Wes is joined by Comics Aficionados: award-winning comic book editor Joe Corallo, comic book YouTubers  Tristen from Nerdette's Newsstand and Nerdygirlcreates, comic book retailer Pele from Parts Unknown and co-host Dok. The Comics Aficionados break down all the latest comic book industry news and rumors. Comic book icon Frank was scheduled to be the guest of honor at the upcoming Thought Bubble Comic Con in the UK. That was until the thought police took down another industry legend. Zainab Akhtar and others scored another scalp for cancel culture, cancelling Frank Miller's Thought Bubble appearance. (00:05:22) Speaking of scalps, Tom King successfully destroyed another classic DC Comics character. Adam Strange follows Tom King's string of character assignations of Batman, Mister Miracle, Wally West Flash, Mr. Terrific among others. (00:40:36) Jodie Whittacker's take on the classic Dr. Who character has seen longtime fans engaging in a cicil war of sorts. BBC announced Jodie Whitacker and Dr. Who showrunner Chris Chibnall are leaving the series this year. (01:04:20) Snake Eyes is meant to revive the fledgling G.I. JOE movie franchise. Unfortunately, Paramount decided to abandon everything that made the character interesting the past 40 years. Snake Eyes bombed at the box office, demonstrating once again fans are tired of Hollywoods relentless identity plotics and pandering. (00:1:19:50) Superman: Son of Kal El sees Jon Kent ascend to his fathers mantel for the first time in mainline DC continuity. Tom Taylor is taking the character in a direction his father would never go. (01:35:40) Marvel Comics had two extremely fun fan favorite comic releases this week; Amazing Spider-Man #71 and Amazing Fantasy #1. (01:49:57) Finally, Scott Snyder inked a massive Comixology Originals deal this week. Brining talents like Greg Capullo, Jock, Francis Manual and others with him. The Comics Aficionados break down all the latest comic book industry news and rumors. Comic book luminary Frank Miller was scheduled to be the guest of honor at the upcoming Thought Bubble Comic Con. Unfortunately, Mr. Miller will no longer be attending after Thought Bubble coordinators were put on blast by Zainab Akhtar for his work on Hill Terror over a decade ago. Another feather in the cap of the woke mob. (00:00:00) Kevin Smith's Masters of the Universe: Revelation was blasted by long time He-Man fans. Paramount Pictures Snake Eyes bombed at the box office after not honoring the character origins. Hollywood is already making excuses and blaming fans rather than owning up to their own mistakes. (00:23:13) Not surprising, since Hollywood is incapable of delivering anything of substance or original. Wes and Mark Pellegrini discuss the depressing state of comics and entertainment. (00:44:31) Mark and Wes then discuss Vertigo Comics original editor Karen Berger gaslighting longtime comic book fans at Comic Con@Home 2021. (01:05:15) Mark Millar shined a light on the depressing state of comic book artist pay in 2021. Wes and Dok break down all the details. (01:28:24) Speaking of Comic Con@Home 2021, Jordan White and the X-Men creators spoke at length regarding the upcoming late of X-Men comics. (01:51:25) Tom Taylor's Superman: Son of Kal El debuted this week. Wes breaks down why he takes exception with the portrayal of the new Superman. (02:14:31) Finally, viewers asked Wes and Aaron Sparrow to watch and discuss Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. They hold nothing back with a scathing review. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this months' installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour! Making a triumphant return to The Parlour and promising to be nicer to Stacey than when he was last on is the lovely-jubbly cartoonist and podcaster, Luke Foster! The pair talk about an inordinate amount of pop culture-y goodness; expect spoilers for Spectre and most episodes of Rick and Morty, plus some less spoilery chat about Supergirl, The Vision #1, Steven Universe, Art Ops #1, Adventure Time and a ton more besides. All this, plus Stacey tries to tackle to tough topic of comedy on difficult subjects whilst being super-tired and therefore fails miserably! (Basically, she's trying to say that she thinks pretty much nothing should be off limits comedy and jokes-wise, but you absolutely have the right to not find it funny).Stacey regales Luke with some tales of her adventures at Thought Bubble Comic Con, Luke puts Stacey on his enemies list, and the pair absolutely lose their minds over Regular Show.Enjoy!Episode Theme - 'Get Schwifty' from Rick and Morty S2E5 (performed by Justin Roiland)End Theme - 'Black Sun' by Death Cab For Cutie

We wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! That's right, it's Christmastime, and what better way to celebrate than with a nice scrummy portion of tasty podcast goodness? This episode of The Parlour sees Stacey joined by returning guest and person-still-willing-to-share-a-hotel-room-with-Stacey; Jenni Newman! The ladies recall their experiences at Thought Bubble Comic Con in Leeds last month, chatting about their nerves approaching the Gods and Goddesses of Comicdom, their purchases, sharing a hotel room, and the highlights of the con. Also contains a somewhat spoilery review of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special (can you say HELL YEAH?!) and a lot of gushing about Jamie Smart's Kochi Wanaba hardback.Stacey and Jenni also get all festive up in here, naming their Top 3 Christmas Films! So grab a nice hot chocolate (or a mulled wine, if you're feeling properly festive), a wedge of Christmas pud (or, if like Stacey you hate the fruits involved in a Christmas pud, a slice of Yule log) and enjoy this latest installment of Stacey's Pop Culture Parlour!Episode Theme - 'Cool Yule' by Bette MidlerEnd Theme - 'Sleigh Ride' by She & HimPS. Hello, Stacey here to say 2 things;1. Once again I have to apologise for some technical issues; I actually did quite well editing out the zillion-and-one times one of us lost audio entirely and we had to drop the call, but there are still some weird things going on. Occasionally it skips bits of our sentences, and we lose sound on Jenni once or twice, and I apologise. I reckon it's Skynet trying to sabotage me...2. MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thank you to all those who choose to spend their spare time listening to me and my buddies ramble about the things we do/read/see/listen to; I am very thankful for every single listener, and I hope you all have a fun, safe, happy, pressie-filled Christmas, and all the best for the New Year! Have fun and be merry, y'all!!S x
