Juggling genius, madness, and good times: Apocalypse Soon brings another brilliant chunk of entertainment to the masses. At the helm is veteran comedian Eddie Pepitone. This week's episode features the mental struggle between Eddie himself and the two disembodied voices inside his head. Referring to the voices in his head as Al & Margaret, Eddie gives a heroic performance, weaving in and out of several different sketches while giving a voice to the lovely couple taking residence in his brain. Series creators Dave Willis and Matt Maiellaro join the show to get you excited for Season 12 and what you can expect. Find out more about this story through a war torn Ukraine during the Russian Civil War that has some mystical elements to it, as well. Plus, the art is pretty great too! There were also some interesting comments made by Disney's Bob Iger this past week, so we'll react to that. You can also hear our thoughts on Taika Waititi's recent comments about why he made the Thor movies. There's also some trailer talk as we react to both Furiosa: A Mad Max Story and the latest look at Suicide Squad: ISEKAI. Oh yeah, and we'll talk about the new Netflix series, Obliterated. Pre-show Patreon Only: Void Train and other train games, Fallout 4 This episode contains: A chill post-Thanskgiving episode with Steven and Ben. Turns out people get tired after eating smoked turkey and phǒ (phǒ real? phǒget about it), at least people over 40. Good times with family. These kids are talking and love Bluey. If you're of a certain age, you may not know Bluey, but you should. Are there new Bluey episodes? Not yet, but there is a new Bluey video game. Ben apologizes for talking about old Steam Deck issues, but he's really not sorry, is he? Anyways, the most recent update (3.5) fixed the issues his son had, so this is just an old man shouting at the cloud. BTW, 30 years ago was not 1970, Steven. You poor thing. Steven was not prepared for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off on Netflix, which looks like the comic book, has all the actors for the movie, and then runs with a “What If?” story, completely changing the Scott Pilgrim story at a fundamental level. Our patron Renee met Mark Hamill while she and her family were all dressed like Leia. Mark Hamill is so lucky. Ben asks Steven to go on a date to see The Abyss Special Edition for his birthday, but it's in Santa Maria, and Steven will never spend another birthday in “that hellhole” if he can help it. Brain Matters: Our brains are not able to 'rewire' themselves, despite what most scientists believe, new study argues. According to the article, two scientists argue that the commonly held belief that the brain can rewire itself and repurpose regions for new functions after injury or deficit is flawed. Through analyzing previous studies, they found no compelling evidence that areas like the visual cortex of blind individuals or uninjured areas after stroke took on entirely new functions. Instead, they believe the brain enhances existing latent abilities through learning and repetition, not completely changing functions. So for example, when someone loses a finger, the area for that finger already got some input from neighboring fingers, it just enhances that after amputation. Their view is that understanding true brain plasticity limits is important for patient expectations and rehabilitation approaches. The brain's ability to adapt comes from hard work, not magical reassignment of resources. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2023/11/231121175335.htm Pure energy (like that song from Information Society, and Leonard Nimoy): Generating Power on Earth From the Coldness of Deep Space. This article discusses the concept of generating power on Earth by utilizing the coldness of deep space. It explores the principles of thermodynamics, thermoelectric power generation, and radiative cooling. The article also presents various prototypes and experiments conducted to harness energy from the coldness of space, including the use of selective emitters and negative illumination photovoltaic cells. While the technology is still under development, it shows potential for powering low-power electronics and lighting, offering a sustainable energy solution. https://spectrum.ieee.org/energy-from-cold Mid-show Patreon Only: Limp Bizkit is making a comeback? Maybe you don't want to hear it. Science Fiction: Steven finally saw The Marvels with his wife. He liked it, but his wife was lost. Why is that? Well, if you haven't seen Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, Wandavision, Secret Invasion (but not really), LOKI, Hawkeye, Ant-Man and the Wasp: QuANTumania, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers Endgame or X-Men: The Last Stand, maybe you're gonna be a little lost. Steven and Ben both agree: that's a little much for the normies, but it's also a little much for these tired old comic book nerds (like our valiant podcast hosts). With so much discussion about the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Ben says we've got to talk about something else, so what does he do? It's DC time. My Adventures with Superman is a cartoon on Adult Swim and Max that is worth watching, and Ben gives just enough spoilers to whet Steven's appetite. Maybe you would like it too. Steven always forgets that Superman is Ben's jam, at least when anybody other than Zach Snyder is at the helm. What is Ben's favorite Superman movie? Wouldn't you like to know. Post-show Patreon Only: The Flash movie, we have thoughts on how to fix the MCU

Unlike some other folks who won't stop talking, Cinema To The Letter IS supposed to be here today! Specifically, Thomas, Bryan and special guest Torrey Depina are here to discuss Clerks! Two men were floating on a couch, watching as a 2000-foot wave pummeled a building. "Have you heard the latest episode of Apocalypse Soon with Eddie Pepitone?" the young man asked the old man. "I lived in that apartment for 35 years... and no, we haven't had internet for a while," replied the old man. The young man smiled. "Me neither. Do you want to listen?" "Sure, kid. Sure." We get some help from Matt and Dave, Dickesode's editor Jay Edwards, and dick drawing connoisseur Bob Pettitt as we deep dive into this infamous episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force. For some reason the braintrust at Paramount decided it was worth "celebrating" the fiftieth anniversary of "Star Trek: The Animated Series". To do that, they appear to have scraped together the rejected jokes from every Adult Swim series and South Park and slapped a coat of TAS-style animation on top. Seriously, of the five they churned out, one was good. Which one? Listen to find out! Also this week: overdoing the gags, Gazelle did better, and yelling more about "Prodigy" because this was recorded before the news about it moving over to Netflix dropped. Yay, "Prodigy"!
