Jesus Followers Are to Pray Directly to God for “all people” Because God “desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” MESSAGE SUMMARY: Jesus taught us to pray to God for others and ourselves. We are told, in Hebrews 5:7-8, that Jesus, as a Human, prayed to God in both content and manner as: “In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications {submissive requests}, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.". In your personal relationship with God, you can come before God, as Jesus did, on behalf of yourself or others in Intercessory Prayer. You are given the privilege of following Moses' example for Intercessory Prayer because of what Jesus has done for you. Jesus has given you the privilege of entering the Throne Room of God to have access to God the Father – this access to God is through prayer.  In 1 Timothy 2:1-4, we are told the importance if intercessory prayer: “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.".   TODAY'S PRAYER: Unclutter my heart, O God, until I am quiet enough to hear you speak out of the silence. Help me in these few moments to stop, to listen, to wait, to be still, and to allow your presence to envelop me. In Jesus' name, amen.                 Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 23). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because of I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Despair. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Joy. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). But now it seems that at the end of all the scenes of siege, torture and exile, there's Judean king Hezekiah, standing alone. So what's the real message? You don't want to be the star of an Assyrian relief.

Messages at Trinity Church

Revelation 5 brings us into a moment of tension. John sees a scroll that holds the fulfillment of God's purposes for the world, but no one is found worthy to open it. For a moment, it seems as though history has no resolution, and John responds by weeping. This passage names a question many people carry. Is there anyone who can truly make sense of the world, deal with evil, and bring things to their proper end? The answer comes in an unexpected way. In this vision, we see that God's power is not distant or indifferent, but expressed through sacrifice, mercy, and redemption. Scripture: Revelation 5:1–6

At Jesus' Crucifixion and Death, the “Temple Veil” Was Torn; After Jesus Easter Resurrection, You Now Pray Directly with God MESSAGE SUMMARY:  Think about the magnitude of your direct and personal access to God that your prayers give you, through Jesus, if you will only pray. Before Jesus, ordinary people did not have direct access to God, through the Throne Room of God, with a direct personal relationship with God. In Old Testament times, people would come to the priests; and the priest would offer up a sacrifice on behalf of the people. The priests, and not the people, were communing directly with God. On Good Friday and at Jesus death on the cross, the “Temple Veil” was torn from top to bottom (i.e. “Temple Vail” was a large, very thick, and very heavy barrier that divided that portion of the Temple accessible by those wishing to sacrifice for prayer and the “Holy of Holies” where the only the High Priest could meet with God and pray on behalf of the people of God.). At Jesus Resurrection, no longer was an intermediary (e.g., a Priest) required for direct prayer with God by the people in Christ (i.e. Jesus Followers).  Because Jesus created a New Covenant relationship with His followers, now your prayers are in direct communion with God, the Creator of the Universe. Everyone, who is in Christ, may have access to the Throne Room of God in the name of Jesus. What a privilege this direct access to God is for those who are in Christ. The author of Hebrews, in Hebrews 4:16, tells Jesus Followers that, because of the Gospel, you have direct access to God's “throne of Grace” for your needs: “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.".   TODAY'S PRAYER: Keeping the Sabbath, Lord, will require a lot of changes in the way I am living life. Teach me, Lord, how to take the next step with this in a way that fits my unique personality and situation. Help me to trust you with all that will remain unfinished and to enjoy my humble place in your very large world. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 129). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, I affirm that because of what God has done for me in His Son, Jesus, I AM RIGHTEOUS IN GOD'S EYES. God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21 SCRIPTURE REFERENCE (ESV): Philippians 4:1-13; John 15:9-10; Revelation 4:1-2; Psalms 69c:25-36. Deborah Sharrock grew up around Christianity—but by the time she was a teenager, she hated God and wanted nothing to do with Him. Behind the scenes, her life was unraveling as she battled deep emotional pain, eating disorders, isolation, and suicidal thoughts. By age 15 she believed life wasn't worth living. Then one desperate prayer changed everything. At a youth retreat Deborah prayed, “God, if You're real… show me.” Moments later she says she was given a vision of God on His throne, surrounded by overwhelming light and holiness. In that moment she realized two things at once: God was real—and He loved her. Homily - The Throne Room Now: Judgment, Mercy, and the Work of the Liturgy

