Margo is joined by designer and storyteller Ariadne Kritonos, whose work brings centuries-old Greek folk motifs into contemporary life. Drawing inspiration from historic embroideries, textiles, and museum archives, Ariadne shares how studying the creative traditions of the past has shaped her approach to design, color, and inspiration today. Together, they explore the hidden stories embedded in traditional folk art, the value of looking beyond digital culture for creative inspiration, and what we can learn from the women whose stitches carried meaning across generations. Margo and Ariadne discuss: How Greek folk embroidery became the bridge between Ariadne's love of art, design, and cultural heritage The hidden symbolism and storytelling woven into traditional textile motifs Why researching archives, museums, and historic objects offers a different kind of inspiration than online algorithms The remarkable women behind these textiles and what their work reveals about creativity, community, and everyday life What traditional embroidery can teach us about imperfection, resourcefulness, and finishing our work The bold use of color in historic Greek textiles and why modern creatives should be less afraid to experiment How Ariadne is reimagining centuries-old motifs through contemporary design and wearable art Why preserving cultural traditions isn't about nostalgia, but about creating meaningful connections between past and present Connect with Ariadne: Website: https://ariadnekritonos.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ariadnekritonos/ Newsletter: https://ariadnekritonos.com/newsletter-sign-up

Kathy Mela spent 45 years in the NICU before becoming The Grief Navigator. Her take on grief will probably surprise you. Because she's not just talking about loss through death. In this conversation, Kathy breaks down why so many of us are walking around with unnamed grief and what it actually looks like to move through it.  We get into the difference between sorrow and grief, why anger and disconnection are often grief in disguise, and a framework for navigating any life transition with more self-compassion and less self-judgment.

In this deeply personal episode, Marley shares one of the biggest breakthroughs she has ever had around masculine energy, money, relationships, and healing childhood wounds. She explores how the unmet needs we carry from our relationship with a parent can unconsciously shape our experiences with love, money, and life itself. Through a powerful framework and real-life examples, Marley explains why we often seek externally what we believe we are missing internally, and how reconnecting to your own inner source can transform every area of your life.If you've ever felt abandoned, unchosen, unsupported, or like you're constantly chasing something outside yourself, this episode will give you a completely new perspective on healing, manifestation, and personal freedom. In This Episode We Cover:Why childhood experiences with your parents can shape your relationship with money and loveThe hidden wounds that attract repeating relationship patternsHow unmet needs create subconscious beliefs that influence your realityThe connection between masculine energy, money, and emotional safetyWhy external validation can never heal an internal woundThe difference between seeking from lack versus creating from wholenessHow to identify the phrase you always wished you heard from a parentWhy the universe mirrors your unhealed wounds back to youThe concept of becoming "whole" by healing the "holes" withinHow reconnecting to a higher power can shift feelings of abandonment and rejectionLearning to give yourself what you've been seeking from othersWhy your relationship with money often reflects your deepest emotional patternsHow to move from desperation and scarcity into overflow and abundanceThe power of becoming your own inner source of love, safety, and validation Key TakeawaysThe things we spend our lives seeking from money, relationships, and the world around us are often reflections of unmet needs from our past. When we learn to source those needs from within and reconnect to our own wholeness, we stop chasing and start attracting. True abundance begins when you realize that everything you've been looking for already exists inside of you. Your credit score went up but you still got denied for a loan, and the reason is debt-to-income ratio (DTI), the number lenders actually use to approve a mortgage and the one most credit repair clients never see coming. Join Our FREE Start Repairing Credit Challenge: HERE   The score gets your client noticed. The DTI gets them approved. So before you build a plan, ask every new client what they want to qualify for, what their timeline is, and what the rest of their financial picture looks like. Lead with the goal and you'll spot a denial before the lender does. DTI is simple math that almost nobody explains to clients. Add up their monthly debt payments, divide by their gross monthly income, and that percentage is the number. Most lenders want to see 43% or below, though conventional loans can stretch to 45% or even 50% with strong compensating factors like great credit and cash reserves. You move that number two ways, lowering the payments or raising documented income. Knocking out an installment loan with fewer than 10 payments left often gets the whole payment dropped from the calculation. Keep an eye on student loans, which can count against a client even in deferment. And when a big purchase is close, bring in a mortgage broker to run the exact numbers. Tune in!  P.S. Ep 391 The Hidden Conversation Inside Your Body That Could Be Affecting Your Fertility

