We are back from our summer break — Philippa is solo, as Katie and Quentin are watching the eclipse — and it has been quite a week to return to.The village fete on Sunday was a genuine highlight: Chelsea without scissors, Lillian as an unlikely fairy godmother, Fabrice to the rescue, Carol's chaotic scavenger hunt and the great entry fee debacle. Philippa loved it. Then Monday arrived.Monty has been taken into police custody following the attack on David and Ruth's sheep, and Philippa found it genuinely traumatic to listen to. Harrison handling the arrest with calm professionalism while Robert and Lynda fell apart. Lynda trying to gather character references. Robert and the gate he didn't fix in time. The bed and breakfast guests who left a day early and whose children apparently hosed down a bloodied dog without telling anyone. The question of whether admitting liability was the right call without legal advice. And the looming question of whether David and Ruth will ever agree to let Monty live. Also this week: Elizabeth being dismissive of Freddie, Alistair's advice to Harrison, Lillian's solution to everything being brandy, a possible Lily and Amber friendship, and Philippa's theory about why Monty has been behaving so strangely.Plus Star of the Week, Twit of the Week and three predictions including a sheep-shearing barber shop.Back to normal next Tuesday.Topics covered: Monty | Lynda Snell | Robert Snell | Harrison Burns | David Archer | Ruth Archer | Elizabeth Pargetter | Lillian Bellamy | Chelsea | Alan Franks | Carol | Amber | Keira | The Archers August 2026 Hosted on Acast. Jeffrey Mosher welcomes Kellie Swiger, Head of Creative at LAFCU, Lansing, MI LAFCU Letter Painting at Phil Denny's Smooth Jazz Fete Q1: LAFCU has been a longtime supporter of Phil Denny's Armory Smooth Jazz Fete. Why is it important for LAFCU to be part of this event? A: At LAFCU, we believe strong communities are built by creating opportunities for people to connect. Whether it's through music, art or shared experiences, bringing people together strengthens relationships and creates a greater sense of belonging. That's why we're proud to support Phil Denny's Armory Smooth Jazz Fete. The festival is all about bringing people together, and this year we're adding a new interactive experience that lets attendees become part of the event in a fun and creative way. Q2: I understand LAFCU is bringing its giant letters to the event again. What's new about that this year? A: Yes, we have six-foot-tall letters that spell LAFCU – L -A - F- C – and U that are painted with different artwork from local artists. Our giant letters have become a familiar part of community events across mid-Michigan, and this year we're inviting the public to help paint one of them. People will be able to walk up and add color to the letter "F" through a paint-by-number activity. Local artists will be painting the other letters during the event. By inviting people to help paint a letter they're contributing to something that represents the connection between LAFCU and the communities we serve. It's a simple activity, but it reflects what this event is all about — bringing people together through creativity, music and community. People love to take pictures with the LAFCU letters, too! Q3: When and where can people participate, and what else can they expect from LAFCU? A: The event is happening Saturday, Aug. 8, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Lansing Armory, 330 Marshall Street. The painting activity will be available throughout the festival, and people can also stop by the LAFCU table for giveaways and a chance to try our popular Money Machine, where participants step inside and try to catch cash swirling through the air. It's a lot of fun! The festival itself features internationally acclaimed smooth and contemporary jazz musicians, along with soul, funk and R&B, food vendors, local artists, merchandise, and beer and wine. The event is for adults 21 and older. Tickets can be purchased at SmoothJazzFete.com/tickets Q4: Is there anything else you'd like listeners to know? A: We hope everyone attending the festival stops by the LAFCU booth to add a little color to the letter and make it their own. Every brushstroke becomes part of a piece that will continue to represent the connection between LAFCU and our community at future events. It promises to be a great time with music, art and community, and we hope to see everyone Saturday, Aug. 8, from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Lansing Armory. ### » Visit MBN website: www.michiganbusinessnetwork.com/ » Subscribe to MBN's YouTube: www.youtube.com/@MichiganbusinessnetworkMBN » Like MBN: www.facebook.com/mibiznetwork » Follow MBN: X.com/MIBizNetwork/ » MBN Instagram: www.instagram.com/mibiznetwork/

ENTMOOT 122 - SPRING FETE by Entmoot