OrthoAnalytika

Play Episode Listen Later Feb 22, 2026 10:12

On the Sunday of the Last Judgment, the Gospel reveals that judgment takes place not in a courtroom, but in the throne room of God—a reality the Church enters every Sunday in the Divine Liturgy. This homily explores how worship forms repentance, trains us in mercy, and sends us into the world with lives shaped by the pattern of Christ's self-giving love. --- The Throne Room Now: Judgment, Mercy, and the Work of the Liturgy A Homily on the Sunday of the Last Judgment (Matthew 25:31–46) When we hear the Gospel of the Last Judgment, our attention is usually drawn—rightly—to the command to do good: to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the sick and the imprisoned. And the danger every year is that we hear this Gospel as if Christ were saying something like this: "Be good people during the week (ie take care of people)—and then come to church on Sunday." But that is not what the Lord is saying. In fact, the Gospel appointed for today does something far more unsettling—and far more hopeful. It places the Judgment not in a courtroom, but in the throne room of God. Christ says, "When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory." That is not legal language. It is liturgical language. The people who first heard this would have known exactly what that meant. They would have filled in the details instinctively from the Scriptures and from worship: the throne surrounded by cherubim and seraphim; the unceasing hymn of praise; even the River of Fire—not as punishment, but as the light and heat of God's own glory. And here is the first thing we must understand: We are not only told about that throne room. We are brought into it. Every Sunday, the Church does not merely remember something that will happen someday. We are brought into that reality now - as much as we can bear it. The Kingdom is revealed to us here and now, sacramentally, liturgically, truthfully. And that changes how we hear today's Gospel. First: There is a connection between doing good and coming to church Sunday is not an interruption of the Christian life. It is its measure. In a real sense, every Sunday is a little judgment—not a condemnation, but a revelation. We come into the light, and the truth about us is allowed to appear. And notice how this begins in the Divine Liturgy. It begins not with confidence, not with self-congratulation, but with repentance. The priest, standing before God as the leader and voice of the people, pleads at the very beginning: "O Lord, Lord, open unto me the door of Thy mercy." That is not theatrical humility. That is the truth. We are asking to be let in—not because we deserve it, but because without mercy we cannot even stand. And then, before the Trisagion, the priest names what God already knows about all of us: that He "despisest not the sinner but hast appointed repentance unto salvation." And so he begs Him directly: "Pardon us every transgression both voluntary and involuntary." This is what Sunday is. It is the people of God standing before the glory of His altar and asking to be healed. Asking to see clearly. Asking to be made capable of love. But repentance in the Liturgy does not remain on the lips of the clergy alone. Before Communion, the entire Church takes up the same posture and says together words that are almost shocking in their honesty: "I stand before the doors of Thy temple, and yet I refrain not from my terrible thoughts." We do not pretend that standing in church has magically fixed us. We confess that we are still conflicted, still distracted, still broken. And then, with no room left for comparison or self-justification, we each say: "Who didst come into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first." And finally, we make the plea that fits today's Gospel with frightening precision: "Not unto judgment nor unto condemnation be my partaking of Thy holy mysteries, O Lord, but unto the healing of soul and body." The Church is honest with us here. The same fire that heals can also burn, depending on whether we approach it with repentance or with presumption. This is not a threat meant to drive us away, but truth meant to help us approach rightly. That is why Sunday is a little judgment—not because God is eager to condemn, but because His throne room is opened to us now in mercy, so that we may be healed, corrected, and trained to recognize Christ when He comes to us in the least of His brethren. Second: Sunday worship is where we actually do the work Christ commands And once we see that, we can begin to understand what the Church is actually doing here -  and why worship cannot be separated from judgment. Before we ever offer bread and wine, the Church first intercedes for the world. We pray for peace from above and the salvation of our souls; for the peace of the whole world and the good estate of the holy Churches; for this city and every city and countryside; for travelers by sea, by land, and by air; for the sick, the suffering, and the captive; for deliverance from tribulation, wrath, danger, and necessity. We even pray for civil authorities—not to bless power for its own sake, but that peace and order might make room for mercy and justice. In other words, before we do anything else, we place the needs of others before God. And in addition to interceding for all of this, here—at the heart of the Divine Liturgy—the Church actually performs the works of mercy Christ names in today's Gospel. Not in theory.  Not symbolically.  But truly. Here: Strangers are welcomed and given a home. Prisoners are freed from the shackles of sin and the sentence of death. The naked are clothed with baptismal garments. The thirsty are given living water. The hungry are given the Bread of Life. This is not allegory. This is reality at its deepest level. God Himself tells us to care even more for the soul than for the body. During the week, we sacrifice ourselves to meet bodily needs—and we must grow in that work. But on Sunday, we are commanded to do the most important work of mercy: to restore people to life in Christ. That is why worship is not optional. It is not private devotion. It is the Church doing what the Church exists to do.  And because that work is real, it carries with it genuine hope. Third: Sunday gives us a foretaste of the reward The Gospel of the Last Judgment is not only a warning. It is also a promise. Those who learn to serve Christ in the least of His brethren are not merely rewarded—they are invited to rest in God, to share in His life, to participate in His rule. Saint Paul says something astonishing: "Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? … Do you not know that we shall judge angels?" (1 Corinthians 6:2–3) This does not mean we become harsh or self-righteous. It means we are being trained—here and now—for a future of responsibility, faithfulness, and love. What we do here is forming who we are becoming. Conclusion What happens in this Divine Liturgy is the automatic response of the Church—that is, of a people devoted to sacrificial love—to God's command to care for others as we care for ourselves. This is not a dead ritual. It is a powerful tool for doing essential work. It is the throne room of God revealed to us now. But it is not meant to remain here. The expectation of the Church is that the pattern of the Liturgy becomes the pattern of our life. That the repentance we practice here becomes the repentance that shapes our weeks. That the mercy we receive here becomes the mercy we extend beyond these walls. That the intercessions we make here train us to notice, remember, and bear the burdens of others when we leave. That is why the Liturgy does not end with applause or reflection, but with a command: "Let us go forth in peace." We are sent out not having finished our work, but having been formed for it. And when the Son of Man comes in His glory, He will recognize those whose lives have taken on the shape of His worship— those who learned, here, how to repent, how to intercede, and how to love.

