It's our final episode of Season 2! Today, Jon, Tommy, and Dan are guiding us on how to be like bison and go into the storm. Huge thank you to everyone who has been tuning in and sharing with friends, we're so grateful for you!
For our final Well-Being Wednesday of Season 2, we're diving into the topic of slowing. Slowing is good for our souls, and it is critical to embrace being followers of Jesus. When we practice slowness intentionally, we are actually training to follow Jesus.
Undoubtedly, we are in the middle of a storm. Today, Jon challenges us with the question, will you be a cow or a bison? That might sound a little funny at first, but Jon taught us that cows run from the storm and bison run into the storm. If you want to be a bison, you can start implementing the helpful tips Jon gave us on how we can actually do that.
At Mission, our values are to Gather, Grow, and Go. Today, Jon, Tommy, and Dan are de-bunking misconceptions about going missionally. While going missionally is about others, it actually is an opportunity for Jesus to transform us through the process.
Today, Jon and Bryan are leading us through the topic of simplicity. It seems to be hardest to make time for some of the most simple, basic, and fundamental things. But if we listen to the commands of God and spend a lifetime on the simple, God will work out the complex.
Today, Jon led us in taking our thoughts captive. We may not have control over the events that happen in our lives, but the response we choose will determine the outcome.
The guys are here for #FridayWhyDay and we are so excited to share more about our new campaign BE. FOR. This campaign exists to raise funds for the working poor, the fatherless, and the trafficked. Today we live out the words of Jesus from Mathew 6. We refuse to worry. We choose to worship. Jesus, show us the way forward.
We're switching it up and Bryan Silver is joining us today to continue our conversation on the Sabbath. The Sabbath isn't just about physical rest, there may actually be times that God is calling us to work on the Sabbath. If God says you should move, then you will gain more rest by obedience than if you were to do nothing.
We've got a big weekend ahead! We're celebrating Never The Same and all that God has done through Never The Same over the last 2 years. So today for #FridayWhyDay, we're sharing some awesome stories from the day we purchased the building in 2018 all the way to 2020.
In today's episode, we are continuing our conversation about the Sabbath. Rest is essential! We can't live without it. But are we ready to let God be God and be our Sabbath rest?
We're switching it up and focusing our Mondays for the next few weeks on MINDSET. Today, Jon gave us some insight into 1 Thessalonians 5:18; "give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." God's will for our lives is gratitude. How would our lives look different if we lived a life thanking God for what we have instead of always asking for more?
It's easy to get disconnected right now, especially with your church. That's why we do #FridayWhyDay! We want you to feel connected here. Today, Jon, Tommy, and Dan shared wins from the week, some exciting news about Never The Same, and wrapped up their discussion on the book Flesh by Hugh Halter.
Today, Jon and Bryan dive into the question: What is the Sabbath? So often as Christians, we overlook the Sabbath. Other than Chik-fil-A being closed, our lives are too busy to notice that we should be slowing down. God designed us to be His people and for Him to be our God. He gives us rest through Sabbath, we just have to slow down and obey His commandment, "Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy."
Today, Jon and Dr. Sanjay Merchant are closing out our series through the book of Philippians by reading a letter from Paul to two women. Our times and cultures are different today than they were when this letter was written, but the message remains the same. Unity is critical to the foundation of belonging to the Lord.
The guys have been reading Flesh by Hugh Halter and today they are tackling the topic of confrontation. Hugh describes confrontation as, "That divine moment where grace leads to truth, and where truth is allowed to confront people with their need for God." Facing confrontation is difficult, but thankfully we have a perfect example in Jesus. He was a friend of sinners and we should be too.
Silence and solitude are hard to come by, our lives are constantly interrupted by any number of things. We have to intentionally create space for solitude and today, Jon and Bryan inspire us to do just that. Jesus came to give us abundant life, not a distracted life!
One of the most popular verses in the whole Bible is found in Philippians 4. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” - Philippians 4:6 Today we dive into what the Bible says about anxiety. Anxiety is not a sin. It is a signal letting us know that we are out of position.
