“Flipping that switch” gets harder over time, so today we look at how you can more consistently be in your "intrinsic zone" so things feel right. We talk about ways to keep wasted time from snowballing along with finding passion and motivation outside of speed or a race time. We get better and faster by truly finding joy in the process. And by simple things like improvement and alleviating weaknesses. Today, we get into how that all ties together to find contentment and reward in this sport for a long time.  Looking for a Customized Swim analysis in our C26 Hub? Nothing messes up my mojo more than when I do this… When we want something to work so badly we can taste it, and yet nothing feels likes it's working in our favor, week after week after week, our energy spirals into Stucktown, USA.  I spent a solid 18 months in this town, and the longer I stayed the further away my dreams felt.  Then I would scroll or meet someone who had a similar business to me, who was “crushing it,” and I would be so jealous and judgey of them…also not a pretty energy to live in. Certainly not one that attracts abundance.  You may be in Stucktown right now, and want to desperately get out but don't even know where to start. Here's what I did to move from a stuck mindset into a successful one: 1. Start using all of that energy and mental bandwidth you're exerting on stressing over “NOTHING IS WORKING,” to identifying the holes in your business model, and getting help with filling those holes. 2. Have a come to Jesus talk with yourself, or a conversation with the Universe, or your Spirit Guides…Release all of the expectations you had for your business, your goals, and your income… These expectations are at the root of why you are in Stucktown, because you “expected” things to play out differently than reality. (Truth is you are exactly where you are supposed to be right now, as this extreme discomfort you're in is what's necessary for you to do the BIG scary things that are required of you to reach your goals.)                        3. Ask yourself, “What would make me feel the most supported right now as I'm growing my business? What would hold me accountable on an entirely different level, so I'm forced to show up regardless of my fears, doubts, and insecurities?” 4. TAKE ACTION. A big part of why you are paralyzed in being “unmotivated” and “overwhelmed,” is because you're allowing that energy to take over. The only way out of this quicksand is to use your energy to stretch your arm out amongst all of the weight trying to pull you back, and reach for help.  5. What is Scalar Light?SCALAR LIGHT works with scalar energy, which is a necessary life force found everywhere in the world, space and the universe. This energy originates from the sun and the stars.  Chi, Prana, OM, mana, life force, pyramid energy or zero point energy are synonymous terms for scalar energy.  Tom Paladino has been inspired by the discoveries of Nikolas Tesla (inventor of the alternative current) and by T. Galen Hieronymus who developed numerous studies about scalar energy. What can Scalar Light do for you?Experience deeper sleep, enhanced mood, and energy and regain a zest for life.  The scalar energy generated works at a quantum level and defragments the molecules of viruses and other pathogens. This technique uses facial photography of people or pets, which are placed in the SCALAR LIGHT equipment. The equipment places the scalar light signature on the photograph no matter where the person is and the person begins to receive the transmission of the scalar energy that directly affects the spirit, mind and body, thus acting by balancing the energy centers, dismantling the substances that steal health and vitality.Tom Paladino is a researcher and humanitarian seeking to make a difference in the world by providing people with the education and tools to restore optimal health, and by helping enhance their quality of life. Tom began research with Scalar Energy during his undergraduate years after developing a deep admiration for the father of Scalar Energy research, Nikola Tesla. For a FREE 15 day trial to see how Scalar Light makes you feel, go to www.scalarlight.com today and give it a try.As with all my podcasts, this information is for educational purposes only and is not medical advice.  See your own practitioner for what's right for you.Today's Sponsor - The Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Canada's Capital, Ottawa!Do you aspire to have a meaningful career where you help people? 5X Your Farm Sales is OPEN for Registration: https://courses.3cowmarketing.com/5x-farm-sales There is a process to marketing so you can build a profitable farm. Everyone can learn it. But very few (if any?) are teaching it. Until now. The 5X Your Farm Sales Coaching Program for farmers has mastered the process of teaching you Advanced Marketing Strategies to build a profitable farm. You'll know you don't have the process down if you're not getting good results in your marketing. The problem is, most people think marketing and making money on your farm is just a series of actions that work. But in my 10 years working with farmers, no amount of "right marketing action" will get you to success or profit sustainably. The marketing strategies you employ will only work if you start with a positive, useful mindset. This is the process I teach that makes your marketing successful and is not being taught anywhere else. Click HERE to read more about the process. Then, listen to Beth's story on the podcast today. Up until a year ago, Beth Carver treated herself like an "abusive boss" in her farm business. She constantly felt like she wasn't good enough. She thought she had to drive herself and talk to herself harshly in order to get the business successful. This never works.  She thought if she treated herself kindly, then she wouldn't be motivated to do the hard things her farm biz required. The problem was, she was struggling in the business AND not feeling good about herself. Beth was constantly feeling guilty - if she was working on the business, she felt guilty ignoring her 2-year-old son. If she was with her son, she felt guilty not working in her business. This was such a heavy, exhausting, burdensome way to live her days. This is so common among farmers! We think we need to drive ourselves hard to make the business successful. We think we don't deserve time off, or we haven't earned the right to pay ourselves yet. Many farmers tell me they are burdened by this constant feeling that they aren't doing anything quite good enough - the farm, the marketing, or being a mom & wife. This constant feeling of not being good enough makes building a profitable farm impossible. You read that right. You can't get to a profitable farm, your marketing won't work, if you don't figure out how to change your thoughts about yourself. I teach Advanced Marketing Strategies - but those strategies will not work if you're not in a place mentally where you have your own back.  Where you give yourself compassion and confidence with ease. That's just ONE of the huge advancements Beth has made in the past year that allowed her to increase her sales by 40% while feeling confident AND ALSO while realizing she actually liked herself for the first time in her life. Beth is not alone. It's rampant among women farmers, especially, that we are super hard on ourselves. My clients' logic is that they need to drive themselves to create success. But this does not work. It prevents you from success. Listen to Beth's full interview above. Then, join 5X Your Farm Sales and give yourself the gift of a profitable business once you learn how to be confident and treat yourself with compassion. EVERYTHING in your life and business is easier when you learn to like yourself. This is the ONLY room where you'll learn self-compassion, confidence, decisiveness AND the marketing strategies to build a profitable farm. See you in the room, Charlotte   PS: Click HERE to be in the room.

