My name is Randy Kindig and I'm your host for this audio and video tribute to vintage computers and computer history. For those of you listening to these podcasts in order, this month's episode is the second part of the 2-part series on the Sphere, which was introduced in 1975; the same year as the Altair and even before the Apple 1. Once again, I want to reiterate what the Sphere was and why do we care? The Sphere was the first "personal computer," defined as such by Byte Magazine due to its consumer focus and built-in keyboard and monitor. Many computers can claim the moniker of first "personal computer", and rightly so, but this one has the endorsement of an early, well-respected, long-running computer magazine and they have good reason for feeling this way about the Sphere. Once you hear the details, you'll see just how ground-breaking this machine was at a very early period of computer history. Not only that, some of the personal stories behind the machine are simply downright fascinating. Ben Zotto is the undisputed expert on the Sphere in these times, after finding an abandoned machine sitting on the sidewalk and deciding to adopt it and learn more about it. He recently wrote a comprehensive book on the Sphere called "Go Computer Now!" that Ben and I spent a lot of time talking about in the last episode -- which again was the first episode on the Sphere. This episode series actually serves two purposes: first as an interview with Ben to learn more about him and his book, and secondly as an overview of a computer I didn't cover back when I started this podcast back in 2013 with the Altair 8800 and the Apple 1. So, as I said earlier, this will be the second part of a 2-part journey on the Sphere. Last month we talked in great detail with Ben Zotto about how he ended up going down the Sphere rabbit hole and all the great things he's done to promote an important machine that was forgotten in the annals of history. This month, Ben and I go through all the usual topics about the Sphere: history, tech specs, using the machine, current Web sites and a great deal more. I really hope you enjoy hearing more about the Sphere and all the things that Ben has done to fill in the gap in history that used to be occupied by the Sphere! Private events may be the most overlooked revenue stream in hospitality. In Episode 222 of On The Delo, Delo sits down with Samia Kohler, Founder of Event Sphere Solutions and creator of SPHERE, to explore how restaurants, bars, hotels, wineries, breweries, and event venues can unlock significant revenue through smarter private event sales. From 18 years in hospitality across France, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and now Phoenix, Samia breaks down how the right system can turn any space with four walls, food, and beverage into a revenue machine. This conversation goes deep on the difference between chasing tables and building an experience, why so many restaurants leave event revenue on the table, and how Samia built her own software after finding no CRM truly made for hospitality. She shares how her clients have seen a 189% increase in event sales, how the platform buys back 20+ hours a week, and how she built AI directly into the system so even a busy GM can capture leads around the clock without losing the human touch. Pro wrestler Dani Mo returns to the Wrestling Mayhem Show studio with Sorg and Mad Mike for a conversation about stepping away from wrestling, returning with a renewed perspective and embracing every strange opportunity the business provides. Dani takes the crew aboard her cross-country family adventure by train, traveling from Pittsburgh through Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco and beyond. She talks about first-class Amtrak accommodations, observation cars, full meals, sightseeing, hiking through Yosemite, camping on the way to Las Vegas and seeing No Doubt at the Sphere. More importantly, Dani explains why disconnecting from wrestling—even briefly—helped her decompress and appreciate the experiences waiting outside the ring. Back in wrestling, Dani discusses her acclaimed match with a visiting STARDOM competitor at Enjoy Wrestling, her desire to wrestle in Japan and the opportunities she has received to work with international talent. She also breaks down her unpredictable run in Juggalo Championship Wrestling, where she is expanding her character work, delivering longer promos, destroying cars, confronting Barnabas and navigating one of wrestling's wildest fictional family dramas as a two-time JCW Women's Champion. Mad Mike reports from Madison Square Garden, including the energy surrounding CM Punk, the New York Knicks-themed celebration and a WWE show that sometimes felt like a televised house show built specifically for the local audience. The crew also discusses