In one of those bumper-sized guest-filled jamborees in which we specialise, this week's Empire Podcast sees John Nugent sit down on Zoom to interview Eddington star, Joaquin Phoenix... or does Joaquin Phoenix interview John Nugent? All will be revealed. [18:52 - 35:59 approx] Elsewhere, Chris Hewitt has a lovely chat about The Life of Chuck with co-stars Tom Hiddleston and Chiwetel Ejiofor, in which they try desperately not to give anything away about Mike Flanagan's Stephen King adaptation; [59:45 - 1:18:06 approx] and he also has a chaotic Zoom with the stars of the excellent Eenie Meanie, Samara Weaving and Karl Glusman. [1:45:11 - 1:56:04 approx] Either side of that little lot, Chris is joined in the podbooth by Helen O'Hara and Harry Stainer to talk about the movies that bring them joy in times of darkness; discuss the week's movie news, in which they say a sad but fond farewell to the legendary Terence Stamp; and review Eddington, The Life Of Chuck, Eenie Meanie, and Sorry, Baby. Oh, and Harry comes up with a novel use for custard. Enjoy.
Happy Tuesday, Everyone! This week, I sat down with my new friend Rahul Kohli to chat, while on a break from filming Mike Flanagan's new show Carrie. In addition to co-starring with me on the new project, Rahul has found so many new fans as a heartthrob in Mike's other recent shows, including playing Owen in The Haunting of Bly Manor, Sheriff Hassan in Midnight Mass and Leo Usher in The Fall of The House of Usher. You may also know him from his roles as Ravi Chakrabarti in iZombie and Bri in The Life of Chuck, as well as his prolific video game voice work. We had a lot of fun talking about how he fell in love with movies and video games, while growing up as a South Asian kid in the UK and he found his way as an actor without a well-worn path to follow. This conversation really feels like two friends sitting down for coffee, getting real about the life of a working actor— from how to use social media, to embracing insecurity and learning to let go and trust your director. I feel much closer to Rahul after this conversation, and I think you will too! Be sure to stick around after our chat for the Hindsight, where my producer Jeph and I talk about the episode, share details about upcoming live shows and vent about an airplane nemesis! Time on Screen returns this week with an all new episode. In this episode, Zach Kazan and Kat Shoulders break down The Life of Chuck, the latest from Mike Flanagan, a favorite filmmaker among the Worn & Wound crew. The Life of Chuck is an adaptation of a Stephen King novella that is somewhat hard to describe. It follows the life of a single character through important stages of his life, with a story told in an extremely unconventional way, and is one of those movies that you'll want to discuss and dissect as soon as you get out of the theater. It's also a big left turn for Flanagan away from the horror genre, and feels like a much more personal statement. In this conversation, Zach and Kat break down the movie's structure and its key themes and scenes, and also rank their top three Mike Flanagan projects. They also talk about the importance of time as its portrayed in this movie, both in the way the story is told, and through a perfectly delivered Flanagan monologue that repurposes Carl Sagan's famous “Cosmic Calendar” principle. To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast on all major platforms including Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Spotify, and more. You can also find our RSS feed here. And if you like what you hear, then don't forget to leave us a review. If there's a question you want us to answer you can hit us up at info@wornandwound.com, and we'll put your question in the queue.

Forrest, Conan Neutron, Kristina Oakes and Zach Marsh talk about Mike Flanagan's The Life of Chuck. Starring Tom Hiddleston, Mia Sara, Jacob Tremblay, Karen Gillan, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Mark Hamill. Narrated by Nick Offerman. Based on the Stephen King Novella "The Life of Chuck" published in the 2020 anthology "If It Bleeds" The third Stephen King adaptation written and directed by Mike Flanagan after Gerald's Game and Dr. Sleep The Life of Chuck is a story in 3 parts in reverse chronology, each with a very different style and genre. Charles "Chuck" Krantz is an accountant with a secret passion for dance that he learns from his Bubbe (Mia Sara) and numbers that he learns from his Zaide (Mark Hamill) We watch Chuck deal with grief, love, loss, and eventually his own death at the age of 39. Though tragically short, Chuck's life contains multitudes. It is large. "39 great years. Thanks, Chuck."