Fertility Wellness with The Wholesome Fertility Podcast

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 16, 2026 14:11

There is a quiet conversation happening inside your body that may be shaping your fertility more than almost anything else you have been told to focus on. It is happening in your gut, your reproductive tract, and your uterus. Until recently, science assumed the uterus was sterile. We now know it is not, and the bacterial communities living in these three places are in constant communication with one another, influencing your hormones, your immune response, and your ability to conceive and carry a pregnancy. In this solo episode, Michelle walks you through what the research actually shows about the gut, vaginal, and uterine microbiomes, why this is one of the most overlooked pieces of the fertility puzzle, and what you can realistically do to support these ecosystems without falling into fear or expensive supplement spirals. You will learn why diversity is wonderful in the gut but not always ideal in the reproductive tract, how the estrobolome regulates your hormones, and how nervous system regulation, sleep, fiber, and fermented foods quietly shape the entire system. This is a grounded, science-backed conversation that gives you a clearer map of your own body. Key Takeaways: The uterus is not sterile. It has its own microbiome that influences implantation, pregnancy, and live birth rates. A reproductive tract dominated by Lactobacillus is associated with significantly better fertility outcomes, including higher IVF success and lower miscarriage and preterm birth rates. Diversity in the gut microbiome is healthy. In the uterus and lower reproductive tract, the opposite is true. A quieter, Lactobacillus-dominant environment is what supports fertility. The estrobolome, a collection of gut bacteria, regulates how your body metabolizes and clears estrogen. When it is off, estrogen can recirculate and contribute to issues like endometriosis, fibroids, and irregular cycles. Roughly 70 percent of your immune system lives in your gut, and gut inflammation can show up as uterine inflammation, affecting implantation. Antibiotics, hormonal birth control, chronic stress, poor sleep, and harsh products like douches and scented washes all disrupt these microbiomes. Foundational support is simple and accessible: a wide variety of plant fibers, real fermented foods, consistent sleep, nervous system regulation, and leaving the lower reproductive tract alone. Microbiome testing is now far more accessible and gives you specific information about your own body, so you can stop guessing and make targeted choices instead of throwing every wellness tool at the problem. Do you feel miles apart from your partner—even though you still love each other deeply? Many long-term couples gradually drift into a "roommate" dynamic: life feels stable, the relationship is intact, but something vital is missing. Over time, habits and strategies designed to avoid conflict and maintain harmony can quietly diminish the spark, intimacy, and passion that once brought you together. In this episode, you'll discover why emotional distance often develops in otherwise loving relationships and what it takes to reconnect. Through fresh insights, relatable examples, and practical guidance, this conversation explores how the pursuit of stability can sometimes come at the expense of closeness. You'll learn why deeper intimacy requires a willingness to tolerate vulnerability, uncertainty, and emotional risk—and how embracing those challenges can strengthen your bond. Whether your relationship feels mildly disconnected or stuck in a long-standing rut, you'll come away with actionable tools and new perspectives to help reignite passion and create a more meaningful connection. Dr. Bruce Chalmer is a psychologist and couples therapist with over 30 years of experience helping partners navigate the complexities of long-term relationships. Drawing on clinical insight, real-world compassion, and a deep understanding of how intimacy and anxiety intertwine, Dr. Chalmer has guided countless couples through the challenges explored in his books, video courses, and posts. With his wife, Judy Alexander, he is also the co-host of the podcast Couples Therapy in Seven Words and a trusted voice in relationship education.   Episode Highlights 04:30 How couples grapple with the competing needs for both stability and intimacy—and why this paradox lies at the heart of lasting relationships. 06:42 What often surprises couples in therapy and how rethinking "conflict" can actually bring unexpected relief and clarity. 11:22 How the pursuit of stability can slowly erode intimacy and why some couples find themselves drifting into "roommate mode" without realizing it. 15:15 Real-life examples of couples who deeply love each other but have quietly slipped into a routine that lacks real connection. 