SummerSlam possibilities, Sami Zayn's direction, Nick Aldis returning to the ring and the unseen wrestlers whose scheduled matches disappear whenever an authority figure creates a new main event. The episode also features the first match announcement for Sorgstock, memories from Beastman's Big Ass Birthday Bash, thoughts on WWE Unreal, questions about the value of Club WWE, AEW and STARDOM crossover, the G1 Climax and a spirited debate about roller coasters, wrestling-ring pools and the value of letting wrestling be fun. News Stories and Topics Discussed Mad Mike's Madison Square Garden experience: Mad Mike compares the reactions for CM Punk and the New York Knicks celebration while describing the unusual atmosphere of a WWE television show created heavily around its host city. CM Punk's latest major moment: The crew discusses Punk's return, championship victory and the difference between hearing a massive wrestling reaction on television and experiencing it inside the arena. New York Knicks crossover: The hosts examine the Knicks references, celebrity involvement and why parts of the show were especially rewarding for local basketball fans. WWE women's tag-team speculation: The group considers whether the current champions are temporary and whether WWE could be building toward a SummerSlam program involving the Bella Twins. What happens next for Sami Zayn: Mad Mike questions Sami's current direction and whether he could be added to another major match rather than being left without a clear SummerSlam story. Nick Aldis returning to competition: The hosts discuss Aldis moving from an authority role back into the ring, his extensive pre-WWE career and the importance of presenting him as a legitimate wrestler rather than merely an on-screen general manager. “Card Subject to Change”: A joke about wrestlers being removed from suddenly rearranged television cards evolves into a pitch for a comedy series focused on the performers who thought they had a match before the main event was rewritten. Mad Mike conquers the Royal Rumble arcade game: The crew revisits the game's classic roster and attempts to guess which wrestler Mad Mike used to win. The answer leads to an enthusiastic appreciation of D'Lo Brown. Dani Mo's cross-country train adventure: Dani describes traveling with her family in first-class Amtrak accommodations, sleeping in compact rooms, visiting the observation car and experiencing freshly prepared meals during the journey. Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco: The trip includes the Bean, Seattle's Space Needle and gum wall, the redwoods, Alcatraz, Lombard Street, the Golden Gate Bridge and several of Dani's signature travel handstands. Disconnecting from wrestling: Dani explains how the trip allowed her to stop checking messages, ignore most wrestling responsibilities and return feeling more relaxed—even when several planned bookings were unexpectedly canceled. Yosemite and dispersed camping: After leaving her family in San Francisco, Dani continues the adventure with a friend, tackles the difficult Mist Trail, earns a fire permit and camps while traveling toward Las Vegas. No Doubt at the Sphere: Dani talks about seeing Gwen Stefani up close, buying an impressive amount of merchandise and finally reaching the concert that served as the trip's destination. Why travel matters: The group reflects on how seeing different regions, cultures and lifestyles can change a person's perspective, even without leaving the United States. Enjoy Wrestling and international competition: Dani looks back on her standout match with a visiting STARDOM wrestler and explains why she believes her recent performances against Japanese talent show that she is ready for an opportunity in Japan. Dani Mo's JCW evolution: Dani discusses developing a more aggressive and three-dimensional character, improving her extended promo work and becoming comfortable performing inside JCW's deliberately chaotic environment. The Barnabas family saga: Dani explains the “daddy issues” driving her JCW storyline, including Barnabas, an adopted rival, implied drug jokes, a damaged car and increasingly personal confrontations. Two-time JCW Women's Champion: Dani discusses working as champion while balancing recognizable babyface qualities with increasingly diabolical actions. Learning through promos: Because much of Dani's recent JCW work has involved storytelling rather than traditional matches, she is gaining experience in an area she considers challenging but necessary for reaching a larger stage. Sorgstock's first match announcement: Sorg officially announces Beastman vs. Gory in “The Big Bite-Off” for the No Limits Championship, reviving a match that could not happen during the previous special event. The Sorgstock atmosphere: The crew previews an unconventional party-style wrestling