launch a business. Lots of people follow female founders on Instagram and think it's easy, but there's so much that goes on behind closed doors. So we're talking all about what's behind the door and why you shouldn't take what's on Instagram for face value.Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lucyhitchcock_/She Can She Did Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/shecanshedid/The Edit Album: https://www.blix-creative.com/theeditalbum-buynow Hosted on Acast. ON FIONA: Fiona is the founder of She Can She Did where she shines the light on impressive, self starter women in business. ‘The overall aim of SCSD is to demystify what goes on behind the scenes to create a successful company sans the sugar coating and encourage more young women that they too can do the same’. She also regularly runs SCSD midweek mingles which get sold out before you notice. Yet with all that growing success you won’t meet a more kind, selfless, interested and warm hearted person. She’s interviewed me a year ago for her blog (which you can read here) and since then it was obvious we’ll be friends. She sold me on her awesomeness the moment she turned up to the interview in her pink coat. WHY FIONA: don’t be fooled by this lady’s age (yes she’s young!) or the angel-like smile. Fiona means business, is savvy, smart, highlights weekly the most amazing business women in UK and knows what she wants. Watch this space everyone! She can, she did, she will!

Do you ever find yourself stepping just outside of your comfort zone necessary? Stopping yourself from taking chances or risks to build strength and confidence? Today I want to talk about what it means to be brave when the chance of failure is high. And why it matters to show up for yourself and believe in yourself and your truth when all you want to do is retreat and hide. Check out the She Can & She Did podcast on iTunes and Google Play! For the past few months, I found myself making this joke that I was in purgatory. Which is ridiculous because after four years, busting my ass, trying to get a seat at the table, I finally had one. I quickly realized that it wasn't that I was unhappy being apart of the running world, but that I was ready for more. Running has always and will always be a big part of my life. But running isn't who I am, it's just something that helps me put my strongest foot forward. The last few months, I've been working hard on my next chapter, She Can & She Did. I've dragged my feat, struggled to come to terms with putting myself out there and having no one care, and most importantly, defining what success looks like. But when it comes to taking a chance on my purpose, I realized that just like running, the only way I'll fail is if I fail to try.
