Dan's back from Virginia and the guys fess up about last week's no-show before diving into a lively World Series recap: Dodgers go back-to-back in a ratings-rich seven-gamer, unsung contributors step up, and Vlad Jr. shines for Toronto. Hot-stove whispers start flying. NBA/NHL are just out of the gate (Frank's calling a Knicks Finals run… Dan's got a cheesesteak bet ready). Then it's a brisk tour of NFL Week 10: Colts edge the Falcons in Germany, Jets clip the Browns, Texans outduel the Jags, Dolphins boat-race the Bills, Pats handle Tampa, Bears top the Giants (Daboll out), Ravens over Vikings, Saints over Panthers, Seahawks shred the Cards, Lions roll Washington, Rams thump the Niners, Chargers cruise past the Steelers, and the Eagles win a 10–7 grinder in Green Bay. Standings, lone-wolf records, and a little friendly gloating included.Email bag: Daniel Hooks checks in with the MLS playoffs (Union vs. NYCFC in a one-off at Subaru Park), league calendar changing to a July–May slate starting 2027–28, and USMNT November friendlies (Paraguay and Uruguay). Plus his zinger: Which Giants hire would actually scare a Cowboys fan?Special Thanks to:Fox Brothers Alarms - https://foxbrothersalarms.com First Baptist church of Phillipsburg NJ http://www.fbcpburg.org/

The church at Laodicea had become so ineffective and powerless that Jesus compared them to a tepid beverage. However, if they were willing to repent, Jesus was ready to restore them.Preached on November 9th, 2025 by Jared Kress. Series: "Revelation: Behold, He Is Coming" Primary Text: Revelation 3:14-22. What if the one activity we'll be doing for all eternity is something we should be practicing right now? This powerful sermon by Pastor Brent Snook, Senior Pastor of First Baptist of Glen Este opens our eyes to the centrality of worship in heaven and challenges us to make it central in our lives today. In Revelation 4 and 5, we're given a breathtaking glimpse through the apostle John's vision—a man in exile, isolated and discouraged, suddenly granted access to peer through heaven's portals. What he saw transforms everything: a throne, symbolizing God's sovereignty and control, surrounded by continuous worship. The message is clear: while our earthly circumstances may feel chaotic and out of control, God remains sovereign on His throne. When we learn to view our struggles against the backdrop of heaven's reality, everything changes. We're reminded that Jesus is worthy for three profound reasons—He created all things, He will conquer all evil, and He redeemed us through Calvary. This isn't just theological truth; it's an invitation to shift our focus from temporal troubles to eternal glory, to practice now what we'll be perfecting forever.

The church in Philadelphia was small but left a strong impression on Jesus, opening the way for His blessings on their congregation. We are reminded that regardless of our size or resources, faithfulness is what Jesus values most.Preached on November 2nd, 2025 by Jared Kress. The church at Sardis reminds us that it is possible to appear spiritually alive while internally dying. A dying church is unacceptable to Jesus, and we should do everything possible to strengthen what remains and pursue life within ourselves and our church.Preached on October 26th, 2025 by Jared Kress. Dodgers–Blue Jays is on and Dan's torn: despises the “neo-Yankees” Dodgers, still scarred by Joe Carter's '93 dagger vs. his beloved Phillies. We relive that wild Phils run (Dykstra, Dutch, Kruk & co.) and why that team still owns Philly hearts. Meanwhile, the NBA tips off under a cloud: FBI arrests tied to gambling schemes and a wild Stephen A. take that somehow drags Trump into it—Dan calls foul on evidence-free accusations and on-air grandstanding. Plus: Nick Saban says he's staying retired (and on GameDay), and why Bill Belichick needs time at UNC in the portal era. Then it's NFL Week 7:London: Rams cruise past the Jags—still waiting on College Trevor to show up on Sundays.Chiefs flatten the Raiders; K.C. looks fully “back.”Browns bully the Dolphins in bad weather; that defense is real.Patriots roll the Titans—Drake May looks the part, New England's arrow up.Panthers edge the Jets in a quintessential Meadowlands slog. Also: Panera SIP Club lore, Rich vs. the “ON” switch, and a Gary Carter vs. Ovi “Great 8” aside.Special Thanks to: Fox Brothers Alarms - https://foxbrothersalarms.com First Baptist church of Phillipsburg NJ http://www.fbcpburg.org/