16:11 How fears—both known and hidden—can keep us from bringing up tough topics and leave couples feeling stuck. 22:15 Hidden anxieties that might be holding them back, especially for men. 23:51 What makes couples therapy so intimidating for so many. 27:26 How finding meaning—even in moments of anxiety—can shift your entire experience of relationship struggles. 31:08 How facing relationship challenges together can lead to a new sense of gratitude and growth that endures—even if the outcome isn't what you expected. 37:55 Practical guidance on taking safe, manageable steps toward greater connection. 39:18 How embracing curiosity, support, and small risks can foster hope, healing, and renewed passion in your relationship.   Your Checklist of Actions to Take Pause and Breathe: Take a moment to ground yourself with deep breaths before entering important conversations to increase presence and reduce anxiety. Get Curious, Not Panicked: Approach difficult topics with curiosity instead of fear, reminding yourself that discomfort does not signal dysfunction. Acknowledge and Validate Fears: Recognize your own and your partner's fears as legitimate rather than dismissing them, creating a safer environment for vulnerability. Define Desired Change: Together with your partner, clarify what "better" would look like in your relationship, orienting focus toward shared goals. Risk Small Vulnerabilities: Start by sharing a small, meaningful feeling or need with your partner, even if it feels scary, to practice intimacy in manageable doses. Reflect on Meaning and Purpose: Remind yourself of the value and meaning of your relationship, which can help bolster courage to tolerate uncertainty and discomfort. Use Support Systems: Consider seeking guidance from resources like books, video courses, or a trusted couples therapist to experience new ways of connecting. In this episode of Becoming Unshakable, I welcome John Register, whose life story offers a remarkable perspective on resilience, leadership, and the power of adapting to circumstances beyond our control. As a world-class athlete, Army officer, and Olympic hopeful, John appeared to be on a clear path forward. Then a training accident changed everything, ultimately leading to the amputation of his leg and forcing him to confront questions about identity, purpose, and what comes next. What followed was not a story of instant recovery or easy answers. Instead, John shares how he rebuilt his life one decision at a time, supported by family, community, and a willingness to rethink what success looked like. His journey eventually led him to the Paralympic Games, where he earned a silver medal, but the lessons he shares go far beyond athletics. They speak to anyone facing uncertainty, disruption, loss, or change. During our conversation, we explore why becoming unshakable is an ongoing process rather than a destination. John explains why he believes adversity cannot always be overcome, but it can be adapted to. We discuss the importance of self-leadership, the role vision plays during difficult seasons, and why waiting for certainty often keeps people stuck. He also shares how some of the most meaningful growth happens when we stop trying to control every outcome and focus instead on how we respond to what is in front of us. We also talk about the pressures leaders face today. From rapid technological change to economic uncertainty and the rise of AI, John offers a thoughtful perspective on staying connected to people when the world seems increasingly focused on systems and automation. His belief that human relationships matter even more in times of disruption is a message that feels especially relevant right now. One of my favorite parts of the discussion is John's framework of reckoning, revision, and renewal. He explains how people move through loss, create new possibilities, and eventually find a renewed sense of purpose. It's a powerful reminder that growth often begins when we stop wishing things would return to the way they were and start creating a path toward what could be. We finish by talking about something many leaders overlook: recovery. John shares why renewal is essential for performance, why rest should be planned rather than postponed, and how creating space to think may be one of the most valuable leadership practices available to us today. What part of John's story resonated most with you? And where might you need to let go of what was in order to move toward what could be? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

