Ohne Segelerfahrung.

BRITPOD England at it's best. Isaiah 46:1-13 Introduction e.g. Boot full of donations More than once we have spent months driving around with our boot full of bags of things to give away/donate Carry them around much longer than we need to They get in the way when you try to put your shopping in the car We've even had to take them…

URGREEN have recently launched the NASync DH2300 and the NASync DH4300 Plus for the UK and Irish market. We reviewed the NASync DH4300 Plus here, but today we are looking at the more budget-friendly NASync DH2300. The NASync DH2300 is a 2-Bay device which is really easy to set up and use and is aimed at the beginner market. Even so, it doesn't skimp on features, and the unit is very well spec'd for its price. What's in the Box Inside the box, the NASync DH2300 comes with a power supply, Ethernet cable, an instruction manual, a set of screws for fastening drives into the carriers for each bay, and a small screwdriver. Specs Initial Setup The setup of the NASync DH2300 is very straightforward, even for a beginner. The included manual will step you through each step if it's your first time, and for anyone else who has any experience with PCs, you will be up and running in no time. The two drive bays are accessed from a cover at the top of the device. Once removed it reveals two hard driver carriers which can be removed by squeezing two tabs together and pulling up. The carriers can accept both 2.5" and 3.5" hard drives or SSDs. UGREEN include the screws and a small screwdriver to help you secure your chosen drives in the carriers. We went with two 4TB, 3.5" drives from Seagate to test out how the unit will perform. It is best practice with NAS to use matching drives to avoid any performance or storage issues. We fitted both drives and then connected the power supply and Ethernet cable to a free port on a router in the office, and we were ready to power the device up for the first time. Time to Boot! We powered up the device and checked the manual to see how we could find the device on our network. To find your device, you open a browser on your PC and navigate to find.ugnas.com. From there, you are presented with a UGOS Pro operating system and UI, which will guide you through the setup. The UI guides you through creating an Admin account, linking an email address, and once that is done, it configures the system for a few minutes and then presents you with the UI of the operating system. In total, from pressing the button on the front of the device to turn it on, to the initial setup being complete, and the OS being available to use, took 8 minutes. The next thing you need to do is to create a Volume using the storage pool available and select the RAID option you require. As this is a 2-bay device, there are fewer RAID options than there are with the larger 4-bay NASync DH4300 Plus. We went with RAID 1, which is the recommended choice for a two-drive system. This allows for your data to be stored and backed up on each of the drives, so if one drive fails, your data will still be safe. The steps to set this up are easy and explained to you along the way. Once you have selected what you want, the system creates the storage pool. As we used large capacity spinning disks, this took about 20 hours to complete. The system is usable during this time, so you can get busy adding users, installing apps and setting up remote access. NASync DH2300 Features The NASync DH2300, while more budget-friendly, is still feature-packed and includes everything you need to a device like that. Multiple Users It is possible to add multiple users to the NAS and allocate certain access rights and storage quotas, all of which is easily managed from the Control Panel. Remote Access Remote access to the UI is available either through an intermediary server or through port forwarding if you choose to set it up this way. Ports The NASync DH2300 comes with three high-speed USB ports (2 x Type A & 1 x Type C) as well as a 1GbE port and an HDMI port that supports 4K/ 60Hz. File Services There is support for common file transfer services such as SMB, FTP and NFS, making it really easy to map/access the device's storage from your PC's file explorer. The range of services ensures support for just about any of the main PC operating systems. Security The sys...

