Looking back at this film, it's pretty weird. It's already been publicly discussed how odd the main romantic relationship is. But we just kinda skip over it, because it's a cartoon. This definitely gave me Avengers Infinity War vibes, with the different stones that each have different powers. Make room for the new generation. I came into this show thinking Robin would be my favorite (because of Batman), but Aqualad is really dope. There's a weird kind of comfort I feel when watching this show. There's no shortage of sitcom adult animated series out there in the world. But Bojack stands out, for a reason that I can't quite put my finger on. Maybe it's the mixture of the humans and animal characters? Hilda is delightful. It's mostly just a nice, slice of life story about this girl that used to live in the woods. Now she has some friends who also have their quirks, and they kinda go on adventures. This is the movie that made Spider-Man my favorite superhero character. Every Spider-Man in this movie was interesting, and fun, and I want to see more of them. The look and feel of this move was groundbreaking. This is truly a masterpiece. I' not saying this is the greatest animated film ever made. But I feel like Spongebob was firing on all cylinders when this move came out, so there was a lot to live up to. Fans would be disappointed if it just felt like a long episode of the show. How can you improve upon perfection? Shrek 2 will show you how. This movie adds new elements that don't feel like filler. They expand the universe in a fun and clever way. And there are still stakes that we care about the outcome of. My absolute favorite anime movie (at the time of writing this). I hate everyone in the first part of this movie Why bully the deaf girl? Even as kids, that seems harsh. The emotional drama that ensues is physically draining. One of my favorite modern cartoons. Easily. Luz and Amity are the cutest thing ever. The peeling back of the layers of Eda's character is amazing. The mystery of King is a rollercoaster. Even the "side characters" are given lots of energy, like Gus and Willow. I can't wait to see how this story ends. The metaphor of the red panda is very clever. I need to see more of this friend group, jus having some normal teenager misadventures. The mom is supremely overbearing this entire film, and it hurts me to watch. Especially some of those cringe moments. But this all mixes together, and forms a wonderful coming-of-age tale. Adding dragons to something, instantly makes anything cooler. Especially when there's different types of dragons. "Night Fury" is also the illest name for a dragon. It's a hotel...for monsters. Other than the fact that it's built upon the belief that ALL humans would reject monsters and take any chance to hunt them to extinction, I think this is a great idea. Tohru is too pure. She just walks through life blissful as can be. But she carries her own type of trauma, that doubles as an unintentional device to help the ones she loves. I feel like this is a dream for some, and a nightmare for others. Going back to high school is quite the decision. Honestly, the penguins steal the show for me. I love characters who just pop up every now and again, but do wacky things. Who would've thought that these little birds would basically be secret agents, capable of a mutiny? Of course, the gang of animals getting stranded on "Connecticut" is a fun ride as well. Shrek is love, Shrek is life. Memes aside, this movie is legitimately good. There's a reason it spawned three sequels (and possibly a fourth?). Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy are a great pair, and never stop firing off jokes. I mention it more than necessary in this episode, but I'm in awe of how much emotion the characters can portray with almost no dialogue between the two main characters. Not only that, it's pretty cool to see a dinosaur fight stuff. Light deserved this, right? I'm not sure that the ends justify the means in this scenario. I'd be terrified of even touching something called the 'Death Note'. That's bad news. I do like the dynamic between Light and L. What an incredibly strange show. I see why so many people like it. There's mystery, romance, comedy, action, and so much more. Most of the characters are very likable, and each one has a unique story. The writers always keep you guessing. And they ended it with an insane multi-part finale.