"Listening to your body is one of the key things you need to do to make everything else work." Over the past ten years of teaching people about fibromyalgia, Tami has seen certain issues repeatedly come up that get in the way of the healing journey. Last week, during our Certified Fibromyalgia Coach® training class, a student raised an important question about how we identify these issues when we have a client who isn't improving as we would like them to. The more you learn about fibromyalgia, the more aware you are of tools that could help you and why your symptoms may not be improving. At the same time, some less obvious issues often go unnoticed but must be addressed to make progress. Things like working with a doctor who doesn't quite know what to do with us, being in a season of life that doesn't allow us to prioritize ourselves, or unconscious trauma responses that block us from making the changes we need to. In today's episode, Tami is sharing the top three hidden reasons why your fibromyalgia symptoms might not be improving. She discusses why not listening to your body can block healing (whether or not it's unintentional), the key difference between consciously ignoring your body and being unaware of what it needs, the benefits of writing your body's owner's manual, how trauma can make it harder to manage your symptoms, acknowledging that rest and awareness are essential for healing, how undiagnosed or undertreated health conditions can get in the way of your healing journey, underlying conditions that Tami had to address as a part of her fibro journey, advocating for yourself and finding medical professionals who listen, how fibromyalgia amplifies other sources of pain, the importance of being realistic and managing expectations, why some people may not be ready, willing, or able to do the work required for improvement, when it's okay not to do the work, support for those facing financial or geographic limitations, and more.     Note: This episode is not meant to be medical advice. Every person and every situation is unique. The information you learn in this episode should be shared and discussed with your own healthcare providers. From Coup to Co-op: The Hidden Business Inside Your Building

Most people think of their apartment as a home. But if you live in a co-op, condo, HOA, or shared residential building, you are also part of a business, one with budgets, vendors, reserves, repairs, insurance, board politics, and financial decisions that can directly affect your monthly costs and property value. In this episode of The Real State, Alex Norman and Jamie Blond sit down with Tina Larsson, Co-Founder of The Folson Group, a former Wall Street analyst who organized a board coup in her own New York City co-op after questioning years of maintenance increases. By applying business discipline to building operations, Tina helped uncover $340,000 in savings and went on to build a consulting firm helping co-op and condo boards run their buildings more effectively. The conversation begins with the difference between a co-op and a condo, then moves into Tina's personal story: how she went from Wall Street analyst to co-op reformer after discovering that her own building was wasting money. She explains what a board coup actually looks like, why transparency matters, and how residents can take a more active role in protecting what is often their largest lifetime investment. Alex, Jamie, and Tina also explore the hidden business inside residential buildings: maintenance fees, vendor contracts, staff roles, reserve funds, capital projects, special assessments, and the decisions that boards often inherit without questioning. Tina explains why many boards are not intentionally mismanaging buildings, but often lack the technical expertise, time, or business framework needed to make better decisions. The episode also looks at the pressure facing New York City buildings today, including aging infrastructure, rising repair costs, Local Law 97, sustainability mandates, electrical capacity, heat pumps, boilers, and the financial tension between doing what is necessary and keeping buildings affordable for residents. The conversation also touches on the Champlain Towers collapse in Surfside, Florida, deferred maintenance, structural assessments, and why residents and buyers need to pay closer attention to how buildings are maintained and managed. Whether you live in a co-op, own a condo, serve on a board, manage a building, or are thinking about buying in New York City, this episode reveals why your building is not just where you live. It is a shared business, a shared investment, and a shared responsibility. Topics discussed: Co-op vs. condo ownership NYC co-op boards and condo boards Why buildings need to be run like businesses Tina Larsson's $340,000 co-op savings story Maintenance fees and annual increases Vendor contracts and building staff Board transparency and communication Property managers and resident managers Special assessments and capital repairs Local Law 97 and sustainability requirements Aging NYC buildings and infrastructure Deferred maintenance and building safety Champlain Towers / Surfside lessons What buyers should look for before purchasing Why Tina recommends looking at the basement Guest: Tina Larsson, Co-Founder of The Folson Group Website: thefolsongroup.com Connect with The Real State: Website: therealstate.co Send us feedback, topic ideas, or guest suggestions through our website. Government AI Shutdown Exposes Hidden Vendor Dependencies for MSPs

    Business of Tech

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 16, 2026 11:57

