We have embarked on a new series about the book of Galatians. This masterpiece was written by Apostle Paul to the churches in the region of Galatia to address a perversion of the gospel that required Gentile Christians to adopt and practice the requirements of the Mosaic Law in order to be fully accepted into God's covenant family. This past Sunday, our children did a splendid job of acting the Nativity Story followed by message by Sam and Lydia reminding us of the reason why we celebrate Christmas.

It is that time of the year again - Christmas deco everywhere, malls playing Christmas themed music, meticulous holiday plans being made etc. Sadly, the reason for the season often gets lost along the way. This Sunday we heard about the various small fellowships within the church that provide for discipleship and accountability among us. We believe that these home groups or missional communities are the backbone of a healthy church. Linette also shared on one of the cultures of the KIC Lubowa, honor. We are called to honor God, first and foremost, as well as honor one another recognizing that God created each one of us with value and that we all have something unique we bring to the beauty and richness we have as His body.

We have kicked off a new series titled We the Church where we will revisit who we are as KIC Lubowa. This past Sunday, Monica shared some timely reminders on God's heart for the Church as His body here on earth, and together with Gerry reminded us of our unique identity - our mission, values, different ministries within the church, and our governance structure.

Our guest speaker, Bobbie Howley shares a timely and critical message on how to find comfort in God during times when we don't feel fine. She reminds us of the value of vulnerability, the place of prayer and the Word as well as the role of community when we are hurting

We are going through the book of Exodus as a church and it has been encouraging to see God's heart for His people through the lens of Israel in Egypt. This past weekend, Michael Ichter shared from Exodus 11-15 on the deliverance of Israel from Egypt and the crossing of the red sea. This epic story mirrors the heart of God for all men to be delivered from the clutches of the kingdom of darkness into His marvelous light.

The focus on the message is not so much the plagues as it is the greatness of God and the fact that He alone is God. Pharaoh's stubbornness is no match for God's power, and ultimately his hard heart leads to the utter destruction of Egypt.

Guest speaker, Bobbie Howley shares about Giving from Philippians 4:10-20. She reminds us that God never intended for giving to be something we only do out of duty but rather something we enjoy to do because of the opportunity it presents us - to relieve the burden of others and ultimately glorify God. She also reminds us of the importance of living simpler lives so that we have the capacity to give of our resources and time when the opportunity to give presents itself.

As a follow up on the sermon on the Great Commission, Monica Karungi shares a message on the role of the Holy Spirit in empowering the believer to carry out this mandate.
