This week on the podcast Matt introduces Dylan to Veronica Mars and is ... very disappointed by his feelings on it.
How do you make setup fun? By bringing back lots of characters of course! We revisit season 3 in the form of multiple character cameos as the show starts to dig deeper into the bombing mysteries. We also rejoice in the return of Vinny and Leo and congratulate them on their respective career boons.
A LONG TIME AGO ON VERONICA MARS: There have been some rough episodes of Veronica Mars, but this has to be one of the roughest. Aaron fucking Echolls is found innocent on all charges! And it’s somehow something to do with Veronica getting chlamydia? Fvck! Off!! Woody Goodman is revealed to be a child abuser, and some of the kids in the bus crash were his victims. As was Lucky the janitor, who starts firing a gun at the school, then is shot dead. Terrence Cook is exonerated from the bus crash, but condemned to work at the casino for at least a decade. Jackie LEAVES without even saying goodbye. And then, after all that trauma, Veronica has to take finals! It’s too much! Join Jenny Owen Youngs and Helen Zaltzman to investigate Veronica Mars season 2 episode 21: Happy Go Lucky, delving into such mysteries as to whether Woody could have chosen a more disgusting password, what’s actually supposed to happen in court when someone shouts “Objection!” and why a load of physical evidence, witnesses and legal procedure

It had to happen eventually but we're (Brenton) is grieving the end of Leo's courtship with Veronica. We try to put it out of our minds for the time being because things our rapidly heating up in the Lily Kane case. We also cover a case of missing dogs and Echolls family drama, with just a dash of witty Logan repartee.
On this week's entertainment-themed Round 2, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist took an extraordinary week off, so we checked in with one of our past watches: One Day at a Time, now relaunched on PopTV after Netflix inexplicably cancelled it. All our faves and yours are back, except the full-length theme song.In Neptune, it's not Easter but Christmas ("An Echolls Family Christmas"). This was a fun whodunit ep, as Veronica and Keith worked parallel cases centered on the Echolls's home. Next week: "Silence of the Lamb," and "Zoey's Extraordinary Outburst."
Life's tough when you're an Echolls, but there has got to be a better way to channel your anger. We step into the guidance counselors office for an investigation of fake IDs, talk of disassembling the patriarchy, & a brief run through of bars in the Santa Barbara area. Sit down and join us for a rousing night out of karaoke!
A prediction Alex made a few episodes back finally comes true when we discover a secret society of 09ers who might be the source of some shitty fake IDs that Veronica is being blamed for. Rebecca James is still the worst and the Echolls are having a no good very bad time. Our show art is by Christina Redd Spinks and our theme music is a piece of Crushing Crayons' performance at KBOO Community Radio.
We hunt for the clues that may lead us to calling “An Echolls Family Christmas” from Veronica Mars (available on Hulu) a Christmas Classic on the eleventh episode of our Christmas TV podcast. In the midst of our investigation we also discuss: Jon walks us through the Christmas mystery he’s trying to solve, Chris hits the nog too hard, the hosts try to keep track of all the generic looking white men in this episode, Deon Waiters, Jon gives us another story from his time in retail, Veronica’s apparent super powers, Brian fat shames his dog, more perspectives on Christmas, stabbing techniques, the Milwaukee Brewers being better than the San Diego Padres, Chris tells everyone how to gamble with their families this Christmas, and we determine which TV family we’d most like to spend Christmas with. Thank you very much to Jacqui for commissioning the live watch of this episode and the episode itself! This is a bonkers episode and I'm so mad that the damn finale isn't going to be until January! I don't know how I'm going to manage right now. The finale is also a voyeur episode, and that means I literally have to wait until then not just to record, but to watch. AGH. There are so many things coming to light this episode, but the first thing (and I'm guessing the most important) is the fact that Woody is a fucking creep who abused young boys from a little league team he coached. He plays sinister really well and he just got under my skin so bad in this. Ugh. And then there's the result of the Echolls case, and I'm absolutely TOTALLY unsurprised that there's a not guilty verdict in the end. I mean, of course. Of-fucking-course. Thanks so much for listening, and I hope you enjoy the episode!
