Hello Adventurers! Well, here we are again. There has been a brand new patch, and we are here to talk about it all! Well… at least a lot of it, anyroad. We cover some of the less spoiler-y parts of patch 7.3 The Promise of Tomorrow, before really digging into spoilers talking about the MSQ, dungeon, the trial, and more! That more includes a bunch of things that has just happened, but also things that are happening right now… But also in the future? This podcast contains multitudes, and we welcome you to come listen.Spoiler Levels: DAM! This rainbow energy beverage will allegedly bestow the drinker with metaphorical fangs to gnaw through any challenge and do their DAM-dest. Excessive consumption is ill-advised… But only if you haven't filled yourself up with all that Patch 7.3 MSQ goodness! If it is the case that you have, you're free and clear to listen away. In this week's episode of the Gaming Round Table, we tackle a wide array of gaming news and debates. We kick off the discussion with Helldivers 2 making its way to Xbox. Is this a strategic masterstroke by Sony or a case of too little, too late? Our panelists dive into the significance of this move and its implications for Xbox's future. Next, we shift gears to discuss the controversial $42 price tag on a set of cosmetics in Final Fantasy XIV. Is this pricing outrageous or justified? As we unpack the details, the conversation drifts into the potential implications for Final Fantasy XIV Mobile and the broader gaming industry. The discussion then turns to the perceived identity crisis at Xbox. With the recent layoffs at Microsoft and mixed messaging about the console's future, we ask: Are Xbox consoles on the brink of extinction? Amidst the concerns, we also examine the broader implications for consumers and how this shapes the gaming landscape. To wrap things up, the Round Table engages in a critical conversation about digital rights and the 'Stop Killing Games' initiative. We provide insights into the industry's evolving approach to game ownership and the preservation of gaming history. This episode offers an in-depth look at the ever-changing dynamics of the gaming world, including what our panelists are currently playing and how these trends affect everyday gamers.

In this episode of the Gaming Round Table, we delve deep into the world of Final Fantasy with a special focus on Final Fantasy XIV. Join us as we welcome back guests Cole, Moogan, and Scrag, who bring their unique insights into the current state of the game. We tackle the controversies and frustrations surrounding the Final Fantasy XIV community, questioning whether these represent standard cycles or signal larger issues for the game's future. The conversation also expands to Square Enix's recent announcements about exploring turn-based JRPGs, hinting at a return to their roots. Our guests share their opinions on whether Final Fantasy should bifurcate into separate action and turn-based branches to satisfy diverse player expectations. We also explore the realm of job identity and new features for the anticipated 8.0 expansion. With an unlimited budget as a playful hypothetical, ideas range from revitalizing the sub-job system to creating more complex roles within the game. Our discussion wouldn't be complete without addressing the role of Yoshi P, whose influence on the franchise has been monumental, yet whose workload appears overwhelming. We ask if it's time for him to focus on new projects or even a brand-new Final Fantasy MMO. Tune in to hear these perspectives and more, and stay plugged into the developments that could shape the future of this beloved gaming series!
(Slapping the hood of an MMO) This baby can fit so much fanservice in it! More than just a few references to FFVI, Final Fantasy XIV is jam-packed with magitek armors from all over the history of Final Fantasy, including making some designs that weren't magitek into such. Sadly, it doesn't do much with the designs of Final Fantasy XV, but... well, there's always time. You can find a video version of this podcast for free on Scanline Media's Patreon! The Rushdown crew is back with another week of gaming chaos, and boy, is it a mess. GTA VI just dropped its second trailer, and the internet is already dissecting every frame—will it actually hit that 2025 release date? Meanwhile, Palworld is in legal hell as a lawsuit forces the devs to remove gliding and ball-throwing mechanics (so… is it even Palworld anymore?).Nintendo's latest baffling decision? Switch voice chat now requires a phone number—because nothing says "fun online gaming" like giving Big N your digits. Over at Square Enix, things are dire: they've announced no new games until 2027, meaning we're stuck with Final Fantasy XIV expansions and copium for years. In corporate villainy news:SAG-AFTRA is coming for Epic Games after an AI Darth Vader allegedly screwed over voice actors.Bungie got caught stealing art for Marathon—because nothing says "live-service revival" like a side of plagiarism. And of course, Randy Pitchford opens his mouth AGAIN, because why wouldn't he?Tune in for the drama, deep dives, and dumb takes on another wild week in gaming!
Good games are good. And we've played some GOOD games. We didn't know we needed to play Blue Prince but we love it, and must play more. Monster Train 2 is more of the same, which is a very good thing. Final Fantasy XIV unleashed is Field Operation patch and its a solid compliment to the game, though many say they aren't returning to play it. Elden Ring Nightreign approaches. And more! We made so many friends playing World of Warcraft. In fact, that's how you and I got to know each other. It was an interesting dynamic because unlike most of today's games there's not even voice. How about we did have vent. Which was amazing to use. A couple of days ago we lost Caoboi he gave a lot to the community. He met his wife, Iceflow in World of Warcraft and the two of them have been on the Podcast on multiple occasions. Coincidentally, if you listen to last weeks episode, you heard the clan of darkness theme song at the end, that was written produced and saying by that wonderful couple and my heart breaks to know. https://www.twitch.tv/aprilpvd https://www.twitch.tv/aprilpvdvr https://www.youtube.com/aprilpvd
