Saint Saens Symphony #3 is nicknamed the "Organ Symphony" because of the significant use of the organ in the piece. Saint Saens was an accomplished Organist, thus the especial use of the instrument.

In today's program, we will hear CAMILLE SAINT SAENS CONCERTO FOR CELLO #1, and other cello pieces including THE SWAN.

 SAINT SAENS composed three concertos for violin and orchestra, as well as two other orchestral pieces for the violin. In today's program, we would listen to the violinist JOSHUA BELL in the Violin Concerto #3
