click here to download video.Artist Michael Markowsky makes oil paintings while strapped to the roof of his BMW while a friend drives it at 75mph (120kmh) on the highway through the California desert. He is most well known for his "Driving Drawings", an ongoing series of artworks done while driving on the Los Angeles freeways. An 80-page-full-color catalogue will be released in early October 2006. Michael was born and raised in Calgary, Canada, and attended the Alberta College of Art and Design, the Cooper Union School of Art in New York City, the Royal College of Art in London, England and the Art Center in Pasadena, where he received a Master of Fine Art degree.
