Pastor Patrick Harrison Amos 2:6-16 Judgment on A Corrupt Society
This time, the weird election anomalies are affecting the democrat primary in Wisconsin, and guess who the error benefits? It's always the same. Tricia and Ryan start the show with Fauci-talk 101, and the latest.
DESCRIPTION: Joe Rogan appears to finally be coming to terms with the scale of Donald Trump's corruption—but is it too little, too late? Plus, Hasan Piker threatens to sue CNN commentator Scott Jennings for defamation, and disturbing updates reveal the reportedly abysmal conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. Dave breaks it all down on the morning edition of The Rush Hour podcast.
Danny Walsh grew up in Texas with a mother consumed by addiction and a father who was never in the picture — and when he and his brother essentially raised each other as teenagers on their own the path toward trouble found them both before anyone was old enough to stop it. In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick, he shares how an early sentence in the Texas Department of Corrections led him to become a peckerwood and join one of the most notorious prison gangs in the Texas system before a federal conviction in his early 20s handed him 25 years and sent him into the most brutal maximum security federal penitentiaries in the United States. He opens up about becoming a shot caller — the power, the rules, the violence and the politics that position actually involves — what spending years in solitary confinement did to him mentally and what the PTSD that prison produced has made reacclimating into society nearly impossible in ways that the system that put him there has done almost nothing to address. _____________________________________________ #shotcaller #federalprison #truecrimestories _____________________________________________ Thank you to HIMS & FACTOR for sponsoring this episode: Hims: Visit https://hims.com/lockedin to get a personalized, affordable plan that gets you. _____________________________________________ Factor: Head to https://factormeals.com/lockedin50off and use code lockedin50off to get 50 percent off and 1 free breakfast item per box for 1 year, while supplies last until! _____________________________________________ Hosted, Executive Produced & Edited By Ian Bick: https://www.instagram.com/ian_bick/?hl=en https://ianbick.com/ _____________________________________________ Timestamps: 00:00 Growing up in a rough Houston neighborhood 04:08 Early drinking and harmful experiences 06:06 Normalizing poverty and abuse 06:55 Time in isolation and breaking down demons 08:15 Fighting to stay un-institutionalized 09:59 The dangers of accepting prison as home 10:40 A bus station lesson in institutionalization 11:40 Refusing to accept a prisoner's life 12:52 Youthful dreams of the military and football 13:48 Arrested and learning the code 15:15 Brother's tough lessons on loyalty 16:32 Drug use and the cycle of incarceration 17:42 Facing federal charges and refusing to snitch 19:43 The deal is a lie: 25-year sentence 22:20 Betrayed by a lawyer and becoming hardened 24:39 Why the excessive sentence? 25:45 Rejecting the state's offer on principle 28:01 Adapting from state to federal politics 29:49 TDC initiation: riots and lockdown 34:05 Surviving lockdown and a cell fire 36:15 Joining a Texas prison gang 38:08 Your gang arrives in the feds 39:37 Taking control and building respect 41:07 The lie of gang philosophy 44:32 The failure of the prison system 46:40 Fighting for resentencing and 11 years over time 48:42 Release: 23 years later and a new world 52:35 Initial struggles with a changed society 54:55 Getting a job and building a new life 58:02 Fired by the state for tattoos 01:00:49 The struggle for identity and self-love 01:02:55 Jail habits that persist 01:04:24 Why not join another white gang? 01:05:43 Misconceptions about white inmates 01:08:12 A fight for respect over a TV 01:13:40 Relationships with other races and gangs 01:18:00 Prison economy and cross-racial business 01:20:18 How did you become a shot caller? 01:23:56 Dispensing justice and avoiding trouble 01:27:10 Sex cases and the white racial code 01:30:40 The meaning behind prison tattoos 01:34:38 Regretting gang involvement and ink 01:36:43 The origins of the Woods and Texas gangs 01:40:22 Are all white guys 'peckerwoods'? 01:41:06 Why did you stay in the gang in the feds? 01:42:08 Treachery within your own ranks 01:45:39 Can the BOP eliminate gangs? 01:49:10 Why the feds keep you divided 01:55:20 The burden of being a shot caller 01:59:40 Becoming an animal and losing yourself 02:02:50 The mental toll and nightmares of prison 02:05:28 Learning to keep your word and integrity 02:08:48 Feeling compelled to violence 02:11:10 Coping with the trauma of solitary 02:14:24 The need for prison reform and support 02:18:15 Released with no help or programs 02:23:52 Job struggles and endless punishment 02:29:36 The ongoing stigma of a felony 02:32:26 Corrupt guards and a lack of control 02:36:10 The chaos of maximum-security life 02:39:20 Debunking the 'sit to pee' myth 02:43:04 You were left alone and the system failed you 02:45:40 Learning to navigate prison safely 02:48:00 Proving yourself and survival instincts 02:50:07 Good guys in bad gangs 02:53:35 A close call with a conspiracy to kill you 03:00:52 Saved from a plot and changing your ways 03:03:39 Why are you here and how did you survive? 03:04:48 The struggle to find a job after power 03:06:48 Women and bad company send men back 03:08:23 Finding peace in a wine bar 03:10:12 Learning to love yourself and move on 03:12:42 Cherishing freedom and family 03:16:32 Advice to your younger self _____________________________________________ To advertise on the show, contact sales@advertisecast.com or visit https://advertising.libsyn.com/LockedInWithIanBicka

