Intro -Mike Welcome back to another episode of Let's Go Hunt. While the Anglo-American style was to use heavy artillery to control threatening bears, the vaqueros preferred to rope them from the back of a well-trained horse. This method of bear control required a great deal of skill and was a dying vaquero art. What can we learn from this? Eventual Ad Slot Personal Gear Chat and Updates: Mike First things first: Gideon warranty issue. I broke it!! Not on purpose! Military Ducks! Campsite, flock was 200 yards away. Put the stalk on em, low, rolilng. Klecker's holster held up amazingly. Didn't think about wind till it was prob too late. Slept so bad. Got about three hours and when I noticed it was getting light, got up to set decoys. Just when I was starting to fret (20 mins in) first flock came in. Found a downside to the Advocate: it fogged. That's probably fixable with some anti fog spray. Regardless, the mount on the 1187 allows use of the bead sight. Transitioned to the bead and dropped a drake Just about 40 mins later, another flock of four flew over and came in. Dropped one, then another. Wanna talk about the bird behavior I witnessed. Holy shit they're pilots. Went on a bit of a row. Chased the buffleheads around but they're wise to me. Found some mergs and took one down. All I hear is how bad they taste. So what do I do? Make an omelet. Honestly, it was incredible. Like a damn good steak omelet. I will happily shoot mergs again. First time ever, ended up with 3 packages of excess duck meat. Well, that was just disrespectful. Alex Pereira went out there at UFC 320 on Saturday with absolutely no regard whatsoever for Magomed Ankalaev. Bullied him. Dropped him. Pounded him out. Then did the “look at you now” hand gesture that is rapidly becoming Pereira's touchdown dance. He clowned Ankalaev from start to finish, is what he did. Clowned him. So, now the Chama Era is back in the light heavyweight division, and the only remaining question is whether there's anything meaningful left for Pereira to do there. Another fight with Jiri Prochazka (who also got a win at 320)? Carlos Ulberg (who got a win the weekend before)? Or does Pereira start looking up the ladder at heavyweight? Jones? Aspinall? Gane? Anything seems possible. Plus, Cory Sandhagen was game as hell. He was well prepared. He was well coached. He just couldn't stop Merab Dvalishvili. Learn more about your ad choices. In our last solo review before the finale, Frank breaks down Peacemaker Season 2, Episode 7, “Like a Thief in the Night.” We cover how the Earth X arc reframes the team's choices, why Adebayo finally steps from reactive to proactive, the surprising nuance to Augie in a fascist world, and how Vigilante's sacrifice resets the board for the finale. We also talk about the episode's strongest character beats, where the mechanics show, and why John Cena's work this season stands out as his best to date. untitled Timestamps and Topics 00:00 Intro, episode plan, and what's coming for the finale 00:44 Dropped into Earth X and the Argus escape 01:09 Adebayo and Judo Master connect, seeing the world for what it is 03:06 Team regroups with two Vigilantes, plans the house infiltration 04:16 A different Augie in a different world, and what that says about DCU Augie 06:15 Chris vs. the past he can't outrun 07:14 Keith's near-death, Chris's breaking point, and a choice with consequences 08:27 The portal sequence, who stays behind, and what it sets up 09:10 John Cena's leap from Season 1 to now 09:52 What worked: real consequences, character-first storytelling, grounded stakes 15:44 Where it stumbles: mechanical connectors and limited Earth X texture 17:26 Performance shoutouts: Holland, Brooks, and scene craft 18:42 Why this is a perfect penultimate chapter and what we want from the finale Key Takeaways Earth X is a mirror, not a gimmick. The episode uses the setting to highlight privilege, hate, and willful blindness, pushing Chris to confront what he doesn't see until it's too late. Adebayo steps up. She's the glue when she's active, not reactive. This is her most decisive episode of the season, rallying the team and reframing her personal accountability. Augie's complexity lands. In a world that validates him, Augie isn't “better,” but he's different. That contrast sheds light on how alienation hardened DCU Augie. Consequences feel real. Death is on the table, choices cost something, and quiet character beats carry more weight than the explosions around them. Cena levels up. The grief and surrender scenes rank among the season's best acting, selling Chris as a broken man trying to do one right thing. Minor stumbles. A few transitions feel mechanical and Earth X's texture could use more on-screen shading to heighten anxiety and stakes. Quotes “This episode is character first, even when the world is exploding around them.” “Adebayo works best when she's leading, not reacting.” “Augie isn't redeemed