Michael Thiessen, Joe Boot, and Nate Wright unpack how Christians can practice genuine hospitality to immigrants without losing the cultural and legal unity of a nation. Drawing on Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and Psalm 2, they argue for care for the sojourner, one law for native and foreigner, and real integration through shared public life—pushing back on church antinomianism and the “multiculturalism = virtue” assumption. They also address the “coercion” objection (every institution disciplines) and why rulers still owe public allegiance to Christ. The Road to Goldwater: Ronald Reagan's Conservative Conversion via General Electric and His Confrontational Governorship. Max Boot discusses how Ronald Reagan found great success in television, hosting the General Electric Theater and earning substantial income while mixing with corporate leadership in the 1950s and early 1960s. Reagan transitioned politically from being an avid New Dealer and FDR supporter to supporting the early Republican conservative movement, particularly Barry Goldwater. Boot argues that Reagan changed, not the Democratic Party, as his transformation began in World War II when he resented paying income taxes at a 90% rate. His political shift was completed in the 1950s during his time as a spokesman for General Electric, where he used long train rides to read conservative literature. In 1964, Reagan's debut on the national political stage came when the Goldwater campaign bought half an hour of air time for Reagan to deliver "A Time for Choosing," which became known simply as "the speech." In 1966, Reagan decided to run for governor against incumbent Pat Brown. During his tenure, particularly the People's Park demonstrations in 1969, Reagan adopted a confrontational stance, using hardline rhetoric and giving student radicals the confrontation they desired, though this approach was politically successful. Reagan was a devoted supporter of Richard Nixon, even backing him during Watergate, though Nixon held little respect for Reagan. Reagan ran hard for the presidency in 1976 and 1980.
Presidential Ambition and the 1980 Victory: From Farm Hand Friendship to the "There You Go Again" Knockout. Max Boot discusses Ronald Reagan running for president, first challenging incumbent Gerald Ford in the 1976 Republican primaries. Reagan narrowly lost the New Hampshire primary to Ford by about a thousand votes, but won the hearts of the convention with a graceful and moving speech delivered in defeat. After Ford lost to Jimmy Carter, Reagan spent the years between 1976 and 1980 returning to his "first love": radio. Despite his 1976 loss and his age (69), Reagan decided to run again in 1980, driven by personal ambition. Reagan loved going to his ranch outside Santa Barbara on weekends, where he enjoyed physical labor and preferred associating with ranch hands, former California state policemen Dennis LeBlanc and Barney Barnett, over the magnates with whom he was often photographed. The 1980 campaign was initially managed by John Sears, but Reagan fired him on the day of the New Hampshire primary, and Nancy brought in Bill Casey as campaign chairman. Casey was later implicated in the alleged "October surprise," and Boot found strong evidence this "probably happened," though the culpability rested with Casey, not Reagan. The campaign remained close through the summer, but the gap opened up weeks before Election Day primarily because of the late October debate, where Reagan delivered the famous rhetorical knockout blow, "There you go again," winning him the debate and the election.
The Finest Hour: How the Assassination Attempt Secured Reaganomics and the Rise of the Baker-Deaver Troika.Max Boot discusses how on March 30, 1981, just 69 days into his administration, Ronald Reagan was shot after giving a speech in Washington and came very close to death. Boot describes the event as Reagan's "finest hour," as Reagan behaved heroically, maintaining his composure and humor, famously joking with doctors, "I hope you're all Republicans," and telling Nancy, "Honey, I forgot to duck." The immediate political benefit was a huge boost in popularity and a massive increase in the prospects for his first budget, which included tax and spending cuts (Reaganomics). Reagan's great strength was convincing people to see the world as he wished it to be, persuading himself that dramatically cutting taxes and raising defense spending would eliminate the budget deficit, though this proved incorrect as budget deficits grew. Reagan was a "great leader but a poor manager," requiring highly capable people to manage for him, particularly Jim Baker. Boot considers appointing Jim Baker as White House Chief of Staff Reagan's most important decision, creating the Troika structure with James Baker, Ed Meese, and Mike Deaver. Another significant first-term achievement was Reagan's appointment of Sandra Day O'Connor to the Supreme Court in August 1981, fulfilling a campaign promise to appoint a woman.
The "Genial and Aloof" Communicator: Reagan's Psychological Defense and Exquisite Political Timing. Max Boot discusses the late Reagan administration, his personality, and his legacy. Reagan was famously defined as "genial and aloof," and Boot argues that Reagan was "very hard to know," even by his wife Nancy and his closest aides, who felt part of him was "walled off." This aloofness originated in his childhood, where constant moving and hiding his father's alcoholism led him to erect a "mental wall." Reagan was comfortable with the title of "Great Communicator," recognizing the political power of his background by stating, "Some people say they can't understand how an actor can be president. I don't understand how anybody but an actor could be president." His most famous sayings include "Honey, I forgot to duck," "ash heap of history," and "There you go again." Regarding his legacy, Boot notes that the economic recovery was largely "salesmanship," with growth rates during the Reagan presidency similar to the Nixon administration, though Reagan's political timing was "exquisite." Boot credits Reagan as a "very lucky politician" who also "made his own luck," with much of the economic recovery due to Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker. An anecdote illustrating Reagan's modesty notes that when he first sat behind the Resolute desk, he was too tall to fit his knees underneath but did not complain, reflecting his unassuming and undemanding nature.