event featuring strange concepts, visual gags, music and an intentionally loose approach to wrestling canon. Beastman's Big Ass Birthday Bash: Dani and Sorg revisit the themed decorations, fan activities, family involvement, weapons, cake and overall madness surrounding Beastman's 40th birthday celebration. Wrestling shows built around individuals: Beastman's birthday event, Jack Pollock's benefit and other personality-driven cards inspire a discussion about shows that celebrate a specific wrestler's identity and creative vision. Alternate versions of wrestling cards: Dani reveals that several wrestlers arrived at Beastman's show expecting completely different stipulations, including a possible pillow fight and a thumbtack-and-door match. Inflatable wrestling-ring products: An online advertisement for a wrestling-themed pool sends the hosts into a search for inflatable rings and possible future Sorgstock accessories. Kennywood and roller-coaster bravery: Dani responds to allegations that she bullied Derek Dillinger into riding Phantom's Revenge, leading to comparisons of Kennywood attractions and other intense coasters around the country. AEW and STARDOM crossover: The hosts discuss Triangle of Madness, STARDOM championships and the potential for more interaction between AEW's women's division and Japanese wrestling. G1 Climax viewing: Sorg shares his early enthusiasm for the tournament and Konosuke Takeshita while the crew repeatedly finds new ways to make the tournament's name sound inappropriate. WWE Unreal: Mad Mike discusses the behind-the-scenes series, including CM Punk quietly telling John Cena that he would miss him and Cena explaining the creative logic behind his deliberately frustrating WrestleMania performance. John Cena and AJ Styles: The crew examines their tribute-filled match, the decision to use other wrestlers' signature moves and backstage footage of Seth Rollins jokingly confronting them after they produced a difficult act to follow. A crowded wrestling calendar: The group discusses competing events in Chicago, WWE's plans surrounding WrestleMania week, possible New York events and how promotions may fill the space created by WrestleMania taking place outside the United States. Club WWE: Sorg attempts to understand the subscription's value, including exclusive merchandise, ticket access, workout content, personality-driven programs and John Cena's “Unseen 17” concept. Wrestling and major-league merchandise: The hosts consider how WWE's relationship with Fanatics may make city-specific sports collaborations easier than similar partnerships for other wrestling companies. “What We Learned” Segment Breakdown Mad Mike Mad Mike's lesson comes from watching WWE Unreal. During CM Punk's “Doctor of Punkanomics” segment with John Cena, Punk quietly told Cena, “I'm gonna miss you.” It was an emotional detail that was easy to miss during the original broadcast. That revelation leads to a broader discussion about Cena's creative intentions during his final run. Mad Mike notes that Cena's explanation of the WrestleMania match closely matched the show's earlier interpretation: the slow, frustrating and intentionally boring presentation was designed to make the audience reject that version of Cena. Dani Mo Dani says the week reestablished how fun and incredible wrestling can be. Wrestling creates opportunities to travel, meet unusual people and share memorable experiences with friends, family and people who may have only met that day. Her central lesson is that performers can become so serious about wrestling that they fail to appreciate the moment. Beastman's birthday show may not have been the largest event she has worked, but dancing with her family, watching her niece become involved and enjoying the atmosphere made it one of the most fun. Sorg Sorg initially learns that he still does not fully understand what Club WWE is offering subscribers. His more meaningful lesson comes from Beastman's birthday show and other wrestler-centered events. Sorg appreciates cards that allow one person's personality, community and creative definition of wrestling to shape the entire presentation. The conclusion: wrestling needs more “non-canon” shows—events where promotions and performers can temporarily escape normal story structures, celebrate people and try concepts that would not fit on a traditional card. Chat Room and Additional Takeaways The chat highlights the increasingly crowded wrestling calendar and the unusual “battle lines” created when several promotions schedule destination events in the same city or on the same weekend. The closing conversation reinforces that the wrestling world is large enough to contain serious competition, personal celebrations, bizarre comedy, international crossover and experiences that exist simply because they are fun.