here, he's contextualized. The world that embraced him made a different monster.” “Cena's performance turns Chris into a man who can finally look his guilt in the eye.” Call to Action If you're enjoying these breakdowns, follow and subscribe, drop us a rating and review, and share the episode with a friend using #GeekFreaksPodcast. Bad Bunny—Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio—is once again at the epicenter of music and pop culture headlines as his name electrifies both the music world and social media feeds this week. The big news: Bad Bunny is officially set to headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show in Santa Clara, California, on February 8, 2026. Social platforms erupted after his announcement, with TikTok and Instagram instantly trending with clips from his new halftime promo, where he stands atop a football goal post, vibing to his own tracks. Press outlets explain that Bad Bunny has dedicated the upcoming performance not just to himself, but to his people, declaring, “This is for my people, my culture, and our history—let your abuela know, we will be the Halftime Show of the Super Bowl.”The choice of Bad Bunny, acclaimed for breaking language barriers and championing Latin and queer identity, sparked intense debate on platforms like X and YouTube. According to nss sports and The Shade Room, the artist's selection is seen by many as a cultural milestone for the Latin community, given that he'll likely perform in Spanish and infuse the show with Puerto Rican and broader Latino culture. However, conservative pundits and figures tied to the Trump campaign have publicly criticized the move, labeling Bad Bunny a political lightning rod due to his outspoken stances on immigration and social justice. MAGA-aligned voices like Corey Lewandowski and others described the NFL's decision as a “middle finger to MAGA,” emphasizing how contentious polarization remains around visible Latino public figures.Bad Bunny himself has recently chosen not to bring his current tour to the U.S., citing ongoing worries about harsh immigration enforcement under current federal policy. On TikTok, he explained that he and his team opted out of a stateside tour because of fears about potential ICE raids, directly referencing increased immigration actions targeting event venues. These issues intersect sharply with the news that ICE has just revealed plans for a substantial presence at the 2026 Super Bowl, which will heighten scrutiny and concern regarding how immigration policy plays out at high-profile cultural events.Musically, fans are still catching waves from his newly released album “Debí Tirar Más Fotos.” Dropped at the start of this year, the album blends reggaeton, electronic dance, and genres deeply rooted in Puerto Rican tradition. It's his most introspective record to date, exploring themes like nostalgia, community, and Puerto Rico's complex relationship with the U.S. Singles like “El Clúb” and “Pitorro de Coco” have generated millions of streams, with “DTMF” topping Billboard's Global 200 chart. Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Variety have all celebrated the project for its raw emotional power, cultural honesty, and inventive sound—a personal and political letter to the island and diaspora Bad Bunny loves. His massive San Juan residency wrapped up last month and drew half a million attendees, with the local economic impact estimated at $700 million. This summer's shows featured surprise appearances from global sports and music figures, reinforcing Bad Bunny's cross-cultural clout. His world tour is kicking off in Latin America, Europe, and Asia, with no current plans to revisit the U.S.—a move widely interpreted as both personal protection and pointed commentary. He's also racking up film and ad credits, including a comic cameo in Adam Sandler's “Happy Gilmore 2,” while his “Most Wanted Tour” ranked among the year's highest-grossing music events—over $210 million in receipts. For now, all eyes are turning toward the Super Bowl, where Bad Bunny's halftime show is already being called a defining moment for Latino music in American pop culture.Thank you for tuning in. Years of complaints from tenants has led to multiple lawsuits against the developers behind Lux Living, Asprient Properties and STL CityWide. But federal fraud charges looming over Sid Chakraverty, his brother, Vic Alston, and their accountant, Shijing “Poppy” Cao were abruptly dropped this summer. On this episode of the Legal Roundtable, our panel of expert attorneys discuss the case, which raises questions about the definition of fraud, the unusual personal intervention of U.S. Attorney Thomas Albus, and the role of Brad Bondi, the brother of U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi. The panel also discusses whether a public referendum could throw a wrench in Missouri Republicans' efforts to redraw state congressional districts, and more.
