Strategic business and marketing consultations with everyday small business owners just like you! Heck Yes To Marketing is a podcast that’s quite different to those you may be used to. Instead of interviewing other experts, I (Trish the founder and CEO o
Today we’re talking about all things SCALING!! How do you go from regular $5k months, to $10k and beyond? Meet Leda from @woofandwonder, she’s one of my very first Chromatical Clients, she’s a Chromatical Club member, she’s bought The Experience of course too, she’s a huge inspiration and a massive action taker! She’ll tell you in the episode how when we first met her biggest dream was to make 10 sales per week. Now she’s having 5 figure months (legend) but the thing is, she relies so heavily on viral TikToks to make that happen, and she wants a more reliable strategy to hit those 10k months regularly, without relying on going viral. We cover a LOT in this episode. It’s a biggy because it’s juicy and I know it’ll help SO many of you listening!! We get stuck into email and the reasons why people avoid it, and how you can make it work for you!! Overcoming the fear of selling Financey stuff like profit and price increases and putting money aside for restocks and expenses Branding and how people buy your brand not just your product or service Competition and comparisonitis Adding ads and ads management as part of your sales system Getting more time back by building your team and having enough expenses to cover that MINDSET stuff (of course!) Oh my gosh we cover SO MUCH!!! And wait till you hear what goals we set at the end. In the episode you’ll hear me talk about a new financial spreadsheet we created to help you map out your finances. It sounds boring I know, but it’s SO valuable and you’ll hear why in this episode. It’s one of the 9 new reallllly helpful products that I just released in my online shop! I’ll quickly give you a run down of them because they’re the things I’ve heard you all asking for in past episodes and in Chromatical Club so here they are!! And you can shop for them RIGHT NOW by heading to chromatical.com.au/shop
This is the final episode of launch month at Heck Yes to marketing The Podcast!! And I think it’s going to be a cracking final episode too. Today for our launch finale, we’ll be chatting with Megan who’s doing web content, socials and comms to social enterprise and makers of zero-waste undies, Underwear for Humanity an amazing, amazing business that I can’t wait for you to hear about. We’re chatting about how they can formulate their own content recipe for a lead up to their next launch!! We talk about Creating your own rules for your own launches (because no two businesses are the same) How to convert your content pillars to suit your launch Why going in thick with launch content is important - Got to get that marketing rule of 7 working for you! Why changing from your every day posting schedule into launch mode is important How you build up the momentum of your posts and emails on the lead up to a launch The types of things you could share during a launch that still connects with your audience The importance of being flexible with your content during launches Why having fun during launch can result in more sales And more of course!! We cover all sorts of content in this episode, Instagram, ads, TikTok, and of course email, and if you’re curious about the strategy around my own launch emails, I’ve just launched a BUNCH of new products, one of them is an 80 page google doc with every single email from my launch of The Experience last year that resulted in $83,000 of sales! By reading these emails, you can learn from what I did, take bits of copy that might apply to you, get launch inspiration, see exactly how many emails I sent, how I got my messaging across and pinch some of the ways I did things to include in your own EDMs during launch time!! Head to Chromatical.com.au/shop to check it out!!In this episode I also do refer to Chromatical Club (which Megan is a member of and has been since it first launched I believe) I reference a few videos in there like the TikTok masterclass, and a training on the invisible side of launching. If you’d like to be able to watch these videos and 100+ other trainings and masterclasses, click here to read all about Chromatical Club!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Today we’re talking with Jordan from @ScrunchSocial, who also happens to be community manager in Chromatical Club, running monthly content planning workshops and helping everyone with their social questions, she’s a fellow podcaster, all round amazing human and I’m stoked to chat to her today about how we can sell her digital products year round after the launch has ended. We get into talking about some strategic ways to build momentum around what she offers after the initial hype of the launch has ended AND so that you don’t have to do big launches all year round in order to make sales. We cover… Running promotions with bonuses rather than discounts Making sure you don’t just occasionally mention your products but you go talk about them frequently All different kinds of ways you can create energy and interest around something you offer without actually even talking about what you offer - This point is an interesting one! How you can repurpose anything you create to use as bonuses as an incentive to buy what you offer ‘now’ because people often need a reason to do something rather than keep pushing it off for the never-later! We talk about affiliate marketing too!! We cover a lot of ground You’ll also hear me talk a lot about the fact that what I’m talking to Jordan about, are things I need to be doing myself, so I’m going to practice what I preach and do my own mini promo in this episode!! So if you’re listening to this episode and you join Chromatical Club before the end of June 2022, I’m going to give