A pronounced infrastructure dependence on third-party AI models has emerged across the MSP ecosystem, largely due to the rapid adoption and integration of AI-powered features within vendor products. This structural shift is increasingly opaque, as providers are sold features rather than transparent access to underlying models, leaving MSPs exposed to changes in technologies and policies enacted upstream by vendors or regulators. The episode highlights how this dependency extends to delivery teams and end clients, with operational continuity tightly linked to decisions and actions outside the MSP's direct control. The most consequential development referenced is Anthropic's release and rapid withdrawal of its Fable 5 AI model following a directive from the U.S. Commerce Department, which ordered a cutoff of model access to foreign nationals within 72 hours of public launch. According to published benchmarks, Fable 5 surpassed GPT 5.5 in performance, but the government-mandated suspension exposed how quickly model access can be rescinded. The policy move immediately impacted any MSP or client with offshore or nearshore staff relying on AI features invisibly powered by that model. Further supporting the central theme, companies such as PAX8, Enforcer, and CloudRadio are embedding AI capabilities into platforms used by MSPs to manage Microsoft 365 environments, automate ticketing, and support scalable client operations. In parallel, vendors like Proofpoint are integrating compliance solutions directly with AI model APIs, further entwining risk management tools with the same core AI infrastructures. A Netrio survey cited in the episode found that while 82% of mid-market IT leaders have AI in production, only 26% report organization-wide governance, highlighting an accountability and visibility gap. Operationally, MSPs face heightened contract and vendor risk. Most lack an accurate inventory of which AI models underpin their services and how rapidly these dependencies can be affected by regulatory directives or vendor shifts. The discussion underscores the need for explicit procurement protocols, delivery mapping, and outage runbooks that account for opaque model dependencies. As clients seek greater transparency and contractual assurances regarding model use and continuity, MSPs who anticipate and document these dependencies may be positioned to reduce exposure and establish clearer accountability. 00:00 Switched Off  03:19 Painted Over 05:20 Govern or Absorb 08:41 Why Do We Care?  Supported by: Pax8 Sign up for the SMB Online Conference: www.smbonlineconference.com

They look polite on the outside, but underneath there is avoidance, walking on eggshells, resentment, emotional distance, and the sense that something is not quite right. In this episode, Tina Gosney, Family Conflict Coach and Family Life Educator, explains how hidden conflict can slowly erode family relationships, even when no one is openly fighting. He explains why lasting healing comes not from studying narcissists but from understanding your own role in the relationship. Using his "human magnet syndrome" and tango-dance metaphors, Ross shows how narcissists and codependents — those with what he calls Self-Love Deficit Disorder — are drawn together like opposite poles, each trying to fill a void rooted in childhood attachment trauma. He explores why narcissists behave as they do, why adults are still accountable for the harm they cause, and why codependents stay trapped in a cycle that feels paradoxically safe. I'm explaining how your immune system responds to emotional stress the same way it responds to physical threats, and giving you one small subtractive win: pulling ONE emotional input out of your life for seven days and noticing what your body does.   Resources and Links Mentioned Join the free Chronic Health Moms Facebook community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/chronichealthmoms 1:1 chronic health coaching: https://ashleybraden.com/coaching   Related Episodes: 219. What happens when we tell clients not to choose a pet sitter based solely on price, but then make every business decision based on cost ourselves? In this episode, we explore the disconnect between the advice we give clients and the choices we make as business owners. We discuss the hidden costs of free software, delayed hiring, skipped education, and avoiding professional help. We share the investments that transformed our own business, from software and certifications to coaching and conferences. We also examine the difference between being frugal and being cheap, and why strategic investments often create the biggest returns. Main topics: Hidden costs of cheap decisions Software and systems investments Outsourcing and hiring support Education coaching and growth Frugal versus cheap mindset Main takeaway: "If you truly believe that your clients get what they pay for, then you have to accept that your business gets what you pay for too." We're quick to explain why professional care costs more than the cheapest option. We talk about training, insurance, reliability, backup plans, and professionalism. But are we holding ourselves to that same standard? Too often we delay hiring help, avoid upgrading software, skip education, or put off investments that could make our businesses stronger because we're focused only on the price tag. The real question isn't "How much does it cost?" It's "What is it costing me not to do it?" Sometimes the most expensive decision is refusing to invest in the tools, systems, and expertise that could move your business forward. Links: Check out our Starter Packs See all of our discounts!