Jesus asked 307 questions. Jesus was asked 183 questions. Jesus answered 3 questions. Today Jon, Dan, and Tommy are talking about the importance of conversation. Jesus did relationships with people and He wants us to come back to how He did it.

Moving forward and away from fear takes intentionality. Recalibrating focus helps us build toward something less reactive and more proactive. Today, Jon and Bryan Silver are discussing the two key aspects to recalibrate focus.
Context is key and that's exactly what we're doing today! We're diving deeper into Philippians 1 with Dr. Sanjay Merchant and how we can obey Philippians 1:27-28 by standing firm in one Spirit and striving together in Christ.
Jon, Tommy and Dan dig into the book Flesh: Bringing the Incarnation Down to Earth by Hugh Halter, and talk about what it really looks like to follow Christ - the 7 days a week, 24 hours a day kind of following Christ. How do we truly “imitate Christ”?
There is a lot of uncertainty today that makes it easy to get wrapped up in fear. Fear is a natural reaction to things like job loss, financial hardship, etc. It goes beyond a matter of anxiety. There are times that fear is healthy. We should be afraid of some things. But it becomes disrupting to life when fear begins to cross that boundary from healthy to unhealthy. Unhealthy fear can hold us back from the things we need to do. We need to learn how to engage with fear in a healthy way, and to work through fear in a way that does not allow it to interrupt our lives. Tune in to hear how you can resist being ruled by fear.
Today we are taking a deep dive into the book of Philippians with Professor of Theology, Dr. Sanjay Merchant. If you would consider yourself a "history buff", this episode is for you!

We all have rhythms. Whether it's when you brush your teeth or how you schedule your week. When our rhythms get out of place, (hello, 2020) we struggle. It's normal for our rhythms to get jolted. But rhythms empower our ability to engage purpose. How can you find a new rhythm this fall so that you can re-engage purpose?
Jon talks with Hannah Gronowski, founder of Generation Distinct and author of "Generation Distinct: Discover the Wrong You Were Born to Make Right". Hannah has a huge passion to help young adults find their purpose in life and resist the culture of apathy and victim mentality. ”Your life is not happening TO you. YOU are happening to your life!” - Hannah Gronowski
The last few Fridays, we've talked about starting with conviction, then staying calm. Today, we move on to the next principle from Chapter 11 of Tod Bolsinger's book “Canoeing the Mountains”, which is STAY CONNECTED.At every step, we need to be asking ourselves WHY we do what we do. Why? Because it is important to always be intentional about moving forward. Why is it important to stay connected? Because one of the best ways to move forward is through real genuine and intentional CONNECTION.If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.-African Proverb
We've been going through the 6 strategies on how to navigate our way forward in the midst of the struggle of life. Today, we dive into the third - “Reengaging The Present Moment”.To be fully present and engaged in the present moment is such a valuable but challenging thing. Our culture doesn't teach us how to do it, and we don't do it instinctively because of the chaos around us. Tune in to today's episode to hear Jon and Bryan share their perspective on how we can all reengage the present moment.
On Sunday we talked about how the way forward is around in perspective by looking back in belief and forward in faith. Well, the "more" for your Monday also includes two bonus ways that your way forward is around in perspective: up in mentorship and down in discipleship.
Today, Jon, Tommy, and Dan continue digging into Tod Bolsinger's book “Canoeing the Mountains”. Today's focus - STAY CALM.Bolsinger focuses on leadership and strategy. Here's his 4 part framework on how to lead well:Start with conviction.Stay calm.Stay together.Stay the course.Romans 12:1 talks about the renewing of our minds. It's all on you.Rise and grind.I got this.Show up early - stay late.Don't be a zero, be a hero. Those statements reflect perseverance according to culture. A Biblical perspective of perseverance is very different.Biblical perseverance can include some of these things, but not because we've earned something, but because we've already received something - that being the gift of eternal life AND the power of God's Holy Spirit! It is not up to our strength, but to the strength of God that is IN us!Perseverance means that we let nothing move us. If you want to persevere, you have to fix your eyes on the finish and fix your feet on a promise.
