Minnesota lawmakers failed to add protections to an obscure discount drug program this year, amid complaints from the pharmaceutical industry that some large hospitals abuse the so called 340B program.Republican-endorsed governor candidate Kendall Qualls says the campaign focus this year shouldn't be on President Donald Trump. Qualls is one of several candidates in a GOP primary race to determine the party nominee.An ICE detainee from Burnsville with serious health problems was released Wednesday. Andrea Pedro-Francisco is a twenty three year old asylum seeker who has lived in Burnsville with her family since 2019. She was detained by ICE in February and sent to Texas just before a planned surgery to remove an ovarian cyst.

5-5-26 Tonight we're hanging with Tony Qualls. Tony is meadmaker/owner of Manic Meadery and brewer/owner of Gnosis Brewing. And he puts on the Sugarbelt Mead Festival every year. A busy guy! Tony is not just a meadery owner, he's also a musician. He toured in the band Groovatron for 12 years, doing over 1500 shows in 12 years (makes me tired just thinking about all that travel!). In April 2024, Tony and the gang opened Gnosis Brewing, also in Merrillville, Indiana. Founded by Tony, Keith, Eric, Adam, and Brandon, the brewery embodies an unending quest for beer perfection, continually evolving to delight both new craft beer enthusiasts and seasoned connoisseurs. With a commitment to quality over quantity, Gnosis Brewing rigorously tests each beer recipe through multiple batches and trials before it reaches the customer. The brewery aims to push the boundaries of traditional brewing, ensuring that every release meets their high standards of excellence. Tony is a lifelong entrepreneur, having run a vinyl record company, painting company and a bunch of other businesses. Plus he's a skilled tradesman in welding and carpentry (that would help with build out!). Tony has been married to his lovely wife Vanessa for 12 years, and they have two kids. Not to sit on his laurels, Tony plans to pursue law school and recording backlogs of musical material while running his meadery (getting tired again, lol). He likes to mountain bike and ride his motorcycle in his free time (he has free time?). Tony co-founded Manic Meadery with Keith Cantwell in 2018 in Crown Point, Indiana. Manic is a small batch meadery, and they also do wine and cider. They've gotten a lot of interest in their sweet dessert meads using whole fruit and often multiple adjuncts. Tony is also a BJCP mead judge, and holder of Mazer Cup awards for both home and commercial mead. www.commsolutionsmn.com- It's election season again. As we came through the caucuses, it began to show us who the serious contenders are. Lisa Demuth, Kendall Qualls, and Mike Lindell rose to the top for the Republican candidates for governor. One of the three comes out of political circles, while the other two (Qualls and Lindell) are outsiders. Meanwhile on the Democrat side, Amy Klobuchar was beat by "uncertain". On the Senate side, Michelle Tafoya seems to be the one to beat as she has the name recognition and the ability to get national attention and money. Angie Craig and Peggy Flannagan in a heated battle for the Dems, but both are pretty weak candidates. Despite all of the craziness in Minnesota, our President has been on a roll, giving a masterclass in how to take down a looming showdown between fascist powers in the west and communist powers in the east and reframing the entire plans to carve up the globe between them. As President Trump has implemented tariffs upon nations to get better deals, we have seen billions of dollars come in and businesses return to the United States. He went to the World Economic Forum and told them exactly how things were going to be: no more cafe standards, no more EV mandates... and Greenland. Greenland is mineral-rich and pivotal in the defense of North America. The president has been out front in his desire for it and walks away from the WEF with a deal to get what he really wanted the whole time. His "Donroe Doctrine" is reordering the western hemisphere, as China has been kicked out of Panama, Maduro (who was posing as the leader of Venezuela after losing the election) has been arrested in an amazing military action, and Cuba is on the brink of collapse. We are watching the reordering of the world powers right before our eyes. What was looking like the susnset of the American experiment, is now looking like it will be a major world power going into the next phase of human history. Let's hope that for the first time ever, a nation in decline can turn it around and be better than it was before.
