A director, cinematographer, and producer known for his work on the first six "SAW" movies, "Hellraiser: Revelations", "The Gravedancers", "Skinwalkers", "2:13", "Pawn", dozens of episodes of MTV Cribs and so much more... my guest on Episode 247 is David A. Armstrong. I reached out to him on q whim after watching the first "SAW" movie for the first time in a while. not expecting to even hear back. We exchanged numbers and hit it off with a regular phone call then scheduled this episode. We go into a lot here. Behind the scenes of the "SAW" movies, especially the first one. Between the restricted, relatively small budget, timing and logistics of the film, it was a small miracle that it was even made. We talk MTV Cribs, his directorial debut working with Ray Liotta on "Pawn", and the reasoning behind the making of "Hellraiser: Revelations". A very cool look behind the scenes and a bunch of banter. It was an honor to speak with him. I hope you enjoy. Respect. Movies I Love That No One Talks About

Cinematographer and director David A. Armstrong (the SAW franchise) joins the show to talk about maybe the Hall of Fame cinematography movie of all time, CHILDREN OF MEN. Directed by Alfonso Cuaron (GRAVITY, ROMA), starring Clive Owen in maybe his best performance, with great supporting turns by Michael Caine, Julianne Moore, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. This stunning movie, incredibly, was not nominated for Best Picture or Best Director, and made only 35M in the United States. David helps me understand the sheer difficulty of achieving what Alfonso and his team did with this staggering film and drops some cool behind the scenes knowledge about shooting SAW. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/dan-benamor/support