We present our I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) Review!I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 2025 American slasher film directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sam Lansky from a story by Leah McKendrick and Robinson. It is the fourth installment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise and the sequel to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998).[a] The film stars Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, and Austin Nichols, with Freddie Prinze Jr., and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Brandy from the first two films, respectively, appear in cameos. The plot takes place 27 years after the Tower Bay murders, when another hook-wielding killer appears and begins targeting a group of friends one year after they covered up a car crash in which they supposedly killed someone.Plans for a fourth film in the franchise started in 2014, when Mike Flanagan and Jeff Howard signed on to write a reboot with no connection to the previous installments. However, this version ultimately fell through. Following the cancellation of the 2021 television series adaptation, the project was relaunched when Robinson pitched her version to Sony Pictures. The film was put into early development in February 2023, with producer Neal H. Moritz returning. Prinze Jr. and Hewitt were confirmed to be returning in 2024, with the new cast members joining throughout the year. Filming took place between October 2024 and March 2025 in New South Wales and Los Angeles.I Know What You Did Last Summer premiered at The United Theater on Broadway in Los Angeles on July 14, 2025, and was theatrically released by Sony Pictures Releasing in the United States on July 18. The film received mixed reviews from critics. It grossed $24.6 million worldwide.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59
A deaf and mute author, living in isolation, is visited at night by a masked predator threatening her life. Hush takes home invasion horror to new heights by pitting a masked killer up against a writer who is living in the woods alone and doesn't have the ability to hear or speak. Mike Flanagan, who has made a name for himself with several successful horror movies and tv shows, creates a tense atmosphere in this movie that continues to build over the duration of the film. What appears to be a hopeless situation is countered by the protagonist's inability to give up and be a worthy adversary. In this spoiler-filled deep dive into The Life of Chuck, I'm joined by therapist and former actor Charles McCaughan for a one-of-a-kind conversation. We explore Mike Flanagan's haunting and heartfelt adaptation of Stephen King's novella through a therapeutic lens—examining grief, memory, ego, joy, and the multitudes we all contain.Charles brings a unique perspective—not only as a healer who developed the transformational modality Psycho Energetic Transformation, but also as a former actor who understands the emotional layers embedded in performance. We unpack the film's reverse chronology, Chuck's lifelong emotional arc, and the hidden messages the universe (and our subconscious) might be sending us.Watch a 10-minute session demo with Charles: https://youtu.be/L7rnQhe40wAFull session available on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/posts/full-therapy-125813889Learn more about Charles's work: https://www.charlesmccaughan.com/More with Charles: https://youtu.be/jj9RekN_m6c

If you frequent Collider Ladies Night, you're well aware that I'm a big proponent of filmmaking families — frequent collaborators who stick together and also add new additions to the family every step of the way. Mike Flanagan's “Flanafamily” is a big one, and it's a topic that keeps popping up with Molly Gordon, who's recently found great success collaborating with close friends on films like Theater Camp and Oh, Hi. Yet another top-tier filmmaking family? The one James Gunn started and continues to thrive with, and that family has a member you're going to be seeing a whole of in the coming weeks, months and years. It's Mikaela Hoover. In celebration of the release of Superman, in which Hoover plays Daily Planet gossip columnist Cat Grant, she took the time to swing by the Collider Ladies Night studio and recap her journey to joining three of the biggest franchises of all time - DC, Marvel and, most recently, One Piece. It's a list of accomplishments that certainly can be traced back to Hoover's natural talent, but as we often discuss on Ladies Night, in film and television, finding someone who sees you and what you're capable of can be essential. Hoover found that in Gunn. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
In this review we witness the manifestation of miracles unfolding within an isolated island community. We examine Mike Flanagan's supernatural horror television series Midnight Mass.