John Sadler's coming up 72 next birthday and can look back on a fascinating career. He's possibly more content currently than he's ever been, working a team of just thirty horses at the widely lauded Pakenham training centre. Half the team are pre-trainers for good friends, the other half racehorses owned by valued clients old and new. It hasn't been all beer and skittles for the Terang born trainer with recurring bouts of depression and one unfortunate run in with a senior steward during the infamous Aquanita Racing scandal that came to light in 2017. That misdemeanour cost John six weeks on the sidelines. You'll hear his side of the story on the upcoming podcast. John begins by acknowledging the merits of the state of the art Pakenham training precinct. He talks about his team of thirty horses and the pre-training support given him by fellow trainers. The veteran horseman talks of life on the farm at Terang in the 1950's. John talks of Terang's history in both thoroughbred and harness racing. He pays tribute to his remarkable parents Lindsay and Mary. His father died in 1993 at 95 years of age. His mother stayed around for much longer. John remembers friendships formed in schooldays that would introduce him to the racing game. He talks of the modest start he made as a trainer on the small property he'd purchased at Colac. John reflects on his very first win as a trainer and the unforgettable thrill of his maiden metropolitan win. You'll enjoy the trainer's reminiscences about the ageless Pressman's Choice and the betting plunge he landed with the horse in the 1991 Hamilton Cup. Few knew what dire financial straits he was in at the time. John fondly remembers his very first Gr 1 win with Jolly Old Mac. The trainer acknowledges the talents of Kenvain and Lady Jakeo, a star two year old filly of the early 90's. He hasn't forgotten the surprise phone call from jockey Greg Hall which led to an exciting overseas training stint. On returning to Melbourne after his 4 year Dubai experience, John received an unexpected offer from leviathan owner Lloyd Williams. He became private trainer for Williams from Flemington to begin with, and later from the owners' lavish Macedon Lodge training operation. John has one small regret about the Macedon Lodge experience revolving around Melbourne Cup winner Efficient. When his arrangement with Macedon Lodge ran its course, John opted to team up with young trainer Troy Corstens at Flemington under the Malua Racing banner. The four year partnership was both successful and harmonious. John relates the amazing story of a new Swedish owner and the acquisition of Linton, a horse he knew well from the Macedon Lodge days. A Gr 1 success would follow. He was more than happy to talk about his recurring battles with depression. He was able to bounce back from several low periods. Today, with the right advice and continued treatment he's on top of the problem. John looks back on the infamous Aquanita Racing scandal which resulted in multiple disqualifications. His horses were stabled in the same barn which would later bring him unwanted “fall-out”. It all came to a head when a senior steward scratched one of John's horses from a Gr 3 race. His subsequent outburst resulted in a six week suspension. He talks of two marriages and seven children, two of whom are heavily involved in racing- Tom as a jockey and trainer, Edward as race caller and TV presenter. We conclude the podcast by pressuring John to nominate a horse or two from his current team likely to visit the winner's circle in the near future. He suggests two mares who are already multiple winners, but far from finished yet. An enjoyable chat with one of Victoria's most respected horsemen. John Sadler tells it as it is.

Would you choose one of the least expensive vehicles in the country for a road trip to Las Vegas? Host Jack Nerad did just that, taking the $25,000 small SUV on a 600-mile out-and-back in weather topping 100 degrees. What — is he nuts? Meanwhile, Co-Host Chris Teague gave himself a more reasonable assignment, reviewing the off-road-ready 2026 Subaru Outback Wilderness. Jack and Chris also discuss Europe's new mandatory driver-monitoring systems, progress on solid-state batteries, and Tesla's new (longer) three-row Model Y. Labor strife also hits the news in the form of Hyundai worker strikes and Volkswagen's restructuring setback. Plus, Britain's Goodwood car festival announces an American version.

In this episode of Cannabis Unlocked, Jordan Youkilis sits down with Seth Schorr, CEO of Fifth Street Gaming. They discussed the growing overlap between the casino and cannabis industries and why Las Vegas may be uniquely positioned to bring the two together.Seth has run Fifth Street Gaming in Las Vegas for nearly 20 years and brings a veteran operator's perspective on how the city's gambling industry keeps reinventing itself, from a shift toward full resort experiences in the late '90s to the rise of mobile sports betting after PASPA's repeal, and the constant churn of disruptors, from DraftKings and FanDuel to today's prediction markets. As a Nevada gaming licensee, Seth can't be directly involved in cannabis, but he offers a candid outside view: Nevada's early, high-performing market , rising interest from alcohol and tavern operators in hemp beverages, and his own work helping regulators and operators explore bringing cannabis consumption on-premise at casinos, an idea still tangled up in federal restrictions but gaining real momentum. They close by looking ahead to Las Vegas's next chapter: an incoming MLB team, a potential NBA expansion team, and why The Sphere remains the city's biggest innovation in a decade.Enjoy!
