This week our guest was Governor Andy Beshear, who just wrapped up the first year of his Governorship.  He talked to us about deciding to run for office, both for Attorney General and later for Governor, he looked back on his approach to COVID-19, he spoke to us about the investigation into Breonna Taylor's killing, and we touched out his relationship to the legislature.  That's a lot of topics, and we were thrilled to have the chance to speak with him. Joining us for the bulk of the show prior to the interview is Forward Kentucky publisher Bruce Maples, who discussed the legislative session with Robert and Jazmin.  We spoke about the bills that have already passed, the bills making their way through the legislature, the 2021 budget, and the GOP's impeachment committee. Also addressed in this episode are COVID-19 and the "Patriot Rally" at the Capitol.

This week, we welcome Forward Kentucky publisher Bruce Maples to the show!  We are going to be partnering with Forward Kentucky more closely in the coming weeks and to kick off our partnership, we welcomed Bruce to talk about his site and how it serves Kentucky. Before that, we talked through a bit of news -- about a hate crimes bill being prefiled and an update about a Jim Justice owned mine in Eastern Kentucky -- and then we cover election results.  The results weren't quite what Democrats hoped for, and we talked through exactly what happened.

It was a record-breaking week for Democrats in Kentucky – more people are running for office as Dems than ever before! In this week's show, we talk with three people involved in recruiting candidates: KDP executive director Mary Nishimuta, and political activists Anna Whites and Sellus Wilder. We also speak with two of those candidates, Cathy Carter and Tina Bojanowski, on why THEY decided to run. And finally, Bruce Maples has a few thoughts on how this all happened, and the principal it revealed that we all need to remember.