Blunt Dissection: The best minds in veterinary medicine, academia & business profiled so you can learn from their experience.

My first Blunt Dissection episode of the year kicks off with veterinarian, podcaster, international speaker, author, media personality, founder of the Uncharted Veterinary Conference, and of course good friend, Dr. Andy Roark. Dr. Andy graduated as a veterinarian from the University of Florida in 2008 and since then has been changing the pathway of veterinary medicine through his many outlets and talents. Over the past 10 years, Andy has poured himself into life as a veterinarian, as well as being an award-winning columnist for DVM360, a veterinary speaker for Dr. AndyRoark.com ‘a veterinary social hub', and most recently he founded Uncharted Veterinary Conference - a veterinary medicine's premier business and career development community - with the goal to help veterinarians thrive and avoid practice drama and burnout. Now, before we jump into the episode, I'd like to invite you to join something that can help you get ahead in your career as a vet. We all know that imposter syndrome, burnout, angry clients and burnout are real and cause many vets to leave their jobs and careers. But what you might not know is that there is a community where you can learn the essential street skills for how to be a great GP vet upon which you can build a sustainable, fulfilling career. A place where you can access mentors, view jobs from practices that care about culture and access new weekly articles and podcasts dedicated to your career. That place is called VetX and you can access all of the resources including a career planning tool, 14 hours of accredited education, hundreds of articles and live mentor Q&A sessions, plus earn swag and more. To join hundreds of other vets who have changed their careers for the better go to www.vetxinternational.com today. Registration is free so get on that as soon as the show is done! Now back to the show, I first interviewed Dr. Andy for the Blunt Dissection four years ago, but couldn't resist having him back on and quizzing his strategic brain. This episode was slightly different from the usual Blunt Dissection episodes, rather than diving into Andy's pathway into veterinary medicine and his life (as I normally do in Blunt Dissection), this episode offered an insight into the issues we face in veterinary medicine and Dr. Andy's viewpoint on them. We tackle a range of hugely important issues through a strategic framework where we asked four questions. What should we stop doing. What should we start doing? What should we do more of? And what should we do less of? There's a lot of insight that arose. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Let's get stuck in…