It's nice....when things are just nice....We're a little late to the dance on this one but on this episode we dive into one of our favourite movies of the year with 'The Life of Chuck'.From the mind of Stephen King and the vision of Mike Flanagan; 'The Life of Chuck' is a profoundly magical story about the importance of living life and appreciating every minute of it that takes us through the life of one Charles Krantz (Tom Hiddleston) in three very distinct chapters.Low key one of our favourite movies of the year that people need to see, we had the chance to talk with the one and only Matthew Lillard who played a key role in how the story unfolds. We talked with him about working with Mike Flanagan, the philosophy of the story, how he's lived his life to the fullest and so very much more.'The Life of Chuck' is in theatres now....

In this episode, I discuss two of my latest big screen viewing experiences, specifically "The Life of Chuck" and "28 Years Later". Why do I refer to Mike Flanagan as a "gateway" horror director? Did '28 Years Later' match my expectations? When will Aaron Taylor-Johnson fans know justice? What's with all of the naked zombies? Tune in now to hear it all...
It's crossover chaos and comic book carnage on this week's episode of That Comic Podcast! We talk 28 Years Later and then dive right into the big news: Jon Bernthal is officially joining Tom Holland in Spider-Man: Brand New Day—yes, the Punisher is crashing the MCU party. We also break down Marvel's surprise fourth movie in 2028, because clearly “quality over quantity” was just a phase.Meanwhile, James Gunn is making headlines again—one moment he's hyping up Mike Flanagan's R-rated Clayface horror flick, and the next he's telling fans to get off Matt Reeves' nuts about The Batman Part II. And speaking of brutal cuts, we run through the long list of Marvel comic titles getting the axe.Plus: the Spider-Man '94 comic drama (and John Semper's spicy response), Kevin Smith writing a Green Arrow/Daredevil crossover (no, really), and more Marvel/DC madness than a crossover event can handle. Sean and Amanda have an in-depth conversation and unpack their very mixed feelings on a pair of two new releases coming this weekend. They start with Celine Song's ‘Materialists' and celebrate Song's wonderful writing while also exploring their inability to connect to Dakota Johnson's and Pedro Pascal's performances of the material (1:46). Then, they create their list of the top five movie love triangles of all time (45:10). Next, they discuss Mike Flanagan's newest Stephen King adaptation, ‘The Life of Chuck,' and explore why they think it will be such a divisive movie (53:57). Finally, Sean is joined by Flanagan to talk about his relationship to King, why he felt that this was the right time to make a shift away from horror, and how to tightrope walk the thin line between corniness and sincerity (1:21:01). Happy Tuesday, everyone! Don't be scared, but this week I'm talking with Horror Queen Kate Siegel! Along with her husband Mike Flanagan, Kate has helped to create some of the most terrifying films and TV in recent memory. I was blown away by Kate's performance as Maddie in Hush, which she also wrote. She also played Theodora Crain in Haunting of Hill House, Erin Greene in Midnight Mass and Camille L'Espanaye in The Fall of the House of Usher. She and Mike are releasing a new film, Life of Chuck, which is adapted from a Stephen King novel, but is a departure from the horror genre— I can't wait to go and check it out! Kate has found her niche with horror, but she's such a fantastic actor in everything she does, not to mention a great writer. This conversation also touches on motherhood, addiction and sobriety and the joys and challenges of collaborating creatively with your life partner. Be sure to stick around for the Hindsight this week, where my producer Jeph and I talk about the interview and answer some fan questions from the Mailsack! The Life of Chuck is based on Stephen King's novella of the same name from the If It Bleeds collection and is a story told in reverse featuring dancing, death, a haunted cupola, and the end of the world. You know, the basics for a good yarn.
Mike Flanagan's adaptation of The Life of Chuck starts hitting screens this weekend. It's about a lot of things: the end of the world, the impact a single person can have on the universe, the importance of math, and the joy of dancing. It's hard to explain what this movie is, but it is large and, much like the title character, contains multitudes.
Losers Randall Colburn, Michael Roffman, and Dan Caffrey head to Hollywood King again to discuss the latest developments in King's Dominion, specifically new trailers for Welcome to Derry and The Long Walk, a depressing quote from Stephen King, Mike Flanagan's Carrie, Emilio Estevez's Maximum Overdrive sequel idea, and more.
