In this episode, I am joined by Paul Filippe. Paul is from Australia and has quite the healing story. Since a young child, Paul was physically and emotionally abused by his mother. He lacked confidence, he was depressed, he was on different medications and was also an alcoholic. He didn't know how to cope and deal with the traumas he lived through. He attempted suicide a couple of times, even as a really young kid. One day, with the purpose of escaping from his dark feelings and thoughts, he took psilocybin mushrooms, but to his surprise, instead of escaping, he actually found himself and was able to confront his challenges. Since then, he never had suicidal thoughts again and he was able to finally love himself. This led to a huge transformation in his life. He is now engaged to his fiancé and has two wonderful children. I really enjoyed listening to Paul's story and I hope you do too. Thank you for your support! www.evolvingmindspodcast@gmail.com
I have the privilege to speak with Mike Gregson, and in this episode he shares his story of depression, addiction, being involved in a bad car accident and ultimately him finding his true self through his story of transformation. Mike was depressed as a kid, didn't perform too well in school and then eventually he served a 2 year mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he really found himself and his happiness. Upon returning home though, he fell into some temptations and began to drink and do drugs, and eventually became an alcoholic. During this time, he lost his spiritual connection and began to drift. Eventually, he found himself drinking everyday and then partying at night and he was just in a dark place, barely holding it together. He and his wife (girlfriend at the time), got into an awful car accident and were hit head on by another vehicle that was going about 45MPH. Mike was believed to be dead at the scene, but thankfully survived. They both were taken to the hospital to be treated and Mike spent weeks in the hospital as well as doing different types of therapy to fully recover. It was soon after this experience that he decided to beat his addiction to alcohol for good. So, he attended meetings where he was able to get the support and guidance he needed to overcome his addiction. He is now happily married, has 3 kids and resides in Utah. He is a motivational speaker and also has a podcast called, "Come Towards Delight" https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/come-towards-delight/id1514528066 , so go check it out! This week's episode is with my buddy, Nathan Grisier. Nate and I go back about 20 years, growing up in church together, going on crazy camping trips as boy scouts and we having some fun memories with the group of friends we had back then. In this episode, Nathan opens up about his story of addiction as well as getting sober. He mentions stories such as smoking weed at the age of 8, heavily involved in selling drugs, being raided by the police, twice, and spending time in jail. Eventually, Nathan just had enough and had to surrender and ask for help. He went to rehab in St. George, Utah where he got the help he needed. He has been sober now for over 7 years and I couldn't be more proud of him. Going from shooting up heroin every day to being completely sober is a drastic change to say the least. A huge transformation. Also, I mention briefly a bit about my addiction too--which I will be releasing an episode solely on telling that story here soon, so stay tuned for that. If any of you suffer with the disease of addiction, please reach out to someone! As Nathan says in this episode, reaching out and asking for help is the first step. And lastly, I want to say that my door is always open for any of you who want to talk. Give the podcast a 5 star review on iTunes, guys! I would greatly appreciate it and it would help me out! As always, please reach out to me about anything-- Instagram is www.instagram.com/phil.hampton89 and my email is www.evolvingmindspodcast@gmail.com. RIP JoJo and Nikki

In this episode, I have the privilege of sitting down with my brother, Salvatore, and we have a great conversation about his life--his life growing up, born and raised in Lima, Peru, moving to Florida at age 9, experiencing his parent's divorce, his college experience where he first used psychedelics and found them to be beneficial and then soon afterwards, implemented them into his meditation, breathwork practices and overall life. He has a deep desire in aiding others to liberate themselves. Salvatore was heavily influenced by inspirational public figures such as Alan Watts, Ram Dass and Tony Robbins and was even involved in Tony's events, which caused a spark on his journey in his personal development and in seeking truth, love and light. He now resides in Los Angeles, CA and is a spiritual guide, facilitating in plant medicine ceremonies, guiding meditation and breathwork sessions among other things. We also talk about Mormonism, which is my personal background, and how religion can interfere with our direct line to spirituality. We also talk about fear, plant medicines, meditation, and more!