Well the PS5 Slim is real, and its hideous, yes its hideous, but its modular. Marvel Studios has also announced a complete overhaul of how it will approach its Disney+ shows moving forward, including starting Daredevil Born Again from scratch. We also have a lot of news about Cyberpunk2077 and CDProjektRed, Ubisoft has hopes for Assassins Creed's future, Activision is prepping for its new ownership. Guillermo Del Toro opens up about Pacific Rim 2, Jerry Seinfeld teases a Seinfeld continuation, and Dan Harmon talks to Zack Snyder about a Rick and Morty Movie. That and more come take a listen.
Eric and creative partner/man behind "Kraft Punk" Dan Curry reminisce about the days of doing rooms around NYC and the crazy shit they have seen and heard. They talk about a comic who was obsessed with the word "queef" and how the audience didn't vibe off of it at all, what it means to be good on stage versus online, drinking cultures in the US vs. Europe, and the obsession with numbers when it comes to pleasing a woman. It's all lies and completely cringe when you think about it. Pre-Order our new book "Dumb Ideas" here Get Your Tickets to the Eric Andre Explosion Tour here! While Our Host Ned Hastings wasn't real in Super Trivia, he's real as hell in person. A foundational member of the Aqua Teen crew, Ned entered the Adult Swim world with Space Ghost Coast to Coast in 1999. After working on some of the show's best episodes, Ned contributed to a very early iteration of the Rabbot episode as an ATHF proof-of-concept. From there, he went on to shape the series with crucial input on Mayhem of the Mooninites, guiding the execution of the Mooninites themselves. It was on the show's seventh episode, Ol' Drippy, that Ned joined Aqua Teen full time, contributing immensely to the show ever since then. You may know that by the fact I mention him in like every episode. Ned tells us all about Aqua Teen's new process of storyboarding, his voice work throughout the series, the production process of Plantasm, and much more! Other topics discussed include which Beatle Ned is, the German belief that Salieri killed Mozart, and the shocking lack of babes at the Aqua Teen edit bay. • Ned on Twitter: https://www.instagram.com/therealnedh/ • Ned on Instagram: https://twitter.com/hastings_ned • Space Ghost Coast To Coast - My Dinner With Steven: https://archive.org/details/sgc2c-dinner-with-steven • Space Ghost on the Donny & Marie Show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q4QIpKYQIA • A History of Rock Music in 500 Songs: https://500songs.com/ ★ Support The Show + Get Extra Episodes • Patreon: patreon.com/dancingisforbidden ★ Amazon Affiliate Links - Support The Podcast At No Extra Cost! • Aqua Teen Forever Plantasm 4K: https://amzn.to/3Svy2ea • Aqua Teen Forever Plantasm BluRay: https://amzn.to/3dLcKKS • Aqua Teen Forever Plantasm Digital: https://amzn.to/3t8cqtv • Baffler Meal 20 Disc DVD Box Set: https://amzn.to/3fmznWf Timestamps: [00:00:00] Intro [00:03:09] Animatic vs Storyboard for Season 12 [00:09:12] Season 12 Production [00:17:41] Ned's Early Years [00:24:11] Ned's First Job [00:28:30] Working on Space Ghost Coast To Coast [00:00:00] SGC2C - Dinner with Steven [00:00:00] SGC2C - Donny and Marie [00:00:00] Working on early Rabbot [00:00:00] Early ATHF/Adult Swim [00:00:00] Working on Mayhem of the Mooninites [00:00:00] Working on ATHF vs SGC2C [00:00:00] Reaction to ATHF getting cancelled in 2015?