What happens when you put a Sphere of Annihilation inside a Bag of Holding? In this episode of FGGGbT, the Brain Trust — Daniel J. Glenn, Dr. Michael Dennin, and Ben Sieper — go deep on magical item combos, the science of extradimensional space, the world's most powerful glue, potion mixology, and the surprisingly complex question of when a sword becomes a person. We kick things off with the Bag of Holding — how its constant weight hints at real theories of gravity and extra dimensions — before combining it with the Sphere of Annihilation (a dense ball of antimatter in a magical containment field) and exploring the three probabilistic outcomes, including a spontaneous rip in space-time that sends your party to a random time period. Then we tackle Sovereign Glue, why no substance in our world truly sticks to everything, and the hilariously impractical physics of storing oil of slipperiness in a bottle. We also dive into potion mixology — why mixing potions in your body is random (your gut biome matters), what quantum wave interference has to do with making a potion permanent, and why you should always read the label before chugging two potions at once. Finally, we explore sentient magical items: Black Razor, Night Blood, and the Professor Orb — and debate whether these items contain trapped souls, emergent AI, or something else entirely.

In this special collaborative episode of Restorative Works and The Teacher's Sphere Podcast, hosts Dr. Claire de Mezerville Lopez, Dr. Kobi Nelson, and Sarah Lane explore how educators can cultivate stronger school communities through civil discourse, restorative practices, and meaningful dialogue. Our hosts invite us to examine the role teacher leaders play in fostering civil discourse among colleagues, emphasizing the importance of listening, intellectual humility, and curiosity. Explore how teachers, administrators, families, and staff can move beyond adversarial thinking and focus on shared goals that support student success. We dive into cognitive biases and their impact on decision-making, relationships, and school culture. Our hosts examine how self-awareness, restorative practices-rooted dialogue, and intentional engagement with diverse perspectives can help educators recognize and navigate these biases more effectively. She hosts Sphere's podcast, The Teacher's Sphere, and creates curricular resources in collaboration with K-12 teachers and content scholars. Just like David, when we listen and follow His voice, victory is already being prepared ahead of us. No matter how stubborn the battle looks, stay rooted, stay faithful, and keep standing. God is the Lord of your breakthrough, and that includes your family, your children, and every situation. Trust Him… He knows exactly how to reach every heart and bring freedom, healing, and restoration.
Send us Fan MailWe sit down with travel expert Angie Orth, host of Traveling with AAA and founder of AngieAway.com, to talk about the kind of travel that feels vivid and real: big bucket list wins, smart planning, and what to do when the “easy route” disappears overnight. Angie takes us from a Maldives liveaboard dive retreat with whale sharks and tiger sharks to the moment war-related airspace closures strand travelers and force a costly, creative path home. Along the way, we dig into practical travel advice that actually matters, like staying flexible, knowing alternate flight routes, and budgeting for disruption so you can make decisions fast instead of panicking. We also swap destination stories and grounded tips: Bahamas island hopping in Exuma with wildlife you would not expect, Egypt travel and why a guide can make culture shock feel like discovery, and a quick-hit Las Vegas trip built around the Sphere and great food. Plus, there is Costa Rica dental tourism, a brutal bullet ant bite, a Natchez Trace Parkway road trip warning about national park speeding tickets, Finger Lakes wine on a budget, Kauai hiking reality checks, and an Alaska finale featuring northern lights and grizzlies. **Angie Orth describes herself as a tour guide for global shenanigans, worldwide wanderlust, and misadventures near and far. Bill Maher welcomes country music superstar Kenny Chesney to Club Random for a conversation that starts with sold-out stadiums and ends somewhere much deeper. Kenny reflects on his ""hillbilly rock star"" glory days, why he's never canceled a show in nearly three decades, and the bus-ride epiphany that convinced him to stop drinking before performances. He also pulls back the curtain on creating the visuals for his record-breaking Sphere residency. Kenny gushes over Religulous, while Bill tells stories about Larry Flynt's gold wheelchair and Bill Clinton's legendary charm. Then one simple question about legacy cracks the whole conversation wide open: what happens to everything you've built when you don't have kids?
