One of our most urgent human questions is, "What is God like?" Our answer to that question has a monumental impact on our state of mind and how we conduct our lives. This Sunday, as we continue our inductive study of the New Testament book of Colossians, we'll explore a passage that paints one of the Bible's most vivid and insightful pictures of God. Join us Sunday to deepen your understanding of God and life and who we are meant to be.
Pastor Rick Lancaster continues a series in the letter to the ROMANS: The Gospel of God. The body of Christ is a term we use to describe Christ and all who He has saved. It is His mechanism for reaching a lost and dying world with the gospel. Rick discusses the importance of being an active part of Christ's body. Romans is one of the most influential books of the Bible. It is rich with life-changing truths and deep doctrine. Of all the books of the Bible none carries the potential of spiritual growth like Paul's letter to the believers in Rome. Throughout history Romans has influenced some of the most significant names in the Christian church toward reformation, revival, and awakenings. The Christian church today needs to awaken to the powerful truths found in Romans. Whether you have been in the faith for your whole life or you are brand new to Christianity, Romans has something for each of us to transform and revitalize our faith. In this sermon, Pastor Josh McPherson kicks off a new sermon series ("The Body"), and explains how the church isn't a building but you—the living, Spirit-empowered body of Jesus on earth. Discover why every believer matters, how the Holy Spirit unites and equips us, and what it looks like to live in true interdependence. Pastor Josh illustrates these truths with metaphors of the human body (foot vs. hand), a world-class soccer player's kick, and 37 trillion cells, and he draws practical applications: use your gifts, serve eagerly on teams, honor all members, avoid gossip and division, and bear one another's burdens in healthy community.Support the showThanks for listening! This might be a stretch, but it makes me so happy to think about!
Today on Uncommon Sense with Ginny Robinson, we're hitting a hot topic: America jumping into the Israel-Iran war. And I'm just going to say it—I don't think we should've gotten involved. I've supported Donald Trump for years, but I think he got this wrong.Israel just said they didn't need us. This was their fight. Then suddenly, we're bombing a nuclear site and opening doors that didn't need to be opened. And of course, anyone who questions it gets labeled a “panican.” But guess what? The “panicans” are starting to look more and more like prophets, because now, sleeper cells are stirring, and American churches are already under attack. We don't need to be scared, we need to be wise. The Bible calls us to test the spirits, stay watchful, and seek peace when we can. (1 John 4:1, Romans 12:18). So let's talk about it honestly. Because loving your country (and even loving your favorite president) doesn't mean checking your discernment at the door and always being a yes-man.--https://policecoffee.com/collections/coffee

Brother Chris talks about the body of Christ being our comfort.
The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of ChristThe phrase Body of Christ was a deliberate chose of words for both the Eucharist and the Church. The Second Vatican Council calls the Church the people of God. The people of God are connected spiritually and invisibly to Christ through the gift of the Eucharist. May there be greater bonds of unity and peace as we recognize the gift of God in ourselves and another another.Scripture Readings for June 22, 2025Genesis 14:18-20Psalm 110:1- 41 Corinthians 11:23-26Luke 9:11-17

Preaching for the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, Marianne Duddy-Burke invites to embody Christ's healing, compassion, and abundance by meeting the real needs of our world: "We are also the present embodiment of Christ's ministry of healing, of accompanying one another, of feeding each other. We provide the lifeblood of compassion and hope. To live into this call, we must constantly be willing to share whatever loaves and fishes we have with anyone, moving beyond individualism, tribalism, nationality, or the prioritization of any other identity, to model true stewardship in service to all."Marianne Duddy-Burke is the Executive Director of DignityUSA, working for LGBTQ+ justice and equality in the Catholic Church and society. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, National Catholic Reporter, The Advocate, Washington Post, Huffington Post, and numerous other publications. As we shift into the next verse in this study, we need to understand the meaning of the words which the Apostle Paul uses. There are specific meanings he is trying to get across to the believer.

