Ask the Dr. – First Show of the Year with Dr. Michael Lange & Dr. Susan Summerton Today’s Ask the Dr. marked the first show of the new year, hosted by Dr. Michael Lange and Dr. Susan Summerton, and it delivered powerful, science-based strategies to help you live longer, healthier, and sharper. The show opened with a special BOGO offer on Fortifeye Vegan Super Protein, followed by Dr. Lange’s discussion on the importance of high-quality plant-based protein for muscle maintenance, metabolic health, longevity, and overall wellness. A major segment focused on sleep and visual health. Dr. Lange and Dr. Summerton reviewed emerging studies showing that both too little and too much sleep can negatively impact the visual system and overall health. Current research suggests an ideal sleep range of 6–9 hours per night, while regularly exceeding 9 hours may increase health risks. The doctors discussed many lessons learned over the past several years that can help reduce disease risk and premature mortality. They emphasized the foundational importance of diet, exercise, sleep, and proper, evidence-based supplementation for enhancing quality of life, reducing mortality, and slowing cognitive decline. Dr. Lange reviewed the science behind Fortifeye Focus & Brain and discussed key ingredients that support brain circulation, cognition, and neuroprotection. He shared personal insight into how this formulation has helped support his mother’s cognitive abilities. A major portion of the show focused on the power of omega-3 fatty acids and the importance of using the correct form. Dr. Lange and Dr. Summerton explained why triglyceride (TG) and re-esterified triglyceride (rTG) forms are critical for absorption and effectiveness. They discussed studies showing that Fortifeye Omega-3 fish oils, including Fortifeye Super Omega, raise the Omega-3 Index to an average range of approximately 9.2–11 percent, a level strongly associated with improved heart health, vascular protection, and reduced mortality. The doctors also discussed the importance of curcumin, emphasizing that only the proper bioavailable form delivers real benefits. Dr. Lange highlighted CurcuGEN curcumin and its potential role in helping with retinal drusen, inflammation, and many other systemic health conditions. Dr. Lange shared that omega-3 fatty acids and curcumin are two of his favorite foundational nutrients for long-term health, eye health, and brain protection. Both doctors reviewed natural strategies to help reduce clot formation in the body and the eyes, reinforcing the importance of a proactive and integrative approach. The show concluded with an important discussion on comprehensive eye exams, including dilation and Optomap imaging. Dr. Lange explained how eye exams can detect eye disease and early signs of systemic health problems, including three specific ocular findings that may be associated with an increased risk of dementia. These exams can be vision-saving and life-saving. The program featured great listener calls from across the country and was an informative and engaging way to start the new year. We sat down with Aubrey and Liv for something we don't do nearly enough: a real post-show reflection.Months after Six the Musical closed, we got back together to honestly break it all down: what worked, what didn't, what surprised them, and what they'd absolutely do differently next time. Aubrey, who produced and directed the show, and Liv, one of the performers, brought two very different but equally important perspectives to the table.Less hype, more truth. Less “what we hope happens,” more “what actually happened.”

This week marks a massive milestone for Heavy Metal Tones — 250 episodes of deep dives, riffs, interviews, and unapologetic metal passion. To celebrate, I'm doing something a little special: I'm uploading the very first, very rough, completely unfiltered pilot episode. It's raw, messy, honest… and a reminder of just how far the show has come. But that's not all. Make sure you stay locked in until the very end — there's a second surprise track waiting for you. A little bonus to mark the occasion and to thank you for sticking with the show.Crank it up and celebrate 250 episodes of metal mayhem. Summary of the RockSolid Families Podcast EpisodeThe episode opens with a heartfelt introduction sponsored by Casey's Outdoor Solutions and Gift Shop, a local business that beautifies homes inside and out. Linda Hutchinson and her husband, Merrill then take center stage, noting how long it has been since their last recording—two months, following a significant health crisis Merrill experienced.Health UpdateMerrill shares a deeply personal update about his battle with glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer. He recounts feeling unwell during the week leading to July 23rd, the day he was diagnosed. Before this diagnosis, he had enjoyed a summer filled with fitness and vitality, making the abrupt change all the more shocking. He describes his symptoms, including lapses in judgment and physical coordination, which led him to seek medical help.Despite the grim diagnosis that follows—being informed of the aggressive nature of his cancer—Merrill highlights the importance of processing this news with Linda's support. They discuss the urgency that has developed in their lives, emphasizing the need to cherish relationships and the time they have together.Faith and CommunityThey reflect on how their faith has provided them with peace amid turmoil. They share insights from scripture, with Linda quoting from 1 Peter, which speaks of a “living hope” that transcends earthly challenges. The couple's faith journey has brought them closer, and they express gratitude for the overwhelming support from family, friends, and community members during this time. They acknowledge the powerful impact their health situation has had on their relationships, giving them a renewed perspective on the importance of expressing love and appreciation to those around them. Special mentions are made of the support they received from medical staff and the community, reinforcing the notion that one should never take relationships for granted.Rock Solid Families' FutureAs they discuss the future of RockSolid Families, they announce Merrill's retirement from his active role due to his health. He expresses hope for the organization's continued mission—helping families build strong foundations rooted in faith. They introduce new staff members who will carry on their work, emphasizing the transition is not an end but a new beginning for the ministry. With a focus on legacy, they encourage listeners to act and not delay in nurturing their relationships, underscoring the message that life is fleeting. The couple draws inspiration from Charlie Kirk's recent passing, emphasizing the call to live meaningfully and to impart wisdom to future generations.Closing ThoughtsIn closing, the couple reflects on their experiences and the joy and peace they have felt, even amidst grief. They encourage listeners to trust in God, pointing out that even when facing life's uncertainties, true peace comes from faith. Merrill shares his favorite verses, emphasizing the importance of submitting to God's plan and the significance of community support. The episode wraps with a heartfelt thank you to their sponsors and supporters, reiterating the importance of building a strong community, one family at a time. They invite listeners to stay connected and to reach out for support, ending with the reminder to cherish every moment and live fully in the present.rocksolidfamilies.orgSupport the show#Rocksolidfamilies, #familytherapy, #marriagecounseling, #parenting, #faithbasedcounseling, #counseling, #Strongdads, #coaching, #lifecoach, #lifecoaching, #marriagecoaching, #marriageandfamily, #control, #security, #respect, #affection, #love, #purpose, #faith, #affairs, #infidelity
