In this week's episode of Good Trades, Emile couldn't make it due to War of The Spark Pre-Re... I mean, Post-Release exhaustion. And so we invited our good friend Chad from Reimaru Files! Migs talks about chilling out after 3 grueling weeks of Sekiro by playing an adventure game called Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors. Migoy continues his Netflix homework by giving us what the second season of She-Ra and Baki The Grappler are all about. Chad shares his thoughts on the Switch version of Final Fantasy 12. Lastly, Raffy shares his experience during this year's Cause Con! As we've said before, we finally attended the War of The Spark PreRelease event that was postponed in the Philippines by Wizards of the Coast. Nevertheless, we get to enjoy this new and wild set along with friends. Surprisingly effective decks were brewed, spells were slung, and Planeswalkers were desparked! And to top it off, we managed to snag some wild pulls off of our PreRelease kits and prize packs! Totally a good trade and a good midnight pr. After a week off to run the War of the Spark Prerelease, the boys are back in town! This week we're tackling the Mythic Edition fiasco, our thoughts on the perfect storm of Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Pokemon releasing expansions on the same day, and what Aaron REALLY thinks about Iowa. Let's go! Open and closing music by Orboscope. Check them out on freesound.org
Jemand hatte das beste Magic the Gathering Erlebnis seiner Karriere. Erfahrt wer von beiden Franz ist! In this episode of Good Trades we were all shaken by the announcement of Wizards of the Coast moving War of The Spark PreRelease events in our country to next week! Migs instead talks about Cobra Kai and how he suffered fighting the Guardian Ape in Sekiro. Emile gets back to playing Final Fantasy XIV. Migoy talks more Re;Zero and Ultraman. Finally, Raffy (and mostly all of us) talks about people's reactions while watching Avengers: Endgame, War of The Spark, spoilers in general and how people become assholes whenever new movies or tv episodes come out. Also new in this episode, we introduce a new segment called "Gonna Rec It!", where each of us recommend something to our audience! In this episode, the following were endorsed: Emile Recommends: Final Fantasy XIV (game is now on discount thanks to Golden Week) Miguel Recommends: Unheard (Steam) Raffy Recommends: Gris (Steam/Switch) Migoy Recommends: Boundary Break (Youtube Channel) Intro Track by Simpsonhill youtu.be/hLOs8o0Jb_w Support our podcast by becoming a patron! The War of the Spark is upon us! That means it's time for another Prerelease! Three of the dorks are at House of Cards in Winston-Salem, NC to go to battle! But this episode isn't just Chewie, Mike, and Brian talking about their pools! We have a variety of guests on this episode! Mike's cousin Joseph showed up for the Prerelease too! Mike & Brian both played against the lovely Chase (@ManaCurves on Twitter), so she joined us for two round recaps! But our super special guest was none other than one Samantha Baker, who was playing in her VERY FIRST prerelease! Tara, the manager of House of Cards, took her under her wing to help her build her deck and play her games! And she even finished with a better record than one of the dorks! Holy crap! Come join us in the future! The show is live on Thursdays around 8pm(ish) Eastern time on Twitch! MASTERPIECES KEHREN ZURÜCK !!! ... so halb. KYT, Elliot, Derek, Andy, and Jonathan talk about their experiences at Magic Fest Toronto, the Modern metagame, and a Prerelease as a Grand Prix??? (00:01:20) Andy played Izzet Phoenix to great results on both Friday and Saturday of MF Toronto, and Elliot rode the Phoenix to top 8 of the Sunday MFQ. Is it the best deck in Modern? But can the Whir Prison deck lose to anything? What cards in Modern can beat it? (00:15:16) Why did Derek wear chainmail all weekend at MF Toronto? Is Burn well- or poorly-positioned in Modern right now? Why Burn will never be broken. (00:21:08) Are pros less likely to attend Magic Fests? Are the Pro Tour Qualifiers a better event to play? Are the events softer as a result? (00:25:48) How is the Standard Mythic grid going for Derek on MTGArena? Why is Sultai not good on MTGArena, even though it's great in paper? Why Jonathan thinks White-Blue Aggro is well-placed going into his RPTQ this weekend. What would Derek play in the RPTQ this weekend, if he weren't already qualified? How do you predict the metagame? (00:39:04) Prerelease Grand Prix at Magic Fest London! Reactions? Is this an amazing opportunity for the players or just a grab by CFB for money from local stores? (00:48:54) KYT was providing independent coverage of the Magic Fest for Face to Face Games this weekend. Is the trade off of less official coverage for more Magic Fest events worth it? Is third-party coverage the right move in an MTGArena future? --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/firststrike/support
