In this message from Proverbs 3:11–12, we see how dads can change the world—and how God uses anyone who faithfully invests in others through lives marked by instruction, correction, and affection. In this way, we begin to understand how dads can change the world as God shapes hearts to know Him and walk in His ways. What is poured out today can echo for generations, calling us to trust Him as we lead with love and purpose.

In this episode, Michael Meade considers how there are always two stories going on in life. The ongoing drama of what we call the world and the story of the individual soul trying to awaken to a life of meaning and purpose. The two stories are secretly related and become more intensely connected and dramatic during times of upheaval and radical change. When the way we have been taught to view life no longer explains the world in which we live, we are being called to awaken to a greater imagination and deeper understanding of the world around us. In mythological terms, while one world is collapsing another is secretly forming and waiting to become known. And because we are involved in both stories, we become witnesses to the collapse and potential contributors to the renewal. That kind of imagination does not align with most modern science, which believes that entropy will simply drag us all down in the end anyway; nor does it fit with religious ideas that declare that the end might be near. In times of chaos what we need to recall and better understand is that the mystery behind it all is the story of collapse and renewal. Mythological stories offer a framework for the essential and necessary process of re-creation. Just as a forest renews when the great trees fall and decompose before the next version can grow. Knowing about this process of collapse and renewal does not make experiencing it less painful or even less confusing. It does give us a mythic and imaginative framework that can help us cope with a world gone wrong, while also developing practices for assisting in the process of rejuvenation and renewal of life on Earth. Scientists warn that a “super” El Niño could be on its way which, combined with the effects of human-caused climate change, could result in 2027 being the warmest year on record. Yet El Niño is not just a climate story - throughout history, this recurring weather pattern has helped shape global events, triggering everything from famines and revolutions to impacting the Cold War. In this episode, we speak to historian Peter Frankopan, Professor of Global History at Oxford, to discuss what historical El Niños tell us about what cou be coming our way, and how we can collectively prepare. When climate wins happen, we often credit the market. Or the policy. But is philanthropy the most underappreciated force in the climate fight? And can less than 2% of global giving actually change anything?Behind the headlines, people like Jennifer Kitt of Climate Lead are identifying where finite resources can be spent in order to make a real difference, and helping to grow the pie. Tom Rivett-Carnac, Christiana Figueres, and Paul Dickinson sit down with her to ask: what does well-targeted philanthropic money actually unlock? Who decides where it goes? And why, when it works, do we so rarely notice? From the coalition that quietly accelerated the EV transition by decades, to the $30,000 grant that helped take climate responsibility all the way to the World's Court. The uncomfortable truth is that climate action is becoming reliant on the generosity of a wealthy few. The good news is that this money is growing; the bad news is that it needs to grow much, much more. So how much would it take to start solving some of tomorrow's problems today? And are there risks in expecting a small and privileged group to fund a movement that belongs to everyone?Learn More:
Jayden Sheridan was just 17 years old when he found out he was going to be a father, and immediately Jayden knew he needed to give his son better opportunities than he ever had growing up in regional Victoria. (R)In Seymour, which is one of the most disadvantaged postcodes in Australia, Jayden experienced homelessness, substance abuse, violence and a general lack of direction. He had no male role models in his life, but he did have the local skate park. It's where he went to feel safe and to feel himself, and Jayden wanted to create that same feeling for his son, and all the other kids in his town of Seymour. What started as adhoc skate lessons quickly turned into Gnarly Neighbours, something far bigger and more impactful than 17-year-old Jayden could have imagined.Jayden has recently been selected as a 2026 Westpac Social Change Fellow. Operating a business strictly for profit is an outdated, exhausting leak on long-term sustainability. True organizational energy comes from aligning corporate objectives with a distinct, larger mission that transforms standard daily operations into purposeful problem solving. For many leaders, the disconnect between personal values and their professional output creates a heavy friction point that ultimately stalls organizational growth. We sit down with Bryan Welch, an experienced media executive, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Consumer Impact Events, to map out the tactical reality of leading an impact-driven enterprise. We get into the specific mechanics of balancing a purpose-driven mission with the raw, daily puzzles of traditional retail operations. Bryan details his 50 year business journey from running community newspapers to managing massive media spaces like Mother Earth News, revealing why deep interest sustains a career far longer than raw passion alone. Our conversation pivots into technical territory as we break down the rise of Agentic Commerce, analyzing how artificial intelligence utilizes data points from rigorous B Corporation certifications to fundamentally shift consumer shopping behaviors. We also analyze the unglamorous friction points existing between suppliers and big retail merchants, exploring data-backed methods to remove costly food waste, streamline distribution loops, and foster collaborative value creation.Operators frequently get torpedoed during market scaling because they rely on theory instead of directly confronting the logistical realities of category pricing. True sustainable growth requires a grounded mindset shift, a willingness to embrace the messy variables of human error, and the courage to strip away manufactured brand identities. Viewers will walk away with a functional framework for auditing their supply chain inefficiencies, an understanding of the incoming artificial intelligence landscape, and a blueprint for executing authentic leadership.
Celebrate the powerful conclusion of our B.L.E.S.S. series as we explore what it means to share your story and live as a witness for Jesus. On Pentecost, ordinary people changed the world simply by telling what God had done in their lives—and you can too. You don't need perfect words or all the answers—just a willingness to be real. Discover how your story can become a powerful way to bring hope, spark faith, and make an eternal impact in the lives of others.

How Low Interest Rates Change the World: Global Trends Caused by Low Rates and Emerging Factors Shaping the Future of Rates (Oxford UP, 2025) explores the societal impact of changing interest rates. Taking its starting point in the remarkable four-decade decline in global interest rates from 1980 to 2020, the book examines five global trends it caused, the underlying factors that drove interest rates lower, and emerging trends likely to shape the future path of interest rates. The book contends that the steady decline in interest rates around the world from 1980 to 2020 played a pivotal role in shaping five significant global trends during the same period: soaring debt levels, escalating housing prices, surging stock markets, widening economic inequality, and increased financial risk-taking. The book also explores emerging factors likely to shape the future trajectory of interest rates. While demographic trends may keep rates low, other forces, such as rising public debt, can push them higher. The book offers its perspective on the interaction of these opposing trends, and presents its view on the future evolution of interest rates. How Low Interest Rates Change the World is a no-nonsense fact-based book written in plain language. A key feature of the book is its empirical approach and reliance on data. Figures and tables richly illustrate and support the arguments presented, thereby inviting a broad audience to follow its fascinating journey into the evolution of interest rates and their impact.
