Colin Stough is a 19-year-old Country Rock phenom and native of Gattman, Mississippi, Colin Stough has come a long way in a few short years – and with his debut EP Promiseland, the 19 Recordings/BMG artist is still just getting started. After learning to play guitar at 8 years old, Stough first pursued artistic dreams at 10, boldly trading childhood possessions for his first guitar at a local pawn shop – an instrument he still plays to this day. After graduating high school, the naturally gifted singer and self-taught songwriter began working full-time as an HVAC technician, before his mother convinced him to audition for American Idol. Impressing judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie, Stough stunned viewers and soon built a thriving fan base, finishing third on Season 21 of the show in 2022. He spent the ensuing months writing and recording original music, while also touring nationwide to put his blowtorch vocal and guitar-slinging edge on full display. After signing with 19 Recordings/BMG, his distinctive mix of Southern Rock distortion and pure-Country style have helped tracks like “I Still Talk To Jesus” and “Bad Day” rack up more than 18.5 MILLION global on-demand streams, and in September 2023, Stough released the single “Promiseland,” along with an official music video. The hard-hitting anthem is the title track to Stough's debut EP, which is out now and puts the emerging artist on track to reach even more dreams in the future. A founding. member of Angels. &. Airwaves, Dave is also known for his work as one of Nashville's most respected songwriters and artists, and why artists like Travis Tritt, Riley Green, Whiskey Myers, Drake White, Larry Fleet, and others have worked with him over the years. Hot off the heels of a tour with The Steel Woods, Dave sits down with Chats and Tatts host Aaron Della Vedova for an in-depth look into life as a musician as well as entrepreneurship and how personal circumstances and timing can play a significant role in starting a business. Dave shares his experience starting a coffee business when he was younger and had fewer responsibilities, allowing him to take risks and sleep on couches, emphasizing that passion and creativity can be more important than having a traditional business plan. In addition, the episode touches on the importance of having a challenge or creative project to stay motivated to combat mental health issues. Dave shares his experience of going through a period of depression when he attempted to take a break from work after COVID-19. He discovered that he needs a challenge or a creative project to stay engaged and motivated and the importance of finding something that interests and excites him to work on, as creative work can be a source of fulfillment and motivation. Aaron and Dave also get into a conversation about UFOs, plant medicine, and animal cruelty in the coffee industry. Country-rocker Adam Rutledge is soaring to new heights with the release of his EP, Runway, which stands out with its “distinctive hybrid of country and rock, catchy guitar intros and lyrical depth” (Sports & Entertainment Nashville/Bob Paxman). The Roanoke, Va. native's first-class songwriting, referred to as “storytelling that features clever turns of phrase (Taste of Country/Sterling Whitaker), caught the attention of country music hitmaker Phil Vassar through a connection with longtime Vassar collaborator, Jeff Smith. This resulted in Vassar taking the fellow Virginian under his wing as a management client and opening act. “When I heard Phil Vassar was managing newcomer Adam Rutledge, I immediately had high expectations and when I heard him, he exceeded them. His songs are slices of life everyone can relate to brought to life with his warm, evocative voice and searing guitar. As a fellow Virginia native, I've got to say this guy is going to make the home folks proud!” said Billboard and Sounds Like Nashville contributor Deborah Evans Price. Adam is known for putting on high-energy live shows, so it's no surprise when he draws large crowds on the road. He has shared the stage with artists such as Chris Janson, Old Dominion, Lee Brice, Brothers Osborne, Drake White, Russell Dickerson, Lauren Alaina, Chase Rice, Phil Vassar, Tyler Farr and many more. His edgy, powerful sound doesn't blend in but does indeed fit in today's country sound. Adam's most recent music video for his single “Love Kickin' In” recently premiered on CMT.com and reached the #1 spot for most viewed video.

White suffered a stroke in 2019 Drake White continues his musical voyage with his second studio album, The Optimystic, which was released in March 2022. White co-wrote 12 of the album's 14 tracks and produced two songs solo, co-produced the others with The Cadillac Three's Jaren Johnston. In August 2019, White collapsed on stage due to a hemorrhagic stroke, the result of Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), a brain condition White had been diagnosed with early that year. Doctors told him that he might never perform again, but the Alabama native defied the odds, undergoing multiple procedures and months of intensive physiotherapy and has been able to regain the use of his left side. The condition forced him to relearn how to walk. White is back on the road and will hit perform five dates in The UK in August. We chat with the country star about his incredible resilience that led him to write and record The Optimystic and return to the road. We also discuss how he spent the pandemic and the event space he and his wife operate in Whites Creek, TN. This episode of The Music Universe Podcast is sponsored by Aroma Retail. Josh Kiser Cleveland, Tennessee is bursting with pride since hometown boy Josh Kiser has become the newest rising artist/writer in Nashville's country music scene. Kiser found his sweet spot by blending traditional 90's sounds with a touch of rock&soul to his production to create a sound that resonates well with longtime country fans, as well as newer listeners who most call “Kiser Kountry”. He moved to Nashville in 2019 to pursue his music career. Before moving to the city, he signed a production deal with “Starts With Music”, a company owned by Nathan Chapman and Kevin Kadish. After moving to Nashville, he quickly signed a publishing deal with Liz Rose Music and Warner Chappell Music Publishing. Kiser draws his influences from artists like: Travis Tritt, The Eagles, George Straight, Ray Charles and Hank Jr. The realness in his songs and sound are evident by the pain in his voice and the truth of his lyrics. Kiser is hammering out his own creative niche that fans will readily identify with the East Tennessee native himself Josh Kiser. Raised in a smoky kitchen, where acoustic guitars and harmonicas filled the air, it isn't hard to understand the origins of Kevin Ludwig's raspy vocals. From theaters and stages on the East and West coast to American Idol, Kevin has put miles on the soles of his shoes and soul in the hearts of those who have listened. Ludwig has opened for Tim Reynolds (DMB), Boyd Tinsley (Formerly of DMB), Drake White, moe. , Driftwood, and Aqueous. He's played at Orpheum Theater, Westcott Theater, Grassroots, Sterling Stage, MOVE Music Festival, etc. He even made the top 100 of American Idol's 2020 season. Ludwig did have a self-scheduled tour, “Cleaner Oceans Tour”, stretching from Alabama to the Florida Keys, and then back up the East Coast. It was a month and a half tour consisting of beach cleanups, community outreach (homeless shelters, food pantries, soup kitchens, animal shelters, community programs/big brother programs), and live performances. Unfortunately, the pandemic ended that tour and hopefully, it will make a comeback. We'll listen to Kevin's song, Moonshine on the podcast today.
