In this episode of DreamMachine, Arun and Patricia discuss about the 2012 DreamWorks animated film, Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted, the third film of the Madagascar series. The movie takes place after Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa where the penguins leave Alex, Marty, Melman, and Gloria behind in Madagascar as they fly away with the fixed airplane to Monte Carlo. Eventually, they decide to leave Africa to go to Monte Carlo so they can find a way to go home to New York City. Along the way, they meet up with a group of animals from a failing circus that the penguins just purchased with a train that might lead them back to America. In order to accomplish that, Alex and the gang puts the animals into being great circus performers. But they must deal with a crazy police officer trying to capture Alex for her animal collection and keeping their secret as zoo animals to the circus animals. Will they return home to New York or will they accept their new life in the circus? When this movie premiered, it was a financial success making over $746 million dollars making the highest grossing of the Madagascar series and the fourth highest grossing DreamWorks animated film. In this episode of DreamMachine, Patricia and Arun discuss about the 2008 DreamWorks animated film Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa, the sequel to the 2005 film Madagascar. Taken place after the previous movie, Alex, Marty, Gloria, Melman, the lemurs, and the penguins placed a giant sling shot on an airplane to try to get back home to New York, but end up in Africa. When they land, they settle to their new home with Alex reuniting with his parents, Marty interacting with zebras similar to him, Gloria meets a male hippo, and Melman becomes a doctor. Overtime, they start to feel homesick and overwhelmed and wish to go home. It doesn't get any easier when the old lady from the first movie and a group of tourists start attacking the animals. When the movie premiered in theaters, it made over $650 million dollars in a $150 million dollar budget and received mixed to positive reviews. Stop me if you've heard this one: a group of colorful figures pool their unique talents to execute a perfect crime, probably involving an elaborately choreographed interchange of people in relation to the world's most advanced security system. This time around, it's Logan Lucky, which of course isn't even the first time that director Steven Soderbergh has visited this genre. That this same man, in this same idiom, gifted Ocean's Eleven onto the world is reason enough for us all to be excited about his newest film. We were so excited in fact, that we celebrated it with our Top 5 Heists episode!
