Episode 273: It is understanding your progress and the shifts you need to make toward achieving your year-end goals: Mid-year is the perfect time to reassess, refocus, and reignite your sales strategies. Whether you're ahead of your quotas or trying to make up for lost ground, the next six months offer countless opportunities to optimize your performance. I will share nine key strategies that will help you refocus, boost growth, meet your targets, and elevate your sales performance. We must begin by honestly assessing our performance in the first half of the year. There is no judgment, just an evaluation of what we have accomplished, areas of progress, and the following steps to commit to. 1. Refine Your Product Pitch Your product pitch is a powerful tool that can significantly impact your success. Now is the time to evaluate and refine it. Test your pitch with colleagues or mentors, gather feedback, and make adjustments to make it more engaging and tailored to your client's needs. Tools like sales pitch refinement apps and AI platforms can provide valuable insights into the tone, clarity, and effectiveness of your pitch. 2. Double Down on Client Relationships Strong client relationships are the cornerstone of long-term sales success. Mid-year is an ideal time to check in with your existing customers. Celebrate the wins they've had since partnering with you, or inquire about any changes in their needs or goals. Use this insight to strengthen your collaboration. 3. Leverage Advanced CRM Tools Are you fully utilizing your customer relationship management (CRM) platform? Tools like Salesforce and HubSpot go beyond managing leads; they provide data-backed insights into client behavior, predict purchasing patterns, and help automate follow-ups. Mid-year is an ideal time to clean up your CRM data and maximize the tool's potential to enhance lead engagement and increase meeting and sales conversions. 4. Focus on Qualified Leads Not all leads are created equal. Revisit your lead generation strategy and prioritize prospects most likely to convert. It will ensure that you target prospects who align with your ideal customer profile, keeping your pipeline lean yet high-quality. 5. Elevate Your Follow-Up Process Studies show that 80% of sales require 5+ follow-ups, yet many of us stop after just one or two. Develop a follow-up process that is both persistent and respectful, utilizing personalized emails, value-driven updates, and call-back schedules to ensure effective communication. Make your follow-up customized, not automated. 6. Track & Celebrate Milestones Take time to track progress towards your goals and celebrate milestones, no matter how small. It will not only boost team morale but also provide an opportunity to reflect on what's working and make adjustments to elements that need improvement. Use performance tracking tools to measure how close you are to achieving (or exceeding) your quotas. 7. Stay On Top of Industry Trends The sales landscape is constantly evolving, with new tools, tactics, and challenges consistently emerging. To stay ahead, dedicate time each week to reading industry blogs, attending webinars, or networking with other professionals. Whether it's harnessing AI to improve productivity or exploring new markets, staying informed will help you stay competitive. 8. Engage in Sales Coaching or Mentorship Even the most experienced sales professionals benefit from structured coaching or guidance from a mentor. A coach can help you identify blind spots, optimize your strategies, and inspire creativity in your approach. If you don't currently have a mentor or access to coaching, consider joining online communities or forums for sales professionals to exchange tips and advice. 9. Make Data-Driven Decisions Data increasingly drives sales. Utilize tools such as Google Analytics, LinkedIn Insights, or your in-house analytics platforms to identify trends, assess performance, and forecast customer behavior. Refine strategies using historical data and adopt an iterative approach to improving your success rate. Remember, thriving in sales requires a balance of persistence, personal development, and adaptability. These mid-year strategies can help you reassess your current status and set yourself up for a strong second half of the year. Start by identifying one or two areas where you can make immediate improvements, and take action today. There's no better time to refine your game, inspire client trust, and achieve your goals. How do you plan to supercharge your sales performance this year? Your thoughts and favorite strategies are valuable to us, so please share them below! Nobody asks for trials. But if you've been walking with Jesus for any amount of time, you know they come—unexpected, uninvited, and often unrelenting. And yet God tells us to “count it all joy”? Not because the pain feels good—but because something greater is being produced within us.Our springboard for today's discussion is:“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” — James 1:2–3 (ESV)Trials are God's classroom. Not His punishment. And certainly not His absence. In the fire, your faith is refined—not destroyed. You learn how to stand, how to endure, how to trust when everything around you shakes. But the trial doesn't just reveal what's around you—it reveals what's in you. And more importantly, it reveals the One who is in it with you.You may not understand what's happening. The pieces don't always make sense. But God is not silent in the storm. He is speaking, even now.