Have you ever felt guilty for taking a break from work? Do you find it challenging to balance your creative pursuits with your professional responsibilities? If so, you're not alone. Many therapists struggle with feelings of guilt or abandon if they take time away from their practice and worry that clients will need them while they're gone or not come back to therapy once the vacation has ended. Edgar Fabián Frías, LMFT, and graduate of the Money Skills for Therapists course, brings their current challenge of allowing themselves permission to rest, trust the systems, and redefine what sustainability looks like in their work and life to the show. Edgar has built financial buffers and created sustainability in their practice, but not yet allowed themselves a real break. Balancing Rest and Business Growth If you are someone who finds it hard to take time off, and you know you need a break but you keep pushing that vacation into the future, here are a few questions Edgar and I work through: What if I lose connections with my clients during my time off? Will I have to start over again after taking a vacation? Will my clients seek support elsewhere if I'm not available for a month? What if my absence affects the progress and goals of my clients? What if taking time off leads to missed opportunities or setbacks in my practice? How can I take time for myself but also serve my clients well? Conquering the Fears Around Taking Time Off (00:00:10) Balancing Creativity with Professional Responsibilities (00:09:33) Therapists' Emphasis on Personal Growth Practices (00:14:06) Creative Breaks: Nurturing Therapist's Business Growth (00:16:28) The Transformative Power of Rest and Exploration (00:17:27) Creative Time Management for Productivity and Balance (00:22:35) Maintaining Financial Security During Extended Absences Elevating Your Therapy Services from a Place of Rest Overcoming the fear of taking time off is a journey that requires self-awareness, resilience, and a willingness to prioritize your well-being. As a therapist, it's essential to find a balance between work responsibilities and creative pursuits, while also ensuring financial stability and taking breaks to recharge. One practical tip is to create a schedule that allows for dedicated time for both work and creative activities. Set boundaries and stick to them, ensuring that you have time for self-care and relaxation. Remember, you deserve time off to rest, relax, and rejuvenate. Taking breaks can actually boost your creativity and productivity in the long run. (00:23:34) "And I honestly as like, you know someone who was so tainted by money and felt so out of control with it. It's been so amazing to be on the other side of it and be like, oh, my gosh, I'm comfortable with money. And I also feel like I have this ability to dream." - Edgar Fabián Frías (00:28:13) "When we never take time away, when we don't show them that we're living expansive lives, they know that on some level, you know, that we are someone who works all the time and isn't actually out exploring and enjoying the world, as we are often supporting our clients to be able to do so." - Linzy Bonham Interested in working with Linzy? Are you highly skilled, experienced, and passionate about your work, but still struggling to get fully booked with the right clients? In this refreshingly honest episode, Anna Lundberg unpacks why even top experts find it tough to thrive in today's challenging market. Discover why this isn't the time to wait for things to improve, but to sharpen your positioning, messaging, and visibility to stand out - even now. Tune in to reframe your strategy and uncover the real keys to business growth in uncertain times. Key takeaways: The Market Has Shifted—But Opportunity Remains The economic landscape is more demanding, with budget cuts and changing priorities making it harder to attract attention. However, clients are still investing—just more selectively, and with a focus on immediate, tangible results. Three Reasons You're Not Booked Out Unclear or Uncompelling Offers: Vague, long-term, or “fluffy” messaging doesn't resonate in a risk-averse market. Offers need to address urgent, concrete business needs. Positioning That Undersells You: Many experts, especially women, downplay their expertise instead of confidently owning their experience and value. Visibility That Lacks Consistency and Focus: Sporadic or unfocused marketing often leads to getting lost in the noise. Clear, intentional pathways to your ideal clients are essential. Mission vs. Messaging: What Sells Now Lead with what your client needs—typically profit, productivity or specific outcomes—then weave in your bigger mission once you've opened the door. Future-Proofing Your Business Stop accepting ‘just any client' out of necessity. Position yourself for the work (and clients) you truly want, and start building that reputation now for real, lasting growth. Ready to build a business that actually works - even in a tough market? The Business Accelerator is for experienced coaches, consultants, and independent experts who want to grow sustainably, protect their time, and consistently attract the right clients - without hustle or compromise.

