How do you face challenges in moments of vulnerability? In this episode I discuss vulnerable moments in my life and how I choose to persevere. Vulnerability is a normal human emotion and often times it's something that gets swept under the rug and shrug off as a sign of weakness. If this is something you do, you may be missing the point of the strength it takes to be vulnerable. Acknowledging the things that make us feel uneasy/vulnerable is an act of bravery and it is an opportunity to face challenges. It's a chance to connect with others who feel the same. Fear is a choice and we are in control of our emotions. On this episode I speak about how being a plus-size woman shouldn't hold anyone back from our goals. No matter our body size, we must dismiss judgements because body size does not determine worthiness, intelligence or commitment to a goal. Health looks different on everyone. And as I go through my journey as a Dietetics student I am here to take you along with me on the ride because together we can achieve greatness. Sharing our vulnerable moments helps us to connect with others and act with courage. So which is better - to be vulnerable or to be brave? Give this episode a listen & find out! In this episode I talk about overcoming our vulnerabilities, weight loss / weight gain, change and a bit about weight loss surgery. Get ready to feel empowered. Thank you all so much for listening to these episodes for the past 2 years - I am so excited to be on Season #3! Together we can spread compassion, love & kindness✨ --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Have you ever picked a word for the year? If you're not sure what that means this is a wonderful episode to explain this idea! As we go into the new year we should remain inspired. We should be proud of ourselves and all that we have accomplished in the last couple years. Many of us faced different types of hardships yet no matter what we face we persevere. This is the last episode of 2021 and it's meant to inspire and uplift your spirit this holiday season. Thank you all for the support and for listening to a Dish Best Served podcast for the last two years!! Remember a dish is always best served warm with gratitude
In this episode I have shared some intimate details on my personal journey with weight loss and weight gain. I also share a lot about my recent journey with my diagnosis of PCOS. More often than not, no matter what size body we reside in, we often judge ourselves and the imperfections we see. Sharing my journey is meant to inspire and uplift others. You do not have to stay feeling stuck in a season of judgments. Many times we don't even realize the negative things we say to ourselves and our body behind closed doors. However, with repetitive and consistent changes we can achieve a positive body image and a great relationship with food. Food is not the enemy but rather ENERGY! Many times women are stigmatized to fit into society standards of what our bodies should look like. We are often sexualized and its demoralizing. It's important to not fall victim to some trap of outdated societal expectations. Every body is a beautiful body! We all have our own personal story that has molded us into who we are. If you're like me, maybe you struggle with emotional eating or comfort food. You are not alone. When we dig deep to really shed light on the deep rooted issues at hand, we are then able to heal old wounds. This episode is a little longer than usual because I decided to share my story with all of you. I hope this message makes you feel empowered to love your body and to trust yourself. Sometimes we can be our own worst enemy but , regardless, we never have to stay stuck in a place we don't feel we belong. We should never limit our capabilities! Each and every day we should embrace and love our body for all that it has done for us in life no matter what age you are. You are beautiful, you are worthy and weight loss or weight gain does not define your value. Always sending love, light and gratitude to you all! Comfort Zones are deceiving because although comfortable - they hold you back from things that can fill your life with so much joy. What's something you wish you could just go for? Are you standing in your own way? In this episode I briefly discuss how to comfortable push yourself outside your bubble. Ultimately if we stay stuck we hold ourselves back from greatness. In addition to comfort zones I chat a little bit about the importance of exercise at every size. Moving our bodies for mental, physical and spiritual growth. Fluidity is so important. Staying inspired, listening to our bodies and going with the flow✨ I love being able to share a daily mantra with each episode and a self care tip at the end of every episode along with bouts of inspiration that pop into my mind from time to time. Thank you for listening and I hope you are able to take away a piece of positivity from any episode to brighten your day. This was recorded September 11th which was also a huge reminder that even through some of the toughest times we can still stand strong and come together and heal. Sending Blessings always!
