Guest: Rafa Conde — Founder & CEO of Man of War, former DEA/Narcotics/SWAT officer, best-selling author, host of the Men of War podcast (35M+ downloads), elite leadership coach, and multimillion-dollar entrepreneur. Early Hustle & Lessons: Rafa's first money came washing cars at age 11, developing a bias for action, self-reliance, and learning to execute before overthinking or overplanning. Early entrepreneurship shaped his long-term drive to “just do it” — a theme he now instills in men seeking discipline and legacy. Wall Street to Law Enforcement: Spent 12 years on Wall Street, managing nearly $1B in assets, establishing himself as a high-producer and eventually running his own branch. Left for a greater sense of purpose, becoming a police officer at age 32 in one of the nation's most violent cities, later working narcotics, SWAT, and ultimately as a DEA task force officer. Rafa describes giving up material wealth and status and embracing “starting from scratch” as crucial for true growth and reinvention. Law Enforcement, Humility, & Adversity: Made his mark through work ethic and results—leading felony arrests and serving in specialized units (including undercover work and federal task force roles). Learned from major setbacks: lost home, cars, and income in the transition, but rebuilt through tactical training contracts and martial arts instruction, showing lasting resilience and adaptability. Reinvention: Founding Man of War: Later transitioned to building Man of War—a movement and business designed to restore “the warrior mindset” and healthy masculinity through high-impact events, masterminds, and coaching. His podcast "Men of War" surpassed 35 million downloads by championing direct, honest conversations about discipline, code, and male brotherhood in today's world. Philosophy on Masculinity & Leadership: Key problem: Modern men have grown soft, seeking comfort and avoiding adversity; true growth requires struggle, competition, and camaraderie. Emphasizes leading by example—“If you can't lead yourself, don't expect to lead anyone else.” Rejects “false leadership” based on rank—respect must be earned by character, resilience, and the courage to do hard things. Recommends men start with competition (e.g., martial arts) and purposely place themselves in uncomfortable situations to develop confidence, grit, and self-mastery. Programs, Reach, & What's Next: Man of War now provides elite events (“Crucible”), global masterminds (“House of Kings”), and a fast-growing father-son program (“Odyssey”), expanding across the US, Latin America, Europe, and beyond. Rafa continues to consult for top companies and help men build modern legacies based on strength, discipline, and honor. Connect with Rafa Conde & Man of War: Website: https://www.rafajconde.com/

CASEY'S GENERAL STORES, INC.At last year's annual meeting in August, shareholders were asked YES or NO on CEO Darren Robelez's pay plan. To help them make a decision on the pay practices they had information like the ratio of the annual total compensation of Casey's General Stores CEO to that of its median employee for the 2024 fiscal year, commonly known as the CEO Pay Ratio. Let's begin the quiz there:According to the company's SEC filing, at what point in the fiscal year 2024 did CEO Darren earn the compensation of his company's median employee?12:35:33 PM on January 1st, the first day of the work year, meaning his pay CEO pay ratio was 579:1Additionally, the CEO's target equity award was $6.7M. In the worst case scenario where every single peer company outperformed Casey's General Stores in terms of total shareholder return, how much equity could the CEO receive?$5,025,000, reflecting a TSR Modifier of -25%.Accordingly, based in part on the information you have just learned, what percentage of Casey's shareholders voted against his pay practices?2%Bonus question: According to the company's 2025 SEC filing, at what point in the fiscal year 2025 did CEO Darren earn the compensation of his company's median employee? Remember, it was 12:35:33 PM on January 1st, the first day of the work year.12:32:05 PM on January 1st, the first day of the work year: 3 minutes and 28 seconds earlier. The financial toll is estimated to be in the billions of dollars. Key sectors affected include:Aviation: Major airlines like Delta, United, and American Airlines grounded thousands of flights, disrupting travel for millions and costing airlines hundreds of millions of dollars.Healthcare: Access to electronic health records was hindered, leading to the cancellation of surgeries and appointments. This disruption posed a direct risk to patient care and safety.Financial Services: Banks and financial institutions faced outages that affected everything from ATM services to online banking and stock trading. This not only resulted in financial losses but also eroded consumer confidence.Government and Emergency Services: The outage impacted various government agencies and even emergency services in some areas, highlighting a significant threat to public safety and national security. For Mr. Kurtz, the amount for fiscal 2025 also includes approximately (i) $104,279 for costs related to personal security for Mr. Kurtz and his family at his residences and (ii) $898,426 for costs related to personal usage of private aircraft. As part of our sales and marketing activities, we sponsor a CrowdStrike-branded professional racing car, which Mr. Kurtz drives in some races at no incremental cost to us and in lieu of us hiring a professional driver. In this episode, we speak with Dor Eligula, co-founder and Chief Business Development Officer at Bridgewise. Dor's story doesn't follow the usual tech-founder script. He didn't come from a coding bootcamp, a combat unit, or a fintech background. He started with a PlayStation controller. As one of Israel's first-ever professional gamers - crowned a three-time national FIFA