you 2 x free 1/2 hour consulting calls with me worth $995+gst. After you join, just email gday@chromatical.com.au and let us know that you heard this offer from episode 11 of Heck Yes to Marketing, and we’ll send you the link to book your first call in with meee! If you missed last weeks episode, be sure to suss it out after this, and subscribe to make sure you don’t miss the rest of launch month as there’s some CRACKING episodes to come. Today we discuss what to do if your launches haven’t been going as well as you hoped. Becca from Club Gemini talk about her launch report that I asked her to create in Chromatical Club. She sent it to me before our episode, I went through it and found some things we could change to start to transform her future launches. That’s what we get stuck into today. We discuss things like How to reframe your mind around the success or ‘failure’ of a launch The importance of understanding your data from each launch so you can review what went wrong and improve each time Why it’s important not to chuck everything in if it doesn’t go as hoped The time spent creating social media posts vs emails and the potential results it could bring The amount of time you should spend leading up to a launch The invisible side of launching (what you do outside of a launch period) A lot of this will relate to so many people in all different types of businesses. I’m excited for you to get listening. You can find Becca over at @itsclubgemini on Instagram and https://www.clubgemini.co.uk/ Be sure to say hello! It’s LAUNCH MONTH at Heck Yes to marketing The Podcast!!!Every week this month, I’ll be dropping a launch related consultation with all different types of businesses. For the VERY first launch podcast episode, I get to work with Jacqui from White Deer! She’s a graphic designer who wants to know how we can get more people into her evergreen course! Now this is a bit of a back to front episode because we’re actually talking about how to drive sales WITHOUT launching. We’re talking about Jacqui’s evergreen course DIY Design My Biz that she has ALREADY launched a couple of times, but has now turned it evergreen. Evergreen basically means it’s something that people can join anytime, get the value, and because you have already done all of the work, it’s pretty hands off. I wanted to start off with talking about evergreen for podcast month, because if you are in the course or program biz, (or hope to be in the future) you can turn the launches you have already done into evergreen ones that work all year round! I thought by starting off with this before you get all juiced up about new launches, I wanted to talk about using what you might have already launched previously and turning it into something that can work for you all year round. The thing with evergreen is though, (and what we talk about today) is that without big launches that gets heaps of people in all at once, you still need to find ways to get people excited to do your programs year round. We have to work through a lot of ‘no’s to find the right ‘yes’ for Jacqui and that to me is one of the FUNNEST part of consulting, and also the most important. I can’t just say ‘do this…’ it has to be congruent with who your working with or the suggestions just won’t work for them. You have to dig and find the right part that needs the work because it’s not always obvious! We touch on subjects like The importance of measuring the performance of your evergreen funnel is working and optimizing based on data Facebook ads Pdf lead magnets vs video lead magnets How understanding your client is SO important for your sales copy, but also how you format your evergreen funnel, how long your deadline is on for and more because if they aren’t aligned fewer people will join We talk about sharing the value of what you have in a way that’s much higher than the price The importance of creating opportunities for ‘why now’ because if people can join anytime, there’s no incentive How you might already have things that you could bundle and give as bonuses to encourage people to join Finding the things that drive you to do the things you don’t want to do, and using those to Be sure to follow Jacqui on Insta at @whitedeerGD and check out her website here!! Feel free to tag us both in your stories if you share that you’re listening, we’d love hear your takeaways. Speaking of evergreen, if you’d like to check out MY evergreen masterclass which helps you go from winging to growing your business, click here! I talk about it in this episode, and it really is suppppper impactful to those who watch it. And of course, if you’d like to apply to be on Heck Yes to Marketing The Podcast, and have a real life 1:1 consultation with me, just like Jacqui did today, you can do so by clicking here!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Today we’re chatting with Elaine, a mindset coach who you can find at @Iamelainebenson on instagram. We’re talking about her messaging and positioning in her business, and she wants to know how she can clarify and make it really concise so that her clients are like “HECK YES I want to work with Elaine!!” Regardless of whether you’re a product or service based business, these kinds of conversations will be so impactful because if you’re not communicating your messaging in the way your customers or clients need to hear it, it might not result in the amount of sales or bookings you’d hoped. Today we chat about things like What awareness stage are your clients at when they discover you? Are they already looking for what you have or are you educating them about your service? Is your messaging speaking to what they want? Or what they think they want? We get talking about the value of mindset work and how without doing it, it can stop you from getting where you want to go We talk about how to address the bigger problem that you want to solve We talk about niching and targeting just one type of person So much!! I need to let you know that next week is the start of May which means it’s officially LAUNCH MONTH in my podcast world!! Every week in May I’ll be sharing consultations with all kinds of business owners around the theme of launching. Make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss an episode. The theme is also spreading into Chromatical Club, my paid program, where I’ll be sharing a live masterclass on the 10 things I did, to have an $83k launch in September last year. So if you’d like watch that head to my website chromatical.com.au/chromatical-club and check it out.