Former Georgia beauty queen and beloved high school teacher Tara Grinstead vanished in 2005, leaving a community stunned and without answers for over a decade until Ryan Duke, a former student at the school she taught at, was arrested and charged with her murder. Just weeks later, Ryan's friend Bo Dukes was also arrested in connection to her disappearance. Both men claimed that they helped dispose of her body but blamed each other for the murder. When Ryan Duke stood trial, it would be up to a jury to determine who was telling the truth. This week's Court TV Podcast dives deeper into this cold case that drew national attention with an audio edition of our original series Accomplice to Murder. For more Court TV originals, click here.

This is a story of a woman who seemed to have everything, but in the end, she was unjustly left with nothing.

What else can be said about Pres Maxson that hasn't already been said? I asked myself this very question when his people woke me out of a sound sleep at 3:30 AM, and informed me that Pres was ready to come out of his self-imposed exile and begin doing press junkets for his latest musical venture. Of course I quickly agreed, not only because Pres is the second most important man in the Indianapolis music scene, but also because the sight of three men in black suits and sunglasses standing in your bedroom at 3:30 AM will make you agree to pretty much anything quickly. (Why Pres doesn't come up off the checkbook and buy his people phones, I have no idea.) Since it is Pres, however, preparations were made to ensure that his second appearance was a memorable one. I mean, after all, this was the guy who became our first co-host, our first guest-host, our first podcast game show host, and our first inter-state podcast host ... coming up with something new for him to do was going to be difficult. However, I have previously mentioned my burning desire to record a podcast in a bowling alley ... just for the ambiance. Special thanks to for unknowingly hosting us for the evening. You can listen to the Indy In-Tune Last FM station to hear more great music from our former guests. We regret to inform you that the great did in fact pass away back in 2007. Don't be like Pres and me. You should probably read . At the very least you'll understand what that song of his is about. Keep an eye out for our coming in late 2011. Pres' former band, the Bo Dukes, who contributed our fourth track, can be found . The video for the Katie Perry Kid that we allude to can be found . We recommend catching Pres with his acoustic duo, , when they play the , usually about once a month.
Every once in a while you've just got to change it up. One of the hardest things about doing this show, particularly when you're doing three and four shows a week as I was doing when this interview was recorded, is that you run the risk of losing your own energy, which then transfers down to the guests and subsequently the interview. Fortunately, Pres Maxson seems to have energy in abundance, and it was he who largely led the "off-the-wall" mood of this week's show. I just happily followed along. Pres is a recent immigrant to Indiana, coming to us -- like and before him -- from the bustling L.A. music scene. I've never really been to any venues in L.A., but if it's anything like those three groups describe, I'll just be glad I'm in Indiana. L.A. did, however, apparently give him a change to hone and refine his sense of humor and flair for showmanship, as evidenced by his music and this interview. Look for Pres to hopefully return in the future in the guest-host role if I have anything to say about it. Links referenced in the show: Pres Maxson can be found here: .
