There is a man. There. On the road. Just around the bend. Beaten. Bruised. Half dead. "I am too busy to help!" "Get someone else to help, i am not your man!" "Medic! Someone call 911! Oh well! No professionals here." "I am just going to pass by on the other side. Besides, I might become the robber's next victim too. And what good what that do either of us?!?!" And long came a hated member of THAT community. And he had compassion. Are you on the side of your road in life? Do you know that you are supposed to be involved to help others? Do you wish to pretend not to see the needs around you? This is our challenge today. Church Sunday Morning 10:30 am.

Do we really have faith in God? The people of the hometown of Jesus did not. In fact they were "offended" by Him. So they relegated Jesus to being just an ordinary man. The Church is here to proclaim the power of Jesus! He is good! Jesus is Lord! And the world needs to see and hear this good news. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.

A garden. Gardens represent growth, new life, and hope for the future. The garden of your heart is your soul, and God wants to cultivate goodness and righteousness in your life to give you hope, growth and a future. Will you let Him in?

He was huge. Arrogant. Obnoxious. Powerful. A warrior. In front of him was a wee boy. A child. A shepherd. One came armed with human weapons. the other came armed with faith and the power of God. No one would have thought the boy had a chance. Except God. God gave the power to David to overcome fear by faith. Many decades later 12 disciples were in a boat with a sleeping Jesus when a huge storm arose. The wind and waves scared even the most experienced sailor. And Jesus hushed the tempest with a word. and the fear of the disciples was replaced by faith as they stood in the power of God. That power is available for you today too. Are you living in fear? Paralyzed? Overwhelmed? Fear never stands up to the power of God. Your faith will grow today in the power of Jesus - even against fear. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.

The Prophet Elijah was sent away from Judea to Zarephath by God. And what happened there? He came to the aid of a foreigner... A foreign widow... and her orphan son! Unlikely targets for miracles. But then again the miracle was unlikely too - an endless supply of oil and flour during a terrible famine. Is God sending you? (The answer is yes). God has a call for us all, and the desire to send us to where He knows we are best needed, especially if it is out of our comfort zone. Do you know where your Zarephath is?

Holy Spirit, fall fresh upon me! Of the Godhead, perhaps the Holy Spirit is the least understood. Today we take a brief look at the Holy Spirit of God as we turn to the promise of Jesus, and how that promised Holy Spirit was fulfilled. Our comfort, our guide, our strength, our peace, our support, our con-victor, our reminder, our care giver, healer, helper and friend... Come, Holy Spirit! Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.

Jesus is coming again. Jesus will return. The Lord came once, and will come a second time just as He promised. Today we turn to the last chapter to the final words of the Bible. In Revelation 22 we have our Lord Jesus who told us He would return, then gave us 4 commands, then made a great promise. Will you follow Him today?
Heaven is real. Heaven is the eternal home of those who follow Jesus. Heaven will be glorious. Today we take a very small glimpse into what heaven is like. May you be blessed as you listen to this podcast about the living God!
Often we quickly judge if we see someone as a hero or a villain. Jesus was initially seen as a villain by the religious community, but people like Saul the Pharisee learned that Jesus was a hero. In fact the hero of heroes. In the meantime, Saul was certain he was a hero - even going as far as arresting and murdering Christians, until he met Jesus. Then Saul learned he was actually a villain. But then, through the saving grace of Jesus, the villain became a true Christian hero as he started churches and helped create many great church leaders. Are you a hero? Rely on Jesus, the true hero.
Mothers. We love them. We need them. We are called to honour them. Most of us had terrific mothers. How do we learn how to be godly mothers? look in God's Word. The Bible contains role models and wisdom for being a mother to your newborn and your adult children. thanks for our moms, and thank for those who follow God's word to be godly mothers
The Lord is My Shepherd. We know the Psalm, but do we know the shepherd? Do we follow the shepherd? Are we willing to be the sheep to the shepherd? The bible has a number of illustrations using sheep and shepherds, but do we follow them? If you took your last breath today, would you know for certain that your eternity is in the shepherd's hand? Do you want to be lead to still waters, to green pastures today, now, in your life? Give your heart to the shepherd, to the Lord, Jesus Christ, and live. Our prayer is that you would blessed by this service that honours our Lord Jesus. And it is Communion Sunday so have some bread and juice ready to join in.
Grief. We all grieve. We all have losses and strife that affect our lives. And yet even though we all have grief, very few of us talk about it. Worse, we do not allow others to grieve around us, expecting a snappy return to "normal" instead. But Jesus knew grief. And Jesus understand grief. Jesus can and will meet you in your grief and support you in your walk.
The Prodigal Son. The whole world knows the parable that Jesus told as recorded in Luke 15. But the correct title should be the "Prodigal Sons," as there were two sons, and each rebelled, and each had the same attitude. Or better yet call the parable the "Lost Sons," as both were lost in their emotions and their own desires. Or perhaps the parable should be called the "Gracious Father Parable," as the Father, who represents God, was loving, kind, gracious and ran to both his boys to bring them home past their own thoughts and actions. Are you a victim to your own "Far Country?" Do you insist on things being done YOUR way? The Father is waiting with healing and love to bring you home too. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
Imitations abound. Fake, Frauds and Phoneys are everywhere. And they all want your attention. they all want you to look away form from the truth. They look good. They look real. But they are deadly, and they lead to death. Here is the truth: Jesus is the Real Thing. Jesus, and nothing else. Don't rely on anyone or any other belief. Only Jesus leads to life.