champion with his twin brother - Dor learned early how to blend focus, competition, and conviction. That same drive would later power him through a very different arena: AI-driven fintech. Dor went on to co-found Bridgewise, a platform that delivers AI-generated investment research to banks and stock exchanges across 15+ countries. The company has raised $35M, operates in four markets, and serves institutions like Nasdaq, eToro, and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. “Some of our investors, in the early beginning, said, ‘You guys are crazy if you believe you are going to be successful in Japan.' We told them, ‘We'll prove you wrong.' And we are doing it as we speak.” This conversation is about entrepreneurship beyond formulas: how unconventional beginnings, deep self-belief, and a strong sense of impact can fuel global scale. In this conversation, we explore: From pro gamer to tech founder. Dor shares how his early years as a top FIFA player - competing nationally with his twin brother - shaped his competitive edge and drive to excel, long before he stepped into the world of tech. “If you do it, win. Be good at this.” Taking extreme steps toward big goals. He shares why successful founders need to find internal motivation strong enough to justify the risks. “Every person, in order to achieve extraordinary achievements, needs to find the reasoning inside themselves to take extreme steps.” Balancing personal and professional identity. Finding deep satisfaction in the personal moments, like when his mother finally saw her son's product in a national TV ad. “She said, ‘Now I understand what you guys do.' It was maybe one of the biggest moments of joy in my life.” The role of connections, partners, and persistence. Beyond luck, his path was shaped by the ability to identify and build with the right people at the right time. Why success is about more than money. To Dor, his startup is about building something that creates real, positive impact. “I want to create a story in Bridgewise that is a story of success, a story of good impact.” This episode is for anyone questioning whether their background is “right” for the startup world - and for anyone who needs a push to “just do it”

Show Notes with links:Following catastrophic flooding, Toyota is stepping up big for its home state, pledging over $600,000 in aid to support the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund and various on-the-ground recovery efforts.TMNA is joining forces with Toyota Financial Services, Gulf States Toyota, Southeast Toyota, and dealers nationwide. On top of the $600K, TMNA will match contributions up to $10,000 for eligible Toyota and Lexus dealers donating to flood relief charities and will double all U.S. team member contributions directed to disaster relief.Relief includes financial assistance, donation drives, and payment relief for impacted customers.“When disasters like this occur, it's important to help our neighbors and communities in their time of need,” said TMNA CEO Ted Ogawa.Redwood Materials, led by former Tesla co-founder JB Straubel, is giving EV batteries a second life—this time fueling the AI revolution with renewable power. In the Nevada desert, Redwood built a 12 MW/63 MWh microgrid from 792 repurposed EV battery packs from automakers like Toyota, GM, and VW, which is enough to power 4,000 homes continuously for about 5 hours. The system powers an AI data center using only a 33-acre solar array—no grid connection, no permits, no backup generators. With AI data centers projected to consume 12% of U.S. electricity by 2028, second-life batteries are gaining traction as scalable, fast-to-deploy storage.Redwood expects to deliver over 5 GWh of repurposed storage capacity in the next 12 months.“You can deploy this very fast,” said Straubel. “We'll absolutely see much larger deployments of this.”(Since they are powering an ai data center…speaking of ai)A new wave of AI voice cloning fraud has hit an alarming milestone: impersonating a U.S. Secretary of State. AFP editors Crystal Graham and Chris Graham have been hard at work this week tracking down the details of three ongoing controversies involving the Augusta County Sheriff's Office. In our Friday podcast, #TeamAFP breaks down: Augusta County: Family of man who died in police custody wants answers The family of a Staunton man who died in the back of an Augusta County Sheriff's Office patrol car on May 5 is trying to get answers. “There is real injustice here, and I truly feel like Stefan was assaulted to the point of his death,” Wade Gerencser, the brother of Stefan Gerencser, 39, wrote on social media, in a post brought to our attention by a family friend, Gary Bone, who served in the Marine Corps with the Gerencser brothers. Former deputy files $5.35M suit against Augusta County sheriff over forced resignation The $5.35 million federal civil rights lawsuit filed against Augusta County Sheriff Donald Smith that is making news today might need to be taken with a grain of salt. The reason I'm starting there: the allegations in the suit, Reynolds v. Smith, filed in the Harrisonburg Division of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia, filed on behalf of a former sheriff's deputy, Dennis Reynolds, were first peddled to me in 2023 by people who I know to be sworn political enemies of Smith, whose original sin was running for sheriff in 2015 against the handpicked candidate of the local political machine, and then winning. Augusta County sheriff reprimands Black deputy over lighthearted TikTok Augusta County Sheriff Donald Smith still hasn't commented on the lawsuit alleging that he sexually harassed a former male employee, but he found time on Thursday to publicly reprimand a Black deputy for comments she made on a TikTok video. In case you're wondering, yes, this was another instance of your sheriff letting himself get played on a public stage.
