What does modern cybersecurity look like when you're leading a federally regulated financial institution serving Canadians from coast to coast? In this episode, recorded at Cisco Live last month, I sat down with Shawn Spurko, VP of Information and Cybersecurity at Innovation Federal Credit Union. Based in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, but now operating across the country, Shawn Spurko has played a key role in building a security posture that treats laptops as offices and supports a workforce no longer tethered to physical locations. Shawn Spurkoshares his journey from service desk and web design to becoming a cybersecurity leader, and offers a refreshingly grounded view of how to approach regulation, zero trust, and digital maturity. He explains how Innovation CU's move from a provincial to a federal charter transformed their compliance obligations and how solutions like Cisco Secure Access enabled them to scale security seamlessly for a hybrid workforce. We explore why transparent, user-friendly security is no longer optional and how mature implementations of SWG, ZTNA, DLP, and management tunnels are quietly solving problems before users even notice them. Shawn Spurkoalso opens up about the practical realities of working with tools that are constantly evolving, and how his team reviews every new feature not just for capability but for how it maps to regulatory controls like Canada's OSFI B-13. This episode is a masterclass in modern cyber strategy, but it's also a reminder that the goal isn't complexity, it's making things work, everywhere, all the time. So, as the cybersecurity landscape continues to shift and regulators tighten expectations, how are you designing systems that work for both users and auditors? And what lessons can we all learn from financial services as we navigate this new world of anywhere access?

In this episode of BFR Radio, we explores a novel and practical approach to blood flow restriction (BFR) training—applying BFR after sprint intervals, during the recovery period. Drawing on recent research in trained cyclists, we examine how this method can significantly increase VO₂max (by 4.5%) without compromising sprint performance or technique. This episode goes beyond the data—highlighting why improving aerobic capacity matters, particularly for athletes in sprint-based or high-intensity intermittent sports. Enhancing oxygen delivery and mitochondrial density not only supports aerobic efficiency but also plays a key role in buffering capacity, lactate clearance, and recovery between high-output efforts. Key Points Discussed: Study overview: Sprint interval training with post-exercise BFR Increases in VO₂max without detriment to sprint performance Muscle biopsy findings: HIF-1α and its role in angiogenesis Why aerobic development is critical—even for sprinters Potential applications in track and field (200–400m), rugby sevens, and other high-intensity running sports Practical programming: Suggested BFR recovery protocol after sprint efforts Short- vs long-term adaptation: What to monitor beyond VO₂max This approach is particularly valuable when BFR during the work phase is not feasible or tolerable. By applying BFR during passive recovery, coaches and athletes may unlock meaningful adaptations without interfering with intensity or movement quality. Thanks for listening, and remember to keep the pump! Chris

For example, Federal News Network has reported that 25% of the IRS technology staff have left. Additionally, funding has been reduced, data stores are increasing, and we are all trying to understand the impact of Artificial Intelligence. Today, we sat down with Phoebe Nerdahl and Sayed Said from SNYK. They offer solutions to address the challenges of changing technology in this environment. The approach from SNYK is to start at the beginning of the code development process, what is called a shift left. They discussed the need for a secure framework for AI adoption, leveraging Snyk's proprietary database and security research team to enhance code security. The conversation also touches on the evolving definition of AI and its integration into various applications. Snyk's AI Trust Platform aims to protect against insecure AI-generated code, emphasizing continuous security monitoring and automation. They have a vulnerability database, which enables them to review code for potential issues. Further, their platform can automate this needed remediation.

Game production lives and dies on planning—but most teams are still building like it's 2010. In this episode, Ben is joined by Jeanne-Marie Owens and Jesse Houston of Critical Path to reveal better ways a studio can function based on decades of experience. From the myth of the “critical path” to the illusion that things will magically come together in the final stretch, they explain why “figure it out later” kills projects, how lack of real commitment cripples teams, and what it actually takes to build a dependable studio culture. Hint: It's not a short list of “values.” This is a wake-up call for any studio still relying on outdated ideas about how work gets done, and a practical guide to doing better.