Faith Matters

For this week's episode, we brought on Carl Youngblood for a truly enlightening conversation we've been wanting to have for a long time. Carl has spent most of his life helping to build and operate technology companies and has done a lot of deep thinking and writing about how technology is shaping our reality and our future—including how it will affect what it means to be human. Digital technology companies, including behemoths like Facebook, are staking their futures on pushing the boundaries of virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Their project is to create a new reality for human beings—what has come to be called the "metaverse."We brought Carl on to talk about what all this means. What are the implications for our families and institutions? What are the implications for our faith? How might the theology of the Restored Gospel inform how we move into this new reality? And what about technologies that may offer the possibility to dramatically extend our lifespans? What does a faith that honors the centrality of God's creation and that honors death as an essential part of a foreordained plan have to say? These are huge and sobering questions, but they're also exciting to explore. Bill Turnbull, one of the founders of Faith Matters, also joined us for this conversation.Carl is a co-founder of the Mormon Transhumanist Association, an organization founded to consider the intersection between our faith and the frontiers of technology. The MTA is hosting a conference in Provo this spring, on Saturday, March 19, at which nationally-recognized experts on things like blockchain, crypto and Web 3 will address the implications of these technologies for our society and, by extension, for our faith. Registration info for this conference can be at the end of the episode. Faith Matters has no affiliation with MTA and offers no opinion on their approach, but we acknowledge their efforts in addressing some of the biggest questions of our day.

Catch my video interview with Brock Armstrong here Finding your WHY as an athlete and enhancing your health and performance even as you age is vital. Aging comes with different changes, and it's okay to shift your goal and focus in life to find what works for you. However, for most of us, age is a number with a lot of baggage, most notably, the excuse to let yourself off the hook and put off improving your life. Some things become less important along the way but give yourself permission to shift and stop using age as an excuse for things that you can control. This is the only way to achieve true change and live for your future self. The choices you make today will either help you transform into the best version of yourself tomorrow or vice versa. Join the conversation with Brock Armstrong as he shares how you can find your whys and strategize your choices to align with your vision for your life. What are the elements of a great "offer" that compels someone to buy your product? Last November, I received a mail order catalog from Shutterfly, the online photo printing company. On the cover was a small coupon code with the following words: 50% off all cards, photobooks, and calendars. 40% off everything else plus free shipping. BOOM. I ran to my computer that night to set up my order, and an hour later, I had dropped $350. WHY did I do that? How did Shutterfly pull that off? What were the elements of that offer that made me buy? Using my Shutterfly case study, I'll help you see how you too can build an offer that makes your ideal customer take notice. We'll cover: why targeting the right person is so important how to get the timing right why you must lead with the correct product how to position the price so the person feels good about it why a little bit of urgency and scarcity will seal the deal Need help building a CSA farm from scratch this year? Perhaps more than ever we're living in a day of worry and anxiety. But this isn't new. Over 2,000 years ago Jesus stood on the edge of the Sea of Galilee and addressed our tendency to let anxiety overtake us. We're continuing to move through Jesus' Sermon on the Mount where we'll find real help for our anxious souls. A sneak peek at what's in store? When we treasure the wrong things our hearts become anxious. But when our hearts value eternal things—our relationship with God and others—our treasures are secure. One of my favorite parts of Jesus' sermon is when He tells us to look at the birds and flowers to see how He cares for them. How much more He cares for us! We're unpacking all of this and more. I hope you'll join me for some soul rest in this episode. Looking for a new ONLINE Bible Study? Sign up here for the Encountering God Online Bible study, starting January 13, 2022. Intimate Covenant Podcast - biblical perspective for a fuller marriage and extraordinary sex

In this episode, Matt & Jenn discuss the oft quoted Bible passage 1 Corinthians 7:1-5 and whether this scripture gives a spouse the right to demand sex from his/her spouse.Overall, 1 Corinthians 7 teaches that I am obligated to meet the sexual needs of my spouse. But this passage does NOT give me authority to demand sex from my spouse. Demanding or offering sex out of obligation is not Christ-like and is unhealthy for your marriage. When there is a sexual fast in your marriage, there needs needs to be ongoing conversation about it and it needs to be for the betterment of the spiritual and emotional relationship.Come and Meet Us In-Person:Louisville, KY — March 4 & 5: DESIRING an Intimate Covenant, marriage seminar. The ask by this practice owner is being influenced by the fact that they seem to produce more revenue in 3 days than an associate can produce in 4 days a week. The practice is growing and profitable and everyone is onboard with the idea of expanding their hospital footprint and this practice owner is feeling the weight of the world on their shoulders, financially speaking, and wanting to feel support from their associates in terms of increasing revenue, to help feel better about leaping into big financial investment in terms of renovation. Time is a flat circle and it feels like we're back where we began. What a paraphilia is (hint: it's not just the big scary ones) how they develop (thanks Disney) and what you can do about them once you're an adult (accept them and deal with them in as healthy a manner as possible.)  One thing Savrin did fail to mention in the episode is that for people who seek therapy for dealing with paraphilic issues, finding a therapist certified by AASECT - The American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists - Is going to be your best bet, as they're specifically trained on the topics.