This week, we're welcoming some feminine energy to the mic with special guest Leah Naomi Singman — a Michigan-based musician, mother, and longtime friend of Sara J's.In this heartfelt and inspiring conversation, Leah opens up about navigating the male-dominated music industry, transforming life experiences into creative purpose, and what we hope our children learn by watching us chase our dreams. We dive into the beauty of live music communities, her deep love for music, and the magical presence of her grandmother's piano — shipped all the way from Argentina — that sat quietly in the living room throughout her childhood.Leah shares the surprising influence of the legendary Argentine hippie band Sui Generis, and how a Carole King cartoon musical left a lasting impression. From writing her first song at age eight, to picking up a guitar for the first time at Shabbat dinner, not allowing a janky guitar from a flea market to discourage her and learning classical guitar — her musical journey is as unconventional as it is inspiring. With her debut album set to release this November, Leah talks about the creative process, the serendipitous way she met her producer, and the multi-instrumentalist collaborators bringing her songs to life.

Well, there was no doubt who the most anticipated band was at Louder Than Life thanks to the Louder Than Life app. According to Blunt Magazine, over 21,000 people had added the band's Friday (Sept. 19) performance to their weekend Louder Than Life schedule ahead of the music weekend. By comparison, only 11,000 has scheduled themselves to see Slayer, 17,000 were up for Deftones and 17,000-plus were reminding themselves to check out Bring Me the Horizon. The band's set was pretty standard to what they have been playing at past shows. However, one interesting moment came during their final song of their 12-song performance. The Louder Than Life set reportedly was the first time lead singer Vessel had played guitar on "Thread the Needle."(Loudwire) Hosted by:Luke = https://bsky.app/profile/rockednet.bsky.socialAlex = https://bsky.app/profile/voiceofalex.bsky.socialRowan = https://bsky.app/profile/rowbuck01.bsky.social SLEEP TOKEN Crowd Surfers Intentionally Dropped | The Podcast That Rocked

President Trump's announcement Friday of a $100,000 dollar fee for H-1B visas has thrown the tech world – and communities of immigrants – into states of confusion and concern. Many employers, working with the scant information from the president, warned traveling workers to scramble back to the US immediately, before the administration later clarified that the fees wouldn't apply to existing visa holders. But it's still far from clear what the new rules mean for foreign workers and companies. We'll talk about the new changes to H-1B visas, how communities and companies are responding and what it means for the future of tech hiring. Guests: Tanay Gokhale, independent journalist based in Oakland; formerly the community reporter at India Currents and continues to write for them on a freelance basis Pranav Dixit, Meta correspondent covering Trump's H-1B visa fee, Business Insider Emily Neumann, immigration attorney, Reddy Neumann Brown PC Learn more about your ad choices. Top Stories for September 23rd Publish Date: September 23rd From The BG AD Group Studio, Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Tuesday, September 23rd and Happy Birthday to Ray Charles I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by KIA Mall of Georgia Gwinnett's Public Safety Festival set for Sept. 27 Duluth native Riona Harris returns to Gas South Arena as part of Disney On Ice's 'Jump In!' show Immigration board orders Mario Guevara's deportation All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen and subscribe! Break 1: Kia MOG STORY 1: Gwinnett's Public Safety Festival set for Sept. 27 So, here’s the deal: the 16th annual Public Safety Fall Festival is happening September 27, and honestly, it sounds like a blast. Coolray Field’s the spot—10 a.m. to 2 p.m., if you’re marking your calendar. It’s not just another festival. It’s a chance to actually meet the folks who keep Gwinnett running—police, fire, EMS, even the sheriff’s office. Ever wanted to climb inside a SWAT truck? Or see a fire engine up close? Yeah, they’ve got that. Oh, and the Peach State Rodeo is back! Cops on motorcycles doing wild stunts? Yes, please. Food trucks, face painting, giveaways—what’s not to love? STORY 2: Duluth