Welcome to Day 2793 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2793 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 110:1-7 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2793 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day two thousand seven hundred ninety-three of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Priest-King of the Cosmos – The Coronation of the Ultimate Human. Today, we arrive at what might be the most significant mountain peak in the entire Old Testament. We are standing at the base of Psalm One Hundred Ten, and we will be trekking through the entire psalm, verses one through seven, in the New Living Translation. In our previous journey through Psalm One Hundred Nine, we stood in a courtroom. We saw David as a defendant, surrounded by accusers. We saw him destitute, weak, and pleading for help. That psalm ended with a vision of God standing at the "right hand" of the poor to save him. But today, the scene shifts dramatically. The courtroom is gone. The weakness is gone. Psalm One Hundred Ten opens the door to the Throne Room of the Universe. We are no longer looking at a needy human King David; we are looking at a Divine figure who is invited to sit at the right hand of Yahweh Himself. This short psalm—only seven verses long—is the most frequently quoted Old Testament chapter in the New Testament. Jesus quoted it to stump the Pharisees. Peter quoted it on the Day of Pentecost. The author of Hebrews built his entire theology of the priesthood around it. Why? Because this psalm unveils the mystery of the Messiah. It reveals a figure who is both a conquering King and an eternal Priest—a combination that was legally impossible under the Law of Moses. It gives us a glimpse into the Divine Council, where the Father invites the Son to rule over the chaos of the nations. So, take off your sandals, for we are standing on holy ground. Let us listen to the conversation between the Father and the Son. The first segment is: The Oracle of the Throne: The Two Powers in Heaven. Psalm One Hundred Ten: verse one. The Lord said to my Lord, "Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet." The psalm begins with an explosion of theological depth. "The Lord said to my Lord..." In the Hebrew text, this reads: "The oracle of Yahweh to my Adonai." David, the King of Israel, is writing this. He is the highest human authority in the land. Yet, he is eavesdropping on a conversation in the heavenly realm. He hears Yahweh (God the Father) speaking to someone David calls "my Lord" (Adoni). Who could possibly be David's Lord? David had no human superior. This is the question Jesus asked the Pharisees in Matthew Twenty-two. If the Messiah is merely David's son (a human descendant), why does David call Him "Lord"? The answer lies in the Divine Council worldview. David is seeing a figure who is...

