Philip's attentiveness and obedience to the Spirit led him into incredible opportunities to fullfill his calling to reflect the Glory of God.
No matter what other people call us or even what we think of ourselves God loves us and sent Jesus to die for us.
Repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away (redeemed), in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord. Acts 3:19
For many, Easter is nothing more than an excuse to snack on mini-eggs, take an extra day or two off work, and enjoy a well-earned opportunity to sleep in. But ignoring the real reason for the Easter celebration doesn’t change the truth. There is a God, He does love us, He did send Jesus to die in our place, Jesus did rise from the dead, and these facts can and should change our lives forever! We need to shake off the spiritual lethargy that is so common in the world around us and wake up – it’s Easter morning!
From coronation to crucifixion, from death to life
God’s Word is true – there is a Heaven and there is only one way to get there. Jesus told us that He is the only Way, the embodiment of transforming Truth, and the Source of eternal Life (John 14:1-6).
While some would advise us to “live today like there’s no tomorrow”, the Bible tells us that there is a tomorrow and that it could come today! Live every day like Jesus could return at any moment.
By looking at Luke 24:36-53, we see that the Ascension gives believers a: (1) trust in His Word, (2) the promise of the Holy Spirit, and (3) the guarantee for gifts from above.
Jesus gave us an example of how to pray in The Lord's Prayer. Not to pray the prayer itself but to use it as a template for talking with God.
Our sin-nature makes us an easy target for submission to culture. We are called to be "in" the world (we shouldn't cluster in "holy huddles") but not "of" the world (we are subject to an authority and lifestyle beyond the scope of culture).
By New Testament standards, anger can be either good or bad, depending on motive and purpose. When angry, we must consider whether our anger is justified. The Bible gives us strong warnings against sinful anger; however, it does advocate feelings of righteous indignation towards injustice, immorality, and ungodliness. When such anger is unselfish and based on love for God and others, it not only is permissible but commanded. Jesus expressed this righteous anger in
Jesus said, "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"
If want a life of overflow we need to trust God enough to give Him His due as regular reminder that God owns it all and He alone is our source.
The more we get to know our generous God the more we become like Him. We soon discover the secret to a full life is about outflow more than inflow, giving more than getting.
The secret to happiness is pursuing God and His will for your life. We can overcome distorted thinking and covetousness by learning how to love and give like God
No matter who you are God loves you and can use you. Don't do God a favour by telling Him your not worthy.
God loves the world so much that He sent His own Son at great cost as a missionary to planet earth. He now asks us, as He did Jonah, to take His message of hope to our world. Either we become fishers of men and start fishing or we risk becoming fish bait!
When our lives our consistent with our faith, God will be glorified.
When we take a stand for God we never stand alone. Whether we stand with our friends or we think we're by ourselves, Jesus is standing right beside us.
In a seemingly impossible situation Esther found the courage to boldly stand before the King and beg for her people's safety to fulfill God's sovereign plan. Her appointment to royalty was no coincidence but the work of God to protect and preserve His people. It remains as an example to us on how to respond to the challenges we face in our lives today.
We often lose focus and direction spiritually, causing us to hurt ourselves and those around us. Such a tendency is the spiritual struggle (Romans 7) we cannot escape. Thankfully, God's grace expressed completely and only in the death and resurrection of Jesus, can rescue us from this struggle.
Jesus has commanded us to uphold all righteousness (to be the salt of the earth) and to lead people to the hope of the Gospel (to be light of the world). The questions remains, how do we accomplish what Jesus has asked? By looking at the story of Elijah and his response to Israel’s moral decay, we are able to find three major principles which will help us understand our role as the Salt and Light of God
God is building His dwelling place, the Church, and we get to partner in the process. It involves everything we are and everything we have - all of which begins with Him and ultimately ends in Him.

Having a heart after God means that we are open to confrontation, quick to restore relationships through confession, and determined to avoid further sin through humble contrition.

In order for us to rule with Christ, we need to devote our heart to Him by worshipping Him, testifying to others, and calling on Him, especially when we are going through difficulties.

Friendship is a God given gift to humanity to teach us ho to love. As Christians, we must aspire to model Jesus in our friendships; however, with that being said, we must also be wise in choosing good friends.
David was able to defeat the giant challenges in his life by trusting in God’s power, not his own. He shows us how to have a heart for God, face our fears, do what we can do, but also make room for God to do more
God has given us the power to overcome the temptation to commit adultery, but we must set our minds on the things above as we guard our eyes, minds and hearts.
What we say, matters. How we "use" God's name matters even more. Understanding the reason for reverence is key to understanding the Third Commandment.
We serve a jealous God who desires our service, worship, and time. This is outlined in the second Commandment and is part of our covenant relationship with God.
The Ten Commandments are often viewed as a list of “don’ts” and applied in a legalistic way. The truth is, they are the vows of a loving covenant relationship between God and His people.
The church grows up when each member is prepared to serve and express God’s love. That process is the key to preserving church unity, to growing up spiritually, and ultimately to growing the church.

God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit give each member of His church gifts of passion, position, and power so they can unify and expand His family around the world.
Jesus gave specific people as gifts to the Church, each with a precise function, to strengthen and equip the rest of its members for the work of the ministry.
A part of being a part of the body, is knowing what it is that you have to contribute and knowing how to contribute.
God, our master, has allocated talents to each of us, as He has determined what is best for us to fulfill our individual purpose in the greater mission of the Church.
When we practice self control, we allow God to work through us.
God made him who had no sin become sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.(2 Corinthians 5:12) The fruit of Goodness is found only in repentance of sin and reliance on Christ.
When we step out of our comfort zone and trust in God then he can help us do amazing things. God does not call the equiped He equips the called.