native Riona Harris returns to Gas South Arena as part of Disney On Ice's 'Jump In!' show Riona Harris is coming home. Duluth’s own, now 24, is about to skate onto the Gas South Arena stage—not as a kid at halftime, but as a pro. Disney on Ice’s “Jump In!” kicks off Thursday, Sept. 25, and she’s in it. Eight shows. Big deal? Oh, absolutely. Riona’s been skating since she was 8, dreaming of this moment since a Disney show she saw with her mom. Now? She’s living it. Polar bears, flying donkeys, Moana villagers—she’s all in. Catch her while you can. STORY 3: Immigration board orders Mario Guevara's deportation Mario Guevara’s life is hanging by a thread. A journalist, a father, a Gwinnett County resident—he’s now sitting in an ICE detention center, facing deportation to El Salvador. Why? For doing his job. For reporting on immigration raids. He’s been in custody since June, after being arrested while covering a protest. Charges? Dropped. But ICE swooped in, digging up a 13-year-old immigration case. His lawyers say he’s here legally, on a work permit, with a path to residency. ICE says otherwise. The ACLU calls it retaliation. Journalism groups agree. And now? He could be deported any day. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: Ingles Markets STORY 4: It's that time again — Ghost Tours back in Lawrenceville Downtown Lawrenceville’s about to get spooky—like, lanterns, ghosts, and bawdy songs kind of spooky. Aurora Theatre’s Haunted Happenings 2025 kicks off Sept. 19 and runs through Nov. 1, and honestly? There’s something for everyone. The Ghost Tour? A 90-minute stroll through the historic Square, packed with eerie tales and paranormal vibes. Feeling braver? The Haunted Cemetery Tour dives into one of the Southeast’s oldest graveyards—chilling stories included. For the grown-ups, there’s Brews & Boos (Oct. 3–30). Drinks, bawdy humor, and haunted history. Enough said. Oh, and don’t miss the Halloween Magic Show (Oct. 18) or the hilariously ridiculous 0.5K Fun Run (Oct. 11). STORY 5: Lawmakers urged to expedite move to new voting system Lawmakers looking to shake up Georgia’s voting system got an earful Thursday. The message? Hurry up—and don’t forget the money. Here’s the deal: a new law, pushed by Republicans, bans the QR codes used by voting machines to record votes. Starting July 1, poll workers need a new system. But what is it? No one knows yet. And, surprise, there’s no funding either. Election officials are stressed. Meanwhile, experts like UC Berkeley’s Philip Stark are calling for hand-marked ballots—cheaper, safer, and easier to audit. Georgia’s current system? Touchscreens, QR codes, and digital records. Stark says it’s flawed. Public opinion? All over the place. Some trust the system, others don’t. One speaker even forgot her point after four hours of debate. Next hearing? Oct. 2 in Covington. Stay tuned. STORY 6: Real work to find new GCPS superintendent begins The hunt for Gwinnett County’s next superintendent is in full swing, and, wow, it’s a process. Alma Advisory Group, the firm leading the search, says they’re listening—like, really listening. There’s a survey online (already 1,400+ responses), and community meetings are happening all over. They’re casual, no-pressure events with translators, childcare, and even a “come late, it’s fine” vibe. People are showing up, sharing what they want: honesty, transparency, someone who can unite a divided board. The job’s huge. Gwinnett’s the biggest, most diverse district in Georgia. No pressure, right? STORY 7: SEC Pipeline: Gwinnett Sending 7 Seniors to Top Softball Conference Every October, when the Georgia state softball tournaments roll into Columbus, Gwinnett County shows up—loud and proud. It’s not just a presence; it’s dominance. Last year? Five of the eight Class 6A teams were from Gwinnett. Add in private schools and other classifications, and the numbers are staggering. And it’s not just state titles. Gwinnett’s pipeline to the SEC is unreal. Nine former players are already on SEC rosters, and next year? Seven more seniors are heading to powerhouse programs like LSU, Florida, and Texas A&M. The county’s investment in youth sports, the coaching, the rivalries—it’s all created a softball factory. And now, the SEC is reaping the rewards. We’ll have closing comments after this. Break 4: Ingles Markets Signoff – Thanks again for hanging out with us on today’s Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast.