The photographs of Ghislaine Maxwell seated on the Queen of England's throne were taken inside the Throne Room at Buckingham Palace during a private visit in the early 2000s. In the images, Maxwell is shown casually perched on the historic coronation chair, smiling and appearing at ease—an extraordinary visual given the room's strict symbolism and limited access. The throne is traditionally reserved for formal state occasions involving the monarch, making the images striking not just for their informality, but for what they signal about the level of access Maxwell enjoyed within Britain's most exclusive royal spaces. The photos later became emblematic of how deeply Maxwell—and by extension Jeffrey Epstein—had penetrated elite social circles long before their crimes were fully exposed. Once public, the images fueled widespread outrage and disbelief, reinforcing perceptions that Maxwell moved freely among powerful institutions with little scrutiny. The fact that a future convicted sex trafficker could sit on the throne associated with Queen Elizabeth II became a visual shorthand for institutional blind spots, privilege, and the failure of gatekeeping at the highest levels. In retrospect, the photographs are less about royal protocol and more about how proximity to power helped normalize and shield figures who were, even then, operating in deeply predatory ways.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

Revelation 4The Throne in Heaven[1] After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” [2] At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. [3] And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. [4] Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. [5] From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God, [6] and before the throne there was as it were a sea of glass, like crystal. And around the throne, on each side of the throne, are four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind: [7] the first living creature like a lion, the second living creature like an ox, the third living creature with the face of a man, and the fourth living creature like an eagle in flight. [8] And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say,“Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”[9] And whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, [10] the twenty-four elders fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever. They cast their crowns before the throne, saying,[11] “Worthy are you, our Lord and God,to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.” (ESV)

Day 2762 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 103:19-22 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2762 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day 2762 of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The Titel for today's Wisdom-Trek is: The Cosmic Choir – Joining the Angels in the Throne Room. Today, we reach the magnificent summit of our journey through Psalm One Hundred Three. We are standing on the highest peak, looking out over not just the earth, but the entire cosmos. We are covering the final stanza, verses nineteen through twenty-two, in the New Living Translation. In our previous treks through this masterpiece of King David, we started deep inside the human heart. In the first section, David commanded his own soul to "Bless the Lord" for His personal benefits—forgiveness, healing, and redemption from the Pit. Then, in the middle section, we looked at the character of God. We saw Him as a compassionate Father who remembers that we are dust. We measured His love and found it to be as high as the heavens, and we saw His mercy removing our sins as far as the east is from the west. We contrasted our fleeting, flower-like existence with His eternal, unchangeable Covenant Love. Now, in this concluding section, the camera pulls back. We zoom out from the individual soul, past the community of Israel, past the earth itself, and into the Heavenly Throne Room. David realizes that his little voice of praise is not singing a solo. He discovers that he is actually joining a massive, thunderous, cosmic symphony that has been playing since the dawn of time. He invites the heavyweights of the spiritual world—the Divine Council, the mighty angels, and the armies of heaven—to join him in blessing Yahweh. This is the ultimate perspective shift. We are not just dust worshiping in the desert; we are fellow choristers with the Archangels. So, let us tune our hearts to the frequency of heaven and finish this song with a shout that shakes the stars. The first segment is: The Fixed Point in a Spinning Universe. Psalm One Hundred Three: verse nineteen. The Lord has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything. Before David issues his final call to worship, he establishes the location and the authority of the One being worshiped. "The Lord has made the heavens his throne..." In the previous section, we talked about how man is like grass—here today, blown away by the wind tomorrow. We talked about how the earth itself wears out like an old garment (Psalm One Hundred Two). In a universe defined by change, entropy, and decay, we desperately need a Fixed Point. David tells us: The Throne is established. The Hebrew word kun (established or made firm) implies that it is unshakeable. God hasn't just set up a folding chair in the clouds; He has established a permanent seat of governance. And where is this throne? In "the heavens." Now, we need to put on our Ancient Israelite worldview lenses here. When the Bible speaks of "the heavens" in this context, it isn't just...