Jonathan Leonardo returns to share his journey through the challenges of pastoring while maintaining gospel integrity, revealing how institutional pressure led to personal compromise before finding freedom in uncompromised truth.• Transitioning from evangelist to pastor created tension between preaching clear gospel freedom and meeting denominational expectations• The Seventh-day Adventist relationship with the law creates unique challenges when preaching freedom from sin• Public criticism from denominational leadership created real-world consequences for Jonathan and his ministry• Compromising gospel clarity for job security led to internal dissonance and declining mental health• The pain of rejection from a church community that had been like a "third parent" was particularly devastating• Finding freedom required choosing conscience over compromise, even at professional cost• Despite challenges, Jonathan maintains his Adventist identity while refusing to water down the gospel message• Moving forward with greater awareness while continuing to preach the transformative power of being in ChristJoin us for Internet Church in the coming months as Jonathan explores living without double-mindedness and dives into seeing the gospel in Leviticus and Hebrews.

Every clinician holds within them a remarkable blend of skills, passion, and untapped potential that extends far beyond the walls of traditional medicine. Yet the relentless demands of patient care, long hours, and financial pressures often keep us from exploring paths that could ignite new growth and purpose. Professional identity is not defined solely by a title or the letters after your name. It is the beautiful intersection of your talents, your passions, and the meaningful impact you choose to create. True success does not ask you to compromise your well-being or values. It asks for clarity, intention, and courage. Every step into entrepreneurship, side ventures, or wellness initiatives becomes an opportunity to test your abilities, honor your values, and expand the ways you contribute to the world. This journey is not about leaving your calling behind. It is about uncovering the many dimensions of who you are and embracing them fully. Each step toward aligning your skills, your heart, and your purpose brings you closer to a life and career that deeply nourishes both. Taylor Herzer, MPAS, PA-C is a board-certified Physician Associate with a heart for both saving lives and helping people feel confident in their own skin. Starting her career in the fast-paced ER, she mastered the art of staying calm under pressure before bringing that same skill and precision to the world of aesthetics and wellness. She's passionate about helping people feel confident, educating them on their options, and building lasting relationships based on trust. In this episode with Taylor Herzer, a physician associate who has combined her medical training with a passion for wellness and aesthetics. Taylor opens up about her time in the emergency room during COVID-19, how it shaped her approach to patient care, and why empowering people to take charge of their own health matters. She also shares her journey into functional medicine, her perspective on balancing traditional and holistic approaches, and how entrepreneurship allowed her to use her skills in a way that truly feels fulfilling. "You're not leaving your calling whenever you go and do something else, you could be finding the thing that is just as fulfilling, but just another facet of who you are and another gift that you've been given." – Taylor Herzer MPAS, PA-C Topics Covered: (00:00:36) Introducing our guest, Taylor Herzer MPAS, PA-C (00:02:00) The flexibility of the physician associate (PA) role (00:05:01) ER work during COVID-19 and adapting to uncertainty (00:07:16) Not everything requires a prescription (00:11:39) Empowering patients to take ownership of their health (00:15:02) Entrepreneurship can be taught (00:18:15) Breaking the “One Title Only” Mindset (00:20:52) Discovering Bravenly Global as a clinician (00:22:54) Advertisement: Struggling with your finances as a young physician? What does modern cybersecurity look like when you're leading a federally regulated financial institution serving Canadians from coast to coast? In this episode, recorded at Cisco Live last month, I sat down with Shawn Spurko, VP of Information and Cybersecurity at Innovation Federal Credit Union. Based in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, but now operating across the country, Shawn Spurko has played a key role in building a security posture that treats laptops as offices and supports a workforce no longer tethered to physical locations. Shawn Spurkoshares his journey from service desk and web design to becoming a cybersecurity leader, and offers a refreshingly grounded view of how to approach regulation, zero trust, and digital maturity. He explains how Innovation CU's move from a provincial to a federal charter transformed their compliance obligations and how solutions like Cisco Secure Access enabled them to scale security seamlessly for a hybrid workforce. We explore why transparent, user-friendly security is no longer optional and how mature implementations of SWG, ZTNA, DLP, and management tunnels are quietly solving problems before users even notice them. Shawn Spurkoalso opens up about the practical realities of working with tools that are constantly evolving, and how his team reviews every new feature not just for capability but for how it maps to regulatory controls like Canada's OSFI B-13. This episode is a masterclass in modern cyber strategy, but it's also a reminder that the goal isn't complexity, it's making things work, everywhere, all the time. So, as the cybersecurity landscape continues to shift and regulators tighten expectations, how are you designing systems that work for both users and auditors? And what lessons can we all learn from financial services as we navigate this new world of anywhere access?

