He's already been named "One to Watch” by Taste of Country, The Boot & Sounds Like Nashville. Stepping off the highs of a pre-pandemic 108-stop radio tour and an extensive, high-energy touring schedule spanning 45 states and 3 continents, the Washington native settled into his home studio just outside of Nashville, TN to begin recording what would become his next album. From artist to songwriter and multi-instrumentalist to producer, Jakobsen has always been one to do things his own way and into his new album Set Fire to the Night, he continues to prove himself as the outside thinker he strives to be. Set Fire to the Night is a bounding step into the climate of todays society, but with a positive outlook on the present times and how you have the power to remain in control of your own tomorrows. It's a theme you'll find engrained throughout the entirety of it's track listing. Between the opening jangly guitars of “Beautiful” and the silver lining, state of mind lyrics found in “Don't Ya Think?” there's a radiating energy that shines through. Songs like “Get Back” and “Six” only prove to solidify the country-rockers stadium-like qualities and rhythmic flow that all comes to a cusp with the closing track “Into the Light”
Dylan hails from the state of Washington in the Pacific Northwest and grew up on rock & roll and the artists of the area. So how did he get into country music? It ties in to songwriting. Learn more about Dylan, what he did during the pandemic that was a little risky and of course about THE beard. You'll also get to hear a couple of songs off his latest album Set Fire to the Night.

Fun interview with Country Artist Dylan Jakobsen. We chat about his new album, his traveling stories, and what defines a Dylan Jakobsen song. Website: https://www.dylanjakobsen.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DylanJakobsenMusic/ Dylan Jakobsen isn’t your typical country artist. He didn’t grow up on a farm & he doesn’t drink alcohol. His love of country music stemmed from artists like Church, Stapleton & Petty whose lyrics helped him find his voice as a writer and shape his career. “I don’t want to be just another one of many. I’m here to prove that this is where I’m supposed to be.” Though you won’t see him onstage without his acoustic, Dylan has spent the last 2 decades learning all the instruments you hear throughout his music. His first album [From Where I Began] was a testament to that strong work ethic when the release garnered him his first Country Breakout Top 50 single [Silverado] as an independent artist. Since then, Dylan was named “One of 10 New Country Artists to Watch” by The Boot, has toured the US, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia, and been a support artist on dates with Eli Young Band, Cody Johnson, Aaron Watson, LOCASH, Chase Rice, Drake White & more. His newest release [I AM] walks you through a story 25 years in the making. From writing the songs, playing the instruments & producing the album, to building the home studio to record this in, this album is so much more than he could ever imagine. “You know I wanted this album to be special, to be more than just another release and be something I was proud of from beginning to end. And my only request is that you listen the album from beginning to end, at least 1 time before you judge it. Feel my story, hear my journey, meet the real me.”
In the midst of his 150 station media tour, Dylan Jakobsen swings by the WDSD studio to talk about his journey and his song In America!