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Pivoting is a word that we’ve become super familiar with over the course of the past few years. And it’s no longer in relation to Ross from Friends. Pivoting our businesses to suit the ‘new normal’ world we lived in was the theme we heard over and over from 2020 onwards. What often came with that was a lot of hurt, sadness, loss and feelings of failure. I’ve worked with so many clients during this time to help them pivot with optimism and excitement and positive mindsets and for many, it’s made a world of difference. One of those people was Megen!! Long time of Chromatical Club, and having worked through The Experience she’s done so much mindset work with me, that I knew when her time came to pivot her business she’d be ready. And oooooof she is so ready. Wait till you hear her energy on this call. It’s inspiring to say the least. In this episode we talk with Megen from AV Blooms, who’s completely ‘pivoting’ her business from a bricks and mortar florist to an (almost) all online business model! It was a discussion that could’ve gone in so many directions if she hadn’t done as much mindset work as she had with me previously and I’m SO proud of her for doing so. This consultation was such an optimistic and positive discussion that I hope will inspire others who have to pivot in the future for whatever reason! I hope you too can start to see it as what could be an incredible opportunity rather than something that is a failure. I found this episode super inspiring, and I hope you do too. If you’re someone who has had to change direction in business, regardless of what level or type of pivot, I hope you’ll love this episode. We tackle important things like: Mindset and the importance of the role it plays in big changes like this Leaning into your values and finding directions that align with you We spitball online and in person business ideas that can be done without requiring a bricks and mortar store and land on some really cool and powerful ideas You can find Megen over at @AVBloooms on Instagram and avbloomsflorist.comBe sure to say hello! Ok, hands up if you’re a creative business who always has in the back of their mind that they want to create something new, go down a new direction, and gets that itch that they need to scratch to create create create!! Well, that’s what we’re going to be digging deep into today with Michelle from Show and Tell. We tackle important things like: Understanding WHY we are wanting to do what we want to do…. And why really. Who are we wanting to create these new offers for? Ourselves to fulfill something we’re lacking that we could be getting from what we currently offer? Or is there a real hole that needs to be filled and a clear demand for it? If you were to create something new, would the same problems arise that are happening with what you currently offer? It’s okay to sell it before you create it. A lot of people talk about this, and it’s because imagine spending all that time building something and no one wants it. Validating it first can be so amazing and we chat about the validation process. How to find ways to make the boring parts of business fun to you. Understanding how you work in your business is SO powerful because you can use that as a way to really get involved in the parts of business that you might not have usually thought were typically ‘fun’. Ask the right people the right questions about what they want. We figure out who those right people are and why you need to be paying attention to them because the thing you want to create may not even be what people want! As business owners, we get so many questions from our customers or clients, and we often want to make everyone happy! But what happens when someone asks if you’ll break up what you have to offer, and sell them just a little part of it. Like if you offer a kit, but someone just wants to buy the pattern Or if you offer a costume hire business, but someone just wants the dress Or in Marie’s case, what if someone asks for just one module of her new course Frankly Resin? How do you approach that? What options do you have? Is it a yes? Is it a no? Or maybe is there even an entirely new opportunity lying in there waiting to become another offer. We dive into ALL of this (and more, because we are talkers) in today’s episode of Heck Yes! Even if you don’t have a program or course this will be so valuable because we also talk about The value of listening to the questions and feedback from your customers or clients, and talk about when to actually apply the feedback (and when to NOT) Making sure we aren’t just people pleasing, because we can in business often lose so much time and direction by doing so and it can slow us down from making the impact or reaching the goals we want to. We go down a few tangents! We chat about getting dopamine hits externally and how that can drive us but also about trying to find them from within We talk about doing what you want and listening to yourself and saying ‘EFF IT’ to build your confidence in doing the things that might feel uncomfortable. It’s a great episode, I always love working with Marie and I’m so chuffed to be able to help her again in this episode.