As conversations around sexuality and gender identity dominate today's culture, Christian parents face a daunting challenge: how do we love our daughters unconditionally while holding fast to Biblical truth? With the world telling girls that identity is self-defined and ever-changing, it's more important than ever to guide them back to the unchanging truth of God's Word. In this powerful episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, host Patti Garibay (Founder & Executive Director Emeritus, American Heritage Girls) is joined by Melinda Patrick—Director of Parent Support for His Wonderful Works, podcast host of The Bridge Between Us, and author of The Daring Rescue. Drawing from her own family's journey, Melinda offers practical wisdom and heartfelt encouragement for parents navigating conversations around LGBTQ identity with grace, compassion, and unwavering faith. Together, Patti and Melinda dive into the pressing issues facing Gen Z girls today—and Gen Alpha girls to follow—from cultural pressures during Pride Month to the influence of social media and shifting moral standards. They explore how to communicate Biblical values without compromising love, why intercessory prayer is vital, and how parents can overcome feelings of shame, fear, or confusion when their child's beliefs clash with their faith upbringing. This episode also unpacks Melinda's three key principles for loving your daughter while standing firm in truth: engaging with God, embracing your God-given role as a parent, and trusting in the spiritual equipping God provides. Melinda reminds listeners that God never calls us into battle unprepared—and that victory lies in co-laboring with Him. Whether you're a Christian parent walking through these sensitive conversations now or preparing for the future, this episode will equip you with Biblical wisdom, compassionate strategies, and the encouragement to lead your daughter in truth and love. In a world where “love” is often redefined by culture, how can Christian parents teach their daughters to love others while remaining anchored to God's unchanging truth? This week on the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, co-hosts Rachael and Melissa tackle one of the most pressing and sensitive conversations facing families today—how to love without compromise during LGBTQ Pride Month and beyond. Our girls are growing up in an age of loud messages about identity, sexuality, and affirmation—many of which directly contradict the Biblical Worldview. Whether they hear it in school, see it on social media, or experience it within their own friend groups, they're being asked to choose between “truth” and “love”. But what if they don't have to? What if, instead, we taught them how to walk in both—just like Jesus did? This episode features insights from AHG Founder and Executive Director Emeritus Patti Garibay, who reminds us that Jesus never separated love from truth. With a Biblical lens from Matthew 5:17 and John 1:14, Rachael and Melissa reflect on the importance of helping our daughters see people first, speak the truth boldly, and love others deeply without affirming sin. They also share personal stories—from late-night questions to identity confusion in the tween years—and offer encouragement for parents navigating similar seasons. You'll walk away with practical tools to help your girl understand that true love is not silent in the face of sin, nor is it unkind in the name of righteousness. Instead, Biblical love rejoices in the truth and points others to the hope and freedom found in Christ. Whether you're having a conversation around the dinner table or sitting fireside at AHG camp, this episode will equip you to disciple your daughter with clarity, compassion, and confidence. This podcast is a part of a collection of podcasts recorded at ISC West 2025 and previously shared on social media. “We don't look for faces—we look for behaviors.” — Corbin Uselton, Koshee Security, speaking with Doug Green at ISC West 2025 At ISC West 2025, Technology Reseller News publisher Doug Green met with Corbin Uselton of Koshee Security to explore how the company is using AI to elevate surveillance while respecting privacy. Koshee's flagship product, Koshee Protect, uses on-site AI detection to monitor security camera feeds in real time—identifying suspicious behaviors such as theft, weapon detection, perimeter breaches, and more. “We're not doing facial recognition,” Uselton emphasized. “We're focused on behaviors—jumping a fence, concealing an item, or pulling a weapon—not identities.” The system is designed for a range of customers, from small retailers and gas stations to global logistics companies. It works by processing video locally, maintaining privacy compliance while sending immediate alerts with image frames when predefined threats or behaviors are detected. The platform is highly configurable, allowing users to set different detection parameters by camera, location, and time of day. Koshee also provides role-based alerts, enabling specific employees to receive notifications depending on the context—such as detecting weapons in restricted zones or after-hours movement on remote sites. With integration options for both direct customers and channel partners (like MDI), Koshee is enabling smarter, more responsive security without compromising data ethics. Today, Ron returns to the book of Revelation and a letter written to the church at Pergamum. They had begun to compromise the Word of God, and Jesus strongly admonished them. As you follow along today, see what similarities you may find between Pergamum and the church here in twenty-first-century America.
Sometimes in life you have to compromise. In marriage. In friendship. On the job. But there's a time to meet halfway, and a time to stand your ground. In the book of Revelation, the church at Pergamum had begun to compromise the Word of God. Its members encountered some false teaching, and they decided to go along, to get along. Today, Ron examines what Jesus had to say to them and how we can apply it to our own Christian experience.