Have you ever looked back at your childhood and wondered why certain emotions felt impossible to control? In this episode, I'm sharing a deeply personal story about the temper tantrums I experienced as a child, the struggles I later saw in my own daughter, and the life-changing connection I eventually discovered between breathing, sleep, and nervous system regulation.   We'll explore why so many behaviors we label as “misbehavior” may actually be signs of an overwhelmed and under-resourced body. I'll walk you through the surprising role mouth breathing plays in emotional regulation, why so many families unknowingly repeat the same patterns across generations, and how something as simple as learning to breathe through your nose can help you and your children find your way back to calm.   Nobody taught us how deeply breathing affects our emotions, sleep, and ability to regulate stress—but now we know better. This week, take a moment to slow down, notice your breath, and remember that meaningful change can start with something as simple as one intentional inhale.   If this episode resonated with you, please rate, follow, review, and share the podcast with someone who could benefit from this conversation. Send us Fan MailIn this episode of the Talking Pools Podcast, hosts Lee Salisbury, Shane Sneddon, and Nick discuss one of the most challenging and often frustrating aspects of pool service: leak detection. From simple dye tests and bucket tests to advanced acoustic listening devices, pressure testing, and underground leak locating equipment, the team shares real-world experiences, troubleshooting techniques, and lessons learned from years in the field. Topics CoveredWhy Leak Detection Is a Specialized SkillLeak detection often goes far beyond finding a wet spot in the yard. The hosts discuss how locating leaks requires patience, methodical troubleshooting, experience, and sometimes specialized equipment that represents a significant investment for a service company. Common Leak Sources Every Technician Should Check FirstBefore investing in advanced equipment, technicians can often identify many leaks through basic inspection and process-of-elimination techniques, including: Multiport valve waste lines  Hydrostatic relief valves  Skimmer box cracks  Skimmer faceplates and gaskets  Return fittings  Suction-side plumbing  Equipment pad leaks  Pump lid cracks and air leaks The hosts explain why many leaks can be found without expensive equipment when a systematic approach is used. Dye Testing: Every Technician's Best FriendOne of the most effective and affordable leak detection tools remains simple dye testing. The discussion covers: How dye reveals water movement  Why water table levels can affect results  Choosing the right dye color for different pool finishes  Common mistakes when performing dye tests  Creative field solutions using syringes, plasticine, and simple tools The team also discusses fluorescent dyes and situations where standard dye colors become difficult to see. When the Water Table Changes EverythingHeavy rainfall and high groundwater can completely change leak detection results. Shane shares examples where visible holes in vinyl liners showed no water loss because surrounding groundwater pressure equalized the leak. Understanding groundwater conditions is critical when diagnosing suspected leaks. Vinyl Pool Leak ChallengesThe hosts discuss: Large vinyl liner tears  Aging liner failures  Temporary patching methods  When repairs are no longer practical  Recognizing when liner replacement is the only realistic solution Real-world examples illustrate why some repairs become recurring service calls if underlying liner deterioration is ignored. Fiberglass Pool Failures and Structural IssuesSeveral unusual fiberglass pool failures are discussed, including: Pool walls collapsing due to improper backfill  Hydrostatic valve failures  Pools lifting out of the ground despite being full of water  Drainage design failures around pool shells These stories highlight why understanding soil conditions and groundwater management is just as important as understanding plumbing. Advanced Leak Detection EquipmentShane explains the equipment used by professional leak detection companies, including: Acoustic microphones  Pipe microphones  Pressure testing systems  Underground listening devices  Sonar and sound-based locating systems The discussion includes how these systems work, their limitations, and why training is essential before offering leak detection as a professional service. Is Leak Detection Worth Adding to Your Business? For service companies considering expanding into leak detection, the hosts discuss: Equipment costs  Training requirements  Insurance considerations  Break-even analysis  Market demand  Scheduling and labor requirements They emphasize the importance of understanding profitability before investing heavily in specialized services. Knowing When to Call a SpecialistNot every pool company needs to perform advanced leak detection. The hosts discuss the value of building relationships with trusted specialists and recognizing when a problem exceeds your equipment, experience, or risk tolerance. Real-World Leak StoriesThe episode features several memorable leak investigations, including: A pool that only leaked intermittently  A cracked pump lid causing major system issues  Underground plumbing surprises  Faulty underground repairs  Hidden plumbing modifications discovered during excavation These stories demonstrate why leak detection often feels more like detective work than pool service. Field Tips and TricksThe hosts share practical technician tips, including: Bucket testing procedures  Using plasticine and Blu Tack for temporary line isolation  Why proper expansion plugs matter  Temporary repair products that actually work  The dangers of underground rubber couplers  Repair materials