Hot Corner Athletics Podcast S1E9 with one of my former coaches and a great friend of mine, Frank Jagoda. Jags has coached at almost every level of baseball from Community College to Division one and now into Professional Baseball. Jags was the Rehab Coordinator for the Minnesota Twins, U18 Director for Team USA and is now in Player Development with the Tampa Bay Rays. Jags was on the coaching staff at Canisius College in 2013 when we won the MAAC Championship for the 1st time in Program History and has been a great mentor throughout the years with coaching. In this podcast, we discuss our memories together and how we were able to change the program that we were in, but also how we were able to develop relationships along the way and how those relationships have helped guide us through our profession. We have had some amazing times together and we believe that this podcast provides all the value to people who want to learn more about the game and what the real meaning is behind playing sports.

In this Podcast, Charlie and I discuss his upbringing and love for the game of baseball, as well as the National Level Travel Baseball that he played in and how he was able to get himself prepared for Professional Baseball. Charlie was fortunate enough to play in the East Coast Pro, High School Rivalry Game and Area Code Games in High School, which has set him up for the path that he is on now. Charlie was named the 2018 New York State Gatorade Player of the Year and won the Rawlings Gold Award in 2018.

Rohn Pierce is a local Western New York athlete that went to Canisius College. He was drafted in the 2014 MLB Draft in the 19th Round by the Seattle Mariners and pitched for a couple seasons in their organization. Rohn talks with us about gripping different pitches and how he has developed himself into the pitcher that he was, while teaching Willy Jackman, High School pitcher, on how to grip his pitches and what to do. Matt is a trainer at Hot Corner in the offseason and does a great job developing and working with all of our athletes to improve their skills as hitters and catchers. We also touch on the intensity of pro baseball and what keeps Matt engaged and enjoying the process and his ride.