In this episode, we speak with Amaury Barberot, CEO of Expliseat, about how the company's innovative lightweight seating technology is delivering immediate sustainability benefits for airlines while improving their bottom line.Barberot discusses:Expliseat's revolutionary aircraft seat design made from carbon fibre and titanium that is 30% lighter than comparable products, saving approximately 1,200 kilograms when retrofitted on an Airbus A320 or Boeing 737.The immediate environmental impact of their lightweight seats, which deliver a 6% CO2 emission reduction per passenger without requiring airlines to wait for future technology developments. How the weight reduction focuses on the "invisible parts" of the seat, preserving passenger comfort while still delivering sustainability benefits. The company's circular manufacturing approach, which recycles industrial waste from seat frames to create new components like tray tables, further reducing their environmental footprint.Their recent expansion into the rail industry, where their lightweight technology helps train operators overcome axle weight limitations to improve passenger amenities or increase capacity.Barberot emphasises that Expliseat represents one of the rare sustainability solutions where "CSO and CFO do not fight," highlighting how their technology aligns environmental and economic objectives for airlines across different regions and business models. If you LOVED this episode, you'll also love the conversation we had with Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO at RECARO Aircraft Seating and Recaro Holding. Building on last week's sermon on homosexuality from the “Lies We Believe” series, both pastors discuss advice for those with relatives living in homosexuality and what to do when you get invited to a gay "wedding" as a Christian. You'll hear how the gospel offers both truth and grace, how God's holiness intersects with brokenness, and how redemption is always possible—no matter how deep the pain or sin.Whether you're personally wrestling with these issues or walking alongside someone who is, this episode offers clarity, hope, and biblical courage.Sunday's sermon on YT - Lies We Believe About Homosexuality: https://youtu.be/2fAkJK1JXmATo submit questions about sex, singleness, & marriage, follow the link for Josh to answer on a future podcast: https://us10.list-manage.com/survey?u=e56b1c573d4107e366e1696df&id=054358ea35Support the showThanks for listening! At the Bringing America Back to Life conference, Abby Johnson delivers a fiery rebuke of the pro-life movement's failures, calling out weak leadership, moral cowardice, and compromises that have allowed abortion to persist. She exposes the truth about at-home chemical abortions, blasts the Church for refusing to confront sin, and demands that abortion be treated as murder—without exception. The fight for life is a spiritual war, and it's time to stop playing nice. Will the pro-life movement rise to the challenge, or will it continue to fail the unborn?U.S. residents! In today's episode, we're discussing the recent season finale of the Netflix reality dating show "Love Is Blind" and the two women who left their fiancés at the altar over political differences! Really, the men should have noticed the red flags sooner, but at least they dodged those bullets at the last minute. We also break down some more bad theology from the creators of the 2022 documentary "1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture," thanks to the promotion of the recent web series. We debunk the creators' claims about the Bible's condemnation of homosexuality and the LGBT community stemming from a translation error, and we go back to scripture to remember how God defines marriage and what our standard ought to be. Segment 3: • Scott partners with Catholics on pro-life issues—Todd is hesitant. • Does working together send a false unity message? • If the Gospel isn't clearly proclaimed, is it worth the partnership? Segment 4: • Both sides want abortion abolished—disagreement is on strategy. • Incrementalism saves lives now, abolitionists demand immediate justice. • Are abolitionists hurting their cause by rejecting practical steps?