“My child, I know this hurts. I haven't overlooked it or delayed out of neglect. I'm allowing what will strengthen you, not destroy you. Trust Me. I am forming something in you that comfort never could. Hold on. I'm right here.”God is not asking you to pretend the trial isn't painful. He's asking you to anchor yourself in the truth that He is still good, still faithful, and still present.Faith is not proved in the light—it's proven in the dark. And every step you take in trust is shaping you into someone who reflects Jesus more than ever before.Question of the Day:Where in your life right now do you need to stop asking “why” and start trusting “Who”?Mini Call to Action:Write down one area of trial you're facing. Next to it, write one promise of God. Post it where you'll see it every day this week.Let's Pray:Lord, I don't always understand the pain—but I trust Your purpose. Strengthen my heart. Refine my faith. And teach me to walk through the fire with my eyes fixed on You. In Jesus' name, amen.Let's Get To Work!Pain isn't the end of your story. Real Ways I Used ChatGPT to Save Time & Stay Sharp-On my morning walk this week, I looked up the hill and stopped in my tracks — there was a bear. No warning, just a moment that forced me to change direction. And that's exactly what business can feel like today. Things shift quickly, and we need to be ready to pivot. That moment reminded me just how valuable a tool like ChatGPT can be — not for flashy gimmicks, but for real, day-to-day support. In this episode, I share exactly how I used ChatGPT over the past week to stay sharp, save time, and better support clients. You'll hear how I used ChatGPT to:• Research prospects and uncover insights that led to more personalized outreach• Compare LMS platforms to guide a client's decision• Refine an article for an industry publication to sound more helpful, not salesy• Align branding visuals and promotions for a consistent message• Explore topics like stem cell therapy to stay informed and sharp3 Actionable Steps to Try This Week: Use it for research: Ask ChatGPT to break down a company, audience, or trend in plain English. Test it on something small: Try rewriting one email or LinkedIn post — you'll be surprised how much time it saves. Build it into your prep routine: Whether you're heading into a meeting or presentation, let ChatGPT help you get clear and confident. At World Innovators, we believe in sharing what actually works — not what sounds trendy. In this conversation, Omari Richins, MPH discusses the common misconceptions surrounding the first job in public health, emphasizing that it is merely a starting point rather than a final destination. He encourages listeners to view their early career experiences as opportunities for learning and growth, rather than as definitive measures of success. He highlights the importance of aligning one's career with personal values and interests, and reassures that there is no singular path to success in public health.

Whether you're rebuilding your confidence or looking to sharpen your lateral work, this is where the shift begins. In this episode, you'll learn: Why pushing = resistance - and what to do instead How to create “open doors” with your seat and reins to show your horse where to go The importance of timing your aids with how your horse is actually moving How feedback builds a conversation (and trust) between you and your horse

On this episode of The Karen Kenney Show, I discuss a fun and helpful idea that I've been sharing with my 1:1 clients and Nest community. It's a concept I call, "Fine, Define, Refine" – which basically suggests that from the start we're totally “fine”, perfect, and awesome! But then the crazy world gets a hold of us, life stuff happens, and people start slapping labels on you that maybe leave you feeling not-so-fine. But here's the thing - those pesky and sometimes hurtful labels aren't the real you!One of the ways we get our mojo and magic back is when we start to "re-fine" ourselves. This isn't about fixing what we perceive as broken. This is about remembering who we truly are. It's about looking at ourselves with love, ditching those external definitions, and reconnecting with our innate, Divine essence. We're not broken - we just temporarily feel disconnected from our true selves. My little love reminder from my heart to yours? You came in perfect. The world might have tried to define you, but you have the power to redefine and remember your inherent value. You're not just good enough - you're brilliant, beautiful, and absolutely worthy of love. So, how about we stop beating ourselves up, and start celebrating who we really are! KEY TAKEAWAYS:• You are inherently "fine", worthy, and lovable• External influences will try to define you• You can refine yourself through compassion and self-love• Always remember your eternal, Divine, spiritual essence• Those pesky labels are not your true identity• The Nest - Group Mentoring Program BIO:Karen Kenney is a certified Spiritual Mentor, Writer, Integrative Change Worker, Coach and Hypnotist. Send us a textEver wondered why some manifestations seem stuck on the edge of appearing while others feel like you're forcing them into existence? The answer lies in the delicate dance between masculine and feminine energies – the fundamental creative forces behind all manifestation. Most spiritual teachings touch on these energies, but few explain how to practically apply them in daily life. Masculine energy isn't just about being a provider or protector, just as feminine energy isn't merely about being pretty or nurturing. These energies represent core principles: masculine brings structure, action, and discipline while feminine offers creativity, intuition, and receptivity. Like breathing