As conversations around sexuality and gender identity dominate today's culture, Christian parents face a daunting challenge: how do we love our daughters unconditionally while holding fast to Biblical truth? With the world telling girls that identity is self-defined and ever-changing, it's more important than ever to guide them back to the unchanging truth of God's Word.    In this powerful episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, host Patti Garibay (Founder & Executive Director Emeritus, American Heritage Girls) is joined by Melinda Patrick—Director of Parent Support for His Wonderful Works, podcast host of The Bridge Between Us, and author of The Daring Rescue. Drawing from her own family's journey, Melinda offers practical wisdom and heartfelt encouragement for parents navigating conversations around LGBTQ identity with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith.    Together, Patti and Melinda dive into the pressing issues facing Gen Z girls today—and Gen Alpha girls to follow—from cultural pressures during Pride Month to the influence of social media and shifting moral standards. They explore how to communicate Biblical values without compromising love, why intercessory prayer is vital, and how parents can overcome feelings of shame, fear, or confusion when their child's beliefs clash with their faith upbringing.    This episode also unpacks Melinda's three key principles for loving your daughter while standing firm in truth: engaging with God, embracing your God-given role as a parent, and trusting in the spiritual equipping God provides. Melinda reminds listeners that God never calls us into battle unprepared—and that victory lies in co-laboring with Him.    Whether you're a Christian parent walking through these sensitive conversations now or preparing for the future, this episode will equip you with Biblical wisdom, compassionate strategies, and the encouragement to lead your daughter in truth and love.    Learn more about Melinda's ministry, resources, and podcast at melindapatrick.org.    Find an American Heritage Girls Troop near you, visit americanheritagegirls.org        Add even more Biblical wisdom to your parenting quiver, visit raisinggodlygirls.com

In a world where “love” is often redefined by culture, how can Christian parents teach their daughters to love others while remaining anchored to God's unchanging truth? This week on the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, co-hosts Rachael and Melissa tackle one of the most pressing and sensitive conversations facing families today—how to love without compromise during LGBTQ Pride Month and beyond.  Our girls are growing up in an age of loud messages about identity, sexuality, and affirmation—many of which directly contradict the Biblical Worldview. Whether they hear it in school, see it on social media, or experience it within their own friend groups, they're being asked to choose between “truth” and “love”. But what if they don't have to? What if, instead, we taught them how to walk in both—just like Jesus did?  This episode features insights from AHG Founder and Executive Director Emeritus Patti Garibay, who reminds us that Jesus never separated love from truth. With a Biblical lens from Matthew 5:17 and John 1:14, Rachael and Melissa reflect on the importance of helping our daughters see people first, speak the truth boldly, and love others deeply without affirming sin. They also share personal stories—from late-night questions to identity confusion in the tween years—and offer encouragement for parents navigating similar seasons.  You'll walk away with practical tools to help your girl understand that true love is not silent in the face of sin, nor is it unkind in the name of righteousness. Instead, Biblical love rejoices in the truth and points others to the hope and freedom found in Christ.  Whether you're having a conversation around the dinner table or sitting fireside at AHG camp, this episode will equip you to disciple your daughter with clarity, compassion, and confidence.  Subscribe now and join the Raising Godly Girls community as we raise daughters who reflect Christ's love—full of grace and truth.  Find an American Heritage Girls Troop near you, visit americanheritagegirls.org        Add even more Biblical wisdom to your parenting quiver, visit raisinggodlygirls.com