You're still optimizing for Google? That's cute… Marcus Sheridan, author of They Ask, You Answer, joins us for a high-energy episode, he joins host Stephanie Postles to break down why the playbook most B2B marketers are still running is dangerously outdated. They dive deep into the collapse of traditional SEO, the rise of AI-generated answers, and why brands that aren't building trust through video, transparency, and self-service tools are already falling behind. Marcus shares tactical examples from the likes of Liquid Death, Shasta Pools, and his own viral pool pricing content that generated $35M+ in sales. He also drops a bold prediction: your YouTube channel will soon matter more than your website. Whether you're a CMO tired of playing it safe or a marketer trying to sell bold ideas up the chain, this episode is your permission slip to think (and market) differently. Shoot us a Text.Episode #1026: California dealers are taking legal action against Scout Motors over its direct-sales model. Elon Musk plans to scale back his government role amid Tesla's slumping sales. And new code reveals OpenAI may soon integrate Shopify directly into ChatGPT, turning the AI into a full retail assistant. The California New Car Dealers Association is going to court over Scout Motors' retail strategy, saying the VW-owned startup is sidestepping franchise laws and undercutting the state's dealer network.Dealers claim Scout violates California Vehicle Code Section 11713.3, which bars automakers from bypassing franchised dealers if the brand is affiliated with an existing franchise network.A 2024 amendment clarifies that new EV brands under a legacy OEM must sell through franchised dealers if they share ownership.CNCDA argues that VW can't legally claim Scout is “independent” when it's wholly owned by Volkswagen AG.The association says VW dealers are being unfairly excluded from selling Scout's high-demand electric SUVs and pickups, and the lawsuit seeks over $35M in fines, plus a full sales halt and deposit freeze in California.“Illegal competition will harm not only dealers but also the communities and car buyers that they serve,” said CNCDA President Brian Maas.Elon Musk says he'll scale back his government work next month and refocus on Tesla, where sales are dropping, margins are thinning, and investors are restless.Musk says the “slog” of setting up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is mostly done, but still plans to spend 40% of his time on it.Tesla stock jumped 5.5% after Musk's remarks on an earnings call; shares are still down nearly 50% from their December peak.Tesla's Q1 revenue missed estimates at $19.34B, with auto revenue down 20% and net profit down 71%.Musk reiterated support for lower tariffs but acknowledged Tesla isn't immune to "macro demand for cars," noting that economic uncertainty leads consumers to "pause on doing a major capital purchase like a car."Tesla is on track for a mid-2025 launch of an affordable EV and a June debut of its Austin-based robotaxi fleet.OpenAI is setting the stage for ChatGPT to become a full-fledged shopping assistant, as new code hints at a direct integration with Shopify that could streamline the entire purchase journey—from query to checkout.Code found in ChatGPT's public web assets includes tags like “buy_now” and “shopify_checkout_url,” suggesting native shopping support. If confirmed, this would allow users to move from query to checkout in seconds—no affiliate links, just direct Shopify-powered transactions.OpenAI's move mirrors Microsoft's April launch of the Copilot Merchant Program, which embeds shopping directly into the AI experience.Join Paul J Daly and Kyle Mountsier every morning for the Automotive State of the Union podcast as they connect the dots across car dealerships, retail trends, emerging tech like AI, and cultural shifts—bringing clarity, speed, and people-first insight to automotive leaders navigating a rapidly changing industry.Get the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/

To buy wolfie a Coffee Click Here: https://buymeacoffee.com/forestfantv Join us on Forest Fan TV as we dive into the latest transfer buzz surrounding the Reds ahead of the summer window. Our top story focuses on Greek striker Vangelis Pavlidis, who's been lighting up the Portuguese league with Benfica. With an impressive goal-scoring record this season, Pavlidis has caught Forest's eye, but his hefty €80M release clause might be a stretch. Could the Greek connection with Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis play a role in making this dream move a reality? We break down the chances, his fit in Nuno's system, and whether Forest could negotiate a deal below that blockbuster price tag. Drop your thoughts in the comments – is Pavlidis the answer to our striker search? In our second story, we're talking about Como's red-hot winger Assane Diao, who's turning heads in Serie A just months after his January move from Real Betis. The 19-year-old Senegalese star has already notched 8 goals and 4 assists, drawing interest from heavyweights like Manchester United and Juventus. With a reported £35M price tag, Forest face stiff competition to land this exciting talent, but his pace and flair could be a game-changer for the Reds. In this episode, Mary Sullivan, co-founder of Sweet but Fearless, talks with Nikki Nash, Investor, Entrepreneur, and Author, about the power of taking shots and making bold moves. She shares how she learned to take a leap of faith—not just in her career but in building her personal brand. Because let's be real, success isn't just about what you do at work; it's about who you are and how you position yourself. Nikki dives into why relationship-building is key—people need to know you, not just your team. Visibility matters, and if no one knows what you bring to the table, opportunities can pass you by. She also drops some serious wisdom on money-making as a skill and how success isn't random—it's strategic. One of her most powerful tips? Your calendar should reflect your goals.