in and out, we need both in harmony. The magic happens at what I call "the balance point." When we recognize which energy to lead with in different situations, our manifestations flow naturally. Business requires masculine structure, but without feminine intuition, you'll burn out. Relationships need feminine connection, but without masculine boundaries, they lack foundation. The signs of imbalance are clear – burnout and perfectionism signal too much masculine energy, while perpetual waiting and almost-manifestations indicate an overreliance on feminine energy.Ready for transformation? Try my four-step manifestation framework: begin with masculine clarity (setting a vision), add feminine embodiment (connecting to the feeling), create masculine structure (developing an action plan), and practice feminine surrender (allowing divine timing). This balanced approach isn't about becoming someone else but about making small tweaks that yield powerful results.Whether you're building a business, calling in a soulmate relationship, or simply seeking more joy, balancing these energies is your path to success. Remember – structure isn't punishment but support that creates the freedom your soul craves. Take a moment now to reflect: which energy do you naturally lead with, and where might you benefit from more balance? The Portal Membership – Making progress but wondering why things aren't next level clicking? Send us a textSpecial thanks to Larry Greenlee for his lesson recently titled: "Breaking the Cycle." His three ideas can absolutely change your life, and quickly: Remove, Replace, Refine. It is a pleasure to explore these with you today, particularly the first one. Plants can't grow until the weeds are removed. New things cannot exist where there is no place for them. Everything good, along with things that break down old cycles, starts with removing necessary obstacles. Today we explore six areas where you can make those cuts:1) Technology and Entertainment2) Mental Clutter3) Toxic Relationships4) Excess Commitments5) Financial Waste6) Unhealthy HabitsCan you pick one thing from each of these categories to cut out of your life, at least for a time? To add to this exercise, what would you like to add? What would you like more of in your daily routine? Exchange one thing for another. Here's a topic that starts with an interesting question: What puts more trout in the net? Is it knowing your water or knowing your tactics?Of course, the easy answer is . . . both. Refine your skills and learn your rivers. Then put all of that together, and you have a great formula, not only for catching trout but for having a lot of fun.The truth is, as frequent anglers we're always involved in improving. It goes way beyond filling the fly box with new patterns. We know our deficiencies, and we're working to fix them. We also know you can only really tackle one thing at a time. So if you're out there fishing, or maybe even on the way to your next fishing trip, what are you working on? Really, what will put more fish in the net? Is it better to focus on the tactics and techniques, or is it better to learn the river itself? Basically, that means reading water better and finding fish.So we're looking forward to this discussion. It's a good concept, and we all have some opinions. My friends, Matt Grobe, Bill Dell and Austin Dando join me for a great discussion.ResourcesPODCAST: Troutbitten | How Woodsmanship Catches Fish - S11, Ep6VIDEO: Troutbitten | Reading Water in Levels, Lanes and SeamsREAD: Troutbitten | Read Trout WaterREAD: Troutbitten | Fish Familiar Waters VisitTroutbitten WebsiteTroutbitten InstagramTroutbitten YouTubeTroutbitten Facebook Thank You to Pre-Roll Ad Sponsors:SkwalaandOrvis

But as we will discuss today, God will not burn His people. He will repurpose the fire and the flames to refine us, to become more resilient, and to be redeemed out of His for His glory! You want to be on podcasts! What a great way to be introduced to someone else's audience, share your story, and have people learn about your business and what problems you solve. However, there are some ways to blow that opportunity as a podcast guest. Jessica Rhodes founded Interview Connections back when no other agencies like it existed. She loves helping entrepreneurs who feel like the best-kept secret grow their business online through genuine, human-to-human connections. The podcast interviews Jessica and her team have booked have helped their clients generate millions of dollars in sales, sell thousands of books, and transform countless lives. Jessica has three important pillars for becoming a podcast guest. The first pillar is the relationship with the podcast host. Many people leverage podcast guesting as a ticket to someone else's audience, but they don't focus on the host. Podcast interviewing is about networking, collaboration, and having a connection with another human being who's in your line of work and has your target market. Recognize the value of the interview, even if nobody listens to or downloads the show. The opportunity to answer questions, share a story, and reflect on how powerful what you're saying is valuable. Jessica recommends connecting with the host on social media and learning about their business. "I don't think entrepreneurs really understand or know the amount of resources, time, and money that goes into having a podcast," says Jessica. "Whether there's 50 people listening or there's a thousand people listening." The second pillar of podcast guesting is repurposing the content: What stories are you talking about? What are you sharing? What anecdotes are you sharing? What are you saying about