James DuMont #4 Take a walk with me down Fascination Street as I chat with actor James DuMont for the FOURTH time! James has been on every other year; 2019, 2021, 2023, and now 2025. Obviously, we don't do the "how did you get from where you were to where you are" thing this time. Go back and check out his previous appearances for that. In this episode, we chat about the conclusion of HBO's hit series The Righteous Gemstones. Season 4 was the final season and was released not long ago. James played Chad on 20 episodes of the series, and James' real life son Kelton played Pontius Gemstone. James shares fun stories from the set, including some of the things he learned, some of the things he appreciated, and some of the things that he will miss from working with this amazing group of professionals. Next, we move onto a discussion about his new movie 'Unit 234', where he stared alongside the great Don Johnson. This was filmed during covid, and it is where James actually caught covid for the first time. So he explains what it was like to be 'trapped' in a 4-star hotel on the beach in The Cayman Islands. The DuMonts both recently made a change in management after 30 years, so I ask him all about why, and how it has been going since the change. Finally, we discuss James' other job. For more than a decade, James has been teaching actors how to properly film and submit self-taped auditions. For over fifteen years, James has himself been booking auditions via self-taped submissions. As a matter of fact, James has book well over a million dollars in acting jobs from self-tapes. He has over 2500 students across many countries and continents, and he gives a couple of tips to the Streetwalkers! Make sure you check out his 'On Camera Workouts' Instagram page and reach out to him if you would like to participate.

As the hosts - Joshua Noel, Kevin Schaeffer, Evan Garcia, and Will Rose - dissect various characters in 'The Righteous Gemstones', they examine the complexities of familial relationships within a megachurch setting, particularly focusing on Eli Gemstone and his children. Each character embodies different facets of religious hypocrisy, ambition, and the quest for redemption, mirroring the struggles faced by many in their own faith communities. The hosts draw parallels between their personal histories and the show's narrative arcs, illustrating how the characters' journeys resonate with their own experiences of growth, doubt, and the quest for authenticity in faith. The episode ultimately serves as a platform for discussing broader themes of accountability, integrity, and the influence of upbringing on one's spiritual path, inviting listeners to engage with both the humor and the underlying messages of the series. The dialogue culminates in an engaging exploration of the show's commentary on the nature of belief, identity, and the often conflicting motivations behind church leadership. The hosts reflect on their own church backgrounds, offering insights into how these experiences shape their understanding of the series. They critically assess the portrayal of megachurches in popular culture, acknowledging the dualities present in both the characters' lives and their own. The episode concludes with thought-provoking questions aimed at encouraging listeners to ponder their own faith journeys, such as the importance of scriptural engagement and the necessity of listening to diverse narratives within the Church. After four seasons of glorious absurdity, televangelist satire "The Righteous Gemstones" is wrapping things up—and it's as hilariously chaotic and surprisingly heartfelt as ever. Created by Danny McBride, the series follows the Gemstones, a wealthy televangelist family whose constant bickering is matched only by their love of greed, fame, and—occasionally—each other. The final season stars McBride, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Cassidy Freeman, Adam Devine, Tony Cavalero, and Walton Goggins and introduces new faces like Megan Mullally and Sean William Scott.READ MORE: The 75 Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2025Joining Bingeworthy for a hilarious farewell to the series is creator/star Danny McBride, alongside Cassidy Freeman, Adam Devine, and Tony Cavalero. 2/17 - Best of the Week The final year of my radio journey holds a special place in my heart, made even more poignant by the loss of my cherished friends, Carl Ruiz and Vic Henley. Amidst the chaos and challenges, we found endless moments of hilarity and camaraderie. Alongside Carl, Vic, and Sherrod Small, we shared unforgettable experiences both on and off the airwaves, our tight-knit bond shining through every episode. That year also marked Carl Ruiz's meteoric rise to stardom, inspiring me to launch the Opie Radio podcast with him. There's a stunning transformation that happens to Edi Patterson when she puts on the aggressively curly haired wig for her character on ‘The Righteous Gemstones.' “Something different happens to the makeup of my atoms, once I get Judy's hair on,” Patterson says in this week's episode. “Because I do really feel like she's a living person who's inside of me, and I just get to unleash her and turn it up.” Without the wig, the Groundlings alum is nearly unrecognizable—and her real-life persona is far less unhinged than the sex-crazed evangelical Christian she plays on ‘The Righteous Gemstones,' which just began its fourth and final season on HBO. Patterson, who also writes for ‘Righteous Gemstones,' discusses keeping the season premiere's massive cameo a secret, her alternative casting idea for that episode, getting “weird” with guest star Megan Mullally later in the season, and how Judy and her on-screen siblings—series creator Danny McBride and Adam Devine—have evolved over time. She also looks back on her very brief experience as a writer on ‘Saturday Night Live,' the shocking line she ad-libbed during her original audition with McBride for their previous show ‘Vice Principals,' and what it's really like to improvise opposite Larry David on ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.' Welcome, horror fans, to another spooky installment of *The Rotten Horror Picture Show*! Now, before we dive into the blood-soaked, mask-wearing madness, I have to admit—I'm a little… well, *disoriented* by the *Halloween* franchise at this point. So much so, I'm starting to wonder if *Michael Myers* himself is the one messing with our heads. Here's the deal: in this special episode, Clay and Amanda have decided to *revisit* their original coverage of *Halloween 2018*—which, to be fair, is an *excellent* choice, because that movie is a big deal in the *Halloween* timeline... I think. You see, it's the one where Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis) is back, fighting to survive after all these years. But wait—didn't they already fight back in *Halloween H20*? And wasn't there another Laurie vs. Michael showdown in *Resurrection*? But *Halloween 2018* ignores *those*, right? And now we're supposed to pretend *those* never happened? *But* isn't there also this new *continuity* in the mix—where *Halloween Kills* comes right after *Halloween 2018* but… *not* after *Halloween 2*? And then there's the *whole* thing about *Halloween Ends*, which is definitely the end, but… I'm pretty sure they said that about the last one too. So, anyway, Clay and Amanda are here to remind us how all this started by revisiting *Halloween 2018*. They're giving us the rundown before they drop their *Halloween Kills* episode on Patreon later this month. But first—please, someone, for the love of sanity—help me figure out which timeline we're in now. Is this the one with *Danny McBride*, or the one with *Busta Rhymes*? I guess we'll find out soon enough!Head over to www.patreon.com/thepenskyfile to listen to all the other Halloween episodes!