By Tony Stith - God calls Spirit-led Christians within the body of Christ to serve as spiritual "antibodies"—guarding against the harmful influences and deceptive teachings that threaten the health and unity of His Church. But how can we be sure we're fulfilling this vital role?

Today we have an amazing human being as our guest. Her name is Jennifer Kirsch and she is the mother of three children, one with Down Syndrome. She tells us the story of how her life changed when William was born, how she learned to trust God in the process, and to see William as an integral part of the Body of Christ. While parenting William, God put a mission on her heart to teach Catholic schools and parishes how to see the inherent value in all of God's children and to create programs that allow children with special needs to thrive with their typically developing children. This program is called Shepherd them All. I have always loved learning from Jennifer and I think you will love her today too! https://www.shepherdthemall.orgDo you have a teen girl in your life? Hello friends! Today Dave and Joel are discussing the evidence one will see when the Body of Christ is functioning as God intends. It is critical in these last days that we as a Body are actively shining with Jesus' love to the world, and this discussion focuses on how that happens.
We need the fear of God in our relationships. In this message, Bill Johnson challenges us to live with a holy awareness that every interaction is an opportunity to reveal the heart of God. The way we love—especially when it costs us—becomes a display of His nature to the world. What would change if we truly honored people the way Heaven sees them? When we walk in the fear of the Lord, love takes on its fullest expression. Let God upgrade your vision for what's possible when reverence meets relational connection.
When we want a portrait of the wonderful humility of Christ we need to read Philippians chapter two. There Paul seeks to resolve a conflict in the Philippian church, and writes about our Savior's humility, a trait He wants to produce in us as well. So we will consider humility in the Lord today, one who had the supreme right to be served, but who came to serve in humility. Our study is based in Philippians chapter 2. Pastor Eddie Robinson III, June 1, 2025 - Sunday
At the heart of the Liturgy of the Eucharist is the epiclesis, when the priest begs the Holy Spirit to come and transform the bread and wine into the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ. The Catechism explains this mysterious reality, and Fr. Mike reiterates that the Mass is not a repetition of Christ's once-and-for-all sacrifice, but a re-presentation and celebration of his eternal sacrifice on the Cross. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 1104-1112. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. 2 of the Most Difficult passages of Scripture from 1 Cor. 14: 33-35, and 1 Tim. 2:11-12, have seemingly hurt so many women and have even given the impression that our God might be against women, or even misogynistic. That is furthest from the Truth. In fact, God is For Everyone, women included! In this message, we will take a look into the women Questions pertaining to leadership, teaching and speaking in the church. you cannot miss this one!
Many Christians today tend to have very low views of the Church. In fact, many people treat the Church like a pesky side effect of coming to Jesus. They want all the benefits that Jesus provides, without all the mess of belonging to the Church. But the Bible shows us a much different picture of the Church than we often hear. The Bible often makes reference to the Church as the Bride of Christ, and Ephesians 5:25 says that Christ "loved the church, and gave himself up for her." It also the Church which Christ said that he would build and that the gates of hell would not prevail against it. No other institution has shares in either the promises or the presence of Christ like the Church. And here in this passage we see even more how essential the Church is to the life of a Christian. Paul uses this idea of the "body of Christ" as a metaphor for the church, and in that we see that to Christ and his Church are inseparably united. In other words, we can't have one without the other. We can't be united to Christ without also being united to his Church. This sermon was preached by Jackson Hankey at River City Church in Fargo, ND, on 4/24/2025.

“The Church is communion with Jesus.” The Catechism shows us what it means for the Church to be considered the “body of Christ”. Fr. Mike explains how being part of the Church makes us “united in him, in his body”—more intimately connected with Jesus than even the Apostles were. Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 787-791. This episode has been found to be in conformity with the Catechism by the Institute on the Catechism, under the Subcommittee on the Catechism, USCCB. Today we read about Jesus' powerful teaching about the Eucharist. Fr.
