Today, we're joined by one of the most successful Boys Basketball Coaches in this era. Coach Reese won multiple State Championships in his time at Kingfisher. Listen as he talks us through what led to that success and what has led to his innovation as a coach.
We're catching up with former Oklahoma Sooners Womens Basketball Assistant and current CCS Lady Royals Head Basketball Coach Chad Thrailkill. Coach Thrailkill is leading the Lady Royals to a place they haven't been in a while. Last year, their team made it to the State Semi-Finals and are not satisfied. Listen as he talks about his coaching journey and what he hopes to be on the horizon for the Lady Royals.
Today's guest is a pillar in 6A Boys Basketball. It's not common you see a coach stay at one place as long as Coach Cowherd, but it's especially rare to do it at the 6A level. Coach Shane Cowherd understands there's a higher calling to what his job title is and pours into young people in an intentional way.
Coach Chad Rumer is the Head Coach of the Kingston Lady Redskins. If you're coaching against him you may want to expect pressure and tons of it and that's on purpose! Coach Rumer wants you to adjust to his teams and not get to play that you want to play. He also understands the tremendous opportunity that coaching young people brings too. Coach Jackson has had a tremendous amount of success as a player at PCO. In the coaching ranks, Coach Jackson has been at Mount Saint Mary's, Piedmont, and now PCO. His first two stops were highly successful and so now, Coach Jackson will return home to try and continue the success of tradition rich legacy of that program. Stay tuned because we end up discussing a PCO all time starting 5 as well.
Coach Qualls has been coaching and coaching at a very high level for a long time. He spent most of his career pacing the sidelines on the basketball court. Now, you can find him coaching third base on the softball field. Regardless of what sport he is coaching there's one thing that remains a constant. His kids are going to be well coached. Listen as Coach Qualls walks us through his coaching journey and explains what it means to him to care.
On the final week of Coaches Clinic Conversations, we catch with up some buddies at Byng High School. One who is gaining traction building a golf program despite the lack of facilities. The other who has turned a program into a perennial powerhouse. Then we move on to talking to a Coach who does it all. Volleyball, Girls Basketball, among other things. With practices kicking off this week our focus is on football. We combined football and wrestling in this episode because most wrestling coaches also coach Football. At least both coaches we're talking to this week do. In this week's episode, we will be talking to a few different coaches that are all in either year one or year two in new roles and most are in new districts. Then we moved on to talk to Coach Kayla Denton of the Idabel Lady Warriors on how they used motivation to overcome defeat for the taste of victory. To wrap everything up, we speak to the Associate Director of the OSSAA , Brian Lester on how he was able to step away from coaching and take the leap to work for the OSSAA.

Coach Miller after taking a 3 year break will be back on the sidelines, but this time it will not be in the maroon and gold. Coach Miller will be coaching at Am-Po next season and we talk about what that transition has been like and how that process played out. Coach Miller also talked about what he believes makes up a team and how the coach fits into that dynamic as well.
Coach Edmonson didn't learn how to coach basketball 3 years ago after winning a state title as a head coach. Coach Edmonson has had a tremendous amount of success at every stop he's made, but for many years now he's been at Dale which has been a pillar of success in their class. Coach Edmonson talks us through the recent success and what he thinks is so unique about this group of kids that he has been coaching the last few years.