your story? Prepping the host by explaining what you will share will help you have a compelling interview. Jessica says it's important to have good-quality equipment, from learning how to use your microphone correctly to having good lighting. Some audience members might listen to audio only, while others might watch clips. When you give a good interview, there will be many clips that can be edited and leveraged on social media. The third pillar is to give a clear call to action. It should be free—it's not a webinar or a pitch. If you gave a good interview and people liked hearing from you for the first time, where can they get more? It might mean a discovery call or offers to join the guest's online community—whatever gets a conversation going. "There is so much less legwork on the back end once they opt-in versus an ad lead who's very cold and just kind of you caught their attention,” says Jessica. Podcasting can be a great way to generate warm leads. Jessica says this is all about being intentional with show selection. It expands and opens you up to audiences that aren't in your immediate circle of influence. Podcasting is a long-term strategy. Refine your message over time, and it's a skill to give a great podcast interview, whether you're a host or a guest. Stay visible and stay consistent. It also takes time for people to hear you. The podcast industry is continuing to grow—the medium is not going anywhere. There are more than 3 million podcasts, and they are becoming more targeted and niche. This can mean a better return on investment because they're small podcasts with more concentrated listeners. “You're going to see really targeted small audiences that drive big results because you're in front of the right people,” says Jessica. At its core, podcasting is a networking strategy. “If one out of every 10 podcasters that interviews you, you guys end up doing something amazing together, that's incredible. So see the value in every interaction, every opportunity.” Check out Jessica's free Podcast Interview Prep Checklist: Connect with Jessica Rhodes: https://interviewconnections.com/ Other GoG episodes you might want to check out: How to get the PERFECT guest to say yes to your podcast: https://youtu.be/Ta8bSk4bOG4 How to Make Money Podcasting (Without Burning Out!): https://sarahwalton.com/make-money-podcasting/ You can check out our podcast interviews on YouTube, too! http://bit.ly/YouTubeSWalton Thank you so much for listening. In this episode, I tests Polymet AI, an AI product designer tool, by creating a YouTube analytics prediction SaaS concept inspired by a viral tweet about predicting tweet performance. I compares Polymet AI with V0, noting that while Polymet required multiple prompts and offered less feedback during the design process, both tools ultimately produced usable designs. I concludes that different AI tools have different strengths, and using multiple tools in combination might yield the best results.Timestamps: 00:00 - Intro02:33 - First Impressions of Polymet03:57 - Startup Idea: Predicting YouTube Engagement05:03 - Initial Design Prompt10:11 - Polymet's First Design Output: TubePredict11:04 - UI and Functionality Issues and Debugging16:08 - Polymet's Second Design Output17:44 - Debugging pt 220:48 - Prompting v0 22:30 - v0's Design Output 23:41 - Polymet's Third Design Output24:49 - Comparing v0 and Polymer and Final Thoughts on Design Outputs27:36 - Conclusion and Recommendations for AI Design ToolsKey Points• I tests Polymet AI a new AI product designer tool that claims to help non-designers create production-ready designs• I compares Polymet AI with v0, a similar tool he's used before, by designing a YouTube analytics prediction tool• Both tools produced functional designs, but with different user experiences and output quality1) First impressions of Polymet AI:• Clean interface similar to ChatGPT• Includes voice input (huge plus!)• Image upload capability for reference designs• Credit-based system (250 free credits to start)• 50 credits per page generation2) The design process with Polymet was... interesting.PROS:• Named the product "TubePredict" automatically• Created decent landing page copy• Saved version historyCONS:• Slow generation (2+ minutes)• No progress indicator (frustrating!)• Initial designs missed the mark completely 3) After 3 attempts with increasingly specific prompts, Polymet finally delivered:• Clean, modern interface• Detailed A/B testing dashboard• Statistical confidence indicators• AI suggestions for optimizationBut the communication was ONE-WAY. No feedback loop!4) Meanwhile, v0 showed its strengths:• Real-time reasoning as it designed• Conversational approach ("I'll create a SaaS that...")• Faster FEELING process (transparency helps!)• Ability to ask clarifying questionsThe difference in experience was NIGHT and DAY.5) The final designs were surprisingly similar in quality!Polymet's strengths:• More detailed product features• Hover states built in• Actual code generationv0's advantages:• Slightly more polished visually• More "glassy" as requested• Better feedback loop6) MAJOR INSIGHT: The future isn't about finding ONE perfect AI design tool. It's about using MULTIPLE tools strategically:• Generate initial concepts in one• Refine in another• Mix and match their strengthsJust like we do with ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.7) The REAL lesson? Knowing design terminology matters! When I specifically requested "glassmorphism" instead of just saying "glassy," both tools performed MUCH better. The more precise your design vocabulary, the better your AI design results.8) Would I recommend these tools?
