Las vacaciones representan, un descanso, principalmente, que pudiste sacar un tiempo para salir de la rutina,  Significa que te das la oportunidad de descansar, de explorar cosas nuevas, que visitas alguna persona o lugar que te place y te renueva.  En vacaciones se puede reflexionar, despejar la mente y activar los procesos creativos. Son todas esas razones por las que estamos dispuestos a gastar lo que no tenemos para ir de vacaciones.  Oye y tampoco es que ese tiempo de vacaciones hay que tomarlo en verano obligatoriamente pero igual, el tema es si te las planificaste. Pero cuando las vacaciones no están presupuestadas, te crean un problema,  y digo…hay personas que viven diciendo el famoso refrán: “Sólo se vive una vez”  y es que por un lado, ven o quieren ver con indiferencia el endeudamiento y por el otro quieren tener ese espacio para escapar.   Levanten la mano por favor, los que se sienten identificados hasta aquí. Yo levanto la mía, Sin juicios…  Mira tu realidad.   Ahora! Si me escuchas hace un tiempo, debes saber que es momento de organizar desde hoy, esos gastos de consumo para tener el privilegio y la oportunidad de disfrutar de vacaciones el próximo año; ya sea que quieres sacar ese tiempo en unas vacaciones de forma económica, digamos que puede ser, a quedarte local, hacer roadtrip a un pueblo con costa o a una vibrante ciudad cercana, quedarte allí un par de noches, comer rico y regresar.  O ya sea que, quieres visitar otro país, con todo lo que eso conlleva.   Quise grabar este episodio inspirada en una familia que visite esta semana en donde me dicen que van de vacaciones y también me dicen que no tiene deudas…, bien, pues cuando entramos más profundo en la conversación me dicen también que poseen 5 tarjetas de crédito a las que le pagan el mínimo cada mes. Pues, ¿se podrán imaginar cómo quedé? Más aún, porque es que no son los primeros que me topo con el tema de “No tengo deudas”. Tengo episodios aquí en donde tu puedes aprender como bajar esas deudas de consumo, tengo episodios en los que repito y repito la importancia del ahorro, de estar enfocado en esa meta de saldar para ahorrar y moverte hacia adelante. Anthony Parnther is a conductor, bassoonist, and music educator prominently known for his work conducting and playing for critically acclaimed film scores. In 2019 he was appointed music director and conductor of the San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra and concurrently serves as the music director of the Southeast Symphony in Los Angeles, California, a position he has held since 2010. His notable film and TV work includes the scoring sessions for critically acclaimed films and TV shows such as “Avatar: The Way of Water”, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “The Mandalorian”, Grammy Award-winning film “Encanto”, and Oscar winning film “Oppenheimer”. STORY 7: Gwinnett Sports Hall of Famer Buck Lanford Enjoys Long Career in Hometown Broadcast journalist Buck Lanford, now a morning anchor on Fox 5’s *Good Day Atlanta*, took a career-defining leap in the late 1990s, leaving a full-time job in Savannah for a three-month contract at Fox 5. That stint turned into a 27-year career, including covering the Falcons’ Super Bowl run and other major sports events. A South Gwinnett High alum, Lanford cherishes covering local athletes who became stars, like Jeff Francoeur and Brian McCann. Recently surprised live on air, Lanford learned he’ll be inducted into the Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame on May 19, calling it the honor of a lifetime. Johanna was raised as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Her story encompasses a childhood marked by secret abuse, a home environment with a dangerous and alcoholic father, and what could be considered a shocking and early marriage, ultimately leading to her being shunned by the Jehovah's Witnesses. • Secret Abuse: Johanna was molested by an older cousin for about a year and a half when she was around 8 or 9 years old. This was kept a family secret, and she was told not to tell anyone, not even her father. Her mother, upon finding out, questioned Johanna in a blaming way, asking “Why did you let him do that to you?”. This incident highlights a significant secret abuse that Johanna endured without adequate support or protection from her family. • A Dangerous Dad: Johanna's father is described as an alcoholic who became increasingly violent as she got older. There were instances where he would smash things, break into the house after being locked out, and Johanna would overhear him threatening to kill the entire family. The family would sometimes leave for short periods due to his violence, but were discouraged from permanently leaving by elders in the congregation. Ultimately, her father died by suicide using a homemade gun, and Johanna believed his plan involved killing the entire family as he had six bullets for six family members. This paints a picture of a dangerous father who created a volatile and fear-filled home environment. • A Shocking Marriage: Johanna got engaged at 15 or 16 and married at 17 to a 22-year-old fellow Jehovah's Witness. This occurred partly as an escape from her difficult home life, as her mother and stepfather did not want her there. The circumstances surrounding the engagement, where her mother suggested marriage as a solution to them being forbidden to talk, and the young age of Johanna, particularly within a non-Witness context, could be considered shocking. Johanna herself acknowledges her naivety about relationships due to her sheltered upbringing. • But Johanna is shunned by Jehovah's Witnesses. Today she shares her story for herself and for her son that was featured on a previous episode. On Sunday, March 31st, 1985, a group of young Black men drove back to southeastern San Diego after visiting Balboa Park. It was just after 6:00 PM and the sun was retreating into the horizon. As a truck driven by 23-year-old Sagon Penn pulled into a driveway on a quiet street in Encanto, they were followed by two police cars. What happened next would leave one officer dead, another officer and a civilian ride along severely injured, a young man in a years long legal limbo and a city reeling. On the 40th anniversary of the incident, I have author Peter Houlahan in the studio with me. From the magic “miracle” powers bestowed on each member of the Madrigal family to the colorful, rainbow-filled casita where they reside, this film is practically overflowing with queer energy. There's Camilo, a shapeshifter who frequently changes gender; Bruno, the misunderstood outcast who just wanted to be accepted by his family; Mirabelle, the main character whose coming out didn't quite go as planned; and of course Isabela, the “perfect” (closeted femme) sister who is hiding her true self out of fear of ending up rejected like Bruno.