How do we balance our own health? What does it mean to be healthy? In my opinion, health is balancing your mind, your body and soul. In this episode I give tips and tricks on how to balance each of those aspects of health. The world of diet culture doesn't have our best interest at heart when it comes to health and I explain why crash diets do more harm then good for our metabolism. But let me ask you this: How do you talk to yourself when no one is looking? How is your nutrition? Are you restricting or binging and falling down the same old vicious cycles? Do you implement a regular exercise routine? What are your favorite ways to keep your body moving? It's important to push past our limitations. It's important to be kind to ourselves as we make habit changes. Each of us have plenty to offer in our own way. We all bring something unique and authentic to every table we sit at. In today's episode I share what has worked for me over the years and what currently helps me on my own journey. I talk more in depth about how there is no one size fits all “quick-fix” plan. This is why I focus on our minds, our bodies and our souls. Our mind is controlled by our words and thoughts. Choose your words wisely. Our body is controlled by our activity and nutrition. Fuel your body in ways that make you feel good. Our soul is controlled by behaviors and belief. Show up and let your light shine through. In this episode I also share my own health struggles with my recent PCOS diagnosis and how I manage my lifestyle with my own bouts of emotional eating. I talk about how to set boundaries with our loved ones who become too comfortable discussing our weight. We as humans are creatures of habit and the changes we wish to make lies within. The power is in our hands. We have to love ourselves and be kind to ourselves in order to see a successful shift in habits. Today's episode is overdue & is a completely raw and unedited recording. Straight from the heart. Rid yourself of doubt and understand the difference between the Givers & the Takers. Remember that your light shines bright in its own way and when you utilize the power of prayer through meditation or through a way of your own, you will ignite your own light. Learning boundaries is important and doing what you love leads to ultimate success. Don't worry about following the straight and narrow, it's okay to forge your own path. Remember to see your own beauty and allow it to shine onto all that you do! When you are an artist or a fellow creative — it's easy to get into your own way. However, with the power of prayer and creating positive habits and boundaries you will manifest the life you deserve! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
If you follow along on Instagram, you know I love my Animal Spirit deck that was gifted to me last year. For today's reading you can pick one of the crystals I discuss and hear your own intuitive reading or soak in all the good energy and things we can learn from each message. In this episode I'll be reading straight from my guidebook in hopes that these messages can fuel us with hope, inspiration and growth. This is my first podcast reading & I have a feeling I'll do more again in the future. Many times tarot decks get misunderstood to be negative when it can actually shine a positive light in your life. This deck, by Kim Krans called Animal Spirit — The Wild Unknown, was my first ever tarot deck and I feel very spiritually connected to it. I also mention in this episode that if you are religious and listening to a Tarot reading doesn't feel right for you, I was raised Catholic and enjoy reading daily devotions on Kindle as well that I mentioned in the episode. The book is called UnShakeable by Christine Caine. Overall, no matter your spiritual background, there is comfort in knowing we are all guided and protected today and always. There are messages to listen to loud and clear if we pay close attention to them
Last night was the new moon in Taurus, a new moon represents a time to relax and recharge. It's a time in our life to refocus and allow the transformations of life to take place. Relinquish that control! On this episode, I also discuss what I call “food psychology” and how important it is to understand our eating habits and why we do the things the way we do. Food is meant to be enjoyed and not meant to be labeled as “good” or “bad”. Balance and self-love are the most significant keys in forming healthy habits. I'll be sharing what I do to better understand my own relationship with food and what I do to continue daily self-care. With any habit we wish to change it's important to stay consistent and have that daily practice so that we can ultimately transform and rebirth into what we want. We are the ever growing caterpillar that constantly morphs into many butterflies in our lifetime. There will be constant cycles, as the ebb and flow and it's important to embrace the ride. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Today I discuss how business and health/wellness goals work hand in hand. We have to put in the work if we want to seek change in our life and as it's said, nothing worth having in life comes easy. Just remember you are worthy of everything you desire and your mindset will ultimately lead you to succeed in all areas of your life. If 2020 taught us anything — it's that we are unstoppable, brave and capable. 2021 brings hope and new beginnings so it's important that we remind ourselves of the power in confidence and in our communities. March is International Women's month and I love seeing women supporting women. I'll always clap for others successes while I continue to build my own empire. Unfortunately this year there has been a lot of loss in my life so I've use this platform to share how I face some of my own personal struggles and how I learned to heal. Finding healthy ways to cope is so important. Stuffing your emotions or not allowing yourself to feel all the feels can be detrimental to your well-being. As I discussed today the stages of grieving we also talk about the various ways you can heal and grow. Today's mantra is “even after the darkest of nights the sun will rise” because tomorrow brings a new day. With hope and faith we can accomplish and get through anything in our lives. The stages of grieving and the emotions associated with loss or not often talked about so I felt it was important to share my story with all of you today and to share how those feelings are valid and necessary in order to start your own healing journey. Wishing you all a happy, blessed and healthy New Year
On this episode we are discussing astrology, gratitude and abundance and how to stay uplifting during difficult times. I've felt very drawn to share another podcast episodes recently. Understanding how we perceive or discuss various things in our lives affect how we face the world. When we change our words or think more carefully on our decisions we are able to create a healthy and steady environment. After I learned a little bit about NLP, I thought I would share some examples with all of you. It's important to make sure we are mindful with our words, our health and our intentions! I also shared some insight on my new favorite video game! We are worthy of all that we desire and it's up to us to create routines or practices that fulfill any voids. It's all about perspective
On this episode I recorded on 8.20.20, I discuss how important it is to focus on positive body image. We have to love ourselves first. If we don't take care of our bodies and mind, we won't have the energy to give. You simply can not pour from an empty cup. Faith works hand in hand with body image and belief in self. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

What is our stance? Thank you for listening in and being present with me today. Prayers, Love and Justice for all