There was a colt tied there. In the village of Bethphage. Waiting. And then along came two men who untied it. Strangers. And took it. Their only response as to why: "The Lord Needs it." And the owners let them take away their animal. Would you? Why would you? Why was the colt there in the first place? For what did "The Lord" "need it"? It is Palm Sunday and we look at the colt, it's owner and the reason that colt was so important. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
Jesus is anointed in preparation for His death.
Jesus walked into the village of Nain and found a funeral processional. He is the Lord over all th8ings, including life and death. So be broke up the funeral. By raising the dead. What joy! What a mighty God we serve! Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you watch this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
A Centurion has an ill slave. And this Greek Warrior turns to the Messiah for healing. His faith was so great that he knew Jesus could heal his servant remotely. I want a Centurion's type of faith. I want to grow in my faith to believe in the power of Jesus no matter what my circumstance. What about you? Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
Luke 6 ends with rapid-fire parables and lessons. Blind leading the blind. Specks and logs in eyes. Good fruit and good trees. Mouths and hearts. Houses on firm foundations. The thread is to know yourself in Jesus Christ, Let Him make you the best possible YOU. And get rid of the junk that is holding you back. You really don't need it. It's just rubbish. Trash. AND make certain you pick and follow the right leader in your life. Only Jesus the right foundation for your life. He will lead you to true life. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen tothis service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
I want to be forgiven. I seek forgiveness from God. I seek forgiveness form others. I will give forgiveness. I seek forgiveness from myself. I am forgiven. This is the "Road to Forgiveness" that our Holy God has made available to us through the atoning shed blood of Jesus Christ. I will chose today with live in the land of forgiveness, being forgiven myself and offering forgiveness to others in the name of Jesus. Will you? Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
With a crowd of eager ears longing to hear His every Word (Luke 6), Jesus told us about those who would be blessed in the Kingdom of God, and those who needed to be warned. Do you want to be part of the blessing of God as you join His Kingdom, or will the "Woes" that Jesus says be yours? Today you can walk in the blessings of the Kingdom of God. Just ask the Lord to come into your life and take over. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
In Luke 5 Jesus uses Peter's fishing boat as a platform to preach to the people. Then He sent the tired fishermen back out to lower their nets. They were unwilling at first but then said, "Because you say so, I will..." That is the response that lead Peter on the greatest adventure of his life - a wonderful, full life, and then eternal life. Will you also say "Yes!" to Jesus, and then you too can fish for others. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario
Early in His ministry Jesus went to the synagogue in Capernaum to preach. The people were amazed at His words. Then a man possessed by a demon entered the synagogue. He immediately identified Jesus as the Lord, the Messiah of God, "The Holy One of God.". Then, the demon possessed man came under the authority of Jesus as he was healed. It was seen as a "new teaching." Today, will you too come under the authority of Jesus? Will you be cleansed and allow yourself to come under His control? It will change your life. And you will love it. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
"I." It's a big word for only one letter. I. It goes with "me" and "myself." When my eyes are cast upon the one in the mirror, I loose sight of God and His love for this world. But when my eyes are cast on Jesus, and His overwhelming, ridiculous love, amazing things happen in my life and in the lives I am allowed to touch. I must learn to live in love. I must learn to grow in love. I must therefore learn the essence of love. Because the greatest is love. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
Jesus came back home in Luke 4. But His homecoming was not pretty. At first they loved Him. Then they tried to murder Him. Why? Because He was the Messiah. Because He came to fulfill prophesy. He came to bring Good News. Will you reject Him too? Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
Jesus went to a wedding. His mother gave Him the look: the message to bring out His power and fix a problem. The creator God turned water into wine, and He will turn your life into the greatest life ever. Our prayer is that you will be blessed as you listen to this service of worship to our Lord Jesus Christ from First Baptist Church in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
it's Communion Sunday and we prepare our souls by returning to the story of the Magi from Matthew 2. A servant in Herod's palace provides the narration for the monologue today. Why is this story important? Because Christ defeated all oppressors to give us life, including death itself.

The Second Sunday of Advent is the Sunday of peace. Peace is not a absence of strife, problems or woes. Pain is a part of everyday life. Peace is having the calm assurance in the midst of the storms of life. Peace is knowing your life is protected by the King of Kings, and therefore, no matter what happens in this world, you are held in His hand. Jesus is the Prince of Peace.
This is the first Sunday of Advent - the Sunday of Hope. Hope looks to the future - a future walking everyday with the Lord, and a future in Glory with Jesus the Saviour forever. Jesus came to repair the past, make today wonderful, and make tomorrow glorious. This is our hope.