A2 THE SHOW #625
https://teachhoops.com/ If you audit a standard, average basketball practice on a cold Tuesday afternoon in January, you will see a gym overflowing with unintentional friction. You will witness coaches who blow the whistle to deliver ten-minute lectures while twelve players stand completely still, watching their core body temperatures plummet. You will see long, single-file lines where athletes wait passively for two minutes just to take a single, un-contested layup. And you will see head coaches screaming directives on every single possession, acting as a human joystick while their players move like robotic actors. They don't do this maliciously; they do it because "clean" practices feel like real coaching. But when you step into the "Truth Room," you realize that allowing these subtle habits to exist introduces a massive operational leak into your culture. In this episode of Coach Unplugged, recorded live at 5th Quarter Studios in Madison, Wisconsin, Coach Collins flips the clipboard around to outline the non-negotiable Things We Should Avoid at Practice. We break down the absolute poison of low activity density, single-file lines, zero-decision choreography, and coach-fed joystick directives. Discover how purging these six destructive habits from your 120-minute practice script will instantly elevate your team's independent Decision IQ, maximize your game-night Effective Field Goal Percentage ($eFG%$), and slide your roster into an unshakeable, player-led standard. To protect your program's unyielding Standard of Tolerance and maximize your team's long-term Resilience Equity, your staff must actively purge these six operational traps from every single practice block: The Leak: Stopping practice to deliver exhaustive, lecture-heavy monologues while players stand frozen on the baseline. The Fix: Banish long huddles during active blocks. Deploy rapid, 60-second "drive-by" socratic corrections on the move. Let The Organizer on your staff police the clock while you deliver sharp, high-signal cues that keep the gears turning. The Leak: Setting up drills where one athlete executes a rep while eleven peers stand behind a cone watching passively. The Fix: Enforce a strict Multi-Ball architecture across all court baskets. Ensure that at least $70%$ of your roster is catching, cutting, or passing concurrently to eliminate hidden boredom leaks and maximize your gym's Activity Density. The Leak: Running scripted, zero-defense drills where the pass, cut, and finish are predetermined before the ball is even inbounded. The Fix: Corrupt every drill with live variables. Add a defender, add a decision, or add a competitive consequence. Force your players to scan live bodies, read collapsing defender hips, and solve dynamic spatial puzzles. The Leak: Screaming instructions on every bounce ("Pass left! Cut now! Shoot it!"), stripping your athletes of their independent decision-making capabilities. The Fix: Put your whistle in your pocket during Small-Sided Games ($SSGs$). Allow your players to fail, adapt, and communicate coverages through the exhaust. Shift your culture from coach-fed compliance to a Player-Led powerhouse. The Leak: Allowing players to shoot comfortable, zero-friction catch-and-shoot jumpers off gentle feeds from a standing passer. The Fix: Require active footwork, spatial cutting geometry, and live high-hands closeouts on every perimeter shot. Game-night shooting efficiency is built through high-stress, contextual repetitions. The Leak: Blowing the whistle to run baseline sprints as a blind punishment for a tactical error, completely severing the mental connection between effort and execution. The Fix: Embed physical strain directly into your competitive drills. If a team turns the ball over or fails to close out with High Hands, put them on defense in a live disadvantage scenario. Teach them how to execute under fatigue rather than just running mindlessly. We don't purge these practice leaks simply to look structured on paper. We eliminate them because dead time, low rep density, and robotic choreography directly destroy your team's mathematical output on Friday night. Every live closeout read, multi-ball pass, and rapid socratic correction directly impacts your team's Effective Field Goal Percentage ($eFG%$): When you replace choreography with functional friction during Tuesday's practice, you ensure that your team possesses the structural armor needed to convert high-efficiency looks under heavy postseason pressure. Coach's Note: "Your job as a program builder isn't to run a clean, tidy practice where everybody looks great doing choreographed routines; your job is to build players who can actually play basketball when you aren't saying a word. Stop standing at the whiteboard for ten minutes, stop letting kids stand in single-file lines, and stop playing the game for them from the baseline. Corrupt your drills, clean up your