In this episode my guest Dr. Eric Fete and I discuss why muscle is one of our most powerful longevity organs, the mistakes people make chasing supplements before habits, and how to think about evidence-based supplementation as a support—not a shortcut. DR. ERIC FETE, DO, is the founder of PrimeX, a company focused on preventive health, age management, and peak performance. His expertise includes nutrition, supplements, hormone therapy, and personalized health plans aimed at improving overall wellness. He is a strong advocate for natural health practices over synthetic drugs and surgery. While working in the ER after graduation, Dr. Fete became disillusioned with the focus on treating problems rather than preventing them. He saw the effects of poor lifestyle choices on health and decided to shift his focus to prevention. He later founded Dr. Eric Age Management, an e-commerce company dedicated to slowing aging, enhancing vitality, and improving overall health through diet, supplements, hormone therapy, and fitness. Dr. Fete holds a BA in microbiology from Miami University and a medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is certified in Age Management Medicine, Advanced Bio Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy, and Medical Peptide Therapy and is a member of the Seeds Scientific Research and Performance Institute. Learning Points: 1. Why muscle is one of our most powerful longevity organs 2. Longevity being built on foundations, not shortcuts 3. Intelligent supplementation amplifying biology, not overriding it Social Media: https://www.drericprimex.com/ https://www.linkedin.com/in/eric-fete-90030346/ https://www.facebook.com/drericprimex https://x.com/dreric_primex
What does it mean to stay balanced and grounded in a shifting world? This episode of OffScript was recorded live at STEADY, the second event in Dash Arts' We Are Free To Change The World series. Through live performance and conversation, the evening focused on staying; on staying open without burning out, staying yourself in dialogue without collapsing into agreement or disagreement and staying human amid pressure, speed and polarisation.Hosted by Dash Arts' Artistic Director Josephine Burton, with Natasha Walter, Liz Slade, Tasneim Zyada, and Mohammed Ali, the contributors shared perspectives rooted in activism, faith, art and lived experience. Together, they reflect on what it means to remain grounded while responding to a world in flux — and how steadiness itself can be a radical, collective practice.Find out more about their work here:Natasha Walter - www.natashawalter.co.ukLiz Slade - www.elizabethslade.ukTasneim Zyada - www.instagram.com/tasneimzyadaMohammed Ali - www.artofmohammedali.comThe live event was co-presented by Dash Arts, Arts Admin and Fete of Britain.Get your tickets for the live events for We Are Free To Change The World by going to the Dash Arts website : https://www.dasharts.org.uk/we-are-free Our intro music is Fakiiritanssi by Marouf Majidi Hosted on Acast. You are not just buying a costume; you are investing in an experience, a legacy, and a vibrant cultural immersion. When you choose Party Room Squad at Miami Carnival, you are stepping onto the road not merely as a participant, but as a vital thread in a 31-year tradition that beautifully weaves together the past, present, and future of Caribbean culture. This isn't just about the spectacle of the parade; it's about connecting with the very heart of Caribbean Carnival: A Legacy of Freedom, Art, and Celebration. Imagine the journey: * From Resistance to Revelry: Recall the profound history—how this celebration, originating from European Carnevale, was powerfully transformed by enslaved Africans after emancipation. Forbidden from their enslavers' masquerade balls, they defiantly forged their own vibrant expressions of liberation. This act of creation, blending African traditions, indigenous practices, and Creole culture, gave birth to the joyous resistance we celebrate today. When you join us, you're not just dancing; you're echoing the drums of freedom and the spirit of resilience that defined generations. * Unleashing Your Inner Sparkle: Our section is your personal invitation to embrace your most radiant self. Every meticulously designed costume is a canvas for your inner brilliance, allowing you to unleash your unique sparkle as you move through the streets. This isn't just about the glitter and feathers; it's about the confidence and joy that radiates from within when you are authentically part of something grand. * Connecting with Infectious Energy: The road with Party Room Squad is an electric current of infectious energy. Feel the pulsating bass of Soca music vibrate through your body, the collective rhythm of thousands of feet dancing in unison, and the roar of joyous cheers. This unadulterated energy is a communal force, a shared euphoria that transcends individual moments and creates an unforgettable collective memory. * Immersing in Unadulterated Caribbean Revelry: This is the essence of Carnival—a pure, unrestrained outpouring of joy. Forget your inhibitions and worries; surrender to the spirit of fête. With Party Room Squad, you are fully immersed in an authentic Caribbean experience, surrounded by a community that lives and breathes the culture. It's an opportunity to dance until your feet ache, sing until your voice is hoarse, and revel in the profound sense of belonging that only Carnival can offer.