for emergency situations These small tricks can save technicians hours of frustration in the field. Key TakeawaySuccessful leak detection is built on a systematic process of elimination. Start with the obvious, verify assumptions, test methodically, and know your limitations. Whether you're using a simple dye syringe or advanced acoustic equipment, the goal remains the same: gather evidence, eliminate possibilities, and follow the facts until the leak reveals itself. Connect With Talking PoolsHave a topic suggestion or a question you'd like answered on a future episode? For most people, donor eggs is at the bottom of the list. It is not where you wanted to land. And if your clinic is recommending it, something in you is saying there has to be more to look at first. Here is what we see every week. The donor egg recommendation rarely arrives after a complete workup. It arrives after looking at the AMH, the FSH, the follicle count, maybe a basic semen analysis, and maybe being told your TSH is normal. Those numbers are real. The diagnosis is real. What gets called complete is the question. This episode is the 11 specific things we most often find skipped before the recommendation gets made. Pull it up. Take notes. Bring it to your next appointment. The 11 patterns: 1. Thyroid, the full panel, not just TSH 2. The gut, including H. pylori 3. Hidden food sensitivities 4. Medications you are already on that affect fertility 5. The vaginal microbiome 6. The seminal microbiome 7. The male partner's full bloodwork 8. Sperm DNA fragmentation 9. Vaginal and seminal cross-contamination between partners 10. The nervous system and HPA axis 11. Liver function and hormone clearance These are the tests that sit outside the standard fertility workup. A 2024 study in Archives of Gynecology and Obstetrics found that ovarian reserve markers like AMH do not significantly predict natural conception in women with regular cycles. The donor egg recommendation comes from one snapshot, not the full investigation. If this is the first episode you have landed on in this series, go back and listen to "Told Donor Eggs Are Your Only Option? Ask This First," then "How Long Should I Try With My Own Eggs Before Donor Eggs?" then "The Gut Findings Your Clinic Did Not Look For," and "Multiple Failed IVF And Told Donor Eggs?" #427 In this podcast episode, Guy talked with water researcher Veda Austin about her radical perspective that water is not just H₂O but a form of consciousness, light, and living intelligence. She shared how a horrific car accident and a series of medical crises led her to a healing journey with naturally alkaline water, which she credited with extraordinary recoveries, including 27 shards of glass surfacing from her body after 20 years.  Veda explained her crystallography work, describing how water responds to words, emotions, and loving intention by changing its structure, and how she has used simple "word" experiments to support healing. They explored the idea that consciousness may live in the body's fluids rather than the brain, citing cases of people thriving with almost no brain tissue and the role of cerebrospinal fluid. The conversation closed with Veda offering practical wisdom about receiving water with gratitude, treating it as a divine mirror, and recognizing the power each of us holds to shape our own wellbeing. About Veda: Veda Austin is a water researcher, public speaker, mother, artist  and author. She has dedicated the last 14 years observing and photographing the life of water. She believes that water is fluid intelligence, observing itself through every living organism on the planet and in the Universe. Her primary area of focus is photographing water in its 'state of creation', the space between liquid and ice. It is through her remarkable crystallographic photos that water reveals its awareness of not only Creation, but thought and intention through imagery.  Veda brings a message of hope and joy from the very source of life itself, she says "Water is transparent, it knows no colour, creed or religion. Water does not judge, nor does it label, it will enter the body of an ant as easily as it will enter the body of a king, or a homeless person or a tree or a dragonfly. Water is our constant companion, from the moment we are conceived it is always with us...even upon death, it is water that evaporates from the physical rising upwards into the Heavens. In this episode of Must Read Alaska's Energy and Business Edition, host Todd sits down with Marcus Moore of Alaskan Rants for an in-depth look at the special session on the Alaska LNG project. Central to the discussion is House Bill 381, which shifts taxation of pipeline infrastructure from traditional property taxes to an alternative volumetric tax based on gas throughput. Marcus provides sharp analysis on the bill's implications, including potential tax relief worth hundreds of millions for project backers, new flexibility for municipalities, and provisions like community impact funds and the Fairbanks spur line. He questions whether the project will deliver affordable gas and jobs for Alaskans, highlighting the role of data centers in achieving lower prices and the massive potential revenue from carbon and hydrogen tax credits. The conversation explores governance changes at AGDC, liability issues, and the disconnect between public promises and committee realities. A must-listen for informed Alaskans.   X: @AlaskanRants Linktree: https://linktr.ee/alaskanrants?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=3be81fcf-fc4e-4c07-bf79-207e49534aeb Substack: https://alaskanrants.substack.com/   SPONSORS: Must Read Alaska: https://mustreadalaska.com/subscriptions/ Promo Code: energy for 10% off all our annual plans DRB Productions: https://centertix.com/events/beatles-vs-rolling-stones-musical-showdown Promo Code: London for MRAK subscribers
