If yes, KINCast is a great way to get an idea of what careers Kinesiology has to offer. The host of KINCast is Michael Herbert. He is a Lab Instructor and Lecturer in the School of Kinesiology at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada and an independant contractor specializing in office ergonomics and occupational/health assessments. During the episodes, he sits down with a variety of individuals who are involved in the field of Kinesiology and discusses their background and career path. These episodes are primarily targeting Western University Kinesiology Students, however, no matter where you're coming from, you may find some episodes entertaining, if not informative!

This episode features Dr. Al Salmoni, a now retired professor, researcher and administrator from Laurentian (my alma mater!) and Western Universities. He spear headed the new Kin mentorship program. One thing I learned throughout our conversation, is that he cared for the health and well being of his students, immensely!
Rob Caryn is a former Western Alum. He teaches in the Advanced Ergonomics program at Fanshawe College, works as part of a medical rehab team performing gait analyses, he was an instructor in the School of Kinesiology and most importantly... he is a fellow Foo Fighters fan!
At the time of this recording, Dr. Marc Mitchell was a new professor in the School of Kinesiology. He is responsible for developping the Clinical Kinesiology module at Western. He has a PhD., post-doctoral experience, he's played football in the CFL and he helped develop an app called "Carrot".
At the time of this recording, Michelle was a PhD student in the Exercise Biochemistry lab at Western. She has since completed her dissertation defence and is on her way to bigger and better things! Michelle and I discuss her research, her path into research, her background and what her future plans are. Michelle freely admits that her undergrad background wasn't very focused in chemistry. However, after speaking with Michelle, it was clear that her drive and determination helped her tremendously throughout her PhD.
Jenn Plaskett is a Western Kin alum, former Head Coach of the Western Women's Field Hockey Team and is currently working as the Graduate Program Coordinator. Stephanie Paplinskie a pre natal and post partum fitness specialist who specializes in resistance training during and after pregnancy. She teaches part-time at Western University and Fanshawe College, while pursuing a PhD in the Exercise and Pregnancy Lab at Western University under world-renowned pregnancy researcher Dr. Michelle Mottola.
Dr. Lemon is a professor in the School of Kinesiology specializing in Sport Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. He is also the Head Coach of the Western Mustangs Softball team.