What if one of the most dangerous spiritual forces operating in our culture is about to be confronted, shaken, and brought down? In this urgent prophetic word, Ryan Johnson reveals what the Lord showed him about exposing and overcoming a taunting spirit — a mocking, intimidating force that has pushed believers into discouragement, retreat, or silence. But God is declaring that its influence ends NOW. This is a moment of divine exposure… a moment when the spirit will lose its grip, and the people of God will rise with renewed boldness and clarity.Across culture, media, government, and digital platforms, this mocking spirit has attempted to challenge God's purposes. Yet 2026 will function as a prophetic “David's Roar” season — a time when the Lord commissions His people to confront Goliaths with supernatural confidence. This message unpacks Ryan's prophetic word for 2026, exploring insights and parallels from scripture, and the deeper Hebrew significance behind the number 26 – all revealing and reinforcing what God is saying for the coming year. You'll discover how the taunting Goliath spirit has targeted identity, authority, and endurance. You'll also learn why the Throne Room teaching (identity, empowerment, formation) must be paired with the Battlefield revelation (activation, confrontation, victory) in this next season. When these realms come into alignment, believers step into prophetic activation, prophetic alignment, and a fresh mantle to confront Goliaths, break intimidation, and advance with Kingdom authority.

Egypt purchased state of the art weaponry from the Soviet Union that obliterated any balance of power between Israel and her Arab adversaries. Egypt would have the armament, it already had the desire, to wipe out Israel. Israel naturally turned to its trusted ally, the United States, but the days of Harry Truman were over. The new President, Dwight Eisenhower, together with his State Department which has traditionally been slanted against Israel, saw wisdom in aligning with the far more numerous Arabs. Israel desperately needed a friend that manufactured weapons, and that ally turned out to be France.  France's primary motivation was the principle that the enemy of your enemy is your friend. FLN freedom fighters in Algeria were seeking freedom from France and they were armed and trained by Egypt.  When Nasser nationalizes the Suez Canal and expels western managers, Britain and France know that they must act and their unlikely partner is Israel.  Credits: Trailer Music Empire, String of Fire Epic History, Suez Crises Happy Coffee House, Paris Cafe Ambience with French Music for a Good Mood  Sammy Burdson Timpani Roll Soundrise Music Ticking Tension  Jedi Orchestra plays The Throne Room conducted by Andrzej Kucybała One For Israel "DAVID DANCED"  Learn more at TellerFromJerusalem.com Don't forget to subscribe, like and share! This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom Day 2743 – Wisdom Nuggets – Psalm 95:1-11 – Daily Wisdom Wisdom-Trek Podcast Script - Day 2743 Welcome to Wisdom-Trek with Gramps! I am Guthrie Chamberlain, and we are on Day two thousand seven hundred forty-three of our Trek. The Purpose of Wisdom-Trek is to create a legacy of wisdom, to seek out discernment and insights, and to boldly grow where few have chosen to grow before. The title of today's Wisdom-Trek is: The King, The Shepherd, and The Warning – A Trek Through Psalm 95:1-11 Today, we are lacing up our boots to climb a new peak in the Psalter: Psalm Ninety-five. We will cover the entire psalm, verses one through eleven, in the New Living Translation. In our previous trek through Psalm Ninety-four, we stood in the courtroom of the cosmos. We saw God as the Judge of the Earth and the God of Vengeance, dismantling the "throne of destruction" and promising to wipe out the wicked who oppress the innocent. It was a psalm of justice, a cry for the legal intervention of Heaven. Psalm Ninety-five shifts the scene dramatically. We move from the courtroom to the Throne Room, and then to the Wilderness. This psalm serves as the grand entrance hymn to the collection of Royal Psalms that celebrate Yahweh's Kingship. It is a psalm of invitation—an invitation to shout, to bow, and, crucially, to listen. It is structured in two distinct movements: a jubilant call to worship the Supreme King, and a somber, prophetic warning from that same King. It teaches us that true worship is not just about loud songs; it is about a soft heart. So, let us heed the call and approach the Rock of our Salvation. The first segment is: The Call to Cosmic Worship: The King Above All Gods Psalm Ninety-five: verses one through five Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.  Let us come to him with thanksgiving. Let us sing psalms of praise to him.  For the Lord is a great God, a great King above all gods.  He holds in his hands the depths of the earth and the mightiest mountains.  The sea belongs to him, for he made it. His hands formed the dry land. The psalmist begins with an imperative, a command to the congregation that bursts with energy: "Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation." We saw in Psalm Ninety-four that God is our "fortress" and "mighty rock" of refuge against the wicked. Now, in response to that protection, the only appropriate reaction is volume. The phrase "shout joyfully" (rûa‘) is the same word used for a war cry or the blast of a trumpet hailing a monarch. We are not mumbling prayers in a corner; we are hailing the Victor. We approach His presence with "thanksgiving" (tôdâ), bringing an offering of gratitude before we even ask for a thing. But why is this enthusiasm required? Verse
