Night Shyamalan in special Patreon exclusive episodes. Join hosts Jonathan Foster and Fil Freitas, as they skip past a couple of the dregs of M. Night's career and into what is widely regarded as the beginning of the comeback of the director's storied career, with the 2015 found footage horror/thriller THE VISIT.The film following two kids who travel to the middle of nowhere in Pennsylvania to visit their grandparents for the first time, and things start to get a bit weird. With a super low budget, a production partner in Jason Blum's Blumhouse Pictures and an interesting idea, M. Night somehow squeaks out a fun little found footage film that doesn't have too many of his tropes we have come to know and love. Sit back and think of those glory days of visiting your grandparents and one of them shoved their dirty nappy into your face. What happened to M. Night as a kid???? "Would you mind getting inside the oven to clean it?" For full listings and tickets visit: princecharlescinema.com If you enjoy the podcast, leave a Rating and Review! It really helps us out! In today's episode of Crossing the 180, Ron speaks with the filmmakers behind the Blumhouse Pictures and Ryan Murphy executive-produced Netflix documentary Pray Away. This is a powerful documentary about the conversion therapy movement in the evangelical church. Essentially the campaign helps "cure" members of LGBTQ+ community. Producer Jess Devaney of Multitude Films and writer/director Kristine Stolakis are on to share their background, the making of this doc, how it got to Netflix, and their own personal journeys. It's a captivating conversation you won't want to miss. The 2 Dudes were able to sneak in one more movie before theaters across the country were SHUT DOWN! Strange world we live in right now, so seems like a good time to talk about the "controversial" film The Hunt. This 2019 movie pushed back it's release to the double-deuce, and now we finally get to tell you what we think about it. Can't go to the movies? Well it's streaming on VOD to help you get through your self-quarantine. The Trailer Park is going medieval on your ass, as we talk about The Green Knight. Spoilers after the 47 minute mark. 2dudesmoviereviews.com
February strikes again with the release of a film so terrible, the guys were forced to add a second review to the mix to strike some kind of balance. So it is that Paul briefly talks about the new Hazza Ford film, The Call of the Wild, based on the classic Jack London novel, before both the guys tear Blumhouse's Fantasy Island a new one Jason Blum and Jeff Wadlow (the team behind the abysmal Truth or Dare) this time present a weird horror version of the 1970s TV show, and surprise surprise, it is a truly terrible experience. Can the guys make head or tall of one of the most ridiculous scripts in recent Hollywood history? How does Paul's love/hate relationship with Blumhouse Pictures fare after sitting through this one? And who rates this largely according to the attraction he has to one of the characters? Find out as The Countdown continues ... For this episode, in news Jurassic World gets animated, Swamp Thing gets cancelled and Blumhouse Pictures consults the Magic 8 Ball to determine what their next project will be. Then in what we've been watching I have reviews for some recent releases along with the final X-Men movie, Dark Phoenix. All that and much more in this episode of Flicks!
The sequel to our pilot episode is a review of David Gordon Green's true sequel to John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic. This film is a return to form for the series featuring the triumphant return of Jamie Lee Curtis to once again face the Boogeyman. Our conversation traces the origin's of this project from Halloween 3D (The sequel to Rob Zombie's Halloween II), Dimension Film's promised "recalibration" of the series announced in 2015 (Which ended up with a script), to the franchise landing at Blumhouse Pictures, and finding its legs with the held of Danny McBride and David Gordon Green, and featuring the stellar music of John Carpenter.

Always admire interesting individuals and Movie Producer Jason Blum of Blumhouse Pictures is no exception. His style of business and cinema is probably the most interesting forms of moviemaking today. From smash it’s like paranormal activity to get out and many in between, his approach to business in a creative sense can be harnessed into your own. As I always say it is very healthy to study people that are not associated with your industry. The reason for that is it’s a fresh take on business, so have your notebook handy :-) give the podcast listen and learn a little bit about Jason Blum. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/cashunt/support