A LONG TIME AGO, ON VERONICA MARS: There’s a secret society! Because where there are rich white boys, there are secret societies. Someone is trying to pin a fake ID racket on Veronica. She didn’t do it! What she is guilty of is being great at karaoke. Duncan, however… not so much. And even though you thought the Echolls family couldn’t get any bleaker, it gets a ton bleaker. Join Jenny Owen Youngs and Helen Zaltzman to investigate Veronica Mars Season 1 Episode 12: Clash of the Tritons, and consider such mysteries as whether Cliff is a good lawyer, whether Miss James is the worst grief counsellor, and what the range is of a spy stapler with a bug in it. See more about this episode, and a transcript, at the podcast’s official site VMIpod.com/1-12. A LONG TIME AGO, ON VERONICA MARS: It’s the most wonderful time of the year - you know, when you get stabbed at your own Christmas party. It’s also poker night at Logan’s - but where is all the money? We meet a new Bro9er, we think - but is everything as it seems? And someone AT LAST calls out Logan’s racist jokes. Merry Christmas everyone. Join Jenny Owen Youngs and Helen Zaltzman to investigate Veronica Mars Season 1 Episode 10: An Echolls Family Christmas, and get stuck into such mysteries as: what the heck is happening in this poker game? How much is a Fabergé egg these days? And how/why are Duncan and Logan wearing matching festive underwear?? It's time for one of Colin and Ryan's favorite episodes of their favorite show! That ep, and a fun mystery of the week featuring a bunch of nice people that make V suspicious. A cult, a heist, and a "gather the suspects to explain the plot" scene -these eps have it all! Plus, a lot of horny Veronica and Colin reveals a secret about his past.
Its Christmas in July! Or something like that, in this re-posted recording from 2013 where we're chatting about Veronica Mars season 1, episodes 10 and 11. Yes, episode 6 is still missing for now, which was a commentary track for 1.10.
Guess what y’all? Tonight is the night that we finally find out who killed Lilly Kane! Tonight we’re discussing Leave it to Beaver, the season 1 finale! And even though we have been diligently tracking this investigation, they leave us guessing all the way til the very end. Is it Logan? Is it Donut? Which rich, white boy did it???? Surprise! It’s the ****SPOILER EDITED OUT****! Oh, and don't think I forgot.... now presenting the Echolls family's custom portrait pool house curtain: Check out our website for schedule and other info. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram.
It's Christmastime in Neptune! Join us and our friend and fellow marshmallow Gretchen as we discuss S1xE10 "An Echolls Family Christmas." Weevils the big winner at Logan's poker party, but when the $5,000 jackpot disappears, the guys turn on each other. Enter Veronica.. Meanwhile, Keith attends the Echolls' swanky AF Christmas party to uncover who's been stalking Logan's father. Follow the Santas, and don't forget your coats! It's cold out there in all that fake snow.
This week’s episode is “An Echolls Family Christmas,” which originally aired on December 14, 2004. This week Logan and Weevil are back together! But then Logan and Duncan break up! And Aaron Echolls gets stabbed! And Veronica confronts Jake Kane! The boys are all having a really hard time this week, and we’ve got a lot to say about it. Check out our website for our release schedule. We're also on Twitter and Instagram!
Today we tackle S1xE2 "Credit Where Credit's Due." Someone's stealing credit card apps out of the Echolls's family trash and all signs point to Weevil. New guy Troy Vandegraff has his eyes on Veronica and--wait, is that--it is! Paris Hilton moves us all with her superior acting skills. Listen in!
A holiday poker game at Logan's house gets nasty when Weevil's winnings disappear, leaving Veronica to determine the guilty party before Weevil finds his own way of getting the money back. Meanwhile, Keith helps Lynn Echolls find out who is sending threatening messages to her husband, Aaron, before their big Christmas party.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy...y'all. Did you know that the way to my heart is a knife through an abusive man's stomach? MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME. I can't figure out where the hell things are going to go from here because it really seems like the shit has hit the fan in some ways. I mean, shit's going down in the Echolls family, clearly, but there's also the whole thing with Veronica confronting Duncan's dad, and I have no idea how the hell that whole thing is going to play out. Then there's the case of the week, in which Veronica figures out that the rich kid from the biggest house in the neighborhood is actually just the son of the butler, and I'm delighted at the fact that he's being forced to pay Weevil his money. Maybe Weevil is an unsavory character but goddammit I just want him to WIN. Thanks so much for listening, and I can't wait to see you next week with a new episode!
Welcome to the second of our lost episodes! In this recording from 2013, your hosts are chatting about the second and third episodes of Veronica Mars. In "Credit Where Credit's Due," Veronica investigates identity theft at the Echolls household that brings her into the orbit of the PCHers biker gang. Meanwhile, Logan dates Paris Hilton, because it was 2004 and UPN needed ratings. In "Meet John Smith," Veronica agrees to help a classmate find his father, and Oscar Winner Melissa Leo guest stars!