clock, demand high-hands discipline, and force your players to own the room." Title Ideas: 6 Things You MUST Avoid at Basketball Practice! Apologies for being a little late on this one!Donald Trump sued the IRS, an agency he currently runs, for leaking his own tax returns, and asked for a cool $10 billion. Welcome to Climate Workers Anonymous, where those working in climate share their anonymous and unverified experiences, feelings, and analysis about their labor.Today's show has submissions covering both the highs and the lows. But even in saying that, I wonder if I start to cross my own editorial standards that I discuss in the podcast version of this episode.Someone left a review on Apple Podcasts that made me think—should I be commenting upon the submissions? So far I haven't been. I've been publishing them and letting them stand on their own. I worry that if I say too much I might misinterpret, or point people away from their intended meaning. Or, potentially worse, distract from their truth with my own commentary. One of the other creative projects I work on is Carbon Removal Memes. It's biggest on LinkedIn but starting to stand it up on Substack. I started it and built a writer's room while at my previous company, Nori. It continues on with a rotating cast of meme writers where we workshop our pitches. While I do occasionally have to reign in an editorial take on an issue I think is beyond what is supportable, I mostly try to help people find their funny. I'm not trying to grind my own ax more than theirs. Even if I don't connect with something they made, if they find it funny and stick up for it, I'm willing to give it a shot. If it connects with them, it will likely connect with someone else. It's one of the few rules of making art that I know of—if you don't like what you made, it's unclear who else will. Or at the very least, you will be unable to tell if it is good or not unless someone tells you. That is a difficult aesthetic position to be in.And while I don't agree with the editorial line every meme takes, I don't view it as my role to be the final arbiter of truth. My job is to help others express themselves and make work of which they are proud. That ethos has also prepared me for Climate Workers Anonymous. These are unverified takes people send in. I'm not checking for corroborating sources. This is impressionistic; not journalistic. My work here is to enable others to create and share what they have experienced as true. That leads me to think I should minimize the amount of direct commentary on post submissions. If you think I've made a wrong turn, feel free to comment or send a message. I'm still figuring this out and I want it to be the best version of itself that we can make it.If you are truly a completist, here's a link to Gertrude Stein. I am not sure if this is in fact an apt comparison, but it stands as a thought.Thank you for listening to and reading Climate Workers Anonymous. Subscribe to Substack here, and be sure to subscribe in whichever podcast app you use. An amazing rating and review on those podcast apps does a world of good. Would you please do that for me now? Send us Fan MailWe invited Gavin from Be There With Belson over to talk about the World Cup, and for a few glorious minutes we actually stayed on topic. We get into soccer gatekeeping, why everyone becomes an elite tactical genius every four years, whether FIFA deserves your trust, and the surprisingly wholesome side of a tournament that somehow convinces billions of strangers to care about the same thing at the same time. Then the conversation wanders off like a toddler in the ALDI center aisle. We end up discussing modern dating, self-worth, perimenopause, medieval beer, coffee, conspiracy theories, and when your friends should have veto power over your dating profile. Also, Gavin may have the greatest collection of "How did this happen to me?" stories of any human we've ever met.Topics include: World Cup, soccer, football fandom, FIFA, Premier League, dating apps, self-worth, conspiracy theories, history trivia, Flashbacks, and whatever happened in the ten minutes we forgot to stay on topic.Super Familiar with The Wilsons Find us on instagram at instagram.com/superfamiliarwiththewilsonsand on YoutubeContact us! familiarwilsons@gmail.comA Familiar Wilsons Production

Kyle Overmyer was a cop who crossed the line — battled addiction and ended up in prison. Michael Smitty Smith was a Philadelphia prison guard and cop who spent his entire career on the right side of the badge. In this episode of Locked In with Ian Bick they sit down face to face for the first time — and nothing is off limits. They go deep on what creates a corrupt cop, how former officers are treated inside prison, what prison actually does to people who have worn a badge, whether someone who betrayed the badge can ever truly earn trust back and the moral dilemmas that reveal exactly who each of them really is. _____________________________________________ #corruption #cops #truecrimecommunity _____________________________________________ Thank you to NOCD & CASH APP for sponsoring this episode: NOCD: visit https://www.treatmyocd.com/ to book a free 15-minute call _____________________________________________ CASH APP: Download Cash App Today: https://click.cash.app/ui6m/6pao71et #CashAppPod Cash App is a financial services platform, not a bank.
