Hey Bears! Did you know that UNC has over 100 clubs, organizations, and activities for you to join while in college? Joining a college club can impact your student experience and your future career by boosting your resume with leadership experience, a way to show your values (like giving back to the community), and projects or events to demonstrate your skills like time management, collaboration, and organization. You need concrete examples to show future employers what you are all about. I know that you are all busy, between classes, work, homework, family, and other commitments. There is so much to balance, but prioritizing a bit of time each week for a student organization might be worth it. I have 6 reasons why you should join a student organization while working towards your degree.

Hey Bears! The semester is in full swing—how are you feeling? As your first essays, projects, assignments, and exams are due, this is the week to talk about Office Hours! Office Hours are designated time that each of your faculty set aside for you to talk about class. Often the Office Hour is a drop-in situation or you can make an appointment. We find that Office Hours are underused by students—but if you USE office hours you will have a better understanding of the material, expectations, and your professor! Taking even 10 minutes, especially this semester, to Zoom or call or stop in to your professor’s office can have a big impact by the end of the class. This week I challenge you to visit each of your professors for office hours!