Opening Frank's back on-mic (sinus infection be gone), Dan's in the captain's chair, Allen “Action” Jackson dials in, and Rich slides in hot from I-78. Yes, we also settle the eternal question: is the Panera SIP Club worth it?MLB Postseason: ALCS/NLCS Heat CheckToronto roars back to force a decisive Game 5 after Seattle's fast start — bats awake, series flips. In the NL, the Dodgers look every bit the juggernaut as Milwaukee searches for answers with L.A.'s aces lined up.“Big Dumper” watch: how sustainable is Cal Raleigh's breakout, and why catcher workload (plus DH/1B reps) matters in October.Yankees & Phillies: Quick AutopsiesYankees: live by the homer, die by the homer; what went wrong and what a realistic winter could look like.Phillies: where tweaks on the margins might move the needle when big contracts already crowd the room.Boone–Cashman & The Studio CrewWe react to Brian Cashman's denials after Derek Jeter's “decisions from above” TV comments (and A-Rod shade).Who's really pulling the strings in the Bronx, and what modern dugout analytics should (and shouldn't) dictate.Supercontracts & ROI (yes, including Soto/Harper/Stanton)Why mega-deals sometimes pay for themselves in two years (tickets, merch, TV), and where it still blows up — the Stanton dilemma versus Harper's windfall.NHL Drive-ByRangers' odd home vibes; Flyers feel middle-of-the-pack. We keep it moving.NFL Week 6: Reality ChecksLondon rock fight: Denver edges the Jets in a game only a punter could love.Pittsburgh flexes at home; Chargers win but still feel… wobbly.New England–New Orleans: upset vibes and the Drake May drumbeat gets louder.Macro takeaway: QB development and OL health are making (and breaking) seasons right now.PlusJohn Smoltz's booth wobble, Susan Waldman's… moment, and a very necessary reminder that Lou Gehrig ≠ just “the streak.”Special Thanks to: Fox Brothers Alarms - https://foxbrothersalarms.com First Baptist church of Phillipsburg NJ http://www.fbcpburg.org/
The church at Thyatira's significant problem happens to be a virtue of our culture today: tolerance to a fault. The church at Pergamum stayed faithful in naming Christ despite being in the center of Satanic activity, but their mistake was showing too much leniency to those who tried to straddle the fence. We must remain loyal to Christ and not permit leniency toward sin among our members.Preached on October 5th, 2025 by Jared Kress. Rio Hondo Prep (6-0) has never traveled out of state to play a football game. In Week 6 the Kares will be under the Friday Night Lights of Dallas, Texas to take on First Baptist Academy (4-1) in front of their Homecoming crowd. The Saints are defending back to back State Champions in Division 4 of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). Our special guest this week is FBA Head Coach Jason Lovvorn who couldn't be more excited to host the 16 time CIF Southern Section Champions from California. Both schools are two of the smallest enrollments out there that play Championship level 11 man football and have more in common than both fan bases may realize. It's the Golden State vs the Lone Star State this Friday night in an unprecedented matchup of small school football programs that accomplish big things on and off the field.

Jonah chapter 3 reveals the perfect picture of what repentance looks like as we witness the people of Nineveh respond to God's prophetic warning through Jonah. This sermon unpacks four essential characteristics of genuine repentance demonstrated in this remarkable biblical account.• Repentance looks like belief in the truth of God's word - the Ninevites heard and believed Jonah's five-word warning• Repentance involves godly sorrow over sin - even the king removed his royal robes, put on sackcloth, and sat in ashes• Repentance requires intentionally turning from sin - the people changed their behavior and walked in a new direction• Repentance includes hope in the mercy of God - they threw themselves on God's mercy without any guarantee• The empty tomb of Jesus stands as our ultimate assurance that there is no sin too great for God's forgiveness• When we come to God in true repentance, we find a Father who delights to forgiveIf you're in our area and don't have a church home, we would love to see you any Sunday morning at First Baptist, Eldorado.

Pastor Taylor Guerin examines the first three verses of Jonah, revealing how a previously faithful prophet fled in the opposite direction when called to preach to Israel's enemies. The story challenges us to confront our tendency to desire grace for ourselves while withholding it from those we deem unworthy.• Introduces Christopher, a man who found Christ while serving five life sentences, raising questions about who deserves God's grace• Contrasts Jonah's earlier faithfulness in 2 Kings 14 with his rebellion when called to warn Nineveh• Explains how Jonah fled 2,500 miles in the opposite direction from where God called him• Reveals Jonah's true fear: not that his mission would fail, but that it might succeed• Explores three key lessons: our dependence is necessary, our disobedience is costly, but our God is faithful• Challenges listeners with a crucial question: Do you want God to work in and through you, or in spite of you?If you're in the El Dorado area and don't have a church home, we would love to see you any Sunday morning at